I have an issue and I don't seem to get rid of it.When I open a .PSD file (Windows 11) it will open in Fresco. The icon of the file is Photoshop. When I say PSD's have to be opened with another program, I have to look for Photoshop.exe and even then, it doesnt work and doesn't show the Photoshop thumbnail. Anyone with a solution? 🙂
Hi, please help me. I am in rush as i'm preparing my portfolio for application and the deadline is tomorrow. When i want to open my portfolio psd file, I get this error "couldn't complete your request because an unexpected end-of-file was encountered". I restarted the PS and laptop but it didn't work. I can open other files but just this file gives me this error.
Photoshop 26.8.0 on macOS 15.5 Steps to reproduce: 1. Start Photoshop 2. Open an image The actual graph does not show up in the histogram window. But it always reappears when you switch between compact view and extended view, or resize the panel.
I do not need any terabytes of cloud storage or other programs that are included in the "For Photographers" package. In this regard, I would like to ask - is there a plan, that includes only Photoshop and nothing else?
In the latest updates, the Free Transform tool has been experiencing issues. When holding Shift, Alt, or both while transforming images or shapes, the anchor point becomes misaligned with the actual image pixels, which negatively affects element alignment. Additionally, the general transform behavior only works in legacy mode, even after updating the settings in Preferences.Another issue is that when creating a square shape, it always starts with 1px rounded corners, which should not be the default.
I thought this had been resolved, but the issue is now resurfacing for me with the latest update. I cannot open PS because it crashes on launch (the last message I can read on the popup is InnerLoops Plugins Loaded). All I tried so far: - remove beta apps (I usually use PS and Premiere beta)- delete preferences folders- Cmd+Alt+Shift on launch to delete settings- uninstall and reinstall PS (with Mac reboots)- roll back to previous versions- remove everything with the Adobe Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool and reinstall from scratch- uninstall Nik7 and TopazLabs apps- try with a different userNone of the above solved my problem (PS version 25.12 on an M1 Mac running stable MacOS Sequoia); frankly, I'm out of ideas.Hopefully, someone here can help, thanks!
Adobe please make autorecovery ON the default!! Every time there is an update, or a change, or I just sneeze, the autorecovery turns itself off, and I lose work. I know I can save more often etc... but it is the program crashing that is really the problem.
Every tutorial on slicing suggests SAVE FOR WEB. Why? I need high-res output of a sliced image to print on canvas (divided by three to save on printing and shipping). Can someone suggest a simple way to divide a tiff or psd file into sections to send to my commercial printer? Thanks.
lets you selecet a block or use lessco to pick a image to pick there
Is anyone else having this issue? I recently updated to the latest version of Photoshop, 21.2.0, and after updating, Photoshop will open only once, then refuses to open again until I reboot the computer. Attempting to start Photoshop after I have used it once yields no error of any kind, I simply get a busy cursor for about 5 seconds, and nothing.Previous versions of Photoshop have caused me no issues at all. I have tried everything I know of to resolve the issue including uninstalling and reinstalling Photoshop, making sure to delete registry entries as well as related files, and folders on the computer prior to reinstalling, running the application as an administrator and running the compatibility troubleshooter, all to no avail. I have included a screenshot of my computer configuration. Any assistance you folks offer would be greatly appreciated. It's very annoying to have to restart the PC to run Photoshop.ThanksRandall
Photoshop 2025 (26.0.0), immediately closes when opening EPS files, no matter the method. Dragging and dropping to the shortcut, opening directly in Photoshop, or even using "File > Place Embedded/Linked" – it simply crashes. I've tested this on two different machines (both Macs) with Ventura, Sonoma, and Sequoia (all clean installations, as I thought it might be a macOS issue), but the problem persists. I didn’t migrate any custom presets, shortcuts, or make any changes in preferences that could interfere. The strange thing is: not all EPS files cause Photoshop to crash. A few open as they should. I export all my EPS files with AF Designer before using them in Photoshop. I’ve never had an issue like this in all these years. For context: I primarily work with product retouching, so I'm unable to apply labels/logos due to this issue. Any help or workaround to resolve this problem would be greatly appreciated. So for some reason, the up and left arrow keys nudge 2 pixels while the down and right arrow keys only nudge 1. Any idea what might be causing this?
Generative fill seems to be unavailable on Photoshop. It's greyed out in the Edit menu and I can't use it from the contextual taskbar.
Hello everyoneAs a Photoshop user, I am using the 2025 version and trying to learn Photoshop. When I try to download free sky packages from the sky replacement tool, it redirects me to the Photoshop tutorial page. My Creative Cloud settings are set to Turkey as the region. I think this is a software issue. I need help from an expert on this matter. I look forward to your assistance.Best regards to all.
Just updated to Photoshop 26.9. Windows 10 Pro 22H2. Photoshop crashes on launch with a generic dialog. If I hold down Shift-Ctrl-Alt at launch to reset preferences, I get a UAC dialog saying Photoshop 2023 needs permissions. I do not have PS 2023 installed. I have uninstalled PS 26, removed preferences manually, and reinstalled. Same crash. The GPUSniffer does run and the log shows it exits normally (although I don't have a supported GPU.) PS 25.12.4 works fine. I'm less concerned about PS 26.9 not working (this is not my graphics workstation and version 25 still works) as I am wondering about the UAC prompt. Why is there a UAC dialog for PS 2023? If I cancel it, PS doesn't try to launch. If I enter an admin password, PS crashes without the prefs reset dialog. Launching PS 26.9 on the Mac with Cmd-Opt-Shift displays the prefs delete dialog correctly, with no Admin password request.
Since yesterday I have problem with Photoshop 25.1 on my M1 Max Macbook Pro.Everytime I summon camera raw, it says "Camera Raw requires graphics processor acceleration to edit photos." I was using it daily until a couple of days ago. I'm also attaching a couple of screenshots to see it see my gpu but still...Maybe it was the beta I installed and then uninstalled that messed it up?Also I noticed that when you have the beta installed if you open a 16bit file, Photoshop will crash.
Dear Adobe Support Team,I hope this message finds you well.I am writing to urgently request assistance regarding a critical issue with Adobe Photoshop on my Windows system. I am currently unable to open any image file in Photoshop, as the application consistently displays the error:"Could not open [filename] ^0." …followed immediately by a crash. This issue occurs with all image files, regardless of format or size. Photoshop opens normally without loading any image, but crashes the moment I attempt to open a file. This problem has brought my workflow to a complete standstill. We are currently in the middle of several time-sensitive design projects that depend heavily on Photoshop.I kindly request immediate assistance or escalation to a senior support engineer, as this issue is significantly impacting business operations. Please let me know if you require any logs, crash reports, or system information. I am available to provide details or join a support call as soon as possible.
Hi, We’re looking to automate our image export workflow in Photoshop with the following goals: Resize images in batch to fit target dimensionsExport images consistently between 800KB and 1.2MBPermanently enforce these settings, avoiding manual adjustments for every export This is important for meeting platform requirements and maintaining quality/performance standards. Any suggestions on scripting examples, recommended plugins, or settings would be hugely appreciated. We’re hoping for a workflow that’s robust, repeatable, and easy to scale.

Hello,I was wondering if there's a way to copy a smart object's transform properties and paste them onto a different smart object, similar to smart filters or layer styles. From my research, it's not possible to do normally. Does anyone know of a script or is willing to make one for a price?
Recently PS has decided to open any image I have (all jpegs) in RGB by default and I'm desperate to change it back. Even if I create a new canvas and drag a file in the file is converted to RGB. I've reset the preferences but with no success. I'm a very basic user so haven't changed any settings and never had this problem before! I'm using CS6 on Windows. Any help would be amazing as I am very stuck!
Previously, I only ever loaded my PhotoShop CS5 Extended on my desktop. Recently I installed it on my new laptop. When I used for first time it worked but complained that I reached the max number of devices (2)....BUT THIS IS THE 2ND.I did have a live chat with support but they could not resolve.Although CS5 is older, it has everything I need. Agent suggested upgrading to Cloud version , but I am on a fixed income and cannot afford.Any ideas on how to resolve would be greatly appreciated.
So it seems that photoshop limits the adjustment brush sizes to 5000 pixels. Now with the new Mavic 4 pro I am using for work, and its 100MP sensor, it is really quite small for some adjustments. It would be really helpful if the limit was way bigger.
I have today gone into Photoshop. Imported an image. Then nothing. P/S has completely frozen. nothing works. Indeed I have had to use Task manager to close it down..Tried the re-set i.e ctrl/alt/shift on opening, still nothing..Uninstalled and re-installed..Again no change, absolutely nothing, refuses to work..I have Beta installed and this works..My photoshop is the latest version with all updates..Any ideas?
