I have transferred workspaces from machine to machine numerous times. You simply copy the workspace located under User>Library>Preferences>Adobe ID>Version#>en_US>Workspaces and paste it into the same location on the new machine. Restart the program, and it should be under the workspace dropdown.This is not working for me. I have tried it multiple times and restarted the program/computer, but nothing seems to be working. Has anyone else had this issue?

Hello there, I am trying to export a Indesign file and, while everything seems normal in the process, a window pops up saying there was an error, specifically Error 18….have you ever experienced or are you currently having such an issue? Do you have any suggestion?Thanks a lot for your help, we have been struggling with this since yesterday, it’s not a matter of device nor internet connection (even tho this error seems to be related to the status of the connection, my wi-fi works well), maybe something related to our adobe account? Hi everyone... here I am with another strange request.When I work on a project with a few pages, I create it with single pages and then I place them side by side leaving 1 cm of space between them, so I can see the result at a glance.But if I have a complex project with many pages, I create it using the side by side pages option. But there is a problem, when I export for printing, the page elements on the edges overlap and create problems.My question is this: can a document with side by side pages be dismantled and the pages separated, but leaving them on the same plane? The separation must only move the right and left pages away from each other along the horizontal axis.I leave an example image.I tried some scripts but they don't work

Hello, I've just reset my InDesign preferences (in case that was the source of my problem) but that did not change anything.Every time I go in "edit > shortcuts", InDesign immediatly stop to respond and I have to force-quit it....  Im on Mac OS Sequoia (and i've just upgrade my OS a few days ago, maybe it's because of this?)Anyone having the same issue ?

Hello there, im working on a file in InDesign where ich now switch all linked images to our CC Libraries. For this i created Libraries in Adobe CC with subfolders for tne different labels and images Now when i want to place from the CC Libraries in InDesign it shows me only the Parent Folder and throws everything in the subfolders together. It looks like a mess and i want to know if this is intended or am i doing something wrong? It does not feel like a good workflow for me to search with my eye for every single image. How do i get the same Folder with subfolders visible in InDesign? Thanks.

InDesign is giving me an Error 39 when publishing online. I have updated my InDesign, tried publishing different files and tried multiple networks and computers (PC and Mac) same error.

Basically what the title says. I have 24 out of 28 pages with textual information, but i am unable to package the document, and my file shows 0 links 

For example, Arial, my fonts Regular, bold, and Italic may come from different versions or providers.Sometimes, in ID, they don't even appear under the same option.So my font management is confusing.I'm all for keeping only fonts from the same version now.Is there a site that packages them together like this, free would be best.Much appreciated.

I am researching a way to streamline a process. I will get a data file with up to 300 columns and over 400 rows in excel. I need a couple of things to happen:Each column needs to be its own page with the corresponding rows info. For the sample, I can do this by creating separate pages and manually putting the data fileds in, but cannot do this for 300+ pages.Can we have the column title (name) information show in said entry? I have attached the pdf sample of what I am looking for, salmon highlight is Column, pale yellow is the row. I have also included the data files I am using. Any help wouled be appreciated.

For a multi-line edit box control, once the control gains input focus,  within the control or on the screeis there a way to get the current caret (text cursor) positionn? I’m not looking to get the cursor position in the text flow, but rather the cursor's position within the control or on the screen.The kTextEditBoxWidgetBoss includes an ICursorRegion interface, but I’m not sure how to use it. From the functions provided by that interface, it doesn't seem to offer what I need.Has anyone had experience with this? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am a graphic designer for a printing company and I process a LOT of mailing files (barcoded imprint files which must be kept in order by the end of production). Years ago I found an excellent script which allows me to import multiple pdf pages in whatever position on a page I need them. This has been very helpful because I can export the barcoded imprint files as a pdf and import the pdf and keep it in order so that when the files are printed and cut, the imprint files are in order for sorting into trays:i.e. a 5 x 7 postcard with 400 addresses prints 4-up on 11 x 17 stock; when this is printed and cut to size, I want to have addresses 1-100 in position 1 (upper left corner) so that the first stack is the first 100 postcards; position 2 (upper right corner) would have addresses 101-200, etc. This works perfectly for PDF files which I can import using the script; however, I have recently been asked to use EXCEL files rather than pdfs and while I can do a data merge with multiple

Love the table interlocking coloring, but the spanning of the rows isn't very pretty.It's a lot of volume and not regular, can you automate it? Can you share the styles you were able to fill out? 

I have a really unusual issue, and I was wondering if anyone here had run into this before.  I am using Adobe InDesign 2021, and trying to use the Cross Reference function.  The process itself works fine.  My issue occurs with the Cross Reference Format. The format selections are all in a foreign language.  I was able to set up the reference, and the text itself is in English, as that is the language my InDesign is set too.  However, the reference is formatted following the punctuation rules of the foreign language- so the quotes do not follow English formatting.  I cannot find how to change the options for this dropdown, and every language option I can find are all set to English.  I have even uninstalled and reinstalled InDesign, with no change.  A co-worker does not have this issue. Hello, I have been tasked at my company with editing our emplyee training handbook. This will require massive editing, moving, placing, and deleting of large chunks of text and pictures. I am trying to at first just put the document into the program so I can explore some editing options, however I am running into an issue. I have created a new document with the Primary Text Frame and I am trying to Place the document into the main text frame. It comes out, jumbled (though I figured this would require clean up), but only the first 30 pages. This is about a 300 page document. I wanted to see if anyone could offer some insight as to how I would go about getting my entire document into Indesign. Thank you so much for your help!

SOLVED: I've struggled with this issue many times, and I've finally found a new solution! You can break up your work into separates, smaller files (Indesign does this when its internal undo/snapshot system has glitched). There's a way to move individual pages to a fresh, uncorrupted file:   (1) Make 6 new documents of the same dimensions with one blank page each.  (2) Go into the pages panel in the original file and click the hamburger. (3) Go to "Move pages". (4) Insert a range (eg. 1-50) and then "Move to..." your fresh document. (5) Repeat this a few times (50-100, 100-150, 150-200...) until you get to 300.       For 300 pages, it's probably best to break it up in 50's.   This should allow all of your links, swatched, layers, etc to transfer to the new document without having to copy+paste or export.

Help I am working on a product catalogue and I use datamerge. Everything went well untill i started to use text frames ( the black and white textboxes ). it seems that after the merge, Indesign adds some bullcrap empty space, it looks like literal empty non-breaking-spaces. Whenever I change a random setting it suddenly randomly jumps to it's intended position, this makes me feel like it's a bug or something.the empty space seems to be pushing the inline items away. I didnt put anything like this in the template and the data merge file is clean. anybody have any idea what's going on?
