Photoshop Elements

I have noticed that Nikon Nef raw files converted to PSD files are about twice as large as those converted to TIF files. What is stored in the PSD files that's not stored in the TIF?

I am trying to use Gaussian blur.  I lasso it and all but when I go to Gaussian blur it says it cannot it as no pixels are selected.  I see Feathering pixels but no place to do this.  I have done this before quite a bit but not for a long time - PS 12.  How can I get in and use Gaussian blur?  Thank you very much.

I am using Elements 2019 and the Lasso tool.  I have an image that has two different sections that I want to select and remove.  I can select one section with no problem.  When I hold the shift key down and select the second area, the marching ants appear but disappear when I release the shift key.  How do I select both areas?Thanks,Mike

In the meantime, I am using a trial version of Adobe Photoshop Elements 2023 and I am entertaining the idea of buying a full version. However, doubts are raised by the daily report "Elements Organizer encountered a problem and needs to close". I submitted the generated report in this form and nothing happens. So I don't know if I can install the mentioned SW on my PC. The PC has a standard configuration and OS Windows 10 updated.Please advise.     {Title edited by Moderator}

Just bought PSE-2023. Used PSE 2020 before.Difference is the brightness of the workspace (in Expert), which is too bright in PSE 2023. The workspace of PSE 2020 is much darker, which is easier for the eyes. I searched manuals for clue if this is adjustable, but can't find any. Can the brightness be adjusted ?With workspace I mean the desktop or main screen within PSE 

Here is what's happening. APE is closed. I have copied lots of video clips from my camera to a folder in my PC. When I next open APE, I find all the video clips have been added to my catalog. I don't want this to happen as I only use APE for photos. My videos are stored in another system. Clearly I have a switch somewhere that is watching for the video clips to be added to the machine. How do I stop this? I would prefer to manually add any clips or photos to the catalog.

I have tried to post this question three times, now.  Each time before something happened to shut me down.  Do not know what.  The problem is that I have downloaded Photoshop Elements 2023 and find that the format has changed significantly from the 2021 version I was using.  I just moved and my computer did not survive.  I replaced the computer and was unable to reload the 2021 version.  I had the routine down for enhancing my photos with the 2021 version, but that has gone by the wayside with the 2023 version.  Does anyone have any suggestions?  My old brain isn't too friendly with all the new technology.  I really prefer the 2021 format.

 Hallo zusammen, ich nutze Photoshop Elements 2019 und habe heute Camera Raw in der neuesten Version (14.5)auf meinem PC installiert.  Photoshop zeigt mir jedoch weiterhin nur die veraltete Camera Raw-Version an.Auch ein Upgrade auf 14.5 ist nicht möglich. In der alten Version wiederum kann ich keine RAW-Dateien aus der neuen Kamera bearbeiten. Was kann ich tun? Vielen Dank!!

How to fix pixelated font on Photoshop Elements?

I just installed Photoshop Elements 2022 a few days ago. It worked for a few days.Then when I started it, all of the menu desciptions were missing but it did load the image. I restarted and it worked fine.Now I get theCould not initialize Photoshop Elements because of a program errorI am running Windows 10 with all the latest updates. I have plenty of disk space and memory (24 GB). I did the Ctrl, Alt, Shift trick. That did not work. The Organizer works and Elements 9 runs fine.

for the first time ever, after I uploaded pics to Flickr, the pics are no longer in my adobe album. What happened? I am using Adobe Elements Organizer 2020 and it has the latest update.

I been away from photo editing for a while, but now that I had a career change and I will be spending more time at home I went ahead and got me a new macbook M1 and immediately I wanted to get back into editing my photos, what a shoker...    My old Photoshop Elements 6 not sure if it will run, I have the disk, but I don't have a drive to install it.   I downloaded the new 2023 version of photoshop element, and I hate it, it no longer looks like photoshop, it acts more like one of those cheap made free apps, there is no work flow that can be delvelope with the new Elements 2023.   I went out exploring other options from diferent developers and the interface is so unfamiliar that I can even find the tool to crop an image in Pixelmator.   I love lightroom but I refuse to rent software with monthly payments, and I don't even know how lightroom interface looks anymore if it also has changed.   At this point I feel so foreign to everything available out there, s

I currently use Photo Elements 12 on a WIN10 platform.  I'm trying to condense my catalog on here by more recent dates, and want to delete older albums in bulk rather than time consuming 1 by 1.  When trying to delete there are cases where it won't allow me to delete some albums.  So my question is: How can I delete multiple albums at once without unstalling PE12 totally and starting from scratch?

I've been updating Photoshop Elements every year since 2017.I cannot install Elements 2022 or Premier Elements 2022.The popup installation window is too small compared to the font so no buttons are visible to do the install. I have tried 27" and 32" monitors. I have tried every screen resoltion size and percent. I have tried as administrator and as user. I have tried via my adobe account, and via downloaded link. I have tried Chrome, FireFox and Edge. I tried in Windows 10 and I tried in Windows 11.  I tried Adobe chat which turned out to be a robot that told me to google it after answering 3 questions didn't solve. I tried cancelling the sale and getting a refund. Then waiting several weeks and trying the purchase again will all the same results.Why does the install popup not work?

Trying to open program and more and more frequently I was getting messege "Could not initiate Photoshop Elements because the disk if full." I moved some image files to another drive and I thought that cured it. Find now that is not the case and I consistantly get the image. The program is useless under these circumstance. What is a plain and simple fix?

Hello,I hope someone can help me. I have PSE 2020 and PSE 2023 (trial version) installed on my PC, Windows 11. I have attached 2 images, one from PSE 2020 showing the Home screen as it should be and the other from PSE 2023 which is completely blank. I have run the executable as administrator and uninstalled and reinstalled twice. I restarted the pc after uninstall and restarted again after installing the second time. What can I do to have the 2023 home screen perform as it normally should? All suggestions will be appreciated.Thanks for your assistance,Larry
