Hi forum. Im trying to achieve the D shape with shows the lines going around the elipse, but each time Im getting a different result doing the same exactly technique. I make two lines, then use the blend tool, specify the desired amount of lines, then choose the elipse and lines and do replace spine. Each time I have to click on the path orientation until I get the D result. What am I doing wrong? Thank you.

so it may be my memory is faulty but I remember being able to set it so each artboard in a document had a distinct ruler which in my mind would be artboard vs global rulers.  From reading the documentation artboard rulers are supposed to be the default and the option is greyed out in my view menu so I am assuming that artboard rulers are enabled but....  I just see the global ruler.  If I move the point of origin with one artboard active the point of origin is still shifted when I switch back to the other artboard.  What I want to do is be able to set it so each separate artboard has a ruler with its own independent point of origin.  I often make sets of graphics all in one ie 1080px x 1080px for Instagram and 800px X 600px for the blog post image and sometimes a google my business post image size too.  Is mine not working or it how I think this is supposed to work wrong?Thanks in advance,Leslie

Illustrator latest update - Illustrator no longer saves a Single File PDF in the "export for screen" function. I select "all artboards" and "single file". Each time i get multiple pdf files from this action instead of a single file. 

So, I am just trying to save a file and instead of saving a single AI file, it is saving the artboards as multiple files. It is unselected as an option in the second dialogue box.  In the first dialogue box that specifies location, I also see an option but it is greyed out and checked. I am totally stumped.

Every time I type the dimensions I want to use for my new document, the values constantly reset to default as I'm typing. Every time there's an update, my shortcuts get reset to default. At work, my colors degrade over time in my working file becoming less saturated. So many other issues. None of those issues exist in Figma, where I'll be taking my patronage. In the next few months I'll be done using Adobe for good. I've used it for the past 20 years, and never have I experienced as many bugs and failure to fix bugs as I have in the past two years. That along with the constant push of AI and using our data to train it has shown that Adobe is more about profits than it is making a good user experience. 

When I create a new project in Illustrator and I want to create a logo, what type of file and presets are best to use? I just want to start designing the logo, which will eventually be used for web and print.

SpanishHola Buenas a todos el tro dia estaba tranajando en Illustrector CC 2018 y cuando fui a abrir el archivo que estaba trabajndo me aparecio esto (Anexo Fotografia) y la verdad como no sabia que hacer le di OK y se me cargo una Mesa de trabajo totalmente en blanco en resultados lo perdi todo.Si ven en la fotografia aparece algo de importacion de texto y lo raro es que en el archivo dentro de las mesas de trabajo no hay ni un texto ya que mi trabajo es solo una ilustracion de una persona no tiene texto.Lo raro es que estado guarduando en cada momento y solo he trabajado en mi computador.Si alguin sabe de comi recuperar mi trabajo se lo agradezeria mucho.Muchas Gracias

Hi everyone! It appears that I can't get the actual app for the Illustrator so I have to keep using the web-ased app one. But everytime I use the pen to draw for more than 2 minutes, the site reloads. Does anyone have a fix for this issue? Thanks in advance.

I am having trouble finding the problem to why the first line of this text box is filling with corrupt characters.Is there any suggestions on what to do to fix this without changing the size of the text box, kerning, or leading?

I honestly can't stand this anymore. I can't work like this. Paying more and more money every year so softwares could get worse and worse. InDesign has been in shambles for quite some time. But in the last few months, Illustrator keeps crashing AS SOON AS I OPEN IT! This makes no sense.  It is insane that a few years ago Adobe was working so much better and smoother.LEAVE THE AI ALONE AND WORK ON YOUR BASIC FEATURES. IT IS NOT PROGRESS IF EVERYTHING KEEPS GETTING WORSE. I understand bugs can happen, but this hasn't been fixed in a few updates already.  Sorry for the tone, I am pissed. In Illustrator 28.5 and above an SVG export longer is emitting the data-name attribute. It contained an exact copy of the text in the corresponding layer name. The file ID43_V1.1.i.28.4.1.svg saved by Illustrator 28.4.1 and the file ID43_V1.1.i 28.6.svg  was saved by Illustrator 28.6.Line 54 in ID43_V1.1.i.28.4.1.svg has the line:<rect id="center_top_leading:_235_pt" data-name="center, top, leading: 235 pt" class="cls-3" x="21.4361" y="1196.6758" width="1691.3774" height="217.0928"/>.If you open the AI file ID43_V1.1.ai you will see a layer with the name: center, top, leading: 235 pt. The corresponding line in the file ID43_V1.1.i 28.6.svg on line 31 looks like:<rect id="center_x2C__top_x2C__leading:_235_pt_00000142166334487451118750000006251493092934391439_" x="21.4361" y="1196.6758" style="&st5;" width="1691.3773" height="217.0928"/>This illustrates (pun intended) the difference between the different versions of Illustrator

Importing SVGs from Flourish into Illustrator generates many nested groups and clipping masks I don’t need. I must manually clean everything to keep editable paths and text only. Second need: for bar charts, I want to automatically convert each rectangle into a single centered stroke so I can animate thickness in After Effects (Trim Paths). I currently do this bar-by-bar, which is too time-consuming across 20–50 charts. I’m looking for a one-click (or batch) solution to (1) flatten SVGs on import without extra groups/masks, and (2) convert rectangles → centered stroke ready for AE animation. An explanatory video is attached to this ticket to show the issue and the desired outcome.vidéo explanatory and desired results 

Would it be possible in the “ARTBOARD” window to:- sort (temporarily, without changing the order set for printing) the plans alphabetically to easily find an ARTBOARD- have a search field for ARTBOARD names to filter- be able to search and replace in ARTBOARD names

Mi computadora se apagó y cuando la volví a encender mi archivo Illustrator ya no abre.  Me aparece esta ventana al intentar abrirla No puedo encontrar ningún backup en la carpeta donde se supone se guardan los backups o autosaves. Hello -I was wondering, in Illustrator,when a drawing is made up of “solid” shapes like the illustration below, is there an easy way (in other words, is there a function) to convert the solid shapes into paths/outlines (so that I can easily play around with the thickness of the outline)?If not, is there a way to script this with JavaScript?Thank you.    - Dimitri

my work- printing designs for large print sizes like billboards, booth designs, web design, video editing, after effects bit of 3D, want to future proof for atleast 6 yearspurpose of getting mac- portability, better workflow, industry integration, designright now I am super confused between two configurations in max chip I am leaning towards a 14 inch max with 36 gb ram but somewhere I am thinking that this amount of ram will lag in the future and affect my professional workflow, like 4k video exports, 3d renders or adding effects to big size illustrator files (somethings I face issue in my current windows laptop with 16gb ram and rtx 4070 laptop), then getting a 48gb ram in 14 inch what the apple salesperson advised me to avoid due to heating issues he suggested 16 inches for this configurationnow with 16 inches my portability will suffer and a 48gb ram is way over my budget to affordlooking for cases where you face problems with 14 inch macbook pro max so I can make an informed choic

Hi !Is there a shortcut similar to the one in C4D that allows you to quickly find the layer associated with a path ?

I couldn't open Illustrator Beta v28.0, it said it was damaged, and now the app has disappeared from my creative cloud. How can I resolve this? 

I accidentally clicked on the "View Outlines" voice in the View menu. I am not sure about the name of the voice since the language preference on my software is set on italian. Everything beside the page I am working on is now white and I can't seem to find the same voice or one that says how to hide the outlines in the View menu.. does anyone know how to turn them off?
