So here's an idea. I work as a digital compositor and often have huge layer stacks and layers that use plugins etc on my Macbook Pro. I work with both Smart Objects and Linked Files, especially the linked files complicate an iPad Macbook workflow as I don't need nor want files to love on my SSD and in the Cloud and having to update one or another. Most files take upto 40GB at times and waiting for a full up/download takes time. Besides I don't need the full document on my iPad I just want to fine edit some masks or brushwork.I would love a feature where I could send a layer with a mask as a "smart object or iPad object" to my iPad version to refine it. Then "apply" it and have the changes sync back to my original PSB document. This would make it a great companion app and device to switch up work and posture. hope it makes sense 🙂 Roderique "Dracorubio" Arisiaman
Can I customize the keyboard shortcut for creating a new layer without the New Layer popup? It's now CTRL+SHIFT+ALT+N, which is pretty insane. At the same time CTRL+N is reserved for creating a new document, even though users arguably use it a lot less than creating a new layer. Ideally I would change the shortcut for something even easier, like for example CTRL+< so I could create a new layer really quick with my left hand. I tried Mike Chambers' CreateNewLayer-script, but either it doesn't work with CC 2015 or I don't have the skillz to make it work.
Hej! When using radial blur on an image in Photoshop it is quite often important where the centre of the blur will be, for example to keep a face sharp but blur the surrounding. It would be great to either have some live preview of the radial blur, or if that is to gpu intensive, to at least be able mark the centre in the image with a click (instead of in the small black and white preview, which gives very low precision).
I just realized that Rec. 2020 has been added as a selectable working color space to Camera Raw (v.16.3.1) Why not add it to Photoshop also as a selectable working space (not present in Photoshop v. 25.9.0). It is a perfect color space for editing for print as it covers practically all printable or surface colors (Pointer's gamut) and is not overly large as Prophoto RGB for print purposes.
Hello Photoshop Community, With the rise of AI-generated images in design, more people want to print these images on shirts. However, these images are flat and need color separation for printing. We need a filter, action, or one-click tool in Photoshop to automatically separate colors and prepare images for print, without the manual work of spot color and adjusting levels and saturations.
Not sure why this still isnt a function - but the path needs to stay with the image when you move the image to another document. The path also needs to resize and rotate with the image. Currently the way to do this is very long (making vector masks) - when a simple link path to it's image function would be super useful and save me a lot of time. As a product photographer, I need to combine seperate product psds (each with their own paths) into 1 photo and need all the paths to come with the images and resize to their images in the new document. Right now this process is long and stressful. A simple link path to image function would be amazing.
Hi Adobe Design Team, I just bought the iPad Pro 13" M4 with the Pro Pencil. I immediately downloaded Photoshop expecting that I would be able to move my digital editing to this format. What a surprise to find that Photoshop on the iPad does not include the artistic filters, etc... This completely limited my ability to work productively while in the field. Is there any plans to include all of the filter options in an upcoming update? You are already my hero by designing such a great program... now I want to move Photoshop to Superhero status by offering the full program for my new iPad. Thanks for your consideration and support. In a past version (long ago) the pen path had a very useful option that dissappeared, one I'd love to see reinstated if possible. When points were created you could click on the path and hold down the shift key, the handles would remain in their orientation and simply lengthen or shorten to allow you to adjust the path position. When you attempt it now, the handles annoyingly rotate. Please bring it back!
When will I ever see artistic filters on my iPad version of photoshop?
Often when doing portraits of people, I find that no matter how hard I try when shooting, afterwards the subject’s clothes are still a bit wrinkled, usually the men’s shirts. Would it be possible to smooth out fabric- namely bring up the shadows, and bring down the highlights, making the fabric look smoother? It would be similar to using the stamp tool, set to lighten, or darken, to even out tonality of clothing. Of course, it would have to be smart enough not to get rid of buttons or pockets and stitching. And if it could straighten shirts, mainly where they are pulled at the buttons, or gapped in the front…. This would be a huge help and save time retouching images for clients.
Real estate photos with complex windows that are too bright to see the outside view are hard to select and mask out. An AI ability to select the glass window only (like the object selection tool) would be a fantastic tool. It would save tons of tedious time selecting windows using the lasso, magnetic lasso, and polygonal seleciton tools. Light level based selections also don't fully work because portions of the view through the windows are darker than others, like close up trees, or balcony furnature. Window glass selection is the most desired selection process for my real estate photography team.
I would love to see the equivalent of a "Mute" button on the generative fill taskbar, for the many cases I need to extend the canvas without using generative fill (extending transparent backgrounds). I understand GF is a cool feature, but the current implementation is very much "In Your Face". In the meantime, how do I quickly deactivate gen fill (without deactivating the whole bar)?Any ideas?
The central figure is a young woman with long, dark hair that falls past her shoulders. She is depicted in profile, with her gaze directed slightly upward as she exhales a stream of smoke. Her expression is calm and reflective, possibly indicating a moment of introspection.
An idea of applying an Smart Action to a layer e.g. 'Remove background'. Then when you replace or relink to a new image the action of 'Remove background' would automatically cut out the new image.
Hello!!! Could you please implement the timelapse recording as it is in clip studio? It is a tool that helps immensely to all digital artists to promote ourselves and make speedpaints of our works of art. I don't want to use Clip Studio, it seems to me a very limited tool, but the only thing that I think it does compete with Photoshop is the Time lapse tool, PLEASE IMPLEMENT IT, I BEG YOU, I CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT IT, I think it would make a difference if you implement it.
I guess this post is kind of a long ramble of what features of vanishing point I believe need improvement, as well as an open discussion. Perhaps there are some features and options that I am unaware of or am not using correctly. I am open to any advice/feedback that anybody is willing to give. I love using vanishing point, but it feels terribly underdeveloped. The features are so limited, and I wonder if they have to be? Or if I am missing something? GRID SIZEFor example: I am working with a 3-D cube raster image that I have designated in my mind to be 24" x 24". I have set my two planes, and all I want to do is subdivide my plane grids into 24 x 24 grids so I can lay grout lines for a sheet of tile with the correct perspective spacing and size difference. To achieve this is a lot more difficult than you'd think.I have attempted to adjust grid size and play with extending the plane so my grid lines up to the edges of my cube, but I just can't get it to work. I'll get the X ax

I had the misfortune of updating photoshop and it unistalled/removed my old version, including the gradients I've used and imported in multiple different projects. Now, I can'f find it anywhere. I would like to assume that if I've imported a set of gradients into a project, they would continue to exist, but it's been scrubbed clean. Is there anyway to recover them? What happes to files as such when CC removes a version of a program from your computer? Is there a way to somehow restore the program files, or at least the gradients? Why do you hate us Adobe? I feel like I just lost a loved one and I'm trying to not have a mental breakdown.
Why isn't it possible to set alignment to canvas in preferences, or keep it at the last used option? I add a year to my images for special purposes and have to set alignment to canvas each time when I start PS. Shouldn't be that difficult but will make life easier. Thanks!
It would be helpful to have a checkbox in the "Export As..." box to disable automatic cropping when a layer is exported. Without this, it's impossible to bulk-export transparent frames from an animation without PS adding juddery movement as it tries to centre and crop (then re-expand the canvas). In the example below, 50 transparent frames were loaded into PS, then "Export As..." was used to save them again, leading to judder. The smooth version was done by switching layers on and off and saving the image for each one, which is really time consuming.Adding a tickbox to disable automatic cropping (so PS just leaves the canvas size alone) would make it much easier to modify basic animations like this without firing up After Effects.
I've just seen yet another thread complaining about the new gradient tool, which is sad because a lot of people are potentially missing out on a much more powerful gradient tool when advised to select Classic Gradient in the Options Bar. Of course there are times when the simplicity of the Classic Tool is the right choice and I would love to toggle between them with a shortcut, which could be done if the New Gradient Tool was added to the Toolbar, like below. People who use shortcuts probably never use the Paint Bucket Tool, so we could chose to disable its shortcut, and toggle between the two gradient tools with the G key. My UI mock up could do with a better icon for the New Gradient Tool, but I think you get the idea. There would need to be an indicatior in the Options Bar so we knew which tool was selected.
Over-detailing a common issue among artists and designers who habitually zoom in too much while working in Photoshop. It'd be great if we could cap zoom at percentages of our choosing.
Do you know if CS6 will allow to adjust curves for a 32bits/Chanels image ?
Photoshop developers - Please give users the option to completely remove the Compass Rosette when rotating canvas - via all means and not just scrubbing Rotation in Toolbar. When doing fine tone and shading, it's so distracting having this massive, ugly compass pop up right in the middle of screen, every time you rotate the canvas. If it can be turned off using the scrubber in the Rotation Toolbar, surely the user can be given the option to turn it off across all Rotation methods? Thanks.
I love using Adobe programs but even though the theme is black in Windows, these menus(file edit composition layer etc.) remain white in After effects Photoshop and Audition, so the color change option should be added.
