I accidentally merged all the shapes into a single vector layer in Photoshop. Luckily, they still retained their individual paths, so I could use the path selection tool to select them. However, my job requires me to separate them into individual vector layers, and there are thousands of such shapes, like this:
i'm working in Ps, a painting project, and now my whole project has turned black and white. all of my layers. I'm fairly sure I pressed something accidentally but I don't know what or how to fix it. help??
My workflow for Canvas Size has always been using the up/down arrow keys to resize by one step at a time. However, recent updates to the UI have made it so the numbers nonsensically move 0.01 pixels at a time:Pressing “down” changes the value from 1366 to 1365.99If I go into Preferences > Technology Previews and uncheck “Enable Modern User Interface”, I can restore the classic interface which functions as expected – pressing ‘down’ once moves the value down by one pixel:Pressing “down” changes the value from 1366 to 1365This solves the problem for the time being, but I am concerned that a future update will force the “modern” UI with its attendant issue. Is there a way to force the modern UI to iterate only by whole pixels?---A few addn’l notes:Obviously an image cannot have dimensions a fraction of a pixel. Once “OK” is pressed, it rounds to the nearest whole; i.e., in the first screenshot pressing “OK” at 1365.99 px just results in a width of 1366 px. The “Image Size” UI behaves a
not much more I can add, the question says it all
I opened a .CR2 raw file with the latest version of Photoshop, which subsequently opened the Camera Raw a[[. I did my various edits on the file and finally clicked "Done". To my horror, the file subsequently was NOWHERE to be found! It was gone... I searched everywhere and it's gone for good. This is extremely upsetting as this was a very valuable photo... 😞 I tried reproducing, and could not reproduce it.... I noticed the file missing immediately after I clicked "Done" in Camera Raw. In addition, the other files that accomodate an edit to a raw file were not there as well. Version: Adobe Photoshop 2023OS: Windows 11
Issue summary: Camera Raw Filter inside Photoshop fails with an unrecoverable GPU error after using Select Subject or Adaptive Presets. The subject mask is created successfully, but GPU memory remains pinned and Photoshop disables GPU acceleration several (about 30) seconds later. This error is also induced simply by invoking the presets in Camera Raw and doing nothing else – error after about 30 seconds.Sometimes more editing in the session can take place, but after closing Camera Raw can no longer be invoked (ACR requires graphics processor to edit).Product and version:Photoshop desktop version 27.7.0 Camera Raw version 18.3.1.2580 Lightroom version 15.3Operating system:Windows 11 64-bitHardware:HP Z2 Tower G4 Workstation NVIDIA Quadro P4000 (8 GB VRAM)Steps to reproduce:Open an image in Photoshop. Choose Filter > Camera Raw Filter. Use Select Subject or apply an Adaptive Preset that uses AI masking. Observe GPU memory usage in Windows Task Manager. Wait several (about 30) seconds
Photoshop detects my radeon rx 5500M and gpu acceleration is enabled. gpu compatibility check passes, but select subject and remove background fail, saying "Couldn't find a subject/background" gpu driver is from 2021.
Hi, I was following a tutorial today and noticed that the “Crystalize” effect doesn't work in Photoshop. Neither for raster layers, nor for smart objects. I tried everything and double checked that I am working in RGB 8-bits channel mode. Interestingly enough, I tested this effect as well in Illustrator for some vector and encountered the same issue.I have latest updates of Adobe Apps, Mac Book Air M5, macOS Tahoe 26.5.Could you take a look, please? Thanks a lot :)
I’m trying to test out a few roofing materials, and have been using a rectangular marquee around the roof.It generally works, with the caveat that it’s distorting the final result, even when given explicit instructions not to.So - what’s the best way to avoid this?Bonus question: Which models work best for this kind of stuff? That is, preserving the original image while changing a few details and retouching?thanks
Photoshop (and several other products) are shipping an old version of Node.exe that is flagged for a critical vulnerability. (CVE-2025-59465)I do not understand how a company like Adobe can ship a product and not have the installation scanned for vulnerabilities. There are known exploits for this and it is in need or remediation. The version of Node.exe in Photoshop is 22.18. The patched version is 22.22Please fix this ASAP.
How to use Generative Fill in Photoshop Did you know you can remove distractions from your photos quickly, try a new background, or add something just for fun? You can even remove unwanted objects and fill in the space. It’s really easy using Generative Fill. I have to warn you, it can be quite addicting! Generative Fill is an amazing new suite of AI-powered capabilities powered by Adobe Firefly that enable you to use simple text prompts to add, extend, or remove content non-destructively. It will blow your mind how Photoshop can match the colors, perspective, and shadows. Generative Fill is also available in Photoshop for web and Photoshop on the iPad. Here is my environment:Apple Intel iMac; Tahoe 26.5 Adobe Photoshop 2026 Not sure when I last used Photoshop but it used to work fine. Today it will not run. I tried launching it directly from Finder and also tried launching it from Lightroom Classic. When I try to launch, nothing happens. I might see a splash screen for 1 or 2 seconds and then nothing. Tried rebooting and tried running in Safe mode; no joy. Lightroom seems to be running fine but not Photoshop.I realize this sounds like an Adobe question and I will pursue that, if I can find an Adobe support site. They sure as heck do not have a support phone number, that I can find.Does anyone have any suggestions?Thank you.Hector
Don’t understand why photoshop creates strange color noise when colorizing a B&W photo. The attached sample should not happen as pure colors should not be generated but wondering if there is an easy way to get rid of them? Tried “Color Range” but it not great.
I work in PhotoShop daily and sometimes I use a digital pad so I can draw pictures using a stylus rather then my mouse. The pad is a 22 inch Huion tablet which is hooked up like a third monitor. The problem is when I use it and work in PhotoShop I have to drag PhotoShop over to that pad. That wouldn't be so bad but any window that has not yet been open will open on the default monitor and not the monitor where I dragged PhotoShop. My question is this, is there a way to bring PhotoShop to another monitor all at once so everything opens at that location rather than the default location?
I spend time arranging my palettes (3 monitors) so I can save the workspace and work faster.EVERY TIME a major update comes out my workspace gets deleted and I have to spend time redoing it.For the love of any deity, natural force, or just yourself, spend time on simple core functionality and less on things you think we all need to make work faster. If you can get AI to arrange my palettes… then get to work.
I’m using the latest ACR/PS versions on a Windows 11 laptop. I always save as high-quality (12) jpgs, but this is probably irrelevant to the question. With XMP files, ACR snapshots, PS logging, and my own manual logging, it’s easy to recreate PS states from the original RAW, except for crops. I’m well aware that I can save individual crops as PSD files and come back to them later, but there are issues with this - the biggest one is that I’m struggling with storage space as it is and don’t want to add to the problem. It’s trivial to see the exact pixel dimensions of a crop, but I would need to recreate them with the subjects (99% of them are birds) framed with the exact placement. So, is there some way to do this? Could I manually write down some values while in the original session or maybe look at the original crop in a future session as part of a system to recreate it from the original RAW, from the state just prior to the crop, which sometimes is a previous, looser crop.
Hi everyone,I’m facing an issue where all .ccx extensions fail to install with no response or installation popup.Affected plugins tested:Lumenzia MagicTouch PixelExpandAll behave the same way.Problem description:When I double-click any .ccx file:Nothing happens (no installer window, no error, no Creative Cloud popup) No Adobe extension installer is triggered It looks like the file is ignored completelySystem details:Windows 11 Adobe Photoshop 27.7.0 installed and working normally Adobe Creative Cloud installed and signed in CCXProcess appears in Startup Apps What I already tried:Reinstalled Photoshop and Creative Cloud Restarted PC multiple times Checked Windows Security / antivirus blocking Tested multiple .ccx plugins (same result) Verified Creative Cloud is logged inWhy would .ccx files not trigger any installation at all (no popup / no error)? I was going to print from my Epson Surecolor P7000 but am having issues. I need to change the paper size, for starters. I used to do that in the Print Settings tab. When I click on it now I get the dialog box shown in the second screen shot. I need to choose Roll Paper and specify sizes etc. What has happened? I am on a new computer and don’t believe I have printed from it yet. Do I need to install some kind of driver? The drop down list in Printer Profile also does not seem to be showing paper selections and my previously saved profile is not showing. Presumably I need to add that but I’m a little confused since the other selections don’t seem to be printer paper (see screen shot 3). Thanks for any help.
This morning when I started Photoshop all my actions were suddenly gone. In the action panel there is only a group called “default actions”. I used it yesterday and my actions were all there. When checking in Creative Cloud Desktop it says I updated to Photoshop v27.5 21 days ago - so that cannot be the explanation. I have searched my desktop and there are no atn-files later than the backup I created a week ago (and I have made important changes since then). Can anyone explain what may have happened and if there is anything I can do in order to get my Actions back (as they were per yesterday, not the older backup)?Yesterday I installed Premiere and worked a bit with it (it crashed), but cannot see how that would affect my Photoshop actions.
I received files (PSD, PDF and EPS, containing just the text layer and template) that were prepared by someone else and they need to be converted for hot foil stamping.I have looked up and found a lot of information and videos about how to create a PSD file and prepare it for the process, but nothing that tells me how to edit an existing file (files).Vague instructions from the printer (in Czech Republic) have not been helpful as far as getting anything done, but this is all of the info I have received: Embossing, hot foil stampingThe artwork should be always created in curves/ vector graphic, and either in specialspot color (called e.g. foil) as a part of the actual artwork, or in 100% black, but thisshould be in a separate file. We can also accept high-resolution line-art images, butthe resolution should not be less than 1200 dpi. These specifications also apply forspot-varnish artwork.and:"Incorrect/insufficient artwork for hot foil stamping, embossing, spot UV varnish, etc. " 300 d
I’ve got a keyboard that does macros. I had generative fill prompts set up, for example ctrl shift f11, remove text, tab tab tab enter. Now when I attempt this, it doesn’t work with the new dialog box. Is there a way to get this to work instead of tabbing to the generate button; like ctrl-entert or some other combo that just runs the operatrion? Attempting to tab to it causes the dialog header to change color like it is not selected.
