Since the version 20, InDesign has been struggling to deal with hyperlinks in the footnotes, which leads the app to crash. This topic is related here since the 2019 CC and it doesn’t get resolved. It's been challenging to get work done with these kinds of problems. I’ve already reinstaled InDesign, disabled Windows Updates and One Drive, deleted preferences, and none of that seems to work. Please, can someone give me a hint on how to deal with it?
I have an InDesign 2025 sdk project that I’m migrating to InDeisgn 2026 sdk but I´m having problems with the K2Vector changes. I don´t know where to start, I already add the header and lib routes but Idon´t know if I´m missing something or all the error are related to code changes that I need to made. this is the error that the compiler throw:Undefined symbols for architecture arm64: "K2Internals::K2VectorBase<InterfacePtr<IPMUnknown>, K2Allocator<InterfacePtr<IPMUnknown>>>::DoCleanup()", referenced from: std::__1::unique_ptr<K2Vector<InterfacePtr<IPMUnknown>, K2Allocator<InterfacePtr<IPMUnknown>>>, std::__1::default_delete<K2Vector<InterfacePtr<IPMUnknown>, K2Allocator<InterfacePtr<IPMUnknown>>>>>::~unique_ptr[abi:ne200100]() in TextWarpSuiteASB.o std::__1::__shared_ptr_pointer<K2Vector<InterfacePtr<IPMUnknown>, K2Allocator<InterfacePtr<IPMUnknown>>>*, std::__1:
I have a 300 page document that is fairly complex, meaning that it has many text boxes. My client asked for a docx file of the text. If I export to a PDF and try to do it in Acrobat, Acrobat crashes. I know I can copy out of the story editor, but that would require dozens of manual copies because there are so many text boxes. Is there a better way to do this? Thanks!
I think I was almost scared to death.Today I seem to have caused another big trouble because of regularization. The reason is that a few days ago, when I was using regularization, I didn't pay attention to the search scope and replaced the entire document. I didn't know at the time, but now I have discovered it.The tragedy happened like this, luckily the book hasn't been printed yetI was scolded badly by my boss.I found that when storing regularization, I selected the scope of "article", but when I choose to use it again, if I don't pay attention, its scope will change to "document".Ah, I'm getting old and dizzy. Can we limit the search scope in a regular “myreg.xml” file?Let it be implemented, if not manually changed, the default scope is' article '
I’m trying to create my first cross reference (which I’ve never done before). Instructions for doing it through Type / Hyperlinks & Cross References say:Create a text anchor: open the Hyperlinks or Cross‑References panel menu → New Hyperlink Destination → choose Type: Text Anchor → name the anchor and click OK.But it won’t let me name the anchor. All the drop-down shows is [None]. I’ve also tried creating a name anchor through Windows / Interactive / Hyperlinks. I seem to have successfully created a name anchor there, but when I use Type / Hyperlinks & Cross References to create the link it doesn’t show up in the Text Anchor names.
Hi there. Since updating to this version I’ve been having an accessibility issue and wondered if I should be rolling back to a prior version? It now adds unnecessary "span" tags to my PDF documents exported from InDesign, which is interfering with their accessibility and requires too much manual processing to correct. The steps I'm following are:1. Create a bullet list in inDesign using paragraph styles.2. Ensure the export tag for that paragraph style is set to "automatic".2. Export to PDF, selecting "Create a Tagged PDF".3. When opening the PDF in Adobe Acrobat Pro, the nesting order for bullet lists should be: List > List Item > Label and List Item Body.4. However, after the update it's now adding "span" tags under every "label" folder."Span" is an inline-level tag used for styling or formatting, it's not meant for structural elements like list labels. This is laborious to have to fix manually, even more so given I generally make a second, text only version of all my PDFs.Grate
On two of my documents, I can no longer overwrite them as I get error 33. I don’t have any proxies as suggested by the help. All I did was remove some text, so there is no reason for it to not like t he updated document. I have InDesign 21.4 x64. Running windows 11
Avez-vous des tips à me partager ?Merci !Sol Hello,I’m working currently on a double-entry book (not sure of the english term) : readable both way. Way 1 apge x1 to x160, way 2 (book returned to be from left ro right again) page y1 to y160. I have difficulties with the layout. For now, I have 2 indesign files, one for the recto, the other one for the verso. The idea would be to merge these 2 files, b
Hello Adobe Support, We are setting up Adobe InDesign Server on an AWS EC2 instance using our FRL-Online license. We selected IP-address-based activation during license setup, and Adobe shared a range of IP addresses with us. Before configuring our AWS networking, we need clarification on how this IP range is used. We are torn between two interpretations: Approach 1 — Outbound (our IPs):The provided IPs belong to our infrastructure, and Adobe expects the activation request to come from one of them. We must assign one of these IPs to our EC2 (e.g., as an Elastic IP) so Adobe sees activation traffic originating from an approved IP. Approach 2 — Inbound (Adobe's IPs):The provided IPs belong to Adobe's licensing servers, and Adobe will initiate the activation request to our EC2. We should allow inbound traffic from these IPs and ensure our EC2 is reachable. Could you confirm: 1. Which approach is correct for FRL-Online activation?2. Does our EC2 need a public IP / Elastic IP attached direc
I am experiencing a serious issue with InDesign Share for Review and need assistance recovering review comments.I created an InDesign document and shared it using Share for Review. Around 10 collaborators participated and left more than 200 comments. More than a week later, I reopened the file to apply the feedback, and all comments were loading and working normally. While working on the document, my internet connection was temporarily interrupted for a few minutes. After the connection was restored, the review stopped working. The comments no longer appear in InDesign, the review seems to have disappeared from my account, and the original review link no longer works for any of the collaborators. As a result, more than 200 comments from approximately 10 reviewers have become inaccessible.Could you please investigate whether the review data can be recovered or restored from Adobe's servers? Since the comments were available and functioning normally before the connection issue, I believe t
Since the latest update InDesign has become very sluggish, especially when hyperlinks need to be modified. When trying to open the hyperlinks menu, it takes at least a minute to open, and any changes such as selecting a drop-down option, or placing a hyperlink, produces the same effect. Also, just loading new InDD docs takes longer.I'm running Win11 with 64 GB RAM, with plenty of drive space available. Before the latest update, InDD was somewhat slow, but not like it is now. This is very frustrating.
I have som of my dokuments in a indesign-book not being able to “share for review”.It started yesterday, while i started making several links for review to a client. Some om them are not being possible to generate, asking med to type a name of the link, because the service does not get the indesign documents name automatically.Additionally when checking the links online, alle text is in ukrainian. All my settings in CC and acrobat desktop (mac) is in english language. It seems så fare that this is only happening on parts of Acrobats services… Anyone that knows what is wrong? Thanks in advance!
Hi everyone,I am experiencing a persistent issue where endnote hyperlinks do not work in the exported PDF, whereas all other standard hyperlinks in the document work perfectly. Inside InDesign, the endnote links appear normal and intact. Here are the details of my environment and what I have already tried: Versions Tested: I have tested this on both InDesign 2025 and InDesign 2026 versions, but the issue persists in both. Export Settings: Tried exporting as both Adobe PDF (Interactive) and Adobe PDF (Print) (making sure the "Hyperlinks" checkbox is checked in the General settings). Still, endnotes remain unclickable in the PDF. Troubleshooting Done: Updated and synced all links. Exported the document as an IDML file to clear any potential corruption, re-opened it, and re-exported to PDF. Copied the text/content into a brand-new InDesign document and tried exporting again. None of these steps resolved the issue. Since it occurs across both 2025 and 2026 versions, I susp
Need help to download an InDesign 2018 installer. I can't find it anywhere on the website. I have upgraded my old laptop (Dell Inspiron 14 N4050) to windows 10 and I can't find my CC installer anymore. Please please please
The Media window/panel out of the interactive group in InDesign disappears after each restart of InDesign from the workspace since the upgrade to version 21 (yes, since 21.0 but I’m now using it more often so it got annoying). When I add the Media panel to any sidebar (as open or collapsed… any position or group, it doesn’t make a difference) it’s always gone again after an InDesign restart, even if I specifically save it to a workspace. I’m on Windows 11 if that matters. Has anyone else this issue or is it just me? Any solutions for it to stay included? Another related question - Now by default, if I add a video to a frame, the poster frame is empty by default and I have to change it to “From current frame” every single time. In the old version (20.x) I could change the default so it would always take the current frame as poster frame. I haven’t figured out how to do that with 21.x. Is it possible and how? Thanks for your help.
I’m experiencing a very frustrating situation where i try to open an old 2004 .indd file in InDesign2026…Any idea opening this file would be welcome. Not convinced at all it is corrupt… just a generic message.opening the file through context menu “open with” Message from InDesign stating “InDesign has detected the file was corrupted. Would you like us to repair it? It will be temporarily processed on our servers. YES/NO” Pressing YES New message stating “Impossible to repair. You are not connected to CreativeCloud. Connect with your ID, restart and try again” Done, but I was already connected. Retried anyway, still the same messages and failure. Upon quitting Indesign a little bit dispaired, i get an exception message. Alas, resigning !!!
Over the last week or so everytime I launch InDesign I am met with the attached dialog box. "You cannot reverse this change with the Edit > Undo command" It is persistent and getting worse. It will now launch randomly whilst I'm working. It is making InDesign almost unusable and destroying my worklfow and concentration. How on earth can I stop this occuring? I've tried Resetting Warning Dialogs to no avail. I've seen this posted elsewhere without any solution. Can someone at Adobe please respond – its driving me nuts.
The new context break feature in 21.4 has a bug. Being able to map a paragraph style to an <hr /> tag is terrific. It is a massive improvement for EPUB developers. That said, there is a bug. When an assembled image (like a series of grouped items, or similar) are set to rasterize as a context-break image, and the paragraph tag that it sits in is set to export as an <hr />, the image goes missing. As this is a very common in trade publishing, it would be useful to address this issue.
Today Adobe InDesign (current version) won't find two of my installed fonts: Montserrat Bold and Montserrat Regular. These fonts are actively installed on my Windows 10 PC, and I even tried syncing them from Adobe Fonts, but nothing worked. It shows that the fonts are active in Adobe Creative Cloud and InDesign, yet it still appears missing and substitutes it with Minion Pro. Here are the steps I've tried:Restarting InDesignStarting a new document (the font is still missing in new documents as well)Reinstalling the font from Google Fonts (and installed it for all users)Syncing the font from Adobe Fonts (it says the font is active, but it is still missing)Signing out of Adobe on my PCRestarting my PCClearing my InDesign preferences and cache I've confirmed that the font appears and works in:Adobe IllustratorAdobe PhotoshopMicrosoft Word Any help would be appreciated. I've never encountered this error before in all my years of using InDesign. System:Windows 10 ProVers
I’ve cleared preferences through library, and when starting indesign. It has several bugs randomly appearing. eg. Suddenly can’t undo, takes ages to quit, there’s a slight delay importing images...
Hello, after InDesign's latest update, I can't use shortcuts like alignment and object docking without selecting and grouping objects. What is causing this and how can I fix it? It's very difficult to work without shortcuts. I checked the preferences section and everything seems normal.
I have a paragraph style with an OTF Stylistic Set enabled. When creating a character style, there is no option to disable this Stylistic Set — or to specify that no Stylistic Set should be used at all.The font I’m using already uses all 20 Stylistic Sets, so selecting a different, unused set is not an option. Can anyone help, please?
Last month, I finalized an InDesign file that features a lot of precisely-sized text fields and tables. It was all perfect, good-to-go for this month’s deadline. I went into the file a few days ago to make a minor edit, and suddenly the Open Sans font was behaving very strangely - InDesign made it look like the Bold instance was missing altogether, and any time I added or deleted text anywhere in a field or table that used Open Sans, the field or table reacted as if I were inserting a font of a larger size, and the carefully designed field and table bounds were exceeded, creating hundreds of overflow errors across the document.I have tried: Re-installing Open Sans on my computer (and restarting), both trying the variable variety and the static variety of the four instances (regular, bold, italic, bold italic) the document uses. I restarted between each attempt. Following the advice of our office's most experienced InDesign user, I installed the Open Sans family through Adobe Creative
I saved my Indesign Book doc to a new folder on my computer. Adobe moved it to the cloud instead which I never to. I always choose to my computer. How do I get it back? The instructions I have found are as follows: Locating Your InDesign File in the CloudTo retrieve your InDesign file that may have been saved to the cloud, follow these steps: 1 Log into Adobe Account: Go to the Adobe Creative Cloud website or open the Creative Cloud app. 2 Check Cloud Storage: Look for your saved files in the cloud storage section. Your InDesign document should be listed there if it was saved as a Cloud Document.I logged in but cannot find the ACC website nor open the CC app and I don’t want it. I do not want to purchase anything else. I also find the web sites very sparse of direction or information. How do I get my doc back, since I created a new folder for it and it is not here? Thanks
