Not sure what this is all about. Went to launch the app and got these two. The smaller one first, and the bigger on afterward. Clicking the blue OK just closes it. Last session all I did was export a Scene. It all was normal. I've rebooted the machine and got the same. Thoughts? Thanks.
I have a Character Animator scene that is about an hour and a half. When loading that Ch project in After Effects, Adobe Ch Headless takes 12 GB of RAM. That's too much and causes a low memory warning in After Effects so I can only play previews that are less than 10 seconds. Is there anything I can do to make Character Animator use memory more efficiently?
For some reason when I export my character via character animator (or import via dynamic link in after effects) my character glitches out! When I tried to export it as a PNG sequence, or .mov file, or dyanmic link it, I get this weird problem with the legs and hips separating... it doesn't look like that in the viewport of Character Animator!HELP! I have not had this weird problem before 😞
Saludo, me gustaria saber porque no puedo colocar un video de fondo en adobe character animator. Eso seria genial, porque tener que grabar eso por separado y luego unir es un desastre. Ya que se puede colocar imagen, aunque sea habiliten como secuencia png. Imaginar Imaginar Imaginar.
Hey there,I'm having an issue with clipping masks, which im aware is a limitation of Character Animator recognizing clipping layer groups from Illustrator. Ive browsed all the previous community questions and answers regarding the issue (including Reddit and other tutorials) and have also submitted the requested change/update to Ch. Ive tried using the pathfinder crop tool (had to edit the strokes position to the outside line, otherwise i lost all the line work in the exposed area) but also saw no changes to layer structure or clipping of the characters mouth in Ch. Ive also attempted to use the clipping tool in the puppet menu in Ch. with no luck. Im hoping someone may be able to point me in the right direction, as ive spent more time then id like to admit getting the mouth sets organized (looks great in illustrator). Is there a way to remove the shapes that still exist outside the clipping mask, so they have no way to show in Ch.? Erasing them is tedious and also not very
I am having trouble making my single-unit body character walk. The character is a sheet of paper with arms and legs. (See attached.) When I use the arrow keys to make it walk it warps horribly. I narrowed it down to a flaw with the design, it's hierarchy, how I rigged it or how I've tagged it. :0 )I used both Footy and Eliza puppets for reference with hierarchy and tagging. (See attached) Does anyone have ideas what the problem is and how to correct it? I've uploaded the puppet to Adobe Cloud for you to examine.
Initially, the whole body (with the table included) would move, so I went into rig mode and used the pin tool. As you can see, I added the pins to the table so it wouldn't move. Now, my character doesn't move at all. Really, I just want the head to be able to move slightly. Nothing else. Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong.
Hello,I've read through all the forums and cannot find an answer to this question. I'm working off of a Windows 11. everything is up to date and using the latest version of character animator. but everytime I turn on the webcam it will turn on for 2 seconds then image will flip off then get a "waiting for camera message" even though the camera light is still on. my camera works on all other apps. Character animator is the only app that is open and i've tried restarting and uninstalling then reinstalling. im running out of ideas. PLEASE HELP

When I add a handle to the toes of my puppet's (independent) legs and tag them as toes, even though it's not a pin and not fixed, the toe cannot be moved along with the draggable ankle. The toes do move when the Walk behavior is used. How can I make the toes stop pinning? I have Limb IK and ground detection armed but not Initial Foot Pinning. Thanks.
Hello! I just purchased a 2022 Macbook Pro (Apple M1 Max chip with 10-core CPU, 32-core GPU, and 16-core Neural Engine, 64gb of Memory) and a simple scene (5 characters -- created in AI-- walking from point A to point B, then some dialogue) is painfully slow in preview. It starts at 24fps, immediately goes to 10fps, and goes all the way down to 4 fps at its worst. I opened up the activity monitor and saw that it is only using around 2-3gb of memory, and around 230-250%CPU. How do I optimize CH so that it is not so slow in preview? Thank you
Just created a character in Puppet Maker - Doppel option. Discovered in the control panel that the W Power sign is available for both right and left hands. Why? Can we expect to find a fascist salute in one of the replays? (edit: while trying to post this, I was told that I couldn't use the terms to describe the sign or the salute, but it is apparently ok to include the sign in the product!)
I cannot figure out why this isnt working...I am using Chloe to test full body rigging and I just can't figure out why it's not tracking my legs. It tracks my arms and head perfectly. I calibrated my full body, so its not a calibration issue. I changed lighting, removed any background objects, changed pants because I thought that the color may be interfering... I am also unable to drag her legs with the mouse, but i can drag the arms without an issue. Please help 🙂
How in photoshop do i take a head of a person and tilt it or rotate it so it looking directly at the other person sitting next to it. I have a photo with 2 peoples in it and each head is looking straight center. I like to take 1 of the person head and rotate it so it looking at the other person beside it. I hope i make it clear for you all.
Perhaps there is a better way of doing this, but it is eluding me. I am making a character that needs to be mostly hidden behind a clipping mask. The face has many layers that are included for expressions, etc. However, Since I can't use a clipping mask on a group, I would have to put the mask on each layer inside the group. That is cumbersom to say the least. Simple solution is to make a smart object out of the group and clip the mask to that. However, it seems Character Animator doesn't show smart objects. It will import fine, but nothing is shown.
Any ideas how to resolve? Thanks
I installed adobe character animator program but when i clicked on the free character a box showed said “Character Animator.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close.”Please help me to fix it ! 😞
Is there a way to purchase additional character animator templates? Thanks,Bill
Hello, I am working on a facial rig to be able to make eyebrow movements with the mouse. I managed to get them to go up and down individually and angle from their centered origin (with a hinge attachment). My issue is that I've add a third draggable handle to the mix to provide some minor bending at the inner brows if desired. I am able to get it to look right in the previewer, however once I record it plays as the opposite. I attempted to add a fourth handle towards the tail end of the brow and was successful in getting it to record properly - however in attempting to make good records it seems like I need to touch every single dragger on the eyebrow at every keyframe which makes consistency more tedious. Does anyone have any recommendations of what can be done better? (also yes my eyes are in their own layer, it had to do with making stuff draggable w/o camera input (before realizing the mouse input option can be used on my fully camera functional puppet).&
Hey guys!I am following Daves tutorial- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JL024_E1AUk&t=35,The problem I am having is that the character file is from 2019 and is out of date. When I go to save the Character from Illustrator, it pops up with a message "saving to a legacy format may cause some changes"; as soon as I click "okay", I go and check my Puppet in Character Animator and all of the pin tools and stick tools, as well as the Independant Layer Crown are gone! Is there a way to save it so these things don't disappear? Or should I just pause working on my own character and following the rigging tutorial and come back?I'm just worried that if I follow the rigging tutorial and save my project, it may reset again. Thanks
Hi, this is not my first puppet, but I am still a novice. I have a .ai puppet. I spent a couple days getting everything rigged and ready to go. But before I started recording, I thought the hand art looked a little off, so I went back into Illustrator and tweaked the finger positions a little. I DIDN'T CHANGE THE STRUCTURE, ANY LAYER NAMES, ETC. BUT when I went back into Character Animator, random layers were missing (an arm, a foot, part of a leg). They are still there in Rig mode, but they do not appear in Record mode. I tried going back into .ai and making other random tweaks to the artwork, and every once in a while different layers appear or disappear. It's really weird and annoying. Any ideas? I'm gonna keep trying stuff.
I've tried using sticks and making the table non-independent, but this glues the torso in place, and I'd like it to slide around. I've also tried pinning but to no avail. I see that the relationship between the origin and the origin of the parent (the top level puppet in this case) does make a difference, but I still can't find a placement that completely stops the table from warping.
Hi there, i am simply copy paste the existing character mouth and give it a new name (funny mouth) in PS as in the ss below: But after save and going back to CA, the character new mouth was used a same name as the copied one. How do i solve this? and let say it still a duplicate name, if i set different key for the trigger, do they still works?
We get frequent posts from users that cannot get the camera to work with Character Animator. I have my own set of troubleshooting tips, but I think it's far from comprehensive. Is there a HelpX topic for troubleshooting CH camera issues? If not, there should be. For the record, here are my tips: 1. Make sure that the camera is working in other apps. Check the drivers. 2. Close any other app that might be using a camrea, such as Zoom. 3. Open up the camera menu and make sure that your camera is selected. I could use some more tips.
