How do I get Menu path to a submenu using the C++ SDK?I need to use it in IMenuCustomizationData::HideSubMenu(const PMString &menuPath). In the script, you can retrieve menuItems and subMenus from the menu. How do you accomplish the same thing using the C++ SDK?
Indesign version: 20.4.1Windows 10 The text disappears when I write that last "a", and it's not because it's aligned to base grid. It has the little red box showing that there's overset text, but the text never appears even if I stretch the box.
My rectangle frame tool is no longer working, when I put my cursor in the document is says 'options' and wants me to put in height and width. I thought it was just the frame tool but I can't create a text box either. It's like none of my tools are working. I'm using the latest verson on InDesign, 21.0.2, Windows 11, Version 25H2. Everything worked fine a few months ago. I have uninstalled, reinstalling, shut down, unplugged my computer, researched everything and I can't found out why these tools are no longer working. Even when I put in exact measurements and the frame was created, I couldn't move it, resize it, etc. If you can't use frame tool or text tool InDesign is pretty useless. Thank you.
Why is my page breaking like this even though all Keep Options are off and there are no special characters, breaks, etc?
Hi team, I've had this error come up in my EPUB file. I've gone to line 262 in the file but there's nothing notable here, or am I missing the point? Fragment identifier is not defined.OEBPS/Inspiring-Independence-ePub.xhtml, line: 262
Is there a script or a way to paste the same image on every page but each page a slight different position? I'm doing a fore-edge print and need the same image on every other page but each time it has to move 0.246mm left Thank You!
Why is one corner of my rectangle get rounded after and update yesterday?? Indesign 21.0.2 There is no corner option selected and this was not an issue before the update yesterday and I have never rounded a single corner on any design to date. hmmmAny suggestions?
Please add the feature of links automatically updating as soon as the file (e.g. photo) is edited outside of InDesign (e.g. going directly through finder instead of editing via Links panel). If there is a legitimate reason for this not to be the default then at least add it as a preference.
Ever since I updated to InDesing 2026, my links palette is empty - even though I have files linked to my document. See attached. Document has several items linked, and one is selected, but the "links" pallet is empty. Is this an issue with ID2026 or did I accidentally turn something off?
Having used Publish online many times successfully before the lastest update. When I try to publish online this time around i cant get past the initial details screen, when i press 'Publish' nothing happens, it takes me back to my document and thats it... Ive been through the doc with a fine toothcomb trying to find anything which might be stalling it. Bu cant see anything which should cause any issues. Basically just images and text. Any thoughts anyone???
Since updating to indesign 2026, all my indesign files, even though creates in 2026 asks me what application to open them in. And as of today, indesign 2026 isn't even an option, yet I have it open in the background...
When I group layers in a document, the “Ungroup remembered layers” option does not work, as it merges them into the layer where they are grouped. And when I ungroup them, everything remains in that layer.
Is it possible to save baseline grid color settings and ruler guides color settings to some kind of new default, or a user settings profile, so that someone who routinely has to change those settings in documents they work on can do so with fewer clicks? We're using InDesign CS6. The issue: Our default color settings for ruler guides (cyan) and the baseline grid (light gray) are too light to be clearly visible for one of our team members, but those settings are ideal for many other colleagues. To change those color settings individually on each document that team member works on is a bit tedious, as they work on multiple new documents each day. These color settings appear to apply at the document level, as opposed to the user level -- as in, if the user changes the settings with one document open, the next document they open doesn't have those settings applied. What we're looking for is a less tedious way to update those color settings on every document that person work
lo pongo por aca ya que tengo la prueba gratuita de indesing, ya paso un dia desde que lo obtuve y me estoy preocupando.
How can I see the different versions of Indesign to be downloaded?
how can I get a strok just on top or at one side of an image?
CC Libraries don't work in indesign. The panel is unclickable and looks like a screenshot. It's only solved by restarting indesign, but it crashes soon afterwards.
Last August I ran across an article about some caveats with the new Generative Expand option in InDesign by Mike Rankin in the Creative Pro newsletter. These included, but were not limited to file management, color management and image quality. The article suggested using Photoshop rather than InDesign for expanding images. We are getting ready to upgrade our Adobe Suite and wondering if these issues still hold true in the the lastest version so I can let my team know. Can anyone advise please? Here is a link to the articlehttps://creativepro.com/why-you-should-use-generative-expand-in-photoshop-not-indesign/ Thanks so much!
There are every apps. Photoshop, Acrobat etc. But the Illustrator, and InDesign are missing.
No matter what I do, there are fonts that every other applications can see and use, but I can't get them to show up in InDesign. Interestingly, if I open an older document that uses a font that isn't available in InDesign (but is avalable to other applications), it will be usable. If I copy the text from the old document and paste it into a new document, the font will become avaliabe. Here's what I've done so far.• Restarted (many, many times)• Made sure my system and Adobe applications are all up to date.• Removed and reinstalled InDesign.• Deactivated and reactivated fonts in Font Book.• Activated fonts in FontBase.• Activated fonts using Adobe Fonts. I have no idea what else could resolve the issue.
Just did a completely clean macOS install. Installed Creative Cloud. And suddenly my Applications folder looks like Adobe moved in with all their cousins.I’m staring at nine (!!!) extra “apps” duplicate Creative Cloud icons, CoreSync pretending to be an app, random utility stubs… basically a whole parade of stuff I never asked for and definitely don’t want cluttering my system. Why is this still a thing in 2025?No other pro software dumps this much junk into /Applications and calls it normal. If these are background processes, then make them background processes. If they’re not meant to be opened by humans, then don’t present them as apps. It’s not complicated. Clean install → clean system.Adobe install → chaos. Please, for the love of workflows everywhere: fix this installation bloat. Nobody needs a Creative Cloud matryoshka doll of apps.
Seeking a sanity check on a production decision for a 400-page hardcover art/architecture book. The design is final—most elements hand-positioned across 400 pp.—so if the gutter needs adjusting, I need a method that won't disturb existing content.Specs210×260mm trimInside margin: 12mm130gsm coated stock (Arctic Volume White)Hollow-back construction, sewn signaturesPrinter says 12mm is fine. I'm skeptical. And as it may affect the gutter, there's a choice between squared spine (rigid) and gently rounded spine (no spine board, covers pivot independently). Both hollow-back with sewn signatures, so text block behavior should be similar. Rounded is more ergonomic for this tome in the hand, while squared feels more solid. But if squared spine is even marginally less forgiving at the gutter, I'd want to add 1-2mm of safety.QuestionsIf I need another 1-2mm: can InDesign extend pages asymmetrically—adding width to the spine edge only—while leaving all placed content at its current absolute
Hi Everyone, I’m encountering a persistent issue with InDesign 2026 on macOS Tahoe 26.1 when trying to package documents whose linked files are stored in Google Drive. Any ideas???
