InDesign

We are working on multiple InDesign books for 5 different contracts, within each contract there are approximately 80 docs in a book. Is there a solution to update all the "Prefix Section Makers" within the Numbering & Section Options panel. I have a Section maker on the master pages, placed the Section Marker in the Numbering & Section options panel, checked "Include Prefix when Numbering Pages." In the book sync menu, there is an option to change the document numbering options, but you can only change one document at a time in a book. Is there a workaround?

Hello,  In the office there a large indesign doc that is being passed arround - numerous people are adding media to the file, packaging it and then passing it on.  However, I have noticed that some media, by some a lot, of media is missing.  What cuases some images to not be packaged and some to be packaged, for example on my work PC all images are linked nothing missing yet, the packaged file is missing a lot if images.  They are sorced from different places, some my work desktop, others on company servers etc does this cuase the breaking - although even images from my own work pc failed to package etc  Any experience or tips useful, thanks  Smyth

Bonjour, suite à la nouvelle version Indesign, je m'aperçois que les tabulations (via sa micro-fenêtre dédiée) disparaissent dès que je touche la 1ère, alors que j'en ai déjà placé plusieurs après. C'est assez contre-productif car je dois sans arrêt remettre les tabu, les re-déplacer, etc. Cette nouvelle version n'est vraiment pas optimale par rapport à sa version précédente...Qui plus est, l'action dégrouper fait disparaître la sélection des blocs qui étaient groupés. Cette fonction était très pratique sur les versions passées, désormais je dois re-sélectionner mes blocs, un par un, parfois pour juste en dégrouper un au final... pas optimale encore une fois.

My large two-page file won't export; when I try to export it, the program freezes and immediately closes.

After the update, my InDesign is acting very weird, the whole app is in English and I want it in Dutch, and my keyboard isn't working properly. I can type, but I can't use backspace or Enter, and the delete key doesn't always work either. The previous version was 100 times better.

Hello, I'm having issues with my text box changing the tracking and leading after placing it on the page. How can I fix this? Image 2 is how I want my text box to look, and Image 1 is the issues I'm having. Image 1  Image 2 

When I have text that is out of frame (overset), I usually resize the textframe to check for any issues, and then resize the entire frame while holding command + shift to scale down the entire text while keeping the tracking and leading proportionally to the original. However I noticed today that any text that is still overset will be ignored with this scaling. Resulting in parts of the text being too big. The same happens when I scale using the percentages from the top toolbar. When I scale a textframe that is completely overset, none of the text will get scaled.  I've added a video with an example of this behaviour. What I would expect is for all the text to scale down proportionally, even when it's cut off. Except for when the text continues in another textframe. I suppose this may be the reason why it works this way, since it would influence how much text can fit the frame while also affecting the size of that text. InDesign can’t package my document because it says it cannot copy the linked files from my Synology NAS. All permissions appear correct, but InDesign keeps refusing to package. Saving the INDD locally, choosing a different destination, reinstalling, and reconnecting to the NAS as a registered user didn’t help. Disclaimer: I’m using the Italian version of InDesign, so I’m not sure if I translated the names of the commands and windows correctly. After updating to InDesign 21, I encountered two problems in how formulas are managed.When working with documents containing many formulas, I usually use an AppleScript that inserts MathML into the InDesign document using the create from mathML function. First issue (very serious).When inserting formulas via the AppleScript function, they appear correctly formatted according to the original mathematical notation in Word: variables in italics, numbers in regular type, etc.However, if I open the formula with Edit MathML, it is completely transformed according to the style selected in the drop-down menu of the Mathematical Expressions window, disrupting the original formatting.  In the image, you can see the properly formatted inserted formula at the top, and below it, the Edit MathML window showing the “updated” version that automatically scrambles the f

There are NO files open in ANY program on my computer, and Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop are hogging ALL of my RAM. Since the last update, my computer has been glitchy, so I had a little check this morning and see THIS. We pay entirely too much for this subscription to have it bring our computers to a halt this way.

I am exporting an InDesign (ver. 21.0) layout to reflowable ePub and there is a strange problem with the endnotes (see attached). URLs in the endnotes have disappeared, replaced by a very short underline. If you click on the underline it takes you to the link, but why is the text of the link (https://, etc.) missing?

I have created a children's book that is more than 200 pages long. The document has multiple pop-ups on each page. Saving the document as an interactive PDF does not allow the pop-up functions to work when the PDF is opened. How can I save this document so that all the pop-ups will work when the document is opened. I want it to work for a large variety of users. Thank you!

Hi Adobe Team,I am facing serious issues after updating to the latest InDesign version 21.0.The software has become extremely slow, and the main problem is that the tool panels (Pages, Layers, Colours, Effects, etc.) are not responding on a single click. The application itself is running, but these icons become unresponsive or inaccessible, which is disrupting my entire workflow.Please look into this issue urgently. Hello,I've been seeing issues with feathers (and any kind of transparency related effects) that were working correctly in Indesign 2025, not showing/working in Indesign 2026.Below is an example with a Directional feather correctly in Indesign 2025, and not showing in 2026.Adobe, what's the work-around here: don't open old documents???  

I shut down my computer because Photoshop and Illustrator stopped responding. I was working with a pretty large file. After restarting, I've been unable to launch any creative cloud apps. I tried launching from the app directly, from a file, and from the creative cloud app (didn't work because it wouldn't open). Not too sure what to do here, any help would be greatly apprciated!

Hello, I'm very pleased with the new font browser in Illustrator. I'm hoping Adobe can include this update within InDesign. It would be a super helpful tool to have across all applications! Do you think Adobe will publish this update to other programs?
