Copy and paste within Illustrator is no longer working in any way shape or form after this 30.4 update!

Since updating to the latest version of Illustrator (Regular version) I have not been able to use freeform gradients, I have a client document with multiple versions and use of freeform gradients within it and since the update either I don’t see any fill in the gradient or the app crashes altogether. i have installed a previous version of illustrator and the problem is fixed, I guess this post is just for anyone who is experiencing a similar issue and to flag it for adobe.

On Windows 11 and Mac Tahoe.In the average 8 hour day, Illustrator crashes on me 8-12 times. I lose about 30 minutes to an hour of work everyday. No specific error, sometimes I get the error report screen, sometimes not. Sometimes it recovers, sometimes not. I even have Astute Saviour installed to help stay on top of saving, but since Illustrator won’t auto save while a group is isolated to edit it, then I can be editing within a group for 15 minutes without an autosave, and then I just lose it all and have to start over. Constantly throughout the day. Why not let it save while in a group, why does it kick me out of the group when I save? This feels like an easy fix and more of a secure way to make sure autosaves actually happen.I have grown to absolutely despise Illustrator.Photoshop almost never crashes on me. This just started yesterday when I save SVG files: I get an error message saying that this file already exists at the target location, so it creates a new file with the same name, ending in -01. Whenever I edit any existing SVG file, whether in a desktop folder, iCloud, or in dropbox, it saves the edits as a new file.  I have uninstalled and reinstalled Illustrator. I have updated my mac software and restarted my computer. Nothing is working to stop this duplication from happening. I just want to save my edits without creating duplicate files! This does not happen when I save them as .ai files, but I use SVG files with a machine that doesn’t read .ai file. 

It's a little difficult to explain this properly, but whenever I try to move the Illustrator program window to another part of my screen, it instantly moves behind every other program window I have open. Even if I just move it a teeny tiny bit...boom... now it's behind all the programs I have open. It is very annoying and I can't find a solution anywhere. I dropped in "before and after" screenshots if they help at all. You can see the "Pathfinder" toolbar is still in front of the Chrome window so it's definitely a weird glitch. The issue doesn't happen with any other Adobe program either. I have updated to the latest vesion of AI a few times and still no luck. I have a 2021 Macbook Pro. Anyone have a solution? Thank you.

Hi, I get this error every time I try to save now, and after I try a second time Illustrator crashes. I have too much work on this file to start over again, does anyone have an idea of how I can fix this?

I open a file I’ve been working on, after I updated my Illustrator to 30.4 and it just quits. If I’ve made any changes it will ask if I want to save, doesn’t give me a chance to cancel and it quits. I get maybe 90 sec of work in and it quits.

I'm on the lookout for a simple script to sort an Illustrator artboard list alphabetically. (I don't need the artboards themselves rearranged on the canvas, just the order of the artboards in the list.)In the example (image) below, the artboard list reads:1. life-ring2. wheelchair-alt3. wheelchair4. information...30. blind-walkingThe desired result would be for the artboard list itself to be sorted to read:1. assistive-listening2. assistive-listening-telecoil3. blind-walking4. braille...30. wheelchair-altI've scoured the forums for solutions to this. The closest I could find is here: Sort artboards by name, but it doesn't seem to work in Illustrator CC. I have never used the new ai tools available in Illustrator. However, in the background, they now eat up more ram than the program itself. In an era where there is a massive, expensive, ram shortage, users can not endlessly add more ram to their workstations just to feed features that we are not utilizing. I currently have 32 GB on my workstation. I have never had this issue before.  Please allow users to disable this feature or at the very least, cut off any background processes if these tools are not actively being used.

I am using adobe illustrator 30.3 (latest version) on Windows 11, version 25H2. My issue is with selection and drag with mouse. As soon as I Lauch the application and try with selection and move it works but after one or two operations it stops working and object selection and drag does not work. some keys like space bar also stops working. I did all trouble shooting as suggested by help and support, but the issue remains same. I reinstalled the illustrator after uninstalling but that also did not work, I tried with fresh document and with a simple text but the same thing happens for text also. I am not able to select and move the text with mouse. kindly guide me.

   this image is ai generated can i edit this file in latest illustrator which seprates every part and i cant replace or edit that part like…. is it possible?

Hi everyone,I’m pretty new to Illustrator, so sorry if this is a basic question 😅I’ve noticed that sometimes when I scale or resize shapes (especially after copying or grouping them), they don’t behave the way I expect—like strokes getting thicker, or shapes slightly changing proportions.I’m not sure if this is something I’m doing wrong, or if there’s a setting I should be using (like “Scale Strokes & Effects” or something like that).Could someone explain what’s actually happening here in simple terms? None of my Adobe Illustrator files will open and I have recieved this error that says “Can’t open the Illustration. The file is locked or in use. ID: -54 I tried everything, I restarted my laptop, I tried opening files on Adobe InDesign which worked perfectly but somehow it does not open in Illustrator.

The colors in my working space constantly change to dull and bright again (they need to be bright and I am in RGB)--I have attached a screen recording. This isn’t new--I previously asked about this, and it’s still a problem. As you can see, the colors are only affected in Illustrator--not on the rest of my screen. Sometimes it happens on it’s own without me scrolling, and as you can see, it definitely does it when I scroll. I have 2 other files open, but they are basically nothing. Extremely frustrating to deal with. Does anyone else have this problem or is it just me? My computer is basically brand new, all my files are on an external drive, and all my software is updated.

Turntable is missing from Adobe Illustrator yet in the home screen, it literally shows a promo/tour of the Turntable feature.

I tried using the new lock artboard feature because I wanted to paste an item in place on just one of my artboards. So, I clicked the lock icon next to all of the artboards I wanted to lock in the artboards panel. The problem is-- when I deselected the lock icons for all of the artboards, they remained locked. I can’t get at those artboards anymore! Help!

I don't know how to describe. I've been trying to reinstall it, but it doesn't work. 

Same problem here in Illustrator. Has anyone found any solutions?
