Photoshop

Hi everyone. I often purchase clothing mockup templates that contain smart objects in layers where I can add my own artwork. Been doing this for years with no problems. On a Mac. I recently upgraded to Catalina OS and at the same time to Photoshop 21.2.2 Now, whenever I try and save the smart object layer I get the error message :"Could not update smart object files because the file was not found." One suggestion I found online was to make sure PS has access to all file and folder in the security settings. It didn't, but now it does. And it's still showing this error. I don't understand what it's looking for. The image is there as a layer. It's not a linked file, I pasted the image to a new layer within the smart object. This always worked previously. Oddly tho, it does seem to save it and the change is reflected in the main image! So whilst it appears I can work as normal - it's just annoying that this box pops up every time I make a change to a smar

Generative Fill isn't working. It suddenly stopped working. It doesn't do anything. Does anyone have the same problem? I'm a paying user with unlimited credits.

My PhotoShop Filter Window is completely black and has been for years...  I have a subscription. Help!

I am a volunteer retoucher for a non profit organization called Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep. 90% of my work is done in PS on my desktop witha Wacom tablet. I bought an iPad M4 as asmaller option to bring on vacation. While I love the Apple Pencil option, I am finding the iOS version of PS is severely lacking in some of the features I need. I was considering a Microsoft Surface Pro 11. Does anyone have experience with using that with PS? Will it run the full version of PS? If you use it, what specs would you recommend? Any reason not to switch from iPad to Surface Pro?

Using "ScriptingListener.plugin" I was able to record an action, however it triggers "Begin recording" and will not toggle it off, even if I make another action with the same script. Is there a way to trigger this action or the escape key? I want to be able to record multiple actions in a loop, so stopping recording is imperative.

I have a Script to bulk replace the SmartObject in the PSD file. It worked good in CC2015 but when I update my Photoshop Version, it doesn't work any more. I share here the part of that script which is noticed "error" by Photoshop. Hello, community! My Photoshop keeps crashing whenever I open large PSD files. I’ve tried clearing the cache and updating to the latest version, but it still happens. Has anyone experienced this? Any solutions or tips would be amazing.

Hello,I wanted to create a web app for creating a mockup or eBook cover generator. So I wanted to change the image in the PSD (In smart object) file through the API.  I found this https://www.adobe.io/apis/creativecloud/photo-imaging-api.html on the official Adobe website. But don't understand how to get started with this. Can anyone help me with that?  Thank you

Does Photoshop have a problem with Intel ARC?Why isn't there a live preview of effects and filters? Whenever I apply a Gaussian blur, I have to toggle the "Preview" on and off once to see the effect in the main window!I've set the graphics settings to High Performance. Speed and performance are good. I've heard the new Intel Core Ultra's ARC+NPU cooperation has great performance for such lightweight editing. Hi all, I'd like to extend the lines/waves to the left (like in the attachment of the watercolor), creating the exact same texture and color gradient. It should resemble a watercolor, but digitally. Any tips are welcome, thanks in advance! 

Can not export any legacy formats.I have enabled photoshop 2021 in the systems security permissions for full disk access and the same for files and folders and accessibility, after having read some of the previous advice on here for older versions of photoshop and OS, but to no avail. An error message appears every time I try to save for web legacy - It's an animated GIF I'm trying to export. An incredibly frustrating fault that needs to be addressed soon!    {PS-75070}

When using the tool, it either completely removes my image (and when I save, it saves as a grey image) or it just says it does not work. I am on the latest version of PS so what is going on?

After I installed Windows 11, Photoshop 26.10 isn't working anymore. When I open a photo from ACR in Photohop, Photoshop is closing. When I open PS without loading a picture: toolbar and adjustment layers are gone for example.  When I open a photo with file-recent files it's loading the photo, but still no tools. The only thing I can do now is working with the older version: 25.12.4.All specs are OK: GPU (nvidia Geoforce RTX 3070, 8GB, updated), RAM 32GB. Help! I've in a a big project, I need Phtoshop every day! Please dont't ask uninstall etc., this has never worked before ;-/

Hi, I teach a class where my students have to submit to a site no more than 4MB per image. I told them that the best software to edit and check accurate size is Photoshop and showed then where to look for size, crop... HOWEVER, one student decided to use Google slides and it load the image well on the site, but Photoshop says the image is 33MB ?? and when I right click the image on my iMac it says 963 KB.....How can this be???  I'm attaching both screen shoots of the same image opened on regular "i" from iMac and the Photoshop....completely different lecture...  The questions is WHY THEY DON"T MATCH? and WHICH IMAGE SIZE IS RIGHT? Thanks for any valuable feedback in advance. 

My best friend is a fine artist.  Watercolor, acrylic and mixed media.  A local print company scans her watercolors beautifully ... because they are flat.  The scans of the acrylic and mixed media are AWFUL ... the paintings are on canvas.We want to have prints (5 x 7 and 8 x 10) and notecards made with the resulting images.  We have a lightbox and a tripod.  Using a high-megapixel camera, we can come SO CLOSE to getting good reproductions.  I have the full Adobe package.  I've been trying to work with the files in Photoshop.Can you recommend some links, or offer any tips?  Thank you!

This would have been about 10 years ago. It was created by a gentleman from New Zealand, I believe. But he has sence disapeared. Does anyone have any thoughts or leads for me?

The tiny black x-y coordinate indicator gets in the way when I'm adjusting a path. How do I turn it off?The attached image explains it better, sinceI'm not sure the right terminology, and there are several parts of the interface that could count as an "x-y coordinate indicator".Thanks!

Hi all,I'm working on macOS with Photoshop 2025 and would like to back up and import my workspace (app layout).Despite my research, I haven’t been able to find any answers. The files don’t seem to be in the Application Support folders as they were in older versions of Photoshop.Could anyone advise on how to locate and back up these files?Thank you! 

I often see a faint line around a selected object when I add it to a document.  It doesn't seem to matter which selection method I use.  If I activate the layer mask I can remove it with the brush tool.  This can be tiresome in an image with many layers and sometimes they don't show up immediately but can appear on zoom in or zoom out.. Is there some way to avoid this?

Hi, I'm masking an image in Photoshop v 26.9.0. I removed the background of the image using "Remove Background" from the properties panel. It's giving me the layer mask. Whenever I double-click the mask layer to do refinements on the hair part, the Photoshop software crashes instantly. Also I tried Select --> Select and Mask (Alt + Ctrl + R), but the same behaviour is happening again and again, Photoshop software is crashing instantly. Please give me a solution. Bonjour,Sur mon pc j'ai un disque C où est installé Creative cloud et Windows, les autres applications Adobe sont installés sur mon disque D. J'ai fais une réinstallation Windows qui est sur mon disque C mais je n'ai pas supprimé les applications et fichiers sur mon disque D et lors de la réinstallation de creative cloud, il ne détecte pas les applications, il me propose de les réinstaller alors qu'elles sont bien fonctionnelles. Est-ce qu'il y a une manip pour que l'appli creative redétecte mes applis ? Sachant que je ne trouve pas la possibilité de les désinstaller depuis leur dossier d'installation.
