Photoshop Elements

I have Adobe Premiere Elements 9 and Adobe Photoshop Elements 9.  I acquired a computer virus and had to do a Clean Install.  That wiped off all my programs, etc.  I have the DVD's for both the above programs and reloaded them.  The reload went OK except for when I want to run ORGANIZER I get an error message..."DirectX could not be initialized.  Please be sure that is installed on your system.  You can download the latest DirectX installer from:  http//www.microsoft.com/directs."  This website does not work..  It says that the page I requested can not be found.I have directx version 12 on my computer.  Do I need directx 9 and if so, how do I get it? I'm trying to backup my catalog in Elements Organizer 2020 and it gets to prepare for backup and then crashes, the size of file approx 880GB.  Any ideas   Thanks   [Moving from generic Start/Help forum to the specific Program forum... Somehow, Organizer thinks the same NAS folder(s) is (are) multiple different folders depending on case variations (UPPER, lower, Mixed) of the path. Somehow, apparently depending on (something I still don't recognize so am still not able to avoid) about how/when they got added, images are getting different case(s) (as in UPPER/lower/Mixed) of the path and Organizer is too dumb to recognize that the SMB filesystems are case insensitive. Folders "View as list" shows all of them. Folders "View as tree" only shows one of them. This problem has existed in Organizer for years/many Organizer versions and I've never found a good workaround/fix. I've complained about it in every pop-up "Would you recommend Photoshop Elements to a friend?" survey for probably a decade now. Just dragging the images from one folder to the "other" in Organizer causes more chaos because the image is already in the destination folder (hint to Adobe: it's the same file/same folder) so it creates a copy. Habe Elements 2024 neu installiert. Sehe leider im Organizer nur die Hälfte der Bilder, die anderen werden nur als graues Vorlagebild dargestellt mit einem Papierblatt in der Mitte, das gerissen ist. Sind alles Handybilder mit JPEG in der gleichen Größe MB. Habe bei Bearbeiten Sichtbarkeit auf "ALLE" gestellt. Im Editor sind sie dann auf einmal ersichtlich. Hilft mir aber nichts, wenn ich sie vorher über den Organizer bewerten will. Wer kann mir helfen?  

I have just purchased Adobe Photoshop Elements & Adobe Premiere Elemnts 2024.To my amazment and when considering what these programmes are surpost to achive all the icons now down the left hand side of Photoshop are all in black & white.Having purchased many versions before, this new home screen looks very cheap and nasty compared to previous versions. Can the developers do a quick update fix please?

I'm using PSE 2022 on a MAC and having a difficult time converting a photo for screen printiing.  In MODE I've converted the photo to grayscale and then selected BITMAP.  In the BITMAP box, my Resolution and Output both match at 300 pixels/inch.  HOWEVER, when I select "Method" I do not have an option to use Halftone Screen.  I need to find the settings for the screen frequency and angle.  I'm lost trying to work this out.   Surely someone has a workable solution!  TIA

When I move the window around on my monitor attached to my laptop, the contents look corrupted/repeated, and I am unable to click directly on certain items, such as the Organizer/Photo Editor buttons:The window also does not maximize properly.

After creating a selection, and choosing the Text on Selection Tool, the next step is to click on the selection and then click the checkmark and then get the Horizontal Type tool. Once I click the checkmark, the box disappears. It's not allowing me to text on the selection.  I have made sure that my OS (Mac/M1 - Sonoma 14.3.1) is up to date and I have uninstalled and removed PSE 2024 and then redownloaded it.  There is an issue with this software.  Previous versions have worked.  Can you offer a solution or a fix for this?

Hallo, ich habe Photshop Elements 2024 gekauft. Online in meinem Adobe Account ist es regisstriert. Aber nach Installation auf dem PC und starten des Editors wird auch vom Programm selber der Lizenzkey abgefragt.Diesen gebe ich ein zur Freischaltung und erhalte als Dank eien Mitteilung das es nicht geht da eine Verbindung zum Internet hergestellt werden muss, wobei ich natürlich eh geracde in diesem Moemnt ja Online bin. Wer hat nen Rat?Liegt es an Windows z.B. Defender oder ist es ein Adobe Problem?Danke im voraus.Holger

I had Elements 11 in my old laptop. Need to reinstall that to my new laptop, but I don't have a licence number any more. Adobe site offering only new 2024 version to install a trial. Is there any way to reinstall that old version to my new laptop? 

When I try to edit a picture in elements 2024. I click on the picture in my organizer and click editor and this is what I get. Chould not complete your request because of a disk error. Thank you for any help you give me.

Photoshop Elements 2021 is crashing when attempting to crop an image. This problem has just developed suddenly, as it started happening mid-February 2024. Tech support recommended I upgrade to the latest version of Photoshop Elements. I downloaded the trial version, and the 2024 version is also crashing when attempting to crop an image. Is anyone else having this problem? Has anyone determined a fix? I am running on Windows 11 Home Edition.

What does Photoshop Elements Organizer "import" actually do, and why is importing needed?  Where does it put the photos after it imports them?  Why can't I just leave them where they are? Like, never you trouble your little mind about that, just do it, you'll like it, we at Adobe know what's best for you. OK, here's my new-user rant: It irritates me that I should even have to ask this here, like I'm too stupid to understand what a computer does.  The brain-dead Help docs don't even hint that anyone might want to know this.  I want the organizer to leave my pictures right where they are, and documentation that doesn't even address this is crappy documentation.  But I know there's no chance in hell they will fix that,

After adding photos and videos to my PSE catalog I have tried repeatedly to do a full backup to a new folder.  I get as far as "Please wait while Elements prepares..." and then nothing.  Last night it ran all night with the disk running at 80% with nothing stored in the folder.  I turned off all media analyses and face recognition, but that didn't help.  I can still manipulate the items in the catalog, but can't save my work. I use Windows 10 with adequate memory and disk space and have tried to backup both the home drive and to an external hard drive with the same result.

I just purchased and installed Photoshop Elements 15 on my Mac Pro. While in Guided Mode - Photomerge compose, after clicking Next to place my cropped image into the new image I receive the following error: ICC Profile Description is Invalid. Is there something wrong with where I installed the file (which was just the default directory)? I downloaded the new ICC color profiles from the adobe site and installed to the location specified in the instructions but still had the same error. Most of the ICC errors seemed related to printing that I found on these forums. Any thoughts on what else I can try to complete the Photomerge compose? Thanks all

I'm a long-time Elements user (since Elements 3 I think) and I have some recently acquired .jsx files I need to use in Elements 2024, but I cannot find an answer anywhere on the web, including the Adobe forums. Does anyone know how to do this? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Ich arbeite unter Windows 11, habe einen kleinen und einen großen Monitor in Benutzung. Der kleine Monitor hat eine Skalierung von 200% (WINDOWS/EINSTELLUNGEN/BILDSCHIRM) der große eine Skalierung von 100%. PS Elements erkennt die Skalierung nicht, weshalb die Darstellung zu groß ist.

I've been using Elements 11 for years and am very familiar with formatting and cropping photos and printing them.  However, recently after editing a photo, when ever I am in print mode and I choose a photo size to print, if I rotate it and move it on the page, it will crop the sides off when I print it out.  Is there a setting I need to change so this doesn't happen?  

I purchased Photoshop Elements on a free adobe account a couple years back and installed it on my PC.If I now wish to install it on a laptop as well, do I need to purchase it again or does my original purchase cover me across both systems?

I have just installed Photoshop Elements 2024 on a new IMac (first time user of Elements) and when I open photos from my IPhone in Elements they are opening as thumbnails. What am I doing wrong? 

I have been using Photoshop Elements 1.01 since I bought my computer in 2007.  My machine crashed last year and the hard drive was reformatted by a technician who installed current versions of the basic software.  I reloaded several of the programs which I used regularly.  However, Photoshop Elements would not install.  I get the error message that I need Internet Explorer 4.0 or greater to install it.  My Computer has IE 11.  Is there anything I can do to reinstall my PE?

Hello Adobe PSE Community members, When I purchased a new computer last year, I used the tools in PSE 2022 to move my photos. In my previous Pictures folder on my previous computer (Win 10), I had a logical folder hierarchy that ranged from 2-4 folder in depth. When I used the tool in PSE 2022 to migrate the DB to my new Win11 computer, it completely changed the folder hierarchy. Fortunately, I have the old hierarchy backed up on a portable HDD, exactly the way I want it. The question is two part:1) If I delete the current (messed-up) folders in my Pictures folder and copy the backed-up ones into the Pictures, will PSE autmatically re-connect the DB to the images in the replaced folder structure?2) Is there a better way to do this? Jay B.

When trying to open some photos, an error message pops up.  It is:  "Could not complete your request because a JPEG marker segment length is too short (the file may be truncated or incomplete)." These photos were downloaded from the same card and at the same time as photos that do open.  If you have a solution for this, please advise me on what actions to take.   Thank you.
