Questions

Is there a way to cycle through the fonts for a selected text? Or do you have to manually go up in Type/Fonts and select a new font, over and over again?Also, do I have a problem with my mouse or is it impossible to scroll through the fonts using the mouse wheel? I have to use the arrow keys at the top or bottom of the Text menu, and when the thing finally moves it does so in super slow motion. Alternatively, is it possible to open a window showing all installed fonts at once so you don't have to scroll?Thank you.

Hi there! Hope someone can help. I am working on illustrator and am noticing that after a while (it varies), every time I am in Isolated Group mode, it freezes. Seems like I could keep working but all objects remain the same... So I have to save, exit and restart..  Dunno how to fix this. Anyone? I appreciate your help!

In Illustrator, is there a way to change what number a numbered list starts with? I'd seen a post elsewhere in the forums to look under the settings for bullets/numbers, but when I followed it to the same place in Illustrator, there didn't seem to be an option to change the list start number. I'm working on a file for a client who wants to stay in Illustrator, so I'm hoping to not shift out to a different program if possible. 

Hey folksI have a user whose Adobe Illustrator crashes everytime she tries to convert a .PDF to a .JPG. We've tried reinstalling the software, to no avail. So far we've been able to do a work-around as she's now exporting to .PNG.I've took the liberty to export a .dmp file as well as a logfile from Windows Event Viewer (However this doesn't really show much)Hoping someone else has had a similar issue and found a way to fix it.Doesn't look like there's a way to attach files, so i zipped it and put it on uploadfiles.io: https://ufile.io/6tmr7

I've been using my Samsung S7+ tablet and I heard that adobe has a mobile version. My girlfriend is autistic and ONLY uses Samsung. This is a problem because apparently Adobe has no app for her to use. I'm looking for anyone to explain how to install illustrator or any of the other apps not found on Google play on her S7+ tablet or if Adobe will finally place these in Google play and end the discrimination it creates by to making all apps equally accessible.     {Renamed by MOD}

I am led to believe the official latest version of Illustrator is 29.8.1 (released August 2025). Somehow I have 29.8.2 Is anyone able to confirm either issue?

I’m experiencing an issue with Adobe Illustrator where I cannot copy anything. Both Ctrl+C and right-click > Copy cause the software to crash immediately. This has been happening repeatedly throughout the day. Could you please advise on the cause and any possible solution? It’s really frustrating that Illustrator can’t handle such a basic function like copying without crashing.

I have had AI for many years now, but suddenly this morning I get this message when trying to open-up AI, which I need for my business. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling. I have tried system restore. Nothing. Please help. 

Hi, I am having issues printing one of my custome sized pages for printing greeting cards, in Illustrator. I have 2 custom page sizes, 140 x 280 mm and 175 x 125 mm, the 140 x 280 mm doesn't print out correctly at all but the 125 x 175 one does? I just upodated my imac to tahoe not sure if its related or not?

I've encountered a rendering issue starting in Illustrator 29.6.0, and it's still present in 29.6.1. Here's how to reproduce it: Create a simple circle.Create a simple rectangle.Place the circle inside the rectangle using a clipping mask.Apply any transparency to the circle (e.g., set opacity < 100%, or add a drop shadow). Result:The rendering becomes corrupted for any object positioned beneath the clipping mask (try placing a filled shape underneath to see the issue clearly). Additional Notes:The issue only appears in GPU Preview.Switching to CPU Preview restores correct rendering.Changing the color profile or color model did not resolve the issue.Deleting Illustrator's preferences folder also had no effect.Rolling back to Illustrator 29.5 resolves the issue.Screenshot attached. System:iMac Retina 5K (27", 2017)macOS Ventura 13.7.6 Upvote BugKindly upvote this UserVoice (https://adobe.ly/3GG0k5l)

Hi everyone, since the last update, my hyperlinks have stopped working or showing up in the saved PDF. I have been making edits to a series of posters, and I have not changed anything. They worked all along, until the update. Now, the only thing that is hyperlinked is the email address, which the program did automatically. My URLs are correct, and I am choosing to preserve hyperlinks when I save the PDF. It just worked, until it didn't with the update. Any advice? I would hate to open each poster in Acrobat and create hyperlinks there with each edit update I send to the client. Thanks

Alguém poderia me ajudar?Estava usando o illustrator normalmente e ele travou, simplesmente não conseguia nem fechar ele, tive que forçar o encerramento dele (utilizo um MacBook Air).Já tentei de tudo: desinstalei todos os programas da Adobe, instalei novamente, atualizei o software do computador, reiniciei diversas vezes, mas toda vez que abro o programa ele tranca em uma tela cinza, e não é possível nem fechar ele, somente forçando o encerramento. Me ajudem!!!! Preciso do programa para trabalhar. Obs. Os outros programas estão abrindo normalmente, isso está acontecendo somente com o illustrator 

I was in the process of making a vector, and left the app, however after coming back, it reverted my version to a older one. I was trying to find it in archive and the deleted files, however, it is lost. I am using iOS version.

Eversince I updated Illustrator to vesion 29.8.2, my files are completely failing to open. I just get the loading wheel and nothing happens for a long time. When I right click on the Illustrator icon in my dock while I am waiting for the file to open, I get a message saying "Application nortresponsing". I have to force quite, restart my computer and then retry opening the file for it to actually respond. This is happening for every Ai file. A collegue of mine is having the same issue after updating and my Mac is fully up to date as of sending this message so the issue is Illustrator

I am trying to link in a CAD drawing. Neither DWG nor DXF are supported on my end. I have seen conflicting information online and wish to clarify if this is possible or not.Thanks.

Hello,I am trying to import a CAD drawing at the "drawn" scale. Here are the settings my file is using to export:Scale = 1:4500 (same scale as Illustrator document)Drawing units = centimeters  So far I have not identified the correct combination of settings to bring this in at the correct scale.I am trying to import at 100% with 1 unit = 1cm, but the drawing is huge.Can anybody please offer a suggestion for how to do this?Thanks! 

A Google search will bring up many extensions with half-baked instructions on how to use them. What is the definitive extension for running illustrator scripts in VS Code? And where can I get full instructions on setting up and using it?

Hi there, title says it all. You can save artboards as separate files and drag those into a Library, but you can’t drag from a Library to create a new artboard (at least not for me) - probably because it’s stored as a file, and not an artboard? I’ve got lots of web and social ad sizes I need quick access to, which seems like a use-case for Libraries. Anyone know how to get drag and drop fiunctionality between Libraries and Artboards? Cheers, Ben

I am having the most annoying issue of my life.When using Illustrator the right click does not work when hovering over layers or items in the layer tab. I have tried:- resetting preferences- uninstalling illustrator and re-installing- swapping from application bar to frame vice versa.-updating softwares including IOS I also have tried disconnecting monitors and doing it on the desktop solo, same problem.  Nothing works.... I feel handicapped and super close to going back to Affinity where none of these problems happened... How can such an expensive piece of software have such a stupid bug... So here is my issue.When I open a file, even an empty brand-new file, I can not make a pattern at all. I opened up a fresh file, yes, with every other file closed except that one, and tried to make a basic rectangle shape pattern, but it crashes once I hit the "DONE" option. I have no idea why this won't work at all for me and crashes the whole application. I work on a laptop that has about 16 GB of RAM, and again, it doesn't work even with everything closed. What can and should I do?Thank you.

Hi There, When a layer is locked, 90% of the time I want Illustrator to ignore that layer - like never auto-select a locked layer, or never attempt to paste into a locked layer. Is this possible? Basically, Illustrator seems to force constant interaction with locked layers which is a huge time waster when you just have a template, safe area, or some other reference on top, and you art underneath. Hope that makes sense. I recently had an issue with uploading Illustrator files to an online contract printer.  The issue is elements that were deleted prior to saving (not simply hidden) are showing up in the file once uploaded.  Or on one, I re-sized an image from 11.5" to 9".  Once uploaded, the file showed two images on top of one another, a large file and a smaller file of the same image.  Is this a strange bug with the history tool?  The only work around has been to place the final image on a new canvas and then save as a new file.  Never had this happen before and I've used this contractor for quite a while now.  These files all were saved in the last week.
