Hi. When inserting a table within a text frame, is there any way to ensure that the para style that the table is inserted into is always a particular style?For example, I have two para styles – Style A and Style B. Is there a way that I can ensure that an inserted table is always inserted into a Style B para, automatically? So the “container” para style, if you will, will always be Style B?Hope that makes sense!Thanks in advance.

Hi,I am using Indesign, and I have a gradient rainbow textbox. It was all fine but I then realised I needed to change my background colour to black because I had the paper colour changed to black and it wasnt exporting to a pdf properly. I fixed that issue and change the background to black but now my gradient rainbow textbox has turned brown. I dont know what happened and no one seems to have had this problem before. I have tried remaking the box and nothing is working. I also have a gradient rainbow text (just letters, no background text box) and that is fine. What do I do?Thanks,Greer

Let’s say I have two page items in my document: a circle and a square. I move the square so its top left corner is in the centre of the circle. I cut (cmd-X) the square. It’s gone. I select the circle and I “Paste Into” (cmd-alt-V).The square is now clipped by the circle frame:So, I want to do that via the scripting API. With the above example, I can select the circle and do:$.writeln(app.activeDocument.selection[0].rectangles.length)and the result is 1, which is correct. There is one rectangle IN that circle. What I want to know is… how do I put the square in the circle via ExtendScript or UXP? It must be easy, but I can’t quite get it. I want `myPageItem.rectangles.add` to do it, but it only seems to want a Layer, which makes no sense.– Mark

After a recent update, my InDesign is now showing all these stupid pop-ups the whole time. Screenshot attached.  To be absolutely clear, I am talking about the entire dialogue box, not the tool-tip illustrateed in a section of the dialogue box shown.   How do I kill them off once and for all ?  I've looked through Preferences but canot spot anything obvious.       <Title renamed by MOD>

Following up on the previous question:If the font size and text box height remain constant, is there a simple formula for calculating line spacing and the number of lines? For example:A text box has a fixed height of 100 mm and a font size of 12 points. With 17 lines of text, the appropriate line spacing is 16.8 points.If the font size and text box height remain constant but one line is added (for a total of 18 lines), how to I calculate the new leading(15.8)?Is there a simple formula for this? 

Hi really hoping someone can help with the misery I’ve had all week. For the past few months I’ve been uploading portfolios from Indesign to Adobe Cloud. This week it’s suddenly stopped working. I’ve attached the error code I get and have searched all the other threads mentioning this specific error and nothing works :(There’s enough space in my account to upload the file (I deleted some files just in case that was the issue). I’ve tried uploading different files but anything more than a text doc gets the same error message. Logged out of everything and logged back in – no change. Used different wifi networks – no change, still the same error message.Can anyone provide any help before I go insane? Been trying for 3 days now and am completely out of ideas 

Some comments are not showing when I upload them to InDesign, it’s like they appear on the list, but you don’t know where exactly and can’t accept them, or can but it does nothing, so I have to keep the PDF opened in Acrobat and go checking where’s the correction, it’s not wrongly marked, because it’s not everything, just some, it happens from time to time, then when it seems they fixed it, suddenly it starts happening again, it’s really time consuming. Is there a workaround?

Usind latest ID version on Sequoia on two different silicon Macs (Mac Mini M4, Macbook Pro M4 Pro) – neither recognizes the GPU in Indesign (greyed out in ID Setting menu). Performance is kind of choppy as a result (I guess). Other Adobe apps, Photoshop, Illustrator, work flawlessly and recognize the GPU. Is this a known issue?   <Title renamed by MOD>

You share for review doesn’t work. There are ton of comments my clients have put on the review link but none of them are showing now.Why do you keep releasing these untested garbage features, if it can’t work at a basic level.

How do I set up an A5 novel? So I have my Word doc but can't seem to get the InDesign to set up properly; I can't seem to get any templates of what I need either. It's just an A5 fiction novel, about 300 pages in a Word doc. Can someone help or even make a simple template or anything...? Thanks

i created an image in 1600x2400px @150ppi and relink to a 1600x2400 web document with 50px margin, but somehow the effective ppi went down to 75 ppi. Actual ppi still remain 150. This is driving me crazy, Please help.

I have preflight set to flag images that are below 300dpi.  it works great except for one vector Illustrator file that it keeps flagging.  It’s vector, so it has no resolution?  this is the only vector image file it flags.  here are screenshots of the images, the preflight panel, and the preflight settings.  Why is it flagging this vector file as low res?

Environment: Adobe InDesign 2026, Book file with multiple documents and cross-references between separate INDD files.Has anyone successfully renamed Book documents while preserving cross-reference destinations, or is there a recommended workflow for this scenario?

Boa noite a todos!Toda vez que insiro imagens dentro do meu InDesign o mouse trava no ícone de carregando mesmo que eu ainda consiga mexer e selecionar coisas dentro do programa, mas quando tento inserir texto não aparece nada, ai preciso salvar meu arquivo e fechar, fechar o programa com o gerenciador de tarefas e abrir novamente para que volte ao normal. Segue um vídeo em anexo mostrando como o programa está reagindo após inserir 6 imagens em uma página qualquer. Poderiam me ajudar? Is there a way without using scripting, to simply take, say 10 single indesign files (all just single 3.5x2 business card layouts) and export them to a pre-defined PDF preset resulting in 10 single PDF's? (other than one at a time?)I tried a few things from Acrobat 9 pro, one of them being File/export/export multiple files/  thinking that must be the ticket, but1) I can't find my pre-defined PDF preset in the "export to dropdown list" (but thats secondary, probably can add that in somehow, right?) and2) even when I just pick PDF/a or PDF/x it starts the process, then tries to open each indd doc but a message comes up saying it can't open the INDD  file(s) and nothing was processed.Can someone help me with this?Thank you.

Suddenly, my InDesign is giving me 110 Pre-Flight errors, all saying that my Segoe UI font is missing.  It appears in the document OK but how do I get rid of the error messages and assuage the software?  Do I somehow reinstall the font? 

I am working on a complex book with an index. This book has several conditions. When I make the index, InDesign still includes the index markers of the hidden conditional text. How can I make it only include the index markers of the visible conditional text?For example, the two highlighted items relating to C-Zone switching are in hidden conditional text and should not be included in the index.
