Hi,I'm preparing my company to move from MS Word documentation managment into FM. But...I haven't found any solution yet for creating a Summary of Changes/ List of Changes to the document which covers a live document and not a comparison log. The standard log doesn't really meet our expectations and taking into consideration that I lack experience in the matter of this particular software, I imagine if it is even possible to achieve. If we want to operate fully on FM, tracking replaccement of figures and tables should be available.The perfect way that i'm looking for is to list changes inside one of subchapters of the initial document and it will be up to date (creating new entries with every change made) as new rows in table with date, version number, affected pages and brief description of changes made.I don't know if my explenation is sufficient, but anyway thank you for any provided support that will bring me one step closer to achieve this goal.

For about 2 weeks now, we have been experiencing an error when writing books to PDF (Save as PDF). Previously it worked without any problems for months. The process now suddenly hangs at different times. The CPU load increases sharply at this point. Even after hours, the situation does not change.Unfortunately, there is no indication as to why the process is not continuing. The log file for the PDF writing suddenly ends without any indication of the problem.The problem seems to be related to the referenced images in a cloud.After several attempts, the process always stops at a different point. In rare cases (1 in 10) it also runs through to the end.The error occurs in Framemaker 2019 (client and server) and also in Framemaker 2022 on several computers.Is there any additional LOG information to narrow down the error or does anyone have an idea what the problem could be?

Has anyone run into issues with the HTML5 conversion in Frame 2022 automatically changing % into %25 (the UTF code for %)? There was a similar issue with ? in Frame 2020 (https://tracker.adobe.com/#/view/FRMAKER-11210). While the issue specific to ? has been fixed (theoretically), this issue remains. I'd like to confirm whether anyone else has or can reproduce the issue. Browser type makes no difference. Most current version of Frame--17.0.  Note: we have links in our materials to sites we don't control, so changing paths or naming conventions isn't always going to be an option. 

Hi, we use pdf files that we insert in framemaker to make a catalog.when we save as pdf, certain pages (always others) showing only parts of the inserted pdf file.how it looks in framemaker en how it should be:what the pdf file shows after Framemaker save as pdf:as you see, a lot of details are missing. Sometimes even a black shape shows in the pdf output... that shouldn't be there at all... anyone tips to solve this? Framemaker 2022, latest updates installed.  

I have just installed FrameMaker but it acts weirdly. The user interface is now a mix of English and Chinese (I think). As yo can see in the screenshot the menus are in English but a lot of the other stuff in Chinese. How do I change this?

Helle all,I am creating an Arabic manual using FrameMaker2020.I'm using Arial font, but I can't display italics.I tried to make it italic, but the characters are garbled.Is it impossible to display Arabic in italics using Arial font in FrameMaker?I was able to display italics using the Arial font in InDesign, but is this not possible in FrameMaker?

I changed my headings from Chapters to Sections. Now only the first section will come up when I try to create a TOC. I have Imported all formats from the first section to all the rest.    What am I missing? 

Hello,  I made my TOC but each time I update the book, it goes back to the defautl police and color. How can I define my police for the TOC ?   Thanks  Sarah  

Hello Dear Readers, I am facing the issue in applying the color palette in FrameMaker tool as explained and shown below.As I have the requirement to update the font color as per below snap and requirements of CMYK specification.  When I tried to apply above said color in FrameMaker (View-->Color-->Definitions..) to text but the desired color is not fetching to the text as shown in below snap. I am using the Adobe FrameMaker 2022, version 17.0.3.546.   I would request if anyone knows the instructions to update the color to the text through CMYK specification , please share. Thank youShiddalingeshwar 

Hello Please advise on the following ...I am using File>Utilities> FileSplitter to breakdown a document into separate documents based on their Headers. However, when I click the Analyse Document button, it just hangs and creates a file called "xxxxCopyFile.fm".  

I am exporting a FrameMaker book to XLIFF, but I get this foot note error when doing the export: I cant' figure out how to troubleshoot this. It looks as if it actually ALL the footnotes which have this ID error. What might cause it? Any suggestions how to fix it?

Hey folks,I'm thinking of writing a script to add local LLM api support to FrameMaker. I basically want to get AI assisted proofreading/text correction by doing the following (using a local lightweight Mistral-7B model):1. Select text, then send it via button press to an LLM client  running on my computer (LM Studio or ollama) for proofreading2. Receive & process the proofreading results3. Apply the suggestions to the text in FrameMaker Before I dive into what might just be an impossible task due to ExtendScript limitations (I'd have to do quite a lot of digging, I'm not a real coder), do you think this is doable? I'd be very grateful for any insights, or tips where to start. 🙂🙏

Hello everyone, I'd like to know why the "Evaluation Kit" section doesn't fill the space on the previous page. Also, why does the graphic appear before the table when the table comes before it in the structuring of the text? How can I solve it? When I insert a paragraph between the table and the graphic, it works, but the same happens with the next section, it doesn't fill the space on the page.  

I want the cell alignment to be central when importing the XML. How can I set the cell alignment to "center" in the rules? Since I can't define it in the EDD as I can in the vertical alignment.  I saw that I could use this info, but I can't make this work.     

I have an HTML Help system created by publishing my Framemaker book file to HTML5. When the Help is created, it has the Search function provided by Adobe. Our customers are finding that the search results are too general/broad. When they enter a term to search on, they often get back a long list of results that they have to wade through, making the Search function somewhat useless.  I have discovered that if they enter multi-word terms surrounded by double quotes, you can target the search results a bit. Is there anything I can do within Framemaker (before I generate the HTML5) to improve or target the search results provided? The development team for our product has suggested that they can provide search functions in the HTML5 files after they are generated, but we were hoping maybe there was something I could do within the source files to provide a better search function.  Please note, I do have an index and that works fine in the Help, but users often just t

The updating of the index for a book in my copy of Framemaker 12 ceases to update.  It has also merged together two separate sets of markers.  Probably a corruption in the program file.  How do I recover? 

Hello, I would like to know if I can create a format for this table type (this is from Word). With independent cells. I tried to do it as in the image below, but I don't think the cells are independent. Is it possible?   

When I import the XML, the columns and rows are mixing in a single-column table, how do I solve this? I'm attaching how it should be and how it's looking.   

Is there a way to create something similar to the following example created in that MS product-whos-name-I-shall-not-speakI tried using the custom leader in the tabs, using an underscore, but that didn't look right - it doesn't line up properly with the actual underline from the text. I have a custom structured application in FrameMaker 2020. When I open the XML file it has the original XML filename with a .xml extension. Is there a way to have the document open and display a .fm file extension? Is this a Read/Write rule setting or something I can set in structapps.fm? Thanks!

We have a Conditional Tag (AU) for content that is specific to Australia and a Conditional Tag (NZ) for content specific to New Zealand. We also have documents with generic content that apply to both. However, there may be subtle differences (e.g. terminology) that is specific to Australia or New Zealand. Instead of maintaining different versions, we assign the respective Conditional Tag to the Australian/New Zealand-specific content. It sometimes happens that this common content may have additional text that is applicable only if the content is used in relation to a specific product. For those, we have another Conditional Tag (e.g. PPLQG_CASHOUT) that is applied to said content. We have a scenario where within the same document, we have content with all three Conditional Tags (AU, NZ, PPLQG_CASHOUT) applied to various content, e.g.Paragraph A: Conditional Tag AU (only shown for AU)Paragraph B: Conditional Tag NZ (only shown for NZ)Paragraph C: Conditional Tags NZ & PPLQG

I get this script error every time I open Frammaker. It doesn't seem to affect anything, but how can I eleminate it?
