Questions

I want to know what is causing the following issue in InDesign.  I apply a paragraph style (with no Minion Pro reference) to an article, text or complete document.As you can see in (image 1) i applied the paragraph style 'brood' and in the left top corner you can see that the selected text is 'TheSansB' font. When i put a blinking cursor at the end of a sentence and give a return for a blank line, then suddenly the deafault Minion Pro appears as the default font (image 2). As the cursor is blinking it still says that font is 'TheSans'. I checked all my styles, styles override etc.. but the Minion Pro is nowwhere to be found.Even when i have nothing selected dan my default font is 'TheSans'. When processing large text for a book or magazine its very annoying ans unthrustworthy. Does anyone know why this is happening?

Hi, when i publish indesign document, the button has this issue (pic). I tried to upload the button by copying directly from illustrator (ctrlc-ctrlv), then i tried uploading a png - still it does this. Can anyone help? It's driving me crazy. Yesterday more pictures had lines over them, all got fixed by reuploading. I'm afraid that at any given moment I will have to reupload everything again. 

One of our users is having issues exporting PDFs from InDesign. Apparently everyone else can export the PDF just fine but she is unable to, copying the PDF settings from another user who was working and trying it on hers still failed to export. I can export a few pages at once until it fails but the user doesn't want to delete any images because it's working on the other PCs. They are using Sharepoint and OneDrive sync to access the files and all the images. She has permission to all the folders that the other users has. The file path for each item I believe is different because it goes through C\Users\*user*\One Drive ...This did affect the links but even after removing the links that errored, it was still unable to export. I've uninstalled and re-installed InDesign but I don't use InDesign enough to have good troubleshooting skills. I can't even find any log files to see whats going wrong, it just fails with no useful errors. I created a blank document a

I've lost the ability to select colors in the swatch pallette. Is anyone else have the same problem? 

Can I place a file that I have saved in Cloud documents into Indesign?What is the benefits in saving in Cloud documents actually?

Working on a project in ID and have been asked if there is a way to have scrollable text on the final PDF file. From all I am seeing the answer is no but thought I would reach out and ask. Thanks!

Experincing an issue with InDesign crashing when trying to use the spellcheck feature. Computer is a MacBook Pro running MacOS 15.1 What we have already tried:  Removed Indesign plist preferences from the library removed adobefnt.lst filesuninstalled/reinstalled InDesign and Adobe CC applications.  It appears to crash at the same spot on the document. Looking for any other troubleshooting steps outside of the basic ones we have already tried. 

I've been having a few issues with exported PDFs from In Design in the last few weeks.The errors only occur when the recipient tries to open the file when sent over email. I switched email clients and even bought a new computer - thinking one of these factors was the issue but I was wrong. Issues:- When an exported InDesign document is exported to PDF emailed, the recipient gets an error that the file is corrupted. When i upload the file to We Transfer, it opens without issue.- When I email a PDF exported from Indesign to a client which contains images, on some occasions some of the images drop out/disappear. However, the photos appear as they should in the file i sent My InDesign and Adobe apps are both up to date. Google doesnt seem to have a solution, so i am seeking some help for this bug.

I needed a clean font and purchased a 1-license from font.com for the Monotype library. Then was prompted to include FontExplorer X Pro 6x. I cannot get my new fonts to load or replace in an InDesign document. Of course it's due at the printer. I keep coming across "clean out my font cache" but no idea how to do that. What is the best way to start with Font Explorer? I've checked the boxes to activate but not yet happened.

Hi People, Since InDesign 17.1, I've found that what I open up the colour panel under Appearance to change the colout of text, the top of the panel disappears off screen like below.As a result, I am unable to select the text fill icon to set a colour for the text.If I pull the InDesign window down, I can see the whole panel: I'm unable to drag the panel lower in the screen.I note that the same behaviour doesn't happen with rectangle or similar fills.Can this be fixed please as its downright annoying.Andrew 

Has anyone else had the experience of InDesign changing document sizes to match the default size on a home printer? It's taken me too long today to work out why my document size kept changing from A6 to A4 when I exported it to PDF, even when I exported it as a JPG file. Getting InDesign to forget my printer seems to have fixed this bug, but maybe it was just good 'ole magic. Any clues InDesign gurus?

Hi all,I have exported my document, in the EPUB it looks fine and works well.  The buttons with the page titles are just to display interactivity and not go anywhere, however when looking at the PDF, there is constant flickering and not displaying with a block of white and black text on hover, then revert to normal off hover... any help would be great, not really sure how to fix (I know its janky). Very simple, with normal text is white, when rolled over the white box shows and changes the text to black. Thanks!

Hi there, My indesign file has just corrupted with error code 6 and now It will not open again.This assignment is due tomorrow and it is 50 hours of work. Hey! Just checking in to see if anyone else experiences this problem: When I go to create a new document in InDesign, the Dialog Box will reset itself after a few seconds as I'm trying to set parameters (page size, margins, units, etc...) It's not a bug that prevents me from using the software altogether, but it's pretty annoying starting to get everything set and then it all just reverts back to what it was. It happens everytime I try to create a new file, usually just once, but sometimes twice. I've experienced it through multiple updates now. I have a screen recording of it if it helps. Thanks!

Hey folks, When I export these files, they often have weird lines on them the first time I export them. The second time - they're fine. I can't put my finger on what is going on. Here are the images:Lines examples  No lines examples Here are my settings:Transparency blend mode: RGBQuality: Maximum or High (doesn't seem to make a difference)Resolution: 300 ppiColour space: RGBChecked: transparent backgroundChecked: Anti-alias (is it this??)  On Windows 10, Indesign v 15.1.2 (I'll update soon, but this has happened across multiple verisons). Let me know if you need any more info! We would like to import structured data from a website to a print document. (artactuel.lu)The developers could export the content the way me (graphic designer) an InDesign need it.These 2 screenshots show the existing print document and a table I created to show the data structure.I would at first like to know if this is possible. Any more detailed suggestions are welcome.(sorry for may bad english)

I am using InDesign 2025 and am experiencing a new problem that didnt exist with prior software versions. I am working off a Dell Windows PC.I cannot move or resize text boxes, graphics frames etc using my mouse. I can only move them with arrow keys. This was never a problem before. Here is what I have tried:1. rebooted computer2. Made sure InDesign was at latest rev (20.0.1)3. Tried other existing documents and new documents. Nothing worked4. Tried turning off (snap to) guides and grids functions5. I am not working from Master Pages and my layers and objects are not locked6. I trashed my preferences on application startup (CTRL, Shift, Alt)7. I even reviewed and deleted some Google Chrome extensions (not sure why that would have anything to do with it but tried that as well. This used to work with same Google extensions, havent loaded any new ones) Any other ideas????

Anyone have an idea what these gray, cyan and magenta brackets are around this text? They do not hide when text invisibles are hidden.They do, however, disappear when in Preview mode.I thought maybe they had something to do with tracking changes or something interactive, but that doesn't seem to be the case.

Hi, I am creating an interactive pdf of a price ticket in head office (in InDesign) and sending to 8 stores so the sales staff can create their own price tickets. This part is fairly straightforward, however, we are now looking at changing the styling and the pound sign (£) and the .99p are a smaller font size than the main digits (see screenshot). Is there a way I can create those two elements as anchored objects and paste them into the price field so they will always centre regardless of the price i.e £99.99 or £1299.99? I've attached a screenshot showing what I am trying to do. I can create here using InDesign scripts from a .csv but I don't have the time to create all these and I certainly don't want stores emailing me every two minutes. Thanks.

I am writing a UXP script that grabs INDD files in bulk and makes some changes in the file and saves off the file to a different file location. I do not want to impact the original file. Instead, I want to save it as a new file in a new location. Does anyone know if this is possible in UXP scripting? I know you can export to PDF, which I have done before. I am hoping to create a dynamic table using TableStart:LineItems and TableEnd:LineItems in Adobe InDesign. I'm wanting to know if this is somehow possible or if InDesign only makes static tables?

Hello all,I'm trying to add the Bible Reference to auto-update in my page header. I understand that <Chapter Number> works for books, but that's not a good option for me.I have things working except for one problem: The Chapter Number options are <first occurrence> or <last occurrence>. The problem is when the first occurance is in the midle of the page, but I need the previous number. See attached:  You'll see "Rom 5:20" in the top, but it should be "Rom 4:20". For now I have to manually go back and fix these pages but would be nice to figure this out.I get my <Chapter Number> from using Text Variables, and the same for <Verse Number>.  For this to work I applied a character style to the chapter numbers manually (applying through GREP wasn't recognized by Text Variables), but the verse numbers the character style was applied upon RTF import.  One problem may be where the chapter _starts_ on the top of the page.This is not holding
