I would like to increase the stroke weight of all text across a manuscript. Do I need to select the text on one page at a time to change it, or is there another way? Is there a way to change all the text at once? One page at a time may produce errors, and if I need to change it again may become laborious. Any help would be appreciated.Thank you very much.Adam
Looking for someone with EasyCatalog expertise for one of my project in InDesign.
Engrossed in producing our first 4-color offset book, a lengthy volume on architectural history and the built environment, forced, by circumstance to attempt to execute this at the highest level possible, comparable to anything by, e.g., Taschen, Prestel. Have spent years in development, negotiating image usage rights and all this entails, partly with grant monies, but largely supported by our press. I've had extradinary referrals on assistance in the area of separations (color separations and accurate translation to print), but am in quite a bind now. WIthout getting too bogged in the details, I'll bullet some areas:▪ Printing with be in Latvia at Livonia Print. They run Heidelberg presses and have done, for example, the recent volume Carla Scarpa: The Complete Buildings for Prestel (London), exemplifying the quality they are capable of▪ Printing on Artic Volume White stock, 130gsm▪ The printer refers out to exactly one pre-press repro house, in Sweden▪ The Swedish
I have placed text boxes in the parent pages. I am now trying to place text in the regular pages. I am placing text from a Word document (in the attached screenshot it's just filler, but it's from a Word document, not from InDesign itself). You can see the blue line where I built the text box in the parent page. Nevertheless, when I place text, it fills in everything within the margins, not within the text frame. The only solution I have found is to manually create text frames on the regular pages and then flow through those. But this is a bad option because if I need to change the margins, I have to go through and manually do it for every single text box. I have tried overriding, that doesn't work. I have tried placing directly into "page 8" in the screenshot, that works for the one page, but on the next page it exceeds the text box again. Can you please advise? I find this frustrating - if you cannot simply place text within the text boxes set up on the parent pages, then what is the
Hi All, I generate XML from the content component tool. I want to to import this XML in Adobe InDesign. Good morning everyone,is it possible to include the section number in the cross-references? I can't find the option in the drop-down menu when I create the cross-reference format.
Is there a way to make the text flush left to the text box?I thought I could make the adjustment in Text Frame Options, but I cannot seem to find it.
Indesign works normally for some time but then it crashes when i do simple text editions (like adding space etc) or try to create new pages with automatic/manual linked text frames. I already uninstalled and reinstalled it, restarted my computer, created a new document and added text from 0, but it keeps happening. I sent tons of error reports. Don't know what to do anymore and i have an urgent work to deliver. Is anyone having the same issue? This is one error report: <?xml version="1.0"?><!DOCTYPE AdobeCrashReport SYSTEM "AdobeCrashReporter.dtd"><crashreport serviceVersion="26.5.0.202506270759_7140322" clientVersion="26.5.0.202506270759_7140322" applicationName="InDesign" applicationVersion="20.5.0" build="20.5.0.48" source="Windows-Client-WER" crashType="n/a"><time year="2025" month="9" day="4" hour="9" minute="23" second="45" timeoffset="-180" timezone="Hora oficial do Brasil" crsessionduration="1756988625"/><user guid="3e34810a-1db6-4166-ae82-
Can someone help me figure out why is the Indent here? the first line Indent is at zero
I don't classify these as true problems that impact my productivity or ability to deliver product, but they are things that I have never experienced before (despite profile status I have been using for many years). Reasonably certain this has occured on two different machines so I am not inclined to think its anything to do with corrupt preferences etc. The most persistent issue would be the dialog box labeled "Open 1 Documents" that won't disappear despite no documents being open. Sometimes I can get it to disappear by reopening the document that I just closed, (opening a document is what causes this dialog box to pop up sometimes). A number of times this has occured prior to getting the "serious error" shutdown. I am also gettng the scrambled text that has been an issue for others per historical posts. I eliminated the possibility that it is due to duplicate text boxes. Often occurs when applying paragraph composer to a specific paragraph. Used to be able to solve text scrambling on
Hi,I edit InDesign document and I wonder should color settings be RGB or CMYK. I will need to use this work in digital and print both. I will make it specific CMYK in export but in working space should it be RGB or CMYK?Thank you so much!

I need to travel with a new MacBook. Transferring the user settings from my desktop computer, using File>user settings>export user settings and importing the file gives me the error message 'Incompatible locale detected. Please choose a valid file to proceed.' I've ensured that both versions are up to date and the same. The date/time is the same. I have no idea where to go from here. <Title renamed by MOD>
Hi, I am wondering how do I get those Red (Close), Orange (minimise) and Green (epand) Buttons to return on the too in Indesign since they are missing????? Also its not allow me to drag the whole window to my other screen since everything is stuck on the top. I have tried reinstalling Indesign and that has not fixed it. Those buttons are on my other applications. I have attached a screen shot. Thanks
How do I tag a large number such as a 13 digit ISBN - so that a screen reader reads it as individual digits rather than a single nuneral?
I have twenty ID files, all needing to go to print PDF. Is there a script or way to just select the files and output in one shot?
I've been working with several documents and noticed that the text boxes aren't visually aligned, which results in a distorted or uneven text layout. Interestingly, the issue seems to "resolve" itself when I zoom in to 180% or higher. I'm wondering if there's a proper fix for this, or if anyone else has experienced something similar?
I ran into what I believe is a bug just now, but would like confirmation.(1) Create text box and add a stroke (add inset or other formatting to make it look nicer if you like).(2) Insert text as well as an anchored object into that text.(3) Change the blend mode of the stroke of the text box.For me, in InDesign 2015.4 on a Mac, the anchored object is given the blending mode of the stroke as well. I would expect that to only affect the stroke, and none of the content within the box. The anchored graphic I'm inserting doesn't even have a stroke. I tried this in a new file with different content and got the same result.I'm hoping that I'm missing something obvious. I'd like to keep this with everything in neat, single, self-contained, and auto-fitting boxes. The effect I'd like is for the stroke of the text box only to blend (multiply) with a background. The workaround I'm considering is doing the stroke as an outer glow instead, but I'll have rounded corners. Thanks,Rich
Does anyone know if there is a dedicated tool for recording and managing tasks and workflows in ID. So that required tasks can be monitored, how much has been completed etc. etc.I found this:https://www.aedev.tools/tools/taskflowBut it seems to be for Mac, and the author is not responding to messages. I know a way to make handle this manually but would like a dedicated tool for automation, if there is one. Thank You
Hello, My CC library has never worked properly. This is a shared library across our company. The library populates all colors and images when opening either InDesign or Illustrator, but when I go to apply anything within the library, nothing happens. I've narrowed it down to a user/computer issue as other users who uses the same library, have no issues. I have taken many actions to fix this myself but have not made any progress. 1. Uninstall and reinstall CC desktop app.2. CC Cleaner tool run 1: Library installations only.3. CC Cleaner tool run 2: Cleaned all installations. I've attached a screen recording what happens when using the CC library within InDesign. I'm at my wits end here. Does someone have a solution to my problem?
Hey,I was checking the document, and i saw that the index was created manually, and i was wondering if it was possible to create an automatic index without losing the style it has. I put this little detail, since I would love to keep they way it looks, and my fear that it might look like a table of content of a book.
I'm looking to export from one InDesign document multiple double-sided pdfs, as separate pdfs. By double-sided I mean 2 x single pages together in one pdf – not double-page spreads. Here's the situation – I frequently work for large companies to produce printed graphics for events. We often do things like double-sided food and drinks menus, double sided drinks coasters, double-sided postcards, gift cards etc. Quite often we have the same design being used across multiple items but with individual variations. For example, 20 x drinks coasters, all with the same colours, same font styling, same format, same logo placement but with a different message on each one. So I usually set these up in InDesign to make use of the master layouts and paragraph/character styles incase I need to change any of the styling, which then updates all of them in one go. That's all well and good. However, when it comes to printing them, I need to combine the front and back (of one drinks coaster
I've been publishing online magazines for an organisation that I volunteer for for some time now and it works well, but on the latest issue I've had a query about someone who wants to download a PDF version. I have never really bothered about this because I don't see the point as it's a digital online edition and why would you want to download as a PDF. Anyway, this person is pointed out that when they download the PDF version none of the interactive elements work and they are presented with blank pages where the interactive elements should be.My missing something obvious or is this not supported.https://indd.adobe.com/view/c40714f7-7326-459d-a375-f6a5d1985f2c
