Hi all. I’m presently using a GREP within a style to automatically put words in Title Case. Here’s the GREP:Apply Style: UPPERCASE to text: \b[\u\l]However this also puts characters immediately after an apostrophe (ie in the same word) in uppercase, for example UK’S and They’Re. Any way of creating an exemption within my GREP to keep characters immediately after an apostrophe in lower case?
I saved a document from my Adobe files to my computer, but whenever I try to open it, the application crashes with a fatal error. Does anyone have a solution?
II use the Turkish version of InDesign. Can I install the English and Arabic supported version on my computer?
Sometimes my table doesn’t quite fill the text box, so I have to manually adjust the row height, which takes several attempts and is quite a hassle. Is there a way to use a script to adjust the row height of the table body so that the text box is quickly aligned at the bottom?
Acrobat, Illustrator, and all other apps print without any issues. The HP M806 printer driver sends jobs correctly to the local IP address, the printer app is installed, and all required settings are available. However, when printing from InDesign, the pages come out completely blank—no toner on the paper—while all other applications work normally.Workaround:Select “HP Universal Printing PS” as the printer in InDesign. This reroutes the job and does produce correct output. It is slower than printing normally, but still faster than exporting to PDF and printing from Acrobat.
Hi everyone ~I have a question—I’m not sure if there’s a solution:I have multiple versions of Photoshop, but sometimes I only want to use the version located in a specific directory. For example, “C:\Ps2026\Photoshop.exe”.Is there a way to use a script in InDesign to open an image using the this specific path Photoshop.exe ?You can copy the directory containing the installed Photoshop.exe to the C drive to test it.Thank you.
Since a week or two I often don’t see a document name when I try to save a document. So I open an older document and when I try to ‘Save as’ the document name spot is empty. See screenshot. Behind ‘Bewaar als:’ there usually is the document name! There also is no document name when I try to save the document as a pdf. Not all documents have this problem: some do and some don’t.I wonder why there is no document name with some documents… and of course I also wonder how I can prevent this from happening. Is there a setting I accidentally enabled or disabled…?I am on macOS and use the latest version of everything.
I’m having a major issue with moving and modifying any textboxes created and any images once placed. Additionally, if I open a new tools icon, I cannot move the icon or drag it to the toolbar. I have spent hours trying to reinstall previous versions, modify settings in InDesign, and modify settings on my Surface Book 2 laptop with no luck and it’s wasting valuable time. I’m in desperate need for some kind of guidance or help on possible solutions to fix this issue. Please help!

Hi there,I'm working in InDesign CC 13.1 and all of a sudden I'm unable to move my objects around my page. I can select them with the Selection Tool, can copy and paste, and can select and move object anchor points however I can't drag and move the objects/text frames. Is this a glitch and do I need to reinstall or have I accidentally pressed a keyboard shortcut that locks things from moving? I've closed down the application and tried other files too but it's the same across the board. Illustrator and Photoshop are fine...Any urgent help would be greatly appreciated! TIA.
The third digit in 3 digit page numbers drops the assigned tabular lining style. I’ve tried using several different fonts, and the problem remains. Ive never encountered this before. Is there a fix for this?
Grazie in anticipo!
I created a publication based on a previous one. It's in a new folder with the default [fonts] and [lins] subfolders. Preflight shows no linking errors. Since there are numerous unused graphics in the link folder (from the old version), I wish to create a new package before sending to production. I get the above error with no explanation. How do I do this without manually copying every link (70) and font (46)?This is CS3 on Vista Home Premium.
I'm having a really frustrating issue. I am trying to export an interactive .pdf, but when I do there is some color conversion going on. Normally I would mess with the color settings in the export dialog, but the interactive .pdf export dialogue box has no color conversion settings (presumably this means that there is no color conversion going on when exporting this type of .pdf), however when I open the .pdf several of my colors are very obviously and significantly changed. Many of the colors look like they are approximating the "out of gamut" CMYK color coversions of my RGB color swatches - but I don't know why it would bother doing this for an interactive .pdf (which is presumed to be for digital use). Any ideas? I found this thread that seemed to have a similar issue, but the proposed "correct answers" have yielded no results for me. Changing the color settings changes how they appear in the document to me, but the colors are still changing once exported. Here you can see
Indesign 21.3 / OS Tahoe 26.3.1 / Synology servermounting Synology server using SMB protocolLately, I & my teammates have been having an issue where Indesign is dropping its links to the server. Can’t save the file either. Close out of ID file and the server partitions are still mounted and I can navigate them. However, cannot work off the server. ID will open the file again, but links are missing. Closing the file does not remove the ID lock file either. Have to manually eject the partitions and remount the drive. Our IT team (outsourced) tends to be PC people and think that Adobe apps can be overly sensitive to network conditions. We’re on a very fast server & switch. They think moving back to AFP protocol may help. Anyone have experience with this issue? Please don’t say work locally. In 2026 that’s possibly the worst thing anyone can say. :D
Fonts activated in Adobe Fonts are not visible in Adobe applications, in particular In In Design. At the same time, I have a subscription for fonts, but they don't even appear in the Cloud Desktop list so that I can sync them. How to overcome this problem?
Hi, I am working on my exam (due may 7th) when exporting to interactive pdf my buttons are working but none of my animations work ? Can anyone help me out ? I have attached my indesign file and the exported pdf. Thank you so much, Kristof
The AI upsell popup ad is unreadable in light mode. Especially bad because clicking ‘Turn it on’ will enable a feature that burns tokens.MacOS 15.7.5, Indesign 21.3
Hi, CS3(5.0.2.640) Windows sp2 I've written about this before, thought it was solved, but it isn't. I inserted grouped images into a numbered list, and anchored them according to instructions; first making place for the group by adding a few plain lines under the numbered item where I wanted the group, then inserting the group, then cutting it, placing the insertion point in the place I wanted the group to appear, pasting the group back, and voila...lovely anchored group. However, I've come to the conclusion that if I do that, I'd better realize it's FOREVER, because I can't seem to extricate parts of the group in case I want to change their order. InDesign Help says to go to Object > Anchored Object > Release but my 'release' is GREYED OUT! Why? and nothing else that I've tried, works. Could it be, that there is a frame around the entire page? I tried to delete that frame but when I try to, everything on the page isdeleted, and when I try to move that frame away, everything

Can I recover my old forum account under the name David W Goodrich? Over the decades I've contributed useful information on various technical issues -- CJK, footnotes, metadata -- but now my attempts to login usually get ignored; occasionally I see a message saying the account was deleted or banned. To my knowledge neither is true, and even if they were I believe Adobe was supposed to send an e-mail explanation, which I have not received. After long discussion on-line Adobe's general help told me to create a new Community account with a different e-mail to log in and ask the Community -- and I cannot use my old name. Can someone help me?David W. Goodrich
Hi everyone.I posted a thread on the Photoshop forum about the discrepancy between displayed dimensions and actual dimensions.I always thought that the print dimensions in Photoshop were the actual dimensions, but that’s not the case.I’ve found that Illustrator (ID) has the same issue. For example, in the image below, the ruler in ID shows a width of 100 mm. When I set the zoom to “Actual Size,” the bottom-left corner shows 100% zoom, but when I measure the screen with a ruler, I find that the corresponding width on my physical ruler is 11.5 mm. When I set the zoom level in the bottom-left corner to 88%, the image measures 100 mm in width on the screen. This might be significant. For example, could actual size have an impact on “perceived design”? I suspect this has to do with my monitor’s resolution. So, is there a way to make the width on the computer match the actual physical width?
I obtained the caret (text cursor) position inside a text frame using ITextCaret::GetCaretBounds(). According to the documentation, this position is based on the pasteboard coordinate system. How can I convert this pasteboard coordinate to a screen coordinate?
