How do you ungroup or expand a pie chart in Adobe Illustrator CS6? This functionality seems to have been removed. Say I'd like to remove the legend: before, I could ungroup the chart, release its link to the data, and then delete the legend with my white mouse. Object > Expand no longer works either. This is supremely frustrating.

I am working on a translation book and need to convert English to Chinese. The file format is Ai, and there were no paragraph or character styles created before.For convenience now, I want to control them using character styles or paragraph styles.For example, my character style only changed the font, without the font size or line spacing.I originally thought it would be okay with just one click, but now I realize that the font size and spacing have changed. I have to readjust every text block again. The workload has actually increased.Is there a way to apply character styles by only changing different fonts without affecting the original settings? 

Illustrator 2021/Mac Book Pro/ Catalina 10.15.7.Yesterday I created a several types of gradients, today I open the file and I'm unable to edit any of the freedom gradients I created? I also used the corner radius to create a rouned square shape for those gradients. Now the gradients that I used the Freedom gradient tool with appear to be images. The layers palette shows them as "non-native art" and the rounded corners are a part of the image. The edit corners is gone? The gradient acts like a raster image? BTW: The regular linear gradient still works as expected and the corners can be edited still. I just updated to Illustrator CC2021 and although the Freedom gradient tool is not new, I rarely use it. So I'm wondering if there's a bug here? Any advise is appreciated. 

Using AI to arrange books is really a sin.InDesign has a homepage that displays page numbers, book eyebrows, and shared reference lines.Is there a way to solve Ai? Repeat the operation?

How is it possible to completely destroy the Image Trace tool?! I work with illustrations created in .psd, convert them to bitmap and save them as .tif. The illustrations can be quite detailed and use halftone textures. I have a custom setting for these in illustrator when I use Image Trace to turn them into vector. In the latest couple of updates this has been completely broken and there’s no work around that I have found. PLEASE FIX IT NOW!! The price for Adobe CC is way to high for issues like this to be acceptable.See screenshots below of preferred outcome and compare to the outcome in the latest version of Illustrator.

Hi all !I have something weird going on, and i hope u can figure it out.I have LENOVO LEGION PRO 5 16IRX9INTEL CORE I7-14700HXNVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 4070I'm an architect, and i need for my work to draw a lot of trees. For that i used ".DWG" tree's format.The more i had some, the more illustrator slower is. I know there are a lot of trees, but i don't have similiar perfomance issues with other software. When i duplicate one, it takes almost ten second to duplicate it. It's HUGE !The .DWG file is 70Ko sizeCan someone help me plz ? :)Cheers !!PS : I already press ctrl+y (actual screenshot) to improve performance 

In the last few weeks, saving a file in Legacy Format (CS5) isn´t working properly.A Colleague of mine still uses CS5 and I often save files for him.Nowadays, files appear "corrupt" or "from a newer version", despite being simple designs, without any of the new features.Anyone else experiencing this? Any solves? Thank you

When I first read about free software, I got the idea they were stealing code from businesses, as well as borrowing it from each other. Is this the case with free open source software? This may be why it doesn’t work very well, as well as being unethical. I do not agree with the free software movement. It violates business law. Just because they are having trouble stopping it, does not mean that it is ethical. They are stealing code from businesses. I did not get at first, that the open source software was about that. I am thinking that it is, though. It doesn’t seem to work very well. I was going to use Inkscape, which is meant to replace Illustrator. It isn’t working, though. If they are stealing code from businesses, I am against it, on ethical grounds. It does violate business law. That does relate to money. So does copyright law. That is actually serious. It is code. Copyright law relates to money. It is the truth. Does anybody else agree?

using Scripting, I wonder if it is possible to create a panel / window within Adobe Illustrator to show a list of all scripts in a particular folder, so I can choose from and by clicking to start a script or two of them?   thanks in advance Nils

I have tried using Magic wand tool but that won’t work either.I have an 8 colour image which I have expanded and I’m trying to use select same fill colour but it is ignoring colours directly next to it and selecting different ones entirely. 

Hello,I created my own art work in Illustrator. Every time I want to continue to work on it, the Generative A I pops up, it is very annoying. I also noticed it does not come up on all art work. I would like to disable the pop up. Please help!

Hi, my name is William, I have issue when I tried to open Adobe Illustrator since 3 months ago. It's always not responding. Sometimes, it takes few times untill it opened. I tried to update to newest version (currently v30.0), but the problem is still exist. I have updated to newest MacOS Tahoe 26.0.1. I am using Macbook Pro M2 Max with 32 GB RAM. I have tried to reinstall, restart, and do a clean installation, but nothing works. I have no issues with other Adobe Product when opening application, only with Adobe Illustrator. I attatch screenshot of application below.Any suggestion would be appreciated. Thankyou so much.  

I want to sample the red stroke color from an object, but when I use the Eyedropper, it samples the blue color of the object’s bounding box instead.Instead of changing the stroke color to red, it changes the fill color to blue.

Hello,I have a simple star-like shape that I created by using two lines and making 2 offset settings on it. I want to know if it's possible for Illustrator to create a scalable shape from it. Like when you vectorise a path or an outline. (I know it's possible to create stars directly with the shape tool, I just wanted a simple shape to illustrate what I want to make). Thanks for any response !

Hi there, I am trying to see if there is a way to “link” the position for two objects. For example, let’s say I have one text that I can edit. I have another text which I want to place it certain pixel away from the previous text and I want to maintain that distance when the previous text is edited automatically.Let’s say i have one text box at location (10,10) with length of 5. The text should always be 15px to the right, and 2 pixels up, so in this case, it should be at location (10+5+15, 10 - 2) = (30, 8).Now, if the first text changes and the length increased to 10, and vertically moved down 13px, then the other textbox should automatically be readjusted to (10+10+15, 10 + 13 - 2) = (35, 21).I know I can manually update them, but I might have a lot of it and manually updating them could be tedious or prone to error or might have something more complex than just two texts.My question is that is there a way to “link” these objects’ positions such that if one changes, the other will a

I’ve been having issues with illustrator saving files recently. It will take it 10+ minutes to save a relatively simple file and then sometimes the same the file it saves immediately. It won’t let me do anything with the file while it is trying to save it. It just shows me the message “The Document ‘untitled’ is currently getting saved. Try again after the process is complete.” It completely hijacks the file from me while it takes forever to save.
