Photoshop

Hi, I tried to open a file and got this message, which I’ve never seen before.  This is a fairly old file which I’ve opened many times before.  Any idea why I’m getting this message and if there is anything I can do about it?  Thanks.    

Been searching but haven't found answers.   How Do I Change Save / Save As Default from PSD to JPG in Photoshop CC?   These are my steps:   - Editing a RAW file in ACR - Then open it in Photoshop to do more edits - Save/Save As...   Photoshop defaults to PSD. I've read other discussions that's because Photoshop will default to original file format. But this is a RAW file, not a PSD file to begin with.   My question is how do I change this default to JPG instead of PSD? It's annoying having to use the mouse to go down the drop down menu and scroll through to find JPG to save the file. I move through keyboard shortcus, so stopping to use the mouse just do select JPG really slows me down.   Any feedback is greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Hi there! I'm having trouble trying to solve this problem concerning color correction.The image on the top right is in Photoshop and shows color corrected, accurate colors. The image on bottom right shows the exported JPEG in my computer photo viewer. The image on the LEFT is the upload to social media (Patreon).When I go to share this exported JPEG on email or social media, it becomes OVERLY saturated. What is happening, and how do I make them align?I am using these color settings in PSD:Any help is appreciated!

As the title explains, the Load Files into Stack was doing nothing at all.  I tried reinstall without removing settings and that didn’t work.  I then uninstalled Photoshop removing everything, rebooted, and then installed Photoshop and then it worked.This seems to be “standard operating procedure” at Adobe and it just isn’t acceptable.  There should at least be an error message … at a minimum!!!!  Maybe the reboot fixed it.  Maybe Jupiter aligned with Egypt but without any type of diagnostics, we are just stabbing in the dark. 

Can you change or make the space bar the hand tool again please?  I’ve been using Photoshop since nice the very beginning almost every day and it’s super annoying to lose this.thank you. 

Hello,I’m unable to start PS from the CC desktop app nor starting PS from Win start menu as administrator.I am getting the error message:“Could not complete your request because the file is locked, you do not have necessary access permissions, or another program is using the file. Use the ‘Properties’ command in the Windows Explorer to unlock the file.I rebooted my Win system to make sure no active processes was locking any files. I started Photoshop and immediately I get this error message. It doesn’t say which file is locked so that makes it hard to troubleshoot.What can I do in this situation to resolve this?  

The brush & pencil cursorleaves this weird gap inside the cursor. I am not able to use the masking & other techniques precisely.I have already tried bush spacing & resetting brush. I have uninstalled & installed Photoshop as well.This is very, very annoying!PS - I use macbook air.

why the new photoshop is not using colors for basic gradient that are currently chosen (in tools pannel) like it was in all previous versions? It's really annoying- I have to change colors erey time in the gradient options, instead of what was before -  photoshop used current foreground color (i use it for shadows, for example)

I am working on a project for work (Commercial Edition) where I need to rotate a text box 90degrees and be able to type, edit, reshape the text box and move it around with out it changing the font size, shape, kerning, alignment or serifs of the fonts. Vertical orientation is not what I am looking for.   would also like to be able to “justify” the text vertically inside the aforementioned text box so that it is centered on the text box’s center (which is important for text to appear centered when snapping to grids) I also can not find a walkthrough on how to apply blending options directly to the text while keeping it-text and not making it an object or rasterizing the layer. Thank you Please advise.

Using latest photoshop 2026 version, and still, nothing fixes the problem for tiny fonts on a 4k display monitor…Preferences UI scale to Large, nothing. Enabling High dpi scaling in photoshop exe, nothing….By the way, going to interface and choosing UI font size as tiny, small, medium, large does absolutely nothing different. It's always the same tiny font...So, has anyone ever come up with another solution that actually works?

I have an old but sweet Canon iPF 6400 printer and from PhotoShop (current version) its plug-in no longer runs. The error message is that it is not installed correctly or at all. It worked as usual a few days ago and many years prior. I suspect a recent update to PS dropped it into the netherworld. Does Creative Cloud keep a history so I can revert to the last PS update? Probably I could reinstall the printer plug-in but I would loose all my preset paper sizes etc.Thanks.

I’m an occasional Photoshop user  accessing  instructional videos on Youtube when I need to do something specific.  In this case after four tries I’m not getting to my goal and need some help.I took several photos of art drawn by son on  his bedroom walls.  I want to extract the drawn images from the wall background.  I’ve tried selecting a color range, converting image to greyscale and other approaches.  None of the approaches are satisfactory. My latest approach is to select a color range , create a mask and then apply a solid color to the drawing. But the drawing is not dark because it is missing some pixels.  If I feather the selection it picks up other parts of background.To replace the background I  use color range to select the drawing, invert, create a mask and then add a solid color.  This seems to work but the drawing does not stand out as described above.Ideally I would like to make the selection of the drawing with low fuzziness and expand the selection somehow it to darken

This should be fairly simple, but I am having a lot of trouble converting a photo to a line drawing.  I thought there was once a filter for just that, but maybe I am dreaming that. Any suggestions?

I work with large files - often 4+ GB - with many layers in P:hotoshop. I have a new MacBook Pro M5 Max with 128 GB RAM and a 4 TB SSD drive. What should I set cache levels at? 

Help! I lost all settings - actions, short cuts, brushes etc after the latest update. I - apparently - don’t have a back up and if I do I don’t know how to find it. I installed the previous PS version, didn’t work. Installed the one before that, still didn’t work. I have looked online and found nothing of use. WHAT DO I DO?

Yesterday an update of Photoshop (27.7.0) and ACR (18.3.1.2580) came out. Lens profiles for Samsung S25 Ultra are missing in both. In the previous release I could use them.Please fix this bug

This is the kind of thing that drives me insane.  Hours ago I wanted to open some images in "bridge".  The images are all RAW files- images of the the Milky Way (night sky) that I wash to stack, with the idea that multiple images of the same night sky will show extensive detail when stacked, etc. The problem is they have a pad lock symbol on them.  This makes them a 'read only' image.  There is no obvious way to open these images.  Two books on photoshop provide no answers in the index.  Secondly, I want to auto- align these images, but there does not seem to be a way to do this in CS-4.  Any ideas are appreciated.Now for constructive critisim of Adobe.  For the extremly expensive product you sell, you do a horrible, horrible job providing your customers with what they need to use the software.  Why isn't a DVD included with the software that provides extensive, detailed information needed so a question can be easily answered?  Why do y

I just installed Ps production rel. 27.6. The release notes suggested I should be able to use partner models with Reference Images. I cannot get that to work (Win 11). I’ve tried a few different approaches with different images (I select an area of my image, download a ref image, in that dialog box say I want the object to be used and swapped into the selected area on my main image). I’m not able to use any partner models in that process. The only way for me to get a Generate option that works is with the new Firefly Fill and Expand model. Did I misunderstand that partner models should work also? If so, can someone pls detail the steps to get them to work using Reference Images? Thx in advance!

I cannot get Generative Fill to work properly.   I’ve done this hundreds of times before but now for some reason it isn’t working.  I used the object tool in lasso mode to select the branch above the bird, clicked on generative fill without any text in the box and this is what I got.  And like I said, I’ve used this hundreds of times in the past with zero issues with the same exact process. Any ideas on how to rectify this?  I would really appreciate the help! 

how do i remove the intrusive  “send to firefly boards’ which is an option inconveniently placed right next to export  “file to web” ?  is this 1984 ? am i the only one who finds this new option a covert attempt to monitor content created in a program that one is charged nearly $70 a month to use ? hmmm?  if one accidentally chooses that option, which has happened numerous times ,  forcing me  to  take the time away from my work to go to the firefly boards and delete the file, twice... Oh and btw if you accidentally choose “send file to firefly boards”,  and then attempting to cancel ? forget it … it never ever cancels ...never, it just sends the file to the firefly boards anyway . WHY HAVE THE OPTION TO CANCEL ,WHEN CANCEL IS  COMPLETELY SUPERFLUOUS ? 

I try to use “save as” on an image in Photoshop (V27.7) and the “Save to cloud” option is greyed out. I am trying out the Firefly boards and need to save as a specific format - I am unable to do this.

I bought a new laptop a few months ago: a Lenovo LOQ 15IRX10 (15.6", Intel i7, 16GB RAM, 1TB SSD). It is a good laptop with solid performance, but since I bought it I have been unable to work properly with Camera Raw in Photoshop.The main problem is that every time I try to edit a photo in Camera Raw, the whole system freezes. Photoshop suddenly closes, and sometimes the computer even shuts down completely.Adobe Support told me that the issue is probably related to the laptop itself.I have already tried everything I could think of:installed all Windows updates, including optional updates; downloaded and installed the latest Nvidia drivers from the official Nvidia website for my Nvidia GeForce RTX 5050 Laptop GPU; selected the Nvidia GPU inside Camera Raw preferences; changed the BIOS settings so that the system uses only the Nvidia RTX 5050 graphics processor instead of integrated graphics.Unfortunately, nothing solved the issue. I really do not know what else to do. I can no longer wo
