Questions

As far as I can tell, Ai graphs don't let you include thousand/comma separators in the data from which graphs are created, so you need to add them after. I can't find any automatic way to do this after the graph has been created. Here's a screen shot example, in case that's helpful. I want thousand/comma separators on the Y axis and the bar value markers. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

He estado trabajando en este proyecto durante mucho tiempo, el día de ayer lo guarde sin problema y hoy al intentar abrirlo me salta este mensaje, no es la primera vez que me ocurre, ya me he contactado para estas situaciones con Adobe por mail pero nunca recibí respuesta. El mensaje anuncia que se lee parcialmente pero no es cierto: no está nada de lo que estuve trabajando, solo una mesa de trabajo en blanco. En la vista previa se ve mi trabajo intacto y el archivo sigue pesando lo que pesaba con los elementos (+300mb) pero al abrirlo en Illustrator no existe

I own a Wrap/Large format print shop and Adobe Illustrator 2023 is ruining my workflow and sometimes flat out does not work.  All of the files I used to modify, save, and export in Adobe Illustrator 2022 now crash and give me a "operation cannot be completed because there isnt enough memory (ram)" error.  Sometimes if I even try to copy and paste a completely fresh blank artboard and it crashes on me.  I have 32 gb of ram. This wasn't a problem in 2022 but Adobe removed my access to it.  I have tried resetting all of my preferences and it only made things worse.  Ocassionally, it almosts saves, runs out of memory, and completely ruins my art work by saving it as black and white jumble.  I have pasted my System info below. Hello everyone,I'm trying to write a script that increases or decreases the width of strokes on shapes.for now, what I came up with (found mostly on the internet a while ago), works fine for most shapes, and it can recurse into containers like groups, read their stroke width, and increase it by a certain percentage.The problem remains with Live paint objects. I can't figure how to read their stroke width or how to change it. Any help would be appreciated!

I am creating this forest in Adobe Illustrator, and I would like to know if there is anything that can be improved.

When converting fonts to outlines in Ai(cs3) and then saving it as a pdf (high quality print) the letter "l" appears to be bold in pdf file. Does this affect my printwork? or is a blitch in the pdf viewer or else?. I've tried converting directly from illustrator and through distiller, both the same results. Anybody?

Every time I try to import a transparent PNG. The background pops up with lines or it looks glitchy anyway to help!!!! it works sometimes, but then it just comes back out of nowhere

There’s a problem with Illustrator 2025 — when I scale objects up or down, the strokes and effects also change, but not proportionally. I checked the Preferences, and “Scale Strokes & Effects” is turned on, but it still scales everything in a very strange way.

Getting this pop-up everytime I open Adobe Illustrator 2025 v 29.1 on Win 11 PC: "To work correctly, Adobe Illustrator requires the Preferences folder permission to be 'Read-Write'. The current permission setting is incorrectly set to 'Read-Only'. Click More Info for instructions on correcting  the Preferences folder permission setting."I followed this kb: https://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/multi/preferences-folder-read-only-error.html#Adobe support agent also connected and did a clean install to no avail. Are other having this issue in Windows 11 Pro?

Screenshot colours change appearance when saving as PDF, but spot colours don't.When I screen shot an image and paste it into Illustratrator the colour is matching the original.I can use my colour picker tool to exstract that colour and fill my vector object.The problem comes in when I save the document as a PDF file, close and open up. It is then when the screen shot colour change. But the vector colour is still the original colour.I have checked 3 other exact same Macbook laptops, with the exact same settings and ALL colour profiles.All the other Macs seem to be have no issue. Only mine change.We are all running on the exact same Macbooks and versions of Illustrator.Note that if I change the document colour mode to RGB from the beginning to end of this process. The colours do not change. Unfortunately we work in CMYK mode.

Hello! I have been having an issue with Illustrator in which every time I launch the app it opens to the home page, but then immediately freezes and stops responding, and I have to use the Task Manager to close it. I have tried restarting my computer, uninstalling and reinstalling creative cloud, using the Adobe Cleaner, uninstalling and reinstalling Illustrator, ensuring that Illustrator is updated, resetting my preferences, trying an earlier release, and updating my drivers. After I tried the Adobe Cleaning it worked once, but after closing it and trying again this the issue came back. Same thing when I updated the drivers, it worked fine once but then started not responding again. Does anyone know what may be wrong?

Adobe Illustrator 2025 is demolishing my memory and I can't figure out why. I have a fairly new macbook pro (M3 Pro). I've also recently updated to macOS Sequoia 15.1.1. I typically work off of files on my desktop. I am currently working in a single file that only has a few small artboards and it takes a long time to perform any action, even type a letter on to the screen. My macActivity Monitor shows that AI '25 is taking up 4.23 GB. I had been using Illsutrator 2024 with no isssues up until a week or 2 ago. I used to be able to have many large files open at once w/ no issues and now all of a sudden I can barely work out of 1 small file.This is drastically affecting my work performance. Please help??

hello Adobe,While scripting, I oftentimes want to know what is the currently active tool, so that I change what my hotkeys do based on that.For example, if I have the paint brush or the blob brush tools selected, then I want [ and ] (or other hotkeys) to change the brush size, but if I have other tools selected, then I want them to increase/decrease the width of currently-selected shapes. Another example would be to switch to the zoom tool using any given hotkey as long as it's held, and then go back to the tool that was currently selected, or we can use that to "spring-load" tools...Just having "app.currentTool" (just like photoshop), even the tool name without any of its parameters, would open up a whole new world of possibilities for scripting, especially that now we have app.selectTool() . Exposing the tool functions within "app.currentTool" would elevate Illustrator a whole new level, but baby-steps, I guess. I'm not asking for much, am I?Currently, I keep on tracking what tool is

Does anyone know why I am missing parts of my design once i try to put them close together? 

The recent update to Adobe Illustrator has an annoying issue. It has to do with text / fonts in a document. If I change the font to a set of text, but then attempt to change some of the text, it reverts the new text to the previous font that I initially started with. I have nearly 30 years of experience using Adobe Illustrator so this isn't a user error issue. This happens each time I update text in any document I'm working with, since the most recent update.

Seit der neuen Version wird bei mir die Schriftfamilie in der Steuerleiste hinter dem Arbeitsbereich Fenster angezeigt, somit ist keine Schriftart auszuwählen möglich. Alles andere funktioniert richtig.Wenn ich mein Fenster oben anhefte, sodass Tabs entstehen, dann funktioniert es richtig.

Hi There, the title says it all. We need an option that auto-places imported images into a bounding box that can be cropped by dragging handles, and offer frame and corner options with no extra work - just copy the way InDesign does it. Currently, you have to use clipping masks, or that silly crop tool which resets the crop everytime you use it. Both are convolute and cumbersome workarounds for something as common and basic as cropping images (especially in 2025). Hope that makes sense. Cheers, Ben

Hi everyone, i work in France and I. thought i could use an english illustrator version with an azerty keyboard. But it got tricky as i realised it would not match my azerty keyboard automatically. Is there a way  to indicate to my english illustrator version (somewhere in the pref. ? but i couldn't find it) to switch to AZERTY keyboard instead of QUERTY ? (NB. Azerty, only for some softwares, not for the entire system)It's a bit of a mystery, because, for instance command + A (correspondance on a querty keyboard = command + Q) or command + W (correspondance on a querty keyboard = command + Z) are working fine. On the other hand, for example i created a personnalised shortcut with a ")" - in the EDIT/personnalised KEYBOARD SHORTCUTS section it shows the shortcuts with the ")" sign (azerty) BUT on the illustrator OBJECT/ARRANGE menu. It shows a"0" instead of a ")" (as on a QUERTY keyboard).I wish to continue working in english wich should be so much easier, but i would like it to m
