Captivate

Hi Can anyone help... i seem to have a red screen appearing at the end of my Captivate project when previewing...My project is currently 9 slides long each containing a short video and simple graphics and no interactions.. I'm working on a PC using Windows 10The only info I can find online seems very outdated...Any advice would be much appreciated!Many thanksKim

I'm not sure if i should be setting any specific settings when recording a video demo?When i import my video demo as a video back into my captivate project the quality is very poor and pixalated looking...?  You can see from the image below... my graphics are crisp but the video demo is terrible...?

Hi Within my Captivate project I would like to show a laptop screen displaying a software simulation which I have recorded separately.  The simulation is of me navigating to an online resource which we own and browsing through a few of the features.  I have two questions:1 - What's the difference between a software simulation and a video demo? Which one should i be using?2 - I expected to be able to save my simulation (let's call it that for ease) as a mp4 and insert it as a video over the laptop graphic in my project.... I can insert it but how do i make it play?  It plays out of Captivate but not when i import it as a video?  Any help would be very much appreciated!Many thanskKim

Hi There,I have a 'complete' button at the end of the eLearning that I have included in Quiz. It has 10 points associated with it (see below image).In order to be marked as complete, users need to get 90 points (including the 10 points associated with the button).For some reason, the button is being marked as 'incorrect' in my LMS, so users are not getting the 10 points (see the second image below).How could they be being marked as 'incorrect' when all they need to do is a click a button and there IS no 'incorrect' answer? Why would it only mark as incorrect sometimes and not others?This has happened to me before and I've never been able to complete it. The only solution I can find is a work around - two 10 point buttons that the user has to click at the end of the eLearning - keeping the requirement for completion at 90 points so that if ONE is marked incorrect, they still are marked as complete.My worry is that both of them will be marked as incorrect at some point and the learner wo

Hello there.I use Captivate for a pretty specific use case.I make all of my content inside of Adobe Animate and then export as an AOM. I then import that into Captivate and eventually export it as a learning object.Somewhere along the way I am getting some strange things happening.My stage within Animate is 1280 x 720.When I import to Captivate however, I get large borders around the top and the bottom of the content (once I have extended it to the full width.I can't just move the content to the top of the container because it is in a 'fluid container' and therefore it would ruin the responsiveness.If anyone knows how to correctly import AOM files to the correct size of player that'd be awesome.Thanks

Hello everyone,I am given simulations from another department using Adobe Captivate 2017. This simulation includes a mouse path.After I duplicate the slide the mouse pointer disappears. However, the mouse is still in the timeline.Can anyone give me a solution on how to duplicate a simulation slide without losing the mouse animation?Thanks for your help.

Is there a way for Adobe Captivate 9 to automatically take the captions and make them into closed captions?

I'm working in Captivate 2017 in a Responsive project and I'm having some issues with the z-Index of images in my project. Thanks to this forum and it's users, I've managed to put together an external JS file with some code that essentially says "any image with an id containing the word 'image', when clicked on, will scale up." I'd like the users to be able to click on image, have it animate smoothly into a larger scale (eventually I'd like to translate it's position to, but that will be the next step), then have the user click the image again to have it animate smoothly back down to it's normal size. I'm using the GSAP library for the tweening/animation. Check out this thread if you'd like to see more of how I go to where I am now: Accessing images by ID containing a specific word via external javascript The issue I'm running into now, is that when there are multiple images on a slide, I need their z-Index to animate so the image that is clicked on will appear above all other images.

We have just loaded Captivate 2017 and are unable to access the Object Style Manager.  It is on the Themes menu as a selection, but won't load.  We were able to access it once and changed our default text boxes and buttons, saved them and then it "bombed out" and wouldn't load again.  Anyone else have this problem?

I have an interesting situation I'm hoping to get some feedback on from you Captivate experts.We have a section of training where we need to show staff how to enter things into our DOS system. For security reasons I can't show the actual screen, but I've included an image of what we're trying to accomplish.Basically staff have to enter information into three boxes. Both SS and date of birth have three separate boxes. The current version of the Captivate training uses multiple text captions and actions to accomplish what we need to. The biggest issue is currently learners have to press the tab key to go to the next box, but in the actual DOS program it automatically advances to the next box.My questions are:1. How would you go about building this sort of interaction?2. Is there a way to have it advance to the next box automatically after user has typed in the previous box?I've also considered that if it would be better to go with a simulation on this instead of using screen shots and ac

Depuis une semaine, c'est devenu pratiquement impossible de travailler avec ce logiciel. L'ouverture se passe bien, mais dès que j'ouvre un fichier CPTX et que j'essaie, par ex., de bouger un objet, boites, textes, images, etc, le curseur gèle. Y'a pas de réaction. Je dois attendre parfois jusqu'à 30 secondes avant de retrouver le contrôle. Si je déplace le curseur à l'extérieur de la fenêtre Captivate, celle-ci "colle" au curseur.J'ai essayé toutes sortes de solutions, incluant bien sûr une réinstallation complète....je suis au désespoir ;-(Merci.Yves

Hi All,I'm building a responsive course, and I'm trying to create a menu overlay slide that will show for the rest of the course.  I have 5 buttons stacked vertically at the bottom of the slide.The menu button toggles the buttons off and on, so that people can view the main content area and not have the navigation interfere.  Easy-peasy, right?So originally, I had the buttons set to maintain aspect ratio, so they would stay big and easy to tap, no matter the size of the screen.  However, when I set the button to display for rest of project:Now, the maintain aspect ratio box disappears,and when I go to resize the project, this happens.  My beautiful aspect ratio is destroyed!Why is Captivate so determined to prevent me from doing anything nice with it?  Does anyone have any tips on how to make this work again?  Is this supposed to work this way, or is it a bug?  I'm trying to wrap my head around why this functionality would be disabled when the slide i

We have several safety inductions that upload completion data after a quiz or on a % of slide views.Our business has decided that they only want the induction to be recorded as complete if the learner also has a site walk, except when they are doing a refresher and are familiar with the site.They want us to add a button where the user selects whether they need to have the site walk.  If this is selected, they want the completion record to be NOT uploaded but the learner is able to complete the course and print out a certificate.  They hand the certificate to their supervisor who manually updates the record after the site walk.Does anyone know if it is possible to add an action in Captivate 2017 that will stop completion data from uploading but still allows the learner to complete the course?Logically we should have two components to the course in the LMS to do this but our system is limited to one activity per course, so we need to be able to do it within the SCORM.Any ideas

I'm desperate! 7 days of research to solve my problem here:I have been using Captivate 9 for over 2 years. For a week, it has become almost impossible to work with this software. The opening is going well, but as soon as I open a file CPTX and that I try, for example, to move an object, boxes, texts, images, etc, the cursor freezes. There is no reaction. I have to wait sometimes for up to 30 seconds before regaining control. If I move the cursor outside the Captivate window, it will "stick" to the cursor.I tried all kinds of solutions, including of course a complete reinstallation .... I'm in despair ;-(Thank you.Yves

I'm currently trying to build a button that will toggle hints (in the form of SmartShapes) and highlights that match a certain criteria from hidden to shown. Because the file is so big (over 600 slides), my current (attempted) approach has two parts.First part is an Action on Enter for the first slide to Execute Javascript and find every item (highlights and smartshapes with text) that has "Anton_Resources_" in its name and creates a string with the names.My second step was to create a button that I could drop on each page of the click through to toggle the hints on if needed. I hoped to do this by having a button that executes a javascript to loop through the string and show the objects in the list. (And then another script on exit of page to hide these objects again if the user still has more hints to use before going to "Beginner version" with all the hints and highlights shown for the rest of the simulation.)These objects and shapes are scattered throughout the project on different

Hi everyone, I'm working in Captivate 2017 on a responsive project. What I'm trying to accomplish is take a piece of code which 'zooms' (translates position and scale via GSAP API) images via one function that targets all images by whether or not their id contains the word 'image'. I've created something that 'zooms' images using GSAP already, but the difference is I made each image page a .zip file containing an html, css, and js page. This was nice as I could control the css and html of the images, however, loading a .zip file on each slide with an image can take a minute and sometimes images don't load right away. I'm wondering if I can do the same effect, however with one external JS file that I'll load into my index.html file after publish. I'm having a hard time calling/accessing images with an id that contains the word 'image' however. I'm not an expert coder by any means and I've had a lot of help from forums to get as far as I am, but essentially the code I'm using looks like

I'm using Adobe Captivate 2017 and have inserted 3 different interactions into my project, (table, glossary and scrolling) and after the project was published, there were issues with the interactions.  The issues were as follows: table - the letters for some of the words wrapped around to the next lineglossary - doesn't appear at allscrolling - the information in the scrolling feature looks fine the first time you go to the page, subsequent visits show a <brx><brx> wherever a new sentence or paragraph happens.Contacted TCS gold support for assistance and was told that a patch has been created that would resolve this issue. have looked on what issues the patch will correct, but it doesn't appear that the patch will address this issue. Furthermore, due to our firewall and other IT requirements, I am unable to just download the patch to see if this will correct these issues.  Has anyone experienced this issue?  Is there a way to resolve these issues?  thank

Hi Everyone,Captivate 2017 (10.0.0.192)I've noticed that sometimes the option to "maintain aspect ratio" is missing for smart shapes, used as buttons in a responsive project.  Oddly enough, if I change the alignment of the fluid box, the option will magically appear.  When I reset the alignment to the original position, the option remains available.  To add to the drama, this issue is inconsistent within the same project.  It does not occur with every button on every slide.  I have found a workaround but I'd prefer not to deal with this issue at all.Does anyone have an insight into this issue?   In the first image, the option is not available.  In the second image, I've changed the alignment of the fluid box from left aligned to right aligned and moved the arrow to the right.

I am trying to publish a project to HTML but I keep getting "Could Not Delete Folder" errors if I try to publish to an existing folder, or "Could Not Copy Folder to C:\.... \ assets" if I set it to create a new folder.I can run the preview HTML5 in browser with no problems.  And I can publish to swf. I have checked the HTML5 Tracker and there are no entries.I have tried with and without admin rights.I have cleared my cache.I have both SCORM package and non-SCORM.I am on a trial version of Captivate 2019.  The website says it is a full-feature version, but I am wondering if this is an exception...?

I am trying to hide the TOC when the quiz starts; however, nothing seems to work. I've tried the simple "Hide TOC" on enter, assign TOC variable and hide TOC in an advanced action, etc. But, nothing turns it off. I can turn it off at the beginning, but then it won't display when it needs to. My output is HTML5. Any ideas? Thanks.

The motion path animation of the object works well, I would like the object to continuously move on the selected motion path for that slide.

Hi all,I have a very strange question... I have four simple captivate 'modules' each of which contain animated videos and some simple interactions.Exporting them all as Scorm packages and uploading them to my LMS they all play absolutely fine.Publishing them as 'video' files they all play fine apart from one.  When played back the audio in it plays too soon - i cant see it anywhere and like i say if i preview the project in Captivate it's fine and when exported and uploaded to my LMS it's fine the issue only occurs when exported as a video...any ideas would be much appreciated...Thanks

I have designed a captivate project in Captivate 2017 that includes the Tabs learning interaction on one of the slides. When I preview the project directly in captivate, the learning interaction displays.When I publish and then access from a web server, the learning interaction page is blank - have tried in both IE and Chrome.Are there any other things I can try to get it to work?Not overly happy with Captivate as a new user!

Why does the last slide of my training program show up for a split second and then shows the pass or fail status from the learning platform?  Upon entering that last slide, the action is "continue" and on exit it is "exit".  All help on this will be greatly appreciated.
