Captivate

I'm testing the variable condition to detect the value of a variable used in a CP 2024 course, and after many tests, I've noticed that the "if" option isn't working correctly. Captivate doesn't recognize part of this condition and instead forces the user to enter it through "then."I used this feature extensively in CP 2019, and it always worked. Is anyone else experiencing this issue, or do you know if Adobe has identified a problem with this part of the interaction? Thanks.

Created a Captivate 13 course with 112 slides. Had the Completion rate set at 80% for the LMS system. There are a handful of users taking the course that have experienced it shutting down in about the same spot, approximately 80% through the slides. The LMS then generates a completion certificate and if they reopen the course, they have to start over, as it shows them as complete. Shouldn’t the user be able to take the entire course, regardless of completion rate? It seems it’s shutting down once they hit that 80%. The LMS team is telling me it’s most likely a setting in my captivate file. But it’s not happening to everyone taking it, just a handful of users. Any thoughts? 

I have uploaded a project to the Canvas LMS (not SCORM) but it has developed the “Loading...” issue, where playback stops after a couple of slides and does not resume.This issue has happened over the years but we have never been able to pinpoint the cause.  What exactly is “loading”?  And, why does it never seem to complete the loading process?All we have are the HTML files of the project - the Classic version of Captivate no longer runs on our computers.I’d hate to throw away years of work so I’d appreciate any insight into what we can look at in the HTML files to try and fix this.

Hi all,  I am having some issues with my eLearning project on 360Learning.  Although I have the “Never Send Resume Data” option unchecked in Captivate, whenever my learners exit the course midway through, when they relaunch it again on 360Learning they lose all progress. I have also been having issues with my course not showing up at 100% complete upon their completion, always showing up either as 50% complete or 80% complete.  I am using SCORM 20048 Version 4th Edition, and the platform is 360Learning.  Thanks. 

I have generated an avatar in Captivate 13, and everything works when I am creating.  When I publish, the avatar mouth doesn’t move when viewing.  Any ideas?

Why is there not a better daily community for Captivate for Instructional Designers...I am an Adobe user through-and-through, but I am very envious of the Articulate community...just sad Adobe doesn't compare and this has been an ongoing issue...makes me want to switch! Am I missing something here? Is there something comparable?

Hello, I have an issue with Adobe Captivate 12.5. Whenever I try to import an image from the asset image gallery, nothing happens. I click on replace the image, captivate starts loading, but nothing happens, no errors, nothing - the image is just not uploaded to the project and the default picture remains there. The strange thing is that there are no issues with uploading my own images from my pc.  It’s not just images, but the entire asset panel behaves in the same way, i.e. slide templates, icons etc. don’t respond as well.  I tried traditional methods of troubleshooting - cleared cache and properties, and the problem still persists. I’m currently using the 30-day trial version, but according to Adobe’s website, this shouldn’t be the source of the issue.  Thank you for your help. 

I am having the same frequently occurring bug where the last few lines of the AI text-to-speech VoiceOver keeps repeating the final line or final few sentences of the script. I find that this seems to happen when opening the review links in Safari and Microsoft Edge. When I export SCORM files of the same documents it also has the same issue with randomly repeating audio bugs on several slides. Is there a work around or something I am not understanding on how to rectify this issue?

Hi everyone,I’ve been exploring ways to make AI-generated writing sound more natural for my creative projects in Adobe tools (Premiere Pro subtitles, After Effects scripts, etc.).Lately, I’ve tested a few AI humanizers and found that most either over-edit or still leave that robotic tone. But GPTHuman AI stood out it made the output feel way more human and worked well when integrated into my Adobe workflow.Just wondering if anyone here has tried other tools or plugins that play nicely with Adobe for polishing AI written content?Would love to hear your go-to methods for making text sound less “AI” and more real before importing into your projects.Thanks!

I’m having an issue with captivate 13 where my captions keep changing to a serif font when it should be arial. The theme is set to arial, but even after I manually change captions to arial, when I leave the slide and come back it changes back to the serif font. Is there a specific workflow I need to do for the “Apply to all slides” to work? It seems to work for some files, but not others. 

I’m looking to record a software simulation in Captivate 12, and have found that everything appears larger in the project than the actual screen.  I size the application so it fits within my browser - below the address bar, away from the browser scroll bar.  So everything fits within the window and there should be no need for scroll bars in the project output.  But the recorded slides in the project do have scroll bars, and it looks like the font and other elements in the application are larger than they were when I recorded them.  I’m not changing my resolution after recording, and my applications are at 100%, so I’m not sure what is causing this.   Does anyone know how to avoid it? Here’s a simple example - if I wanted to record a google search. In previous Projects I would at times utilize a Highlight box within a simulation slide to block out content for the slide. Other times I would use a highlight box to include a picture to refer to. With Adobe Captivate 13 all of these things are now slightly transparent. Even when I I change the opacity to 0 and back to 100%. When I do this the simulation slide shows it is now back to the way it was in Adobe Captivate 12 but when I preview or publish it resets the highlight box back to slightly transparent. Does anyone know of a fix that doesn't involve swapping the highlight box for an instruction box? 

My colleague suggested clearing the cache because I was getting some weird numbering in quiz slides and I already had about 5 captivate files opened at the time I cleared the cache. Now, in the folder I originally had my files , I only have 1 out of 11. When searching for the files in the computer I see it the .cptx files somewhere but they have the explorer “e” icon instead of the captivate icon and I cannot open it. please help me! 

I’m working on a course that another developer recently updated. Any time I go to publish a new review link, I get the error “configure the correct response in the question slides in the project before creating the review”.But my problem is they all have answers… I’ve combed through them multiple times, and ensured an answer was clicked…The other developer mentioned the only change they made was that they deleted a question… So I’m wondering if captivate is now confused thinking there is still a question but just thinks it is missing an answer?Is there a fix for this? It tells me nothing so I have no idea what captivate thinks is missing an answer.  

Hello everyone,  I'm hoping that someone can offer some guidance on what to do here. I'm working in Captivate Classic 11.8.3 on MacOS 26. My Timeline in the app has recently turned all grey. It still works, but it is very hard to read because everything looks the same. Oddly enough, whenever I go to separate the timeline from the main Captivate window, it will display the expected colors only while dragging the Timeline. Whenever I let it go, it reverts to all grey.  I have run the preference clearing tool, cleared my cache, reinstalled Captivate, and tested on multiple projects, including demos from Adobe. It stays all grey no matter what I do. Does anyone have any ideas? I have a project that I really need to finish, and it is so hard to use the Timeline like this. See attached photo. 

Hi! I’m using the drag and drop widget. It’s supposed to be responsive, but when I preview it in mobile mode (or if I use a smaller browser window), the title and the body text are overlapping. I thought these boxes were supposed to auto adjust so that they don’t overlap? This is captivate V 13.0.0.168 which I think is the most recent release. mobile:  Desktop, small window: 

Hi All, I'm working on a training module that has a Captivate Classic interface with Resource buttons at the bottom of the layout. The buttons are updated with mapped URLs. The Actions are set correctly to the actual file names and all the Publishing Settings are adjusted properly before Publishing. Once the SCORM package has been saved and uploaded to Blackboard, I keep getting this error message and will not open the PDFs attached to the buttons.

Are there any roadmaps on what's coming or what's being developed for Adobe Captivate? As long time users me and my team have issues with Adobe Captivate not providing accessibility in accordance with WCAG and we have begun talking about moving to other authoring software. Before doing so I wanted to check what is planned for the next Adobe Captivate update.

Hello,In Adobe Captivate, it seems that components can be customized. For example, the Cards component only has 4 cards. How can I get more (I need 8)?The same goes for the Carousel component, which only allows 6 images. How can I get 8?Thank you.

How do I stop slide audio on captivate 13?

Hi all,  I am experiencing an error when trying to generate text to speech for a slide. I have tried it on a solo project with one simple sentence with no punctuation, and also in my project file with punctuation, neither worked. I keep getting an error but there is no explanation for the error, or if I try again then the generating audio bar will fill all the way but my Captivate will be frozen and I have to close it using Task Manager.  I tried restarting my PC multiple times and using empty projects. Nothing is working.  Has anyone else had this issue? I need text to speech to complete my project.
