I've made a video using captivate but it's to big how do you reduce the size?

I have only recently started with Captivate and have been experimenting. I need advice on this scenario please:Playbar is disabled until user views all elements/contents of a certain slide. The user can go back to that slide and the playbar will still be available. Playbar is disabled on a subsequent slide with the same condition.Here is what I did:Created a variable for slides that had the condition (and hiding the playbar)Assigned an AA on entrySo far it works. But I am wondering if there is a faster way to do the same on a larger project. It will be messy having to create and assign 100 variables.Thanks!

I searched through the forums and none of the answers apply to my situation.  I'm simply starting a new project on Captivate (not importing or copy/pasting from a different medium) and when I click the preview button it takes me to a web based window that does nothing but load.  I'm not sure what to do about it since I'm very new to using the software and my troubleshooting skills are very limited.  Thank you in advance!

How do I change the bullet style of the Answers/FIB Text in the Object Style Manager? The Bullets drop-down menu plus several other options don't show on this style. Is anyone else seeing this? I want the A) B) to go away. Thanks!

I started a simple project; one slide with a bit of text and 32 image buttons with some custom states. When I try to Preview all I see is this flickering popup:When I preview HTML5 in browser I do see the slide with all its content. But if I view the published content, I again only see a blank slide. Has anyone encountered this and knows of a solution?I tried creating a new project and paste the objects, without success. And I deleted groups of buttons. Turns out that having more than 12 buttons cause the issue described above.

I am building a course (in Captivate 9) where at a "branching" slide a learner will click on a a section of a map of four states to view the training needed to be certified in whichever territory(ies) he/she wants to sell the product. Some learners may need to view only one state; others, two or three or all four states. I plan to use my own (shape-based) buttons for navigation on those slides rather than the playbar, so that when the learner reaches the end of a set of slides relevant to that state, he'll be directed back to the "branching" slide, to select another state if needed or to say "I'm done."Normally, I'd prefer to use either all shape-based buttons or only the playbar in a course. However, for this course, I feel that I also need to use both my buttons and the playbar, as I would like the learners to be able to have access to these playbar functions:Rewind (to start the course over, if needed)Pause (to pause the audio)CC (to open and close the closed captioning)X  (to

Hello all, and thanks in advance for your help. I have a Captivate 9 software simulation that I would like for people to be able to use with or without a script. To that end, I'd like to put a toggle on the first slide that will allow the user to turn the hint shapes associated with Click Boxes and Drag and Drop interactions off or on, depending on their preference. Is there an easy, jQuery-style way to call out all hint shapes, or all hint shapes with identifiers like Hint_Shape_xxxxx so that I can show or hide them via one line in a script?Thanks again,Eric

I'm using Captivate 2017 and creating SCORMS for an LMS.  After loading the SCORM to the LMS (and also SCORM cloud), some of my advanced actions are not bookmarked when re-entering the course.This blue boxes on this menu are buttons that take the learner through a series of slides.  They can select the buttons in any order. Once they reach the last slide in the series, an advanced action sets a variable, returns the learner to the menu and places a checkmark on the box.All the boxes must have checkmarks before the “Check Your Knowledge” is available for the quiz.If the learner exits the course at any time, upon re-entry, the learner will be taken to the last side from which they exited the course, but the checkmarks will no longer appear, causing the learner  to “re-do” any previously completed menu buttons.What are the SCORM settings that need to be used to “bookmark” the checkmarks.?Here are the quiz settings:

Hi... I have a quiz where the user needs to correctly program a medical pump.  Does anyone have a suggestion of how to do this?  Currently, I have an image of  the medical device on 14 slides.  On each slide I have a click box over where the user needs to click.  I have other click boxes over other areas on the pump as well (incorrect areas).  I would like to capture when a user clicks on the wrong area of the picture of the medical device and how many times they click wrong areas before selecting the correct area.  The click boxes aren't working out too well.... any suggestions?  Any assistance will be appreciated.... I'm using Captivate 9.I recorded some software simulations that have both still frames and video clips and the video clips are stopping during playback. The user must click the play button to finish the simulation.Anybody else with this problem?Anne R.

I'm created a course in which the learner selects various buttons which change the state of a text box.  The changed state consist of an image of what was selected and another text box with a description.  All of the images have a FadedZoomin and a CustomLines. Everything works when I "preview project" and when I preview "in browser".  But, when I preview "HTML5 in Browser" the vast majority of the text and the images don't even appear; though they do on a couple of slides but I can find no difference in the way they're built.The course was published as HTML5 and SCORM 1.2 and uploaded to my LMS thinking that might help, but it did not.I used the HTML5 tracker and it gives me no errors.   I have a feeling that I've created something that won't work in HTML5, but if anyone is familiar with this problem I'd appreciate hearing about it before I start tearing apart what I'm built.Thanks.Jay

Our customer want us to 'speak' the quiz questions and answers by default. Problem is that the audio keeps playing when the submit button is pressed and overlaps with the spoken responses. Is there any workaround that will enable us to play the audio until the submit buttons is pressed without overlapping on the responses. This questions was asked in another audio forum post, but the workaround to default the audio to 'off' is not acceptable in our case. Any workarounds?

Hello Friends,   I updated, yesterday, to the latest version of Captivate 2017. Since the update, and I try to play HTML5 project, after being published, the following screen appears in the web browser:Nothing happens until I press the play button. Auto play is turned on. Below is an image of what the first slide timeline looks like:When I publish the project as a SCORM file, and load to my LMS, the project never starts. I have tried this on IE11, and FF59. If I go back to my other posted SCORM files, they start just fine; it only seems to be the projects that I publish in this updated version.  Any ideas on why this is happening with the most recent update?Sincerely,Peter

I've seen several responses to this problem related to earlier Captivate versions and browsers but none seem applicable. I'm using Captivate 2017 and IE 11. I created a button to open a new project but it does nothing. Shockwave Flash Object/ActiveX is enabled for all sites. Hello, I'm new to Captivate and am running into a huge issue. Since I'm working on a VM and I cannot change the resolution of my screen, reading some of the sections in the demos are small -- not a lot, but a few. I'd like a way to magnify certain sections of the screen and have them stay magnified through multiple slides.  I tried using zoom, but with every slide transition, the section zoomed in and I'd like the section perma-zoomed/magnified until I say otherwise. Can this be done?Along a similar vein, I want to show a fullscreen in some sections of my presentation and partial screen in others. However, the smaller "partial" sections I'm recording are saving with huge empty slide space all around them. Is there a way I can resize it to fill my entire slide?I'm frustrated because I can't resize captured images like I can in photoshop so ANY image recorded can fit any slide.Thanks!

Hi,Currently when I publish in Captivate project then the content and how we created it is hidden from view  (unless someone decompiles it) . With HTML5 my understanding is that everthing is in plain text and there is no way of doing DRM or hiding content.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_HTML5_and_FlashIs this right ?Is this really an issue ?regards Renovator

Hello.I'm wondering if someone has a solution for me. I would like for my course to be something that people can revisit later to review the information in the course, but the quiz slides are giving me trouble. Once the maximum number of attempts have been met or the question is answered correctly, the trainee is not be able to get past the quiz slides upon revisiting the course for a second time. There are a couple of items of note:Our organization does not want trainees to be able to move past quiz slides without answering in their first attempt of the course.I have Captivate set up so that the navigation bar is not visible on quiz slides to avoid trainees skipping questions.Our organization does not want trainees to view the Quiz Results slide.I have just been navigating trainees around this slide, but leaving it in the project.I thought that the solution was the "Review Mode Navigation Buttons", but upon leaving the course in our LMS and then returning to the course, these buttons

  Captivate generated handout/storyboard slide image quality is terrible. When our customer is reviewing the storyboards they have trouble reading the text from the images because they are pixelated. One option is to manually get screen grabs but I'm trying to avoid this option because it is time consuming since I have to work with 300+ slides. Is there a way to fix the image quality?

Hello! I am publishing my first project in Captivate. I'm using Captivate 2017 and have built a responsive project using fluid boxes. It will be viewed on a Surface Pro 4, so I have built my project at 2736 x 1824 to fit perfectly.  In my preview window, my project scales down fine, however, when I publish and open in my browser on my desktop, it doesn't scale down to fit. Shouldn't this happen automatically? I have to reduce the magnification of my browser to 50% to be able to see the whole project.Thanks for any help!

Captivate 2017 Windows 7 64 bit OSI guess there is no longer a Bug Report form? They want you to post bugs in the forums now? If someone has a true bug form, I'd love the link, but this link does not have any sort of clickable object to open a form to list any details: Feature Request/Bug Report Form so I'll post in the forums...In previous Cp versions when you use the Find and Replace function, it would show the Slide number and your found text.Now it just displays nonsense and obscures the Slide number. Upgrading to Cp2017 has been a nightmare. I experience issues with the below items all the time and as such, I no longer use Captivate to create new projects.CC placement is buggy - they are aware of it but no improvement in months.Find/Replace functionality is useless - everything is obscured with programming textDuplicate a slide - change the slide notes - slide notes on the orig slide also changeThank youKatie

Hello all,I would like to add a link on the last slide of my project but it is not working:Example:On a slide I have the following..."Click here to view a simulation of ..."I put a click box around "Click here"On Success: Open URL or fileURL: lesson2_sim.htmlesson2_sim.htm and its swf file are in the same folder as the current projectBasically, we want the user to launch a simulation in a new window. I've tried testing with lesson2_sim.swf  and some other jpg file and they work. However, I cannot get Captivate to launch an html file. Is this a known issue?Please help!

Hi - I have Adobe Captivate 8. My colours look as I need them when I preview my project, but when I publish to video they look a lot darker, not just the bright=ness but the hue too. Any ideas?
