Bonjour,Je suis face à problème, que je n'arrive pas à solutionner.J'ai créé un sommaire par chapitre. Chaque titre du sommaire vient des entêtes de pages réalisées sur mon gabarit.Les données sont traitées directement avec easycatalog. En réalisant la table des matières, j'ai des répétitions car il reprend les entêtes de chaque page. Comment dois-je m'y prendre pour qu'il ne garde que la première de chaque section de chapitre ?Merci d'avance pour votre aide. 

I ran into a problem yesterday with placed images in my document not showing up properly when I exported the file to PDF. It was only some of the pictures, not all of them. At first I thought that there was something wrong with the original image files, so I re-saved them and even went so far as to delete the placed images and place them again. I reset the preferences. Nothing worked.Until now. I’m posting this in case anyone else runs into this problem. It turns out that the fill color of the rectangle behind the placed images had been accidentally set to spot color. Deleting that swatch and replacing it with a regular color swatch fixed everything. Hope this helps. 

I’ve recently upgraded from CS5.5 to CC 2025. I’ve noticed an unusual behaviour when I have multiple objects selected. If I click on one of the objects in the group, a thick blue line appears around it.  I’m not sure of the purpose of this, or how it is used? 

Hello everyone,I’ve recently started using InDesign CC 2025 (Debug build) for plugin development. While debugging, InDesign frequently stops execution in Xcode with errors like:Thread 1: EXC_BREAKPOINT (code=EXC_I386_BPT, subcode=0x0) If I click Continue, the application usually resumes and works as expected, so it appears these are handled internally and not fatal crashes.I also see similar behavior where execution stops on assert-related lines inside the InDesign SDK code.My questions are: Is there any recommended setting in Xcode to prevent breaking on these handled breakpoints while debugging InDesign? Is there a way to ignore or disable SDK/internal assert breaks, similar to ignoring Objective-C exceptions? Environment: Xcode: 15.2 macOS: 13.x InDesign SDK: CC 2025 InDesign: Debug version Any guidance on best practices for debugging plugins with the Debug build of InDesign—especially regarding breakpoints and asserts—would be greatly appreciated.Thank you.

Constrain proportions for width and height in InDesign 2025 (20.0) is broken. In previous versions of InDesign the constrain-status would stay the way you selected always, now you have to link it every time you scale something, it's quite annoying and adds an extra step to workflow.   <Title renamed by MOD>  

Leading between paragraph styles is not consistent. The larger (incorrect) space only happened around 5 times in 100+ page doc. No rogue formatting on styles. Seems to fix itself when i create a orphan. 

Hello everyone, I've upgrade to Indesign CC 2018 (13.1.0.76) from CC 2017 and now everytime I want to save a document (new or existing)  the same error message appears."Cannot save the document. It may be opened by other aplications. Close applications and try again. You may also use Save As to save it into a new document."   The Save As option works fine, but for my worklow this is unacceptable. When I work localy, the problem doesn't present itself only when I want to work from a company server. I have permission to read and write on the server. I have no idea what the problem is.   Before updating everything worked fine in the 2017 version.   I know there already exist a topic about the same issue, but it was never solved and its already a few years old. So i thought I open up a new one.   Does anyone have a solution??<Title renamed by MOD>

There are 2 ways to generate a vcard/QR code in Indesign, 1. Method 1 Type: Business Card 2. Method 2 Type: Plain Text with code: BEGIN:VCARDVERSION:3.0FN:First LastN:Last;First;END:VCARD   Here's what I have observed: Androids can read Method 1 QR code without issue Most Androids cannot read Method 2 QR code If text code from Indesign's Method 2 is used in other QR code utility, then Androids can read QR code. It seems as though something is happening in the QR code generation process. You can use Method 2 in a data merge workflow, and is the reason that I would like to continue using this method. I have tried various versions of Indesign. I have tried versions 2.1, 3.0, 4.0 of vcard.   Is there anything else to try in using Method 2 and have QR code read by Android?

Hello,the problem isI need to print a book page, where the height of the text must be 17,5 cm and the width 11,5 cm. The space between the text on two pages (when a book is open) must be 3 cm. The margins up, down and on the sides must be 2cm. When I set the text/width in the setups, everything seems ok. But then I convert file into PDF and print it. On the paper the parameters are changed, like now it is 10,5x16 cm, and the space between the text frames on two pages is 4 cm. What is wrong and how can I fix it?

Title.  I’m designing business cards where the names are in all caps, however I’d like to have a GREP style that, for example, searches the name “MCDONALD” and shrinks just the C.  Is that possible?

Recently (not linked to an update) I cannot save new or already existing InDesign files. When trying to save a file I have been working on I get the message that the file is damaged (error code 2). When using Save As, I get the message that InDesign cannot perform the requested operation. Usually InDesign crashes after this. When I restart InDesign, I do get a recovered file (so automated backups are made), I can then save the recovered file without problems, but when editing and working on it, trying to save it again results in the same problem and messages as mentioned aboveOcassionally, I can save a file, but a next time the errors occur againI have done the things mentioned on the internet- Reinstalled InDesign- Cleared the cash- Removed my personal workspace an rebuild thatI am working locally on my hard drive, but this drive is linked to OneDrive. I also tried pausing the synchronisation with OneDrive, but that made no difference either.Nothing seems to help and I am getting quit

After installing the ROBOTO fonts, I received an error message from Creative Cloud and then all Roboto fonts generated errors. Now when I open any Indesign file, all Roboto fonts are not recognized.

Hello,I’m working with Adobe InDesign 2026 on macOS and need proper hyphenation for Serbian Cyrillic.In earlier InDesign versions it was possible to add custom Hunspell dictionaries (.aff/.dic) via the Presets/Dictionaries folders, which would then appear in the Language menu and enable hyphenation.In InDesign 2026 I can no longer find a Presets/Dictionaries folder inside the application bundle, and placing valid Hunspell files (e.g. sr_Cyrl_RS.aff / sr_Cyrl_RS.dic) in user-level dictionary folders has no effect. No Serbian language option appears in the Language list after restarting the application.My questions: Does InDesign 2026 still support adding new spelling/hyphenation languages via custom Hunspell dictionaries? If yes, what is the exact supported method and folder location on macOS? If not, is Serbian Cyrillic planned to be added officially in a future update, or is there an alternative Adobe-supported workflow for adding new languages? Is this behavior specific to cert

Since Indesign version 2025 all the time a whole textblock suddenly disappears. It still exists, but is not shown.  It happens in different situations: when i scroll, want to start typing, etc. I already switched of the gpu-modus, but that does not help.I am using Windows 10 on a Imac 4K intel core I5.

I am seeing a discrepancy between the colors on the parent pages vs the document pages (see below). Any thoughts on what is causing this? parent page (more transparent)document page (less transparent)

Ever since the update in November last year we have not been able to successfully export any files that contain placed InDesign files to PDF. I placed a post in the community forums last year where multiple other people experienced the same issue but now that post is gone without being addressed so I am posting it here again.Last year the exported PDFs resulted in low resolution images regardless of what export settings were used. Now we aren’t even able to generate a PDF with constant errors.The reason we used placed InDesign files is so that if any changes are made to the original we’ll know because the file will show as modified. I do not want to copy and paste the InDesign file or place a separate file like a PDF or JPG as that doubles our work and doesn’t guarantee us that we will make sure all files are up-to-date. We’re using InDesign 21.2 on a 24 inch M1 Mac - everything was working fine until the latest update and we can’t afford to revert back to the previous versions now.I n

Several months ago, after one of the application updates,  I noticed I can no longer move the InDesign frame around on my desktop as freely as I could before. There’s a definite lag time where I have to wait—sometimes up to 30 seconds—before it’ll let me. I’m on an iMac and using only one monitor, so I’m constantly needing to shuffle windows around and that lag time adds up. It’s worth noting that I have the same issue at the office and at home; 2 different operating systems (Ventura and Sequoia), both using InDesign 2026. I’ve tried deleting my preferences and reinstalling InDesign. Neither helped.

I am experiencing an issue in InDesign where the elements on my pages across my documents in a book are not consistent in color. When I copy them over from one page to another, the color changes. Anyone encounter something like this before? As seen below, the dark blue color is what I would like to use and the lighter blue is what the same block is pasted as in another document in my book:correct, original colornew, lighter color that copies over 

Originally posted this on Jan 21 and post has disappeared likely due to the migration:I have the latest update 21.1 and ever since I have been having issues converting pages to PDF from a file I am creating using InDesign. When I try to convert certain pages to PDF, it either will create the PDF but it is corrupt and when I try to create the PDF again, it says there is a background task running and that task is preventing me from doing anything else. Ultimately, I have to End Task and restart the program. It will work for a bit then I will have the same issue again. This is happening daily. I have not been able to pinpoint which background task is causing the problem. Running on PC, Windows 11 v23H2**NEW** Since my post last week, I found the issue but have no control over it. I always use File > Export within the same document when I export pages to PDF. Sometimes the Export to Interactive PDF window shows up and the export works properly. However, sometimes the Export to Adobe PDF

Seems like for no reason overnight all files within the same folder, and same Book, are doing this to the part number text boxes. I have never seen this, any ideas how this happened and how to correct it? I have more than a dozen files in this folder. Other InDesign documents open fine, it's only the files within this folder and they are all part of a book. Maybe something was done across the board to all files when the pdf was made from the Book?  

Hi there. I've installed the latest update of Indesign 2020. I'm now experiencing problems in that if I open a converted version of an Indesign docment, make changes then try to save, it says "Indesign is unable to save this file. We tried, but it appears to be damaged." (See Indesign 2020 Fig. 1). I have tried to save a copy of my document and it says the same thing. I have even tried to create a new document in Indesign 2020, save it as a test before putting anything in it and again the same message, "Indesign is unable to save this file. We tried but it appears to be damaged." (See Indesign 2020 Fig 2).  Is it a bug in the new Indesign update? Do I uninstall it and reinstall Indesign 2019? Could someone please help me?

Bonjour!Sous windows 10 au lancement de indesign 2025 j'ai le message d'erreur suivant : l'application n'as pas réussi à démarrer correctement (0xc0000142). Cliquer sur ok pour fermer l'application. J'ai essayé de réparer d'éventuelle erreur fichier, j'ai aussi tout désinstallé et tout réinstaller en suppriment les anciennes versions ainsi que les préférences, mais rien n'y fait !  Avez-vous une idée du problème ? Sachant que sous la version 2024, cela fonctionne parfaitement

Das heißt, die letzte Zeile eines Absatzes (oder 2, je nach Umbruchoptionen) klebt an den beiden ersten Zeilen des nächsten Absatzes (oder nur 1).Umbruchoptionen habe ich alle durch, ich kann damit lediglich wählen, wie viele Zeilen aneinanderhängen. Es ergeben sich unschöne leere Flächen am Spaltenende, für die noch Text vorhanden wäre.Verkettungen gibt es nicht, harter Zeilenumbruch ist selbstverständlich gewählt.Bei "klebenden" Überschriften hilft es, diese mit hartem Zeilenumbruch in eine neue Zeile zu schieben und die darüber zu löschen. I am preparing a document in Adobe InDesign that needs to be sent to a print shop as printer spreads (for example: 40–1, 2–39, 38–3, etc.). For this, I use the Print Booklet feature.In the preview, the imposition looks correct, but I want to make sure the final file will be received properly by the printer.Previously, my workflow was to generate a .PS file from Print Booklet and then process it through Adobe Distiller to create the final PDF. However, I haven’t done this in several years and I’m now running into issues: When I open the generated PDF, the pages appear as single pages instead of printer spreads. The PPD option for PostScript export, which previously allowed proper output settings, does not seem to be working in the current version of InDesign
