During youtube scrolling I came across this video and found it very interesting.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=faXf48-wIWU&t=4sWhile it was clear the characters looked very much AI created, I couldn't figure out if this was just some quick AI creation. Does anyone has any idea as to how it's made? WHich softwares used. If at all taken help from some AI, which one exactly etc.
Hi community! I'm having issues creating new projects.I am receiving an error that tells me the program can't create a folder to save the projects:"The directory '\\Z95CFVS004\Home Folder\A-C' could not becreated. Please check the validity of the directory path orparent directory protection or permission rights." We are using work computers and my documents exists mirrored on a homefolder so I assume my account does not have permission to create a directory for new projects to save. The folders in Appdata Roaming and Appdata Local had no issues creating Character Animator folders. Is there a way to bypass this? Maybe change where the projects are saved by default?I tried to specify that the Character Animator program be installed on a drive I have full access on but it still insist creation projects under my linked documents folder. Any ideas and thoughts are very much welcome.
So I ran out of disk space while exporting a puppet and it caused Character animator to crash. Now it geve this error and won't reopen. I spent three days on it. Is there anyway to recover it? Are there any previous versions that I can recover?
O meu processador é um I5, não tô conseguindo usar o animator, aparece um erro, GPU, já pesquisei e vi que só roda a partir da geração 6, então preciso saber qual versão eu consigo trabalhar no animator ?

How do I stop my character from moving once I put it in position. I am using a recorded audio so I am assuming that the character should not be moving aside from mouthing the audio
I have rigged a nice large puppet in pro-mode (with all sorts of triggers and replays ready for use in starter-mode). I was thinking, that the character could just be rescaled in starter-mode.But that is not possible…Can I somehow resize the .puppet-file in pro-mode before importing into starter-mode?Or any other tricks? Thanks in advance
Hi ! I habitually finds all my solutions by myself, but this time, I dont understand what's happening.. tried so many thing to make the pupils works. The pupils wont move at all. After tagging Left pupil, Left pupil size, Left pupil Range. Nothing moves at all. (Blink works, Eyebrows works too). I can send my puppet file to help you understand my problem.
Hello,I found a thread from 2022 describing a similar issue which was resolved by somone on the Character Animator Team (Dan Tull, are you still out there?).I was editing a scene in my Character Animator project and the application crashed. I restarted but cannot reopen the project. Based on the 2022 thread I located the repo.noindex folder and tried changing the .rope filename to projectdata_old.rope but it did not fix the issue. Here is what I am seeing when I try to open the project file:Can someone on the Character Animator team please help?? Thanks in advance!Matt
This is a strange one, but whenever I use the lip sync feature, it leaves any "w" sound blank, instead of assigning the "W-Oo" viseme. I can manually assign the correct viseme, but I can't figure out why Character Animator isn't utilizing it when it processes lip sync. In the Lip Sync section of the behaviors panel, there are the same number of "W-Oo" visemes listed as the rest (my puppet has three of each, for different emotions), so it's not like the software doesn't recognize it. What really bakes my noodle is that it will use the "W-Oo" viseme for "ooo" sounds, but not "w" sounds. Also, I'm using transcripts with the audio files, so it definitely knows that these are w's.
Whenever I record, the triggers usually end up between frames instead of lined up with the beginning of each frame. Because my triggers often include a mix of keyframes and replays, which won't play back properly unless the start at the beginning of a frame. This means after recording, I have to manually go in and adjust each trigger to line up to the beginning of a frame before I can even watch what I've recorded, as the animations are broken until I do. Is there a way to make sure that whenever I activate a trigger, it automatically snaps to the closest frame? I've noticed that when dragging a trigger on the timeline, there's no way to place it between frames, so I'm not sure why when recording it does this.
I am panning a view from space to the ground in a long vertical canvas done in photoshop. I have the panning complete by just changing the y position from the top which is outerspace to the bottom the ground. My puppet remains in the scene starting in space to the ground. I am trying to keep him at the ground only to be revealed when I arrive. I attempted to use keyframes to keep him near the bottom and pop up just in view as our camera view approaches the ground but he does funny things like bounce and it is fairly hard to guess where to have him "appearing on screne" that looks normal. I am sure there are different methods and would love to hear from the community on this.
I'm trying to edit the rigging for a particular character through Adobe called, 'Heller'. When I follow Edit>Edit Original or Ctrl+E, photoshop attempts to open the file as a pdf which gives me no access to layer files and pastes as a .jpeg in photoshop. I'm wondering if anyone has a fix or knows what I'm doing wrong? I would really appreciate any help.
Hi everyone, I'm having problems using Tull (blue cat) as my main puppet. Whether in live view or having synced to an audio file, Tull's face remains at default and maintains a smile but his jaw is moving according to how I speak or how the audio file is speaking. I haven't really done anything to Tull and this problem occurred the minute I imported him to Character Animator. Can someone please let me know what I need to do, as I want to use him as a mascot in my videos. Thank you in advance!
I'm trying to use Puppets from Puppet Marker. So I selected a character and generate it after choosing transparent background. The puppet then enters into the timeline mode, but it has the unwanted background again. So I select transparent background in the triggers. Then when I import an audio voice file to the scene, the puppet's default background once AGAIN shows up behind the character. Why does Character Animator keep trying to give this puppet a background that I do not want? I want it to be and REMAIN transparent behind the puppet.
I am still using the puppet maker animal puppet and I am trying to add walking via the video okay samurai walking tutorial. I have some questions though. This premade puppet has one arm behind him and one in front of him as I look down the layer set up noting that one arm is not under body but seperate that stumped me as how to proceed through the video process if anyone has done this before and would be willing to share the extra steps needed or if it is to complicated I will just have to use another puppet at some point to get walking. Also my next question is it possible to add motion library to this puppet or is the motion library only available to those puppets that users have already created it with it perhaps a very involved process. Either way thank you! Loving this app so far but I am feeling like a baby learning it.
Hi, I'm using the free trial version of Character Animator, but I experience issues with importing a file like a .PNG, .PSD and .AI file. Regarding .PSD files, I converted a PNG file into a .PSD and .AI file by using online tools like psd converter, but when I click on "import" in Character Animator, the files aren't visible to select. I don't have .PSD files created in Photoshop so I can't try such files. What could be the problem? Thanks in advance!
I am trying to follow a couple different guides at making a looping turbulence displacement. I am trying to add the loopout cycles command but I was not sure if i had to use keyframes with it to make it work. I have keyframes for the evolutions at the start and end of my layer. The first key frame I left at 0 and the last key frame I put in 200 rotations. The wave does fine until around 2:45 seconds or so when it stops. Please advise.
Hello. I have a character I created using PuppetMaker that has three mouth sets (Default Mouth, Happy, Mouth, Sad Mouth all inside a "Mouths" group) and I have triggers set for them as a swap set. I can sucessfuly trigger them before recording and after I record them, the trigger changes show up on the timeline. However, when I play back the scene, the mouth style doesn't change. Only the default is shown. This also affects lip sync. The lip sync only shows up for the default mouth and the other two mouths don't activate during playback even when the timeline indicates a change. The "Mouths" group has no tag applied and each mouth set has a blue "Mouth Group" tag. If I tag the "Mouths" group with the "Mouth" tag, CH reports rigging issues for all the visemes in the Neutral and Sad mouth sets.Tagging the mouth sets with the "Mouth" tag doesn't make any difference. Any help appreciated.
Hello. I can't open any proyect. It shows an error everytime. I check the folder, but the file is there.
Hello everyone,I’m working on creating an avatar in Illustrator and importing it into Adobe Character Animator following the “Intro to Rigging” tutorial. I’ve attached two screenshots—one of my workspace and one from the tutorial—showing the green dashed line I’m referring to.Issue:I imported my Illustrator file into Character Animator (AI → Puppet). The body moves with the head correctly, and I added fixed handles to the feet. However, when I click on the Right Arm, no green dashed line appears connecting the arm to the torso, unlike in the tutorial screenshot.I also can’t manually create that connection—nothing turns green when I move the handle.Questions:Does anyone know why the green dashed connection line doesn’t appear automatically? If not, can you recommend another tutorial or explain how to set up the arm connection manually? Thanks in advance for any tips!Hila
Hello,I'm creating a flat 2D character in Adobe Character Animator and following all the official guidelines.Although I’ve carefully set up the layer structure, tagging, and applied all necessary behaviors – the body and arms don’t move at all, only the head is responding.I’ve watched several official tutorial videos, and there are things that don’t happen in my setup, for example:The character is supposed to move as one unit (head, body, and arms together), but in my case, only the head reacts. In tutorials, you can see a dotted line connecting the arms to the torso – I don’t see that line in my puppet. When properly connecting the arms to the torso with an origin handle, the entire body should turn green, indicating the connection – but that doesn’t happen in my case, even when I place the handles exactly as shown. What I’ve done so far:✔️ Added the Body behavior✔️ Tagged Left Shoulder / Right Shoulder✔️ Placed origin and dragger handles&#
Hello,I'm doing a project and I created a Swap set happy and sad, the sad one doesn't work at all, there is just no mouth, and for the happy one, only the profiles work well. The other ones could work but it's either hidden by the neutral mouth or the neutral happy is just blank.I know it's a common issue, but even with the answers from other posts, I still can't seem to fix it.If someone could help with this, that would be appreciated. It's not my personal project, so I can't share much, but here are some screenshots. (my software is in French sorry and some words are automatically translated by CA)
Receiving the following error. So far all other applications work on my computer except for Character (Ch). "Error in Ch version 25.0x46" "GPU Error: Updating your graphics card driver may fix this issue. See adobe.com/go/ch_gpu_error for details." "NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Laptop GPU (v......)"HRESULT error: The GPU device instance has been suspended. Use GetDEviceRemovedReason to determine the appropriate action."
Hello,I’m unable to use Adobe Character Animator—I keep getting error Ch 25.0x46. I uninstalled it and installed an earlier version, but the same error persists.I also deleted the following folders:C:\Users\<your_name>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Character Animator\25.0C:\Users\<your_name>\AppData\Local\Adobe\Character Animator\25.0\MediaCacheThat made no difference. I even updated the earlier version to the 2025 release—again, same issue. Thanks for your help.
