I have a quiz built in captivate and is published as a .swf file. The quiz is then run through a browser(Firefox). It is a long difficult quiz and occasionally the user will end up not being able to finish the quiz in one session, the browser will freeze, or some other technical difficulty. As of right now if you even refresh the page it starts the quiz completely over. Is it possible to save the users progress so that they can resume the quiz from where they left off? For example after each time they answer a question it saves there current progress or something? I've done a bit of research and haven't found much, not sure if it just doesn't exist or if I'm asking the wrong questions.Thanks!

I have a series of Knowledge Check questions that I am using in an Interactive video.  The handles do not allow you to resize the answer box to put some space in between the answer choices Does anyone know why ?

Hello,I have an existing project that I did in Captivate 2017 which needed some of the software simulation slides changed. I recorded the new software simulation in a separate project hoping to just copy and paste them on to my main project. I have attempted to copy and paste the slides but the background slides are not being pasted on to the main project. Here is what I have done:1. I selected all the slides from the new project and pasted them on to the main project. This resulted captions and mouse actions being pasted.2. I have also tried to do a copy background and paste background resulting to blank slides without any objects.3. I copied the background and pasted it as an image. This resulted to the text animations being placed below the image on the timeline. Furthermore, I could not change the order i.e. moving the picture below on the timeline.Both projects have the same resolution.I am lost of ideas.Thanks for your help.

To answer my question, no. You really shouldn't and here is why.The animation is really bad. Research the animation principles. I understand most people aren't animators but that doesn't mean you should use bad animation in your courses. Most of the stuff I have seen have broken arms, the animation is really clunky, and the animation doesn't make any sense, not to mention the horrible drawings. In animation there is a reason why an animators makes a certain gestures and certain head movements.Using this software is not creative. Please tell me how having a character standing there and just moving his lips is creative? Your course would be better and more rememberable if you just used bullets and pictures.Good character animation is not symmetrical. All the characters stand really straight and are boring. I work with Adobe captivate 8 at one location.When I install captivate 9 on my laptop, can I work on one project in both systems?Can I open a project that has been worked on in the newer version of adobe captivate (9), in captivate of a lower version (8)?(given I don't use any features that don't exist in captivate 8).

I have a course, and some of the Learners failed a few of the modules, This normally no big deal, i just Reset the modules for the user. However, this Course shows 19 Enrolled users, but the list of learners only shows about 9, (& in Self enrolled) and 2 in individuals. The Person shows that she is indeed enrolled on her screen The Course shows enrolled users that i cannot remove.i am signed in as an Admin.How do i restore the list of enrolled learners, with forcing everyone to redo the whole course or having to republish the course.THANKS in Advanced.

In my project, I increment a variable with 1 to count the clics. In flash, it works fine, but in HTML5, it is adding 1....Normaly: clic =1 clic =2 clic=3HTML5: clic=1 clic=11 clic=111Help?

How would I create a box that highlights certain text while the rest of the document is grayed out?

Hi!!!I'm working with a slide, in which I have 1 animated GIF, and 3 SmartShapes, with texts in each of them.The GIF starts at the very begining and the other 3 elements come in with Fade in and Easy In.The GIF animation is suppused to play along the whole slide, while the other objects came in. But everytime an object appears, the GIF animation starts from the begining, and in the last object, plays continiously till the end.Is there a way to solve this?The animation is prepared to be somekind of "sinchronized" with this text boxes coming in.Thanks!

Hello everyone!I'm having a problem with a background image.My captivate proyect it's supposed to be 1920 x 884, so that's my primary view size. My background image is also a JPG 1920 x 884.In the background options I've the height at 100% and the width Automatic, so the image is always full in it's vertical size.Everything seems ok in the captivate preview. But when I publish, in a 1920 monitor, the background it's ok; in a mobile device, the background it's ok. But in my notebook, 1366 x 768, it's not showing correctly.I've tried vertical center, and still having the problem.I know it's not the same ratio, but it's supposed the image should adjust automatically.Can someone help me with this?As you can see in the image, the background image is empty in relation with the magenta overlay, and the items are aligned correctly.

Creating a training simulation in Captivate v9.0.2.437 32bit, the resulting frames animate the text entry rather than requiring the learner to enter the text.I can manually enter a text field for this purpose.  However, I believe it should capture this way.  A team member, using a slightly earlier version of v9 64bit, captures and the result is as expected.How do I capture a text entry action in a training simulation so that the Captivate playback requires the learner to enter text vs showing a recorded playback of text entry?Related:  what is the difference between the the two text options in preferences>modes:

Hi All,I'm having trouble with a custom table of contents that I created.  I followed Paul Wilson's directions on how to create a pop-out table of contents, because I'm looking to maximize my viewing area at all possible times.  However, I didn't really like the way the table of contents just sort of appeared and disappeared like a light switch. What I would like to achieve is to have an ease-in, or equivalent effect applied when you open the menu, and then have the menu ease out when you close it.I've tried to do this a bunch of different ways, but nothing seems to work.  What keeps happening instead, is that the first time, it works beautifully, but on subsequent toggles, the menu moves further and further towards the edge of the screen, until...it just never comes back. I'm wondering how I can get the menu to stay in place when applying this effect, because it seems to just be picking up where the last effect ended.Does that make sense to anyone?Thanks in advance!-Mar

I have 2 categories ..each category has 25 questions. I will use quiz pool for these two categories. I would like to tell the learner how many marks he scored in each category  and also want to let him know the overall score..Knowing the learner the marks for each category or feedback would help him focus on only that category.How to do this kind of quiz in captivate 9?Really appreciate your time and support.

You've got to be kidding... could somone have possibly thought that a program such as this not need some way to space between paragraphs, sentences etc. other than to create multiple objects? I've been using Mac's and Adobe products for 30 years and this one takes the cake... Geez! So I can't import Powerpoint reliably, and I can't create a simple bulleted list paragraph inside of Captivate... Pretty crazy. I'd love to hear the "experts" explain why I wouldn't need that or some crazy work-around to cover the giant collective WTF!Adobe... Hello????

The image/screen is placed on screen2. Images do not rotate3. unable to add hot spots4. when I add a new 360 slide it already has the previous 360/image on it.5, if i close the file and start a new one it already has the image from the previous file!! and on all the slides I might add.6. previewing the project does not show anythingThe images are 360 as I can get them to work in other software and I have used ME to ensure they are H263 both VR and Non VR and used Photoshop to create 360 panaroma as well all failI opened the sample file in that comes with it.  All the 360 images looked like the one I had been testing but when I run it in preview it worksAny ideas?Andy

Hi,I'm hoping someone can help a keen learner with an idea I have for a slide. Also, I'm using Captivate 2019.In very basic terms, the vision I have is for the slide to have 3 hidden objects and 3 visible buttons.  Each object will be 'paired' with a button, when a button is clicked, it will show its paired object.There are some conditions I'd like the objects/buttons to have;-  Only 1 object can be visible at any given time-  Buttons can be revisited on the slide (basically cycled)-  The user can click from button to button-  If the user clicks anywhere else on the slide, the visible object disappearsIn advance, I appreciate your time and any help you can offer to achieve my goal.Thank you.

My MS Office 365 updated this morning.  Following the update PowerPoint froze reporting application not responding.  I wound up uninstalling Presenter, reinstalling Office and PowerPoint worked as expected.  I reinstalled Presenter 11.1 and once again PowerPoint froze as soon as I opened a presentation.  I uninstalled Presenter and PowerPoint works as expected.  How do I get the current version of PowerPoint (Version 1809 Build 10827.20138) to work with Presenter?

Trying to figure out another issue here. We are using out of the box questions slides, infinite attempts with the correct/incorrect stuff showing up when you submit. We have issues with questions slides being randomly skipped. It doesn't happen to everyone but some people, regardless of browser, get to a question and it skips ahead sometimes and number of slides.I can't recreate this on my machine at all. Using HTML5.Anything in particular I can look for to help me troubleshoot this?

I just found an interesting feature/bug in Captivate 2017.If you have audio on a slide, and a have added a .oam file (HTML5 animation from Adobe Animate). The audio ends up controlling when the animation starts and stops.The .oam will not play until the audio is playing, and the .oam will stop when the audio stops. If you look at the screen shot below, the .oam is on the slide timeline from the first frame to the last. The audio starts at 3 seconds and ends around 43 seconds. This means that the .oam animation will also start at 3 seconds and end around 43 seconds.The workaround is to extend the audio file to be equal to the length of the slide.

Hi,Since several days ago I'm not being able to publish videos to youtube.I'm using the latest version of captivate (2019) with the latest updates.I usually publish videos with no problem but sudenly it stays indefenetly in the "Please wait" screen after loging in to youtube and does nothing else.Can anyone help?Thanks

Good morning,I have a course where the client wants the learner to be able to choose at the beginning for the course to automatically advance/progress or to turn that feature off so the learner can progress the slides themselves using a Continue button(for 508 compliance). Is this possible with Captivate? If so, how do I do this. Please be detailed with the actions. I'm using Captivate 2019.

We are using Captivate 2017When we duplicate a slide that was created in simulation mode, the mouse path does not show up. How can we make the mouse path appear?Also, is there a way to change the starting point of the mouse path? We can change the end point but not that starting point.In addition, the text to caption does not complete before the next text to caption starts appearing. How might we correct this?Thanks for  your help.

How do I convert embedded FLV videos to MP4 when publishing to HTML5? The Adobe Media Encoder launches, but I'm unsure of what to do in that application.Do I need to search for the source FLV file locally and convert it--if so, is it automatically updated in the CPTX file once converted or do I need to embed the new MP4 in place of the FLV video?

I want to build an interaction with JS. I want to use a button to increase the value of a number of a meter as long as the button is clicked and hold it. On release of the button the number has to stay at the last value. Pushing and holding it again has to further increae the value. How to build this with Some JS in CP?Help is very Welcome!

Hi,I'm trying to get text entry boxes to keep the text the user types after moving to the next field.I am creating a demo where the user fills in an online form, but whenever they move to the next field the previous field blanks out.Any tips or pointers is greatly appreciated!Thanks!
