Photoshop

I have a brand new PC (Ryzen 7, 32GB RAM, NVIDIA RTX 5060). Everything works perfectly, except when I try to use the "Skin Smoothing" filter (the neural filter) in Camera Raw. The moment I apply it, the screen flickers, Photoshop freezes completely, and then I get a message saying that "Camera Raw GPU acceleration has been disabled due to an error."   I've tried everything: I reinstalled the NVIDIA drivers (using DDU, and tried Studio and Game Ready). I ran a stress test on my graphics card (Unigine Superposition in 4K), and the card is 100% perfect. The problem only occurs with that filter. If I disable GPU acceleration in Camera Raw's preferences, it works (but slowly), so it's clearly a bug. Is anyone else with a new card (RTX 40 or 50 series) experiencing the same issue? It seems like a bug in Adobe's software with the new hardware.   [Mod: Reformatting thread for better readability]

Hi everyoneI have found an old family archive of photographs which I'm wanting to digitise, enhance, possibly colour and print out for Christmas presents (yep, this is a long term project!). I'm a bit stuck at the first stage and could use some advice.When I scan the pictures using an Epson V700 scanner, though it's capturing all the detail which is great, it's also capturing dust and scratch marks on the picture and particularly irritatingly dust and lint marks that are trapped under the scanner glass!I can't take apart or clean the scanner glass so those marks are transferring to the scans I'm making.It will take (and is taking) hours to painstakingly remove all these marks by hand with the spot removal tool and I was wondering if there was anything automatic that was more effective?I have tried...Photoshop - Dust and scratch removal tool - it doesn't do a great job as it just blurs the picture, or otherwise adversely affects the picture which I don't want.Lasersoft Photoshop SRDx Pl

I have a hi-res image of two people wearing glasses. When I use the select tool, it's not grabbing the glasses on either person. Not listing glasses as a choice, either. (Haven't seen it do that before.) Using Photoshop 2026 v27.0.0 on a Macbook Pro M4. Suggestions? Bug?? (I blurred their features for privacy issues to post here.)

I need to change the background color of a PNG image that has only one layer, using PhotoShop 2018. You can't select everything else and mask it because it's a very complex image, and the Spot Healing Brush tool doesn't seem help much because the color I'm trying to change is very subtle and only appears in certain areas. There must be an easy way to just change the entire background color, but I have yet to find it. Can anyone help?

This is a minor annoyance that still hasn't been resolved, but the filter gallery effects always appear ungrouped in the filters tab every time I open Photoshop. The annoying part is that it does this even when I have it checked to group them in the plugins settings. I have to uncheck and then recheck it for them to group up every time I have to reopen the program. Can someone fix this, please?

I find myself using the same points whenever using the curves dialogue box.Is there a way to place these points in a default setting so I don't have to manually input them each time?

I'm having an issue with Photoshop 2026 (27.0.0) hanging after rendering a movie. The movie renders ok, but the 'blob' spinning cursor just spins forever. The app isn't being reported as 'non-responsive' in the macOs 'force quit' dialogue, but it never comes out of this state and requires a force quit to do so. I'm on Tahoe 26.0.1

Good afternoon hive mind, Have posted before but haven't found a solution. I have Photoshop 2026 installed on my laptop. The program runs fine and I can open all file types.HOWEVER .... I cannot open Photoshop by selecting any files. And if I try the 'Open With' option, Photoshop does not show up as normal. In the list of available option there is a Photoshop.exe but clicking on it does nothing. If I try and set Photoshop as the default program to open picture files it does not show up.If I click on installed apps ... it's there. Am really confused and if someone can help I would be eternally grateful. Thanks Colin

Hey, are you trying to make a magic trick or are you just trying to spell us?  I use: After EffectsPremierePhotoshop a lot!  And you know what make me crazyyyy The layout and position of the shortcuts menu (and the way you edit it)  Would it be an insult if we could normalize this?  In After Effect and Premiere you can search for the short cuts > but in Photoshop nooooo Why is that? In photoshop its under the "edit Menu"In premiere under the "Adobe premiere Menu" (why?) Ok in AE its und Edit too These 3 Apps will be used together, so why is it that they are on different locationsAnd work in different ways.  To me this makes no sense.  But if this has a good explanation: I am willing to read.  cheers Peter 

Photoshop v26.10 , filter gallery doesn't work. How do I solve this?

Generally I've had good results producing images in Firefly when using an Alpha Channel. Some results are great, some results are very strange and not useable.. Overall, however,  I am pleased.  I have a large catalog of high res images that I have created over 5 years for the "POD" market, I often prefer to use the Edit>Generate function with these images converting the image to either a watercolor or oil painting. The result: every generated images has "lines" similar to what one would get using a rake brush. The Landscape image is a good example. I cut out a small section of this image, original size: 12000px X 9000px @ 300 ppi, showing an example of the lines running in all directions. The reference style and composition images I load do not have "lines" resembling the resulting images in either a watercolor or oil painting.  The algorthym(s) used in Firefly 3.0 are generating these lines.  Today I created a 3 color flat image. V27 on iOS Sequoia M1 MacBook Pro The move tool auto select is only selecting the top adjustment layer which makes the tool useless. The keyboard shortcut to toggle auto select on/off doesn't work, either. Everything is working correctly on my windows machine. All the settings appear to be the same. Any suggestions?

Hi, I use tool presets to select my tools (I never use the brush panel)After I select a particular brush, and then use it for a few minutes, sometimes I forget the name of the brush preset I'm using, so I got back into the tool presets window to see if it's still highlighted, but it isn't.  I've looked everywhere else to see where I can get the name of the current brush (which was seleted via tool presets panel, not brush presets panel), but I can't find it anywhere. Surely there has to be a way to do this? If anyone knows that would be great (I'm hoping this is a simple solution that I've overlooked )

Hi All,Appreciate any help i can get at the moment.I am having alot of trouble with photoshop in the recent weeks. (since just before the Amazon AWS went down) I am not sure if its an update on windows (Could be but i have since uninstalled all updates over the last 2 months and it had no effect) It only lets me open Photoshop when i restart windows explorer once my computer is loaded up. I have tried uninstalling and installing every version of photoshop and even to the extent of creative cloud, lightroom etc.   I have no problems loading lightroom but PS sometimes takes 20 odd goes before it gets past the "Memory bit", Once it says its loading brushes i start celebrating. It started to happen just before the amazon AWS feature so was unsure if it was related to a windows update but as I said I have uninstalled all recent updates, uninstalled PS, Lightroom etc then tried from scratch. The only thing i havn't done and im scared todo due to loosing soo

I had a Photoshop CS5 and in that version I could load multiple images and clone elements from all pictures into one of them. In Photoshop web (2025) I cannot open several pictures and in the same way clone a person or a bird etc. into one chosen picture. Any solutions? I use a computer and Windows 11.

I don’t understand why the Nano Banana generations are blocked on my account with Photoshop. It tells me I’m out of credits, while your website states that from October 28th, 2025 to December 1st, 2025, it’s supposed to be unlimited. It says : From October 28, 2025 to December 1, 2025 all new and existing subscribers of select plans including Creative Cloud Pro, Firefly Standard, Pro, and Premium, and credit add-on subscriptions (2000 Credits, 7000 Credits, and 50000 Credits) will receive unlimited generations on all AI image models and the Firefly Video model in the Firefly web and mobile app and Firefly Boards.

Why is everything pink... I cant change the background color. Even I create new file it is still pink 

Suddenly unable to open Photoshop from Lightroom Classic. Error Box appears. When opening Photoshop direct from the icon, it does not recognise Lightroom pictures?All Apps up todate versions.Please advise on best course of action to rectify issue.Best regards,

PS 26.10, Mac PS doesnt' remember what tool I last used. Every single time I use a tool, it defaults to something other than what I last used. For example, when I use the brush tool, then open a new file and it goes back to pencil. When I use the healing brush tool, then open a new file, it defaults to the generative AI healing brush.  How can I stop this behavior. It's new. I expect when I press "J", that I will get the last healing brush setting I used. I expect when I press "B" that I will get a brush and not a pencil. I never ever use pencil, and I never use the generative AI tools.  Is there a way to stop this behaviour?
