InDesign

Anyone else having issue with InDesign review links not working today? I have sent out a few and reviewers are getting this message. Other programs seem to be working fine. 

I am always excited when a new release of InDesign comes out. I have no pressing deadlines so I can explore to my heart's content. The first thing I noticed Is that the icons for InDesign on my Windows 11 Taskbar and desktop were blank. I threw them in the Recycle Bin. and then dragged the InDesign 2026/21.0 icon from the Start Menu to the desktop. I then renamed the desktop icon from "Adobe InDesign 2026" which is more information than I need to "InDesign" as I have done with many different versions when updated. Then, I started InDesign and noted that the Taskbar icon, though it showed InDesign as the program when I hovered the mouse over it, it was entirely blank: a blank area on my Taskbar. It worked to start InDesign, so I thought I would go with the flow and leave it that way. I then spent a considerable amount of time to get my Windows 11 TaskBar Jumplist for InDesign configured the way I like it for easy access to my ongoing big project: InDesign > File > Open &

I have been data merging images and text for over two years at my job for a deliverable that we do a few times a year with no issues. Our Adobe logins recently changed where we no longer have Adobe Enterprise and got our licenses through TechSoup as we are a nonprofit. I used the same login (email) and use a different profile to access my Adobe license for all programs. My colleagues have done the same. When I try to data merge now, it does not work, whereas it did before. It only merges the text, and not images. It gives me the message that says: "The data source references one or more missing images. The missing images cannot be previewed or merged. At the time you create a merged document, you can choose to generate a list of all missing images." I am on Mac and have checked the platform style path and am using the right file path/source (for my computer username and links). No matter what I do it does not work for merging images when it worked over a month ago on the old

Last night it was working fine, and this morning it keeps crashing. It has been updated to the latest version, and I am working on on Tahoe. I really need a workaround as I have to deliver a file to a client today. Anyone can help?

I'm new to InDesign, and I've been using it for the past few months to just copy and paste info into our weekly church bulletin that was created several years ago.  Is there a way to transform the bulletin that I work with so that I can merge data weekly from some type of form like a Google doc? I want to import things like hymn numbers, sermon titles, scriptures, names, etc, without continually copying and pasting into a new document each week.  I only know the basics of InDesign and want to keep the look of what we already have on hand. It's stylized with our branding (fonts, logo, etc), and I don't want to change the actual format of it. I'm attaching our current bulletin so you can see what I'm referencing.   Thanks in advance. 

I have all the settings turned on to generate CSS, and even provided specific class names for a bunch of styles in my document. In the files generated by HTML export, they aren't defined. They're not in idGeneratedStyles.css. The names only appear in the HTML files themselves, as:<p class="Step-A ParaOverride-1"><p class="Step-1 ParaOverride-1"> I see no definition of attributes anywhere, any of the stuff you see in the Export Tagging dialog. And heaven forbid this text even be selectable in the dialog. What gives? 

I noticed that after downloading the InDesign 2026 app, it removed the extensions section out of the Window panel. Has this been moved? It is critical for my company to have access to this panel. This extension isn't available on Exchange. 

I'm writing a UXP plug-in to export styles. But several routines don't work, because comparisons with published values for various options in the API never match. I don't know why. If you look at the valid values for numbering style documented here: https://developer.adobe.com/indesign/dom/api/n/NumberingStyle/ I'm wondering why the following code always falls through (even when a call to toString on the value in question shows that it does indeed match a numbered style). I have a paragraph style applied to a line which has zero leading and 0.1 points (see image below where there is a pink highlight). But it is still pushing the next paragraph down by one baseline.I don't want it to push the next line down.  

What's the point of designing text fields in ID when the exported text fields made into form elelments in Acrobat have no relation to the type size created in ID? The type is often suddenly too big for Acrobat and the fields or type sizes have to be completely redesigned  . . . WTF!

What could be causing the drink name to not wrap to the anchored object?You can see in the screen shot that the text wrap should be effecting it. 

Not just InDesign but any Adobe product really. Shows me the option to free trial or purchase, and to add insult to injury it reminds me that I already have access to the app when I try to navigate through those options despite....not being able to access them. Only posting here because apparently Adobe support (phone and web) doesn't work weekends...so here's my last ditch effort on seeing if anyone else has the same issue.  

Hello, i made an Indesign plugin for MacOS using the C++ SDK. The plugin works on CC 2024 and CC 2025 but crashes on the newly released CC 2026. The crash happens before the Startup() method of my derived IStartupShutdownService class is called.I attached the MacOS crash report. Are there any API breaking changes that could explain this behavior?  

why are my columns going backwards with my hebrew text?I tried uninstalling and then reinstalling indesign with the option 'englis ( תוך עברית)' and it's still not workin!!

Hello, we updated to Indesign 2026 and are having problems with the Poster Frame of Videos not showing. Using Indesign 2025 it works just fine. Also copiing the link with a working poster frame in 2025 to 2026 it shows just like normal. Using the same video, importing it to 2026 and selecting the same settings it does not show the thumbnail.Tested it through many computers, from a mac studio over a macbook pro to a windows. All have the same problem. It seems that the selection From current frame is not working.   This is giving us problems because while exporting to pdf the thumbnail does not show.

Hoping there is a quick fix for this!I have a headshot anchored inside a text box at the top left corner. When I apply text wrap to the image, the paragraph below wraps but the heading stays put. If I hit return before the heading it wraps but that's obviously not what I'm after as it's now too low.What am I missing?Thanks legends.

I am installing to a new computer. Launching app says I have reached my limit of 2. I only have one other, so the second has to be a computer I no longer have. When I go to the Adobe web page to see activated computers it says I have none registered. How can I resolve this?

Hi im using the last version of indesign but when i run it doesnt work how can i fix it?

My daughter is in a fashion merchandising program at university. She was using InDesign online and just told me her files are gone. Adobe Support is offline (we're in the Pacific time zone). She is new to the software, so I'm hoping that the system (she was using the online software, logged in with her account) auto-saves or backs up her work. Can anyone offer any ideas about this?Thanks,Ray

All document links for publishing online and reviwing are not loading or giving error message. The same problem to generate publish/review links.

Hello, so I was wondering if it was possible to create a document in Indesign and export it in such a way that only the text inside can be modified or cancelled. I have a friend, who has limited computer knowledge (she is 52 years old) that asked me to create a menu for her bar, but I want to make it so that in the output file she can modify her products as she wants without touching the images or the overall structure of the menu. That way she can independently change up the content as she likes without having to ask me every time to do it for her. Is it possible to create it? If so, how? Thank you.
