Questions

For as long as I can remember, selecting multple files in the Links window and hiting relink causes illustrator to prompt you for a new file for each linked image slected. Now it only relinks one image, and disregards the rest of the selected files. This is a massive problem as I have templates with up to 50 artboards, which we change by linking new images. Doing it one by one is a massive waste of time.How do i get this functionality back?

What key can I use to cut an anchor point/ path when on direct selection tool?

Hi everyone, I often go out and take up to 300 photos of various things, and then collate them into a Powerpoint presentation, with 8 photos on each page, my watermark in the corner, and a caption at the bottom. When the images are in the hundreds, this can easily take hours and hours to finish a presentation. I have experimented with various softwares to find the fastest way and I have found cons to each, so I was hoping someone here might direct me to a better way of working? The main feature I am looking for is zoom to fill, as this would save a lot of time resizing images. I'm using the newest version of Illustrator, version 28.6, on my MacBook Pro with the following specs:MacBook Pro: Apple M1 Pro, 32 GB RAMmacOS: Monterey Version 12.5.1Issue:While working in Illustrator, the program rapidly and randomly zooms in or out without any input from me. This happens at various points during my design process, making it difficult to work efficiently.

How do I change the icon of an Illustrator file, when I save the file it appears with the icon of the original program but not with the icon of a saved Illustrator file, how do I fix it?

I work in a company where we constantly need to model projects for Heineken and its sub-brands. A few days ago, the brand updated its logo and I'm having problems. In Illustrator, I select the logo (vector) and remove the fill and add a black stroke and set a thickness for the stroke. After that, I select the logo and click on export selection (right mouse button, last option) and select .pdf and that's it. When I open the .pdf file, it's perfect! The problem is that when I import the .pdf into AutoCAD, the logo comes out broken and with my lines missing and with fill in some parts. Why do I do Illustrator > AutoCAD > Sketchup? When I export directly in .dwg and open it in Sketchup, the logo comes out with no details, all checkered, as if the number of segments was low.

Hi, Im trying to make a packaging visual using several teal hues, but when starting to color the panels, the teal setting projects a classic sky blue hue, not even close to teal or a cyan...is there something wrong with the settings that I can adjust to get the right color tomes for the project?Any suggestions are welcome, as soon as possible... 🙂Thanks!

Hallo,seit Februar 24 kann ich meine Dokumente in Illustrator nicht mehr öffnen. Alle Daten habe ich auf meinem Rechner gespeichert, nicht in einer Cloud. Trotzdem erhalte ich beim Versuch, die Daten in Illustrator zu öffnen, folgende Meldung: Der Vorgang kann nicht vollständig ausgeführt werden, weil ein unbekannter Fehler aufgetreten ist. (DFER) Hat jemand eine Ahnung, wie ich dieses Problem lösen könnte? In allen anderen Programmen der Creative Cloud kann ich meine Dokumente auch weiterhin öffnen, nur in Illustartor nicht.

Recently the ability to resize a text box in Adobe Illustrator has disappeared. I do not need to change the proportion and size of the text. I need to add more text to a text box and alter/resize the text box.  I've tried all the old tricks on the internet, but cannot find anything recent. Please help! I'm about to lose my mind over this change. This is why I do not like a web-based application that is updated all the time....things disappear with no warning or change locations with no bread crumb trail. Also don't like having to hit "E" to change things. Another feature that was changed overnight.

I select the text, choose "create outlines" and it doesn't work. What am I doing wrong? 

Hey Guys, I have terrible performance with Illustrator, it keeps freezing, crashing and just being slow.When I try on desktop which is 8 years old it runs smoothly, what could be wrong?

Why am I losing it after moving it once??

I'm trying to get high-quality exports of some illustrations I'm working on, but when I export it messes all the colors up. I've attached both a screenshot (shows accurate colors) and an exported jpg (absolutely wrong) for two separate files. Can anyone tell me what I might be doing wrong? I didn't change any color settings or mess with any export stuff, and it's just WRONG. It's driving me nuts and no one else seems to be having this problem.    

Hi everyone,I'm currently utilizing this script (https://github.com/tualo/tualo-datamatrix/blob/master/lib/datamatrix.js) in Illustrator.  I've however been tasked with transforming the output which is currently 0s and 1s into a scannable data matrix.  I'm able to take the output of datamatrix.js and format using excel to create a working barcode but can't come close to replicating this in Adobe Illustrator.I'd be fine if I could find a way to do an "if" this equals 0 then do white square else do black square.  Even doing a format to change font formatting for 0 to be white font, white background and 1 is black font, black background.  I've been trying to slice and dice this script and I'm definitely no expert when it comes to creating scripts in Adobe Illustrator.Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thx 😊

I want illustrator and photoshop to give me the option to choose my file dpi NOT ppi, how can i do that?

When creating a 3D object in Adobe Illustrator, the software closes when the 3D and Material panel is open.

I can't seem to see the option to enable the Welcome Screen for Illustrator 28.0 I need to be able to see the preset and the recent files but what I get is this screen 

I create in AI, then save.  Next, I save in pdf for use when I send to my printer.  However, recently, the pdf save comes back with a blank page.  My AI is cloud based 2024 version.  Please, can someone give me assistance?  This glitch just started in last month/

Hi This seems to be a problem I am having with a TAFE assessment at the moment. I have saved my illustrator poster to a pdf file and now I have to colour seperate the artwork. I follow similar steps to this and when I get to output mode compositions and seperations hot based come up but not In rip seperations which is the steps I need. I have not a clue what I am doing  and need help. I have obviously done something wrong or its my computer or software, I have all my programs updated so I am clueless right now. I am on an older computer windows 10, illustrator and adobe are up to date any suggestions would be great, I have even reinstalled my printer software to no avail. I did note when I went to output and put in print preset is custom, printer I selected post script file and where it says ppD my printer doesnt show for some reason just  device independant or other when I click on other it goes to the desktop for some reason.
