Photoshop Elements

I just bought Adobe PSE 2024 today, and I am trying to figure out how to access some of the features. I've used Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Photoshop Elements in the past, just previous versions. I am not able to select to add or view or do anything with layers. If I have a selection, I am unable to copy or do anything with it. I am also unable to turn on or off the 'windows' for viewing.  I've also checked, and my mode is set to RGB, not to Indexed Color. I saw some people say to change from 16 bit to 8 bit, but I don't see how to do this in this version. Thanks!

Hi.I have just noticed the an extra folder has appeared in my PSE 2023 actions panel. (see attached .png)It is in Spanish i.e. Contrasta.It looks like Contrast and Sharpness adjustments.Should it be there?Is it worth keeping?Can I change it to English?I don't think it is anything to do with the Elements+ plugin.I did a Reset Actions > Append and it didn't appear a second time.Has anyone else seen this? Cheers.Roy   

I have Photoshop Elements 2024.  The CROP TOOL malfunctions.  For example, when I begin the crop function, the dash line crob box jumps all over and will not retain the crop the I have drawn.  I cannot pull the crop into the correct position using the crop handles.  Sometimes the tool just crops the way it wants.  Other times it doesn't crop at all but stays active even when click the green checkfmark. To get it to stop, I have to close the image and exit Photoshop Elements and then reopen it, but sometimes that doesn't work either.  I tried removing the program and re-installing it.  No luck.  Because I do work for a museum on vintage photos, I need this work NOW!In desperation, I bought a new 2024 application and tried again.  I am also having glitchy problems with the spot healing and clone tools, but that is another story.Is this something that is a problem specific to 2024?

     I purchased and downloaded PE 2024 from Amazon in late April and ran into the "ippCV Library" error. I followed procedure in the post by Harry36641672it5z (April 10 - Subject: "PE 2024 EDITOR Wont open") and have been using 20230922 (from the splash screen) successfully ever since.     In mid-June I became aware that version 24.3 had become available, supposedly fixing this problem. I opened my (20230922) version and went to the "Help" menu. I found that the "Updates..." menu item wass grayed out. I then went to "Edit->Preferences->General->Application Updates": I had set it to "Notify me when an update is available" - but I was never notified. Then I changed the setting to "Automatically download and install..." - but still nothing happened and "Updates.." was still grayed out.     If I download from the "My Products" section of My Account or from https://redeem.licenses.adobe.com/getserial, I get the same version that I'm alr

Purchased genuine version at Microsoft. Without Chinese, it is painful to use

I have a current subscription to Photoshop Element 2023, running on Windows.  Was forced to buy a new desktop with Windows 11.  Downloading 2023 edition fails.  Is it an problem with the new Windows?   [Mod: Moved to the appropriate Photoshop Elements forum]  

Hi, pretty much what it says above — I use the Levels tool fairly frequently to adjust images, but today, literally out of nowhere, hitting cmd-L or using the menu option only activates the color picker tool. No idea what I might have done to trigger this, but would love help on restoring a pretty vital part of this program. Thanks in advance! 

I'm baffled that PSE Organizer 2022 creates unselectable duplicate images, and at times when scrolling will fill the screen with columns of duplicate unselectable images. So I purchased PSE 2024 64bit,and the same issue occurs. I'm running the latest version of Windows 11 Pro, 32Gb RAM, nVidia T1000 video card, and Intel iCore-i7 processor. All s/w and drivers are up to date. I've tested all the major components of my system, RAM, storage, swapped out video card, etc. and all passed. I've run and eliminated all duplicate image files and videos. I've reloaded the OS, PSE, to no avail.          An example or two is shown below of what is displaying.

I made a video using Photoshop Elements but now it won't play. I keep getting this popp stateing that the document is the wrong file typl see screen shot attached to this post. Help from anyone please.

I am using Elements 19. I've been enlarging images (mostly jpg and mostly business logos with logos) using first Image Size with the Bicubic Smoother option, then Enhance > Adjust Sharpness. This has worked very well to provide clean lines/text on images to be displayed on a very large screen. However, I have an original that is in a png format. Neither the Bicubic Smoother or the Adjust Sharpness option is available (they're grayed out). I tried converting that image to jpg, then doing the enlarge & sharpen steps, but had the same results. Does anyone know why this is happening, and more importantly, an alternate way to achieve similar results? This particular original image is in more need of "sharpening" that most I'm working on!

I recently updated to Photoshop Elements 2024 from version 13. One of the tools I use most in Expert Mode is the Adjust Lighting: Shadows/ Highlights. In version 13, the preview adjusts instantly as I move the slider, so I know exactly where to stop without having to release the mouse button. In Photoshop Elements 2024, nothing happens to the prieview until the mouse button is released which means I cannot see dynamically the changes to the image and have no idea where on the slider I need to be. This is a complete deal breaker for me, and if there isn't a way to overcome this shortcome, I will be asking for a refund. Has anyone found a fix?

Guten Morgen, ich habe bereits gegoogelt, aber keine Lösung gefunden.Ich möchte bearbeitete Bilder in PSE23 speichern und anstatt die Bilder im Verzeichnis zu speichern in dem sie liegen, versucht PSE23 diese auf dem Hauptlaufwerk (Macintosh HD) speichern. Ich kann nur manuell auf mein Verzeichnis umstellen, es springt immer wieder aufs Hauptlaufwerk zurück und meldet "Kein Zugriffsrecht", wenn ich einfach auf speichern gehe.Ich habe mir auch PSE24 gekauft und runtergeladen, der Fehler bleibt bestehen.Was kann ich tun?Danke,Marc

I restored from backup to new computer, PSE 2022 to PSE 2024. There are about 300 more photos in the catalog. Why is the photo count different? Also, I now have My Catalog, My Catalog I, and My Catalog I I. Can I delete any of these catalogs? Thank you.  

Helloi accidentally deleted some photo files (JPEG) in Windows 7 when transferring them to an ext. hard drive. There are no copies to be found In my computer hard  drive or backups. The thumbnails are still visible in the PSE 8 Organiser but are no longer, and cannot be connected, to the original files. Please can anyone tell me if there any way I can copy these thumbnails so that at  least I still have a record of these photos? Many thanks.

I have just upgraded from PSE2013 to PSE 2024. Catalog copied fine, but videos from PSE 2013 (where they would NOT play) will play in PSE 2024, but they are all in red  colour. How do I fix this ?  

I would like to uninstall many of the hundreds of pre-installed fonts that I don't use. Frustrating to have to scroll through such a long list. I can uninstall from Windows 11 but the fonts remain in PSE. Is there a way to remove them from Elements?

My Canon90D gives CR3 RAW files. My Elements 14 will not read them.. I read some correspondence where users have found complicated "workarounds". I just want it to work! What version of Photoshop would I need to ugrade to so that it will work directly, with no "workarounds".I do not want to have to go through DNG  convertors or Adobe Raw.David - UK

One is white and has a heading 'source' the other is pixcillated and headed 'final'. If I hover the mouse over the right hand one I get the message  '96.2%@(RGB/8)*'   What is going on please? I cannot get on with my work. Its just locked and nothing i do closes it. Help.

The export of the album structure is coded in xml. I have tried to figure out, e.g., how the xml element <tagset-item-value-note> with the value <![CDATA[Seminar ...> is linked to the Organizer ... how to enter and see the values of the element <tagset-item-value-note> in the front end of the Organizer.A description of the exported XML schema file would help a lot. Which data in the Organizer goes where in the XML file.Thanks,Karlheinz Schwarz 

Does Adobe Elements 2024 not support standard mapped Windows Network Drives or Windows Samba UNC paths? I've added my photos location on my storage server and it won't import any photos. I can't believe that in 2024 any software that manages files would not support standard network drives.The only posts I see are related to catalog storage. I don't want to store my catalogs remotely, I just want to point Photoshop Elements at my shared storage drive where my family keeps all of its photos. Any advice? Thanks in advance.

I am blurring the backgrounds of a number of portraits. I am aware of common ways to blur background by masking out the subject and blurring the background in the layer below. This is the method I generally use and seems to be the method used within the Elements lens blur and quick actions.  The problem is that the blur of the subject overlaps and fades into the background creating a fringe around the subject. This can only be remedied by cloning the background back over the overlap fringe in the blur layer. That's a lot of work.  Is there a more simple way to do this? thanks / Kozmo

Is it possible to use Adobe Bridge 2024 inside PSE2024 Organizer to edit and change things in images?If so, how would I do that?TIA!

I was disappointed that I couldn't load Photoshop Elements 2024 on my new Microsoft Surface Laptop 7. I gather that there is already an ARM Windows compatible verison of Photoshop but as an occasional-use amateur, I can't justify the cost. Will there be an Elements version, and if so when?
