Questions

I was surprised to see that Illustrator cannot import Text of a path from an SVG file. I create maps with a program that generates svg files which I then import to Illustrator for final editing. I recently learned how to do Text on a pth in SVG but when I imported this into Illustrator the text became individual letters jumbled together away from the path. This is an important feature that needs to be included.

Can anyone suggest a Fix to have Adobe - Open & work with PDF's?I checked on "updates" and the App was just updated - and not working 

Hi all, I'm working on a project in Illustrator and when I export the file, the long shadow looks HORRIBLE. Does anyone have any fixes for this? I'm using the blend tool for this effect- it looks great in illustrator and passable in PDF, but any other image format destroys the appearance of the blend. 

While working at home this morning, Illustrator would keep invoking the Quit dialog (with no option to cancel) and would shut down on its own after a few seconds. The same thing just happened to me at the office. In both cases, I was using a Bluetooth keyboard. At home, when I switched to the laptop keyboard, Illustrator behaved as expected. Two different Macs, two different keyboards and multiple files. Any advice? Thank you. Illustrator 29.3.1 MacMacOS 15.3.1 (both machines)

Buongiorno a tutti, sul mio pc sono sparite le librerie locali, il pannello è funzionante e anche il sync con il cloud ma anche li non trovo nulla... l'unica cosa che è cambiata è il tipo di licenza ( da illustrator a full )... cambiando licenza si perdono le librerie?? mi sembra strano... non c'è modo dalla cartella app data di recuperarle?Grazie a tutti

Please help me with this error i continue to get while attempting to save my work in Illustrator CS3 "Acrobat PDF Format is having difficulties. The dimension of this page are out of range" The original artwork was massive so i figured it could have been because of the size. I scaled the artwork down by 70% but got the same message. I then created a new document which was A3 in size, I copied the artwork over to the new A3 doc in a single layer but the error still continues. I have never seen this kind of error before and i cannot work out how to solve the issue - I need to save this work! Please help

Hi everybody,I have a bunch of lines I'm trying to cut through. I've tried both Scissors and Knife. I don't want to individually slect each line to use Scissors, and Knife is sloppy. It doesn't have a Shift-slide option to cut a straight line (or I haven't figured it out).  So I'm like...can I just draw a box across this thing and pathfinder delete / punch it out or something? That's what I'd do in Photoshop. What's the best practice for something like this? This has to be a routine/easy thing to do. Thanks for reading everybody.

Hi, I'm getting the error message, "When spot colors are used with transparency, changing them to process colors outside of Illustrator can generate unexpected results." I'm working in a file that will be printed in large volume and needs to be right before sending to printer. How do I remedy this? I'm not entirely sure what a spot color is, so not really sure where to start. On a bit of a time crunch, so explanations (not links to articles) would be greatly appreciated.Thanks!

When opening the same Illustrator file on two PCs here, they have different WxH size when clicking on a particular element in the file!Both PCs have up to date illustrator installed through CCCan you let me know how this might be?? and how we could change things so that both PCs see all elements the same?I have included a screenshot with the 'problem' element selected, and the illustrator file 

Hello everyone, I have the following problem:I want to open a DWG exported from Inventor in Illustrator. Normally this works without any problems. But with some DWGs only the drawing area appears and nothing can be seen even when zooming out. When I select everything with Ctrl+A, the x/y coordinates show me that there is something at the value -5000. I enter the coordinates 0/0 and the drawing appears totally distorted and tiny in the corner. I export and import the DWG with the same settings as usual. Of course, I have already tested all export and import options, always with the same result. When I open the DWG in Inventor, it appears as normal. It is also displayed correctly in the preview in Explorer. I have the feeling that it is an import problem with Illustrator. At first I thought it might be due to the file size. However, Illustrator shows an imported file with 1416 KB and not one with 1330 KB. Can anyone help me? Has anyone else had a problem like this?&nb

Hi All,Something odd has happened to my properties panel that I've never seen before.  Yesterday when I was working in AI, it was working properly.  Today, when I click on an object, this is what it looks like:I've tried restarting AI and creative cloud, and I've tried checking to see if there are updates.  Nothing.Oddly though, when I switch modes from Essentials to say, Tracing, the Properties panel is back in action. I didn't fiddle with any settings from yesterday to today, and I always use essentials mode. Nothing has changed.  So, why is my properties panel blank and how do I get it to unblank?I need this fixed quickly as I'm on a deadline.Thanks!

Since the latest update, my files are dropping the stroke when from type that is on a curved path. The elements function as expected initially, but after the file is closed, and then reopened, the stroke drops on export. Doesn't matter which export method used, the result is the same. Happens with all fonts. (Apologies for the audio. I tried to include narration, but clearly failed. So, skip the first 20 secs.) I am using Illustrator 29.2.1 on an ASUS ROG laptop running Windows 11 pro. NOTE: I attempted to submit bug via UserVoice but it will not let me post there for some reason. 

Create Swatch Info seems to be a great new feature, but limited.I work in signage printing with HP Large Format Printers. Clients are always asking to match a colour. My question is how can I use the "Create Swatch Info" to print a Pantone Colour book?It has no option to make the book A4 or to fit a certain amount of swatches to a page

Hello, when i use pencil tool it automatically has no stroke. It's transparent. 

I have tried copying all the new artwork files and new files but it didn't work, and tried restarting my macbook but it's still the same...  

On my new Mac with M4 Max chip  running OS Sequoia 15.1 my Illustrator 3D files don't work. I have tons of memory. Even after updating to latest Illustrator version (29.3.1), restarting machine, etc, Doesn't work, get errors. Even if I make a new file, create a single square and try to extrude or any other 3D feature get error. I drop object into asset manager and try 3D & Materials, everything errors out. See screen shots. Please don't tell me to restart or update software. Thoughts?

Good afternoon everyone, I would like to present a situation:Has it not happened to you that when creating a PATTERN to use in a vectorized figure, you find out that the pattern needs to be able to rotate its appearance instead of just appearing 100% horizontally?And to adapt the pattern to a shape with a round appearance, the pattern needs to adopt a modification to “curve” it so that it can adapt better and have a more congruent aesthetic appearance?So the idea that I would propose for the Adobe community and hoping that it can be carried out for future features, is that these new functions can be integrated into the creation of patterns such as the “Create envelope / deformation options” and the “Transform panel” options so that they can be modified and better adapted to our creations.I appreciate your attention

So one year ago i got message about migration of files. I had contact and we decided i continue on operational console account. Now couple days ago my account membership got finished. And from student account i switched to normal account. Now my files are lost i put on the operational consoles surfsport account. How can i get them back? Thanks

Hello, I have been creating vector graphics for some time. I sometimes consider using this Generative Shape Fill in simple projects. What do copyright laws look like? In other words, I draw the shape manually and then fill it using this function. What does the sale of, for example, a poster with graphics used in this way look like?      

Apple's newly launched Vision Pro is a pretty exciting tool for content creation and design, and I was hoping that either Adobe would be there at launch with a number of native apps, or at least looking forward to installing and using iPadOS versions of apps on the new spatial computer. Unfortunately, it appears that Adobe has blocked Illustrator and Photoshop from being installed on Vision Pro.  Can you shed light on why the apps have been blocked, and when we can expect either compatibility with the iPadOS release or a native VisionOS version?

When updating yesterday from 29.3.0 to 29.3.1 Illustrator lost the handles in the text placeholder, e.g. the frame text has no scaling handles, nor the right side clickpoint for changing to pixeltext, but only corner points.Anybody else have the same issue, and maybe a solution? Min was to reinstall 29.3.0 for the moment. I had a routine earlier fro reporting beta issues but maybe that works only for installed beta releases... 

So I finally upgraded to Sonoma from Monterey, and I'm getting this warning when I open Illustrator that it is being launched in "Rosetta mode" and that I need to run it in "ARM native mode".  I don't know what any of this means. I don't use any third-party apps, but I might in the future for all I know. Is this basically just saying that eventually Ai will only run in ARM mode and that, if I want to use third-party apps, I'll also have to use the Rosetta emulator? It sounds like I just need to run in ARM mode and cross any Rosetta bridges when I come to them. If so, how do I go about running in ARM mode?

I tried to add multiple 3D materials in illustrator and now I can not open the 3D tab without illustrator freezing. It seems the upload was part way through so it never opened and now i can not get back to before the upload state. it seems to remain stuck half way through. Can anyone offer ideas
