I have a cloud document which contains a lot of illustrations. They're drawn high res in this document and I need to be able to export them cropped, and at 25% of their actual size. (Keeping the high res version is important). Finally, I undo the changes after the export.  How do I do this safely? I crop the document, then size it down to 25%, then export it, then undo. My fear is PS crashing and because it's a cloud document, auto saves the cropped document. A work around would be not using Cloud Documents, but I want to be able to access this document from various locations so it's easier this way.  Can anyone suggest a means of safely cropping/resizing exports so I don't risk losing the high res images? (I could copy it to a new document, but because my computer hangs when loading new documents it's annoying, and I'm used to my method from when documents didn't auto save constantly. Hello! Is there a preset in Photoshop CC that each time I open an image, it will fit in the window. Each time I have to use (Command 0) to Fit In View. Is there a setting that fixes this. Thanks!Message was edited by: Sahil Chawla

Can anyone tell me how I did this? I am creating a tarot deck and need symbols for the suits of wands, swords, etc. I recall the process of creating the symbols out of ancient sword imagery and being able still having the details in a 2D format. I haven't done it in over 2 years and have completelty forgotten the steps on how to do it, and have had ZERO luck with trying to search how to do this.  This is what I was able to do before: and I am trying to do the same black outline on this new image: Thanks in advance!

Hi! I know this has been asked a few times but I can't seem to find an answer to my problem. I changed the location of my scratch disk in a location where I can easily see them but the problem is I can only see the temp files when I open Photoshop. Whenever I try to delete them it says I can't because Photoshop app is currently in use. I also tried the purge option within Photoshop but it doesn't seem to change anything. I hope someone can help. Thank you so much!

Hello!I’m a product photographer / Graphic designer specializing in end mills and other milling/turning tools. For some of my compositions, I like to incorporate the metal shavings (also known as chips) that are produced when these tools machine a part. I often use them as a textured background element in my photos.I’ve always wanted to create a custom Photoshop brush from an image of these chips. The goal is to make it easier to remove and then selectively paint the chips back in where needed during post-processing.In the reference image I’ve linked, I want to clear out the center area to make room for a logo, then use a brush to paint some chips back in around the edges to maintain a natural look.Could someone walk me through the best method for turning a detailed image like this into a clean, usable brush? Hello guys, I did some cleaning on my computer and I think I have accidently broken the UI home screen that displays all my current projects. So far, nothing else has been affected however, I can't create a new file and the home page looks like this. Any leads on how to fix this? I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling and it reamins the same.

When one person on our team saves a file as a PNG or JPG, Photoshop adds a lot of noise and makes the image very degraded in appearance. This is a recent change as of the last month and needs to be investigated.

I recently had a problem and Adobe support took remote control of my Mac and needed to restore my Preferences to default.  That solved the problem but now I have another.  When I open an image in PS, the image window is so large that even when the entire image is shown in the window, the actual window is much larger and the scrolll bars show.  Used to be the window frame was either the same size as the image or slightly larger with no scroll bars.  Sometimes the image itself moves out of view and I have to use the hand to drag it back into view.  I can't find the control that allows me to set the dimensions of the window frame..  Advice?

Hi everyone, since the latest Photoshop for iPad update, I’ve been having a persistent issue with the Liquify tool. It works perfectly fine when I open it and use the default brush size (100) — but as soon as I change the brush size, the tool completely stops responding. It doesn’t crash the app, but it just stops applying any distortion — no matter how I move my Apple Pencil or finger. If I reset the brush size back to 100, it still doesn’t work anymore until I restart Photoshop. Here’s what I’ve already tried:– Restarted the iPad– Reinstalled Photoshop– Cleared cache / checked storage– Tried different files and formats (8-bit, 16-bit, different resolutions)– Checked Pencil pressure and smoothing settings Nothing fixed the issue. Ok. This will be hard to explain. But it happened before, and it happened in older and newer versions. I had two different files opened. I was just working on one checking if everything is okay so I can save them. Then I realized, both files are suddenly the same. And they werent just a second before. I wasn't saving them. Wasn't duplicating them. Didn't mess with anything except one smart object that was open too which I closed.Now I wasn't sure what to do but I didn't want to lose the work. Hoping it's just some screen drivere issue (which happened before) I closed and saved. And got two same files. One was replaced with other while it was being open and I have no clue how. There is no shortcut that could do that. There is no action that could do that.There was nothing in recovery folder, no even smart objects in temp folder. I previously had Photoshop v 21 installed on my work laptop, but I upgraded and the option to download it from Creative Cloud is no longer available. I mainly require the older version of Photoshop to generate simple normal maps for 3D models, and I'm currently using v 22.2. This version works fine, but I've encountered a few bugs where the only solution is to uninstall/reinstall which I've never encountered when I was working in v 21. I'm also concerned that since they discontinued the v 21 download that eventually 22.2 might be discontinued, and if I need to reinstall it every so often to solve bugs then there could be a chance I lose access altogether. Long story short, is there a way to download Photoshop v. 21? I talked to support chat and they're telling me they can only provide a direct download to Photoshop v 24.0.

Hello, I've used PS in my profession for many years and had a pause but now this year I got it again and downloaded this new version PS 2025 and it's absolutely trash, I'm sorry developers. I have the newest Macbook M4 and it slows my whole system down, the loading time is a nightmare it's like im suddenly in a early 2000's PC. I don't have many other apps on my system which would slow it down. It's an absolute nightmare and some features are gone for example the "circle" and magic wand is also gone, like really?I want the older version and don't this newest one. How do I download it?

I just purchased the PS (desktop version, Windows 11)  a few days ago.  Things look good until I experienced a very weird problem that when I used the remove tool. Using PS remove tool, I cannot select the area of the unwant object that I want to remove because everytime I click my mouse it always create a line, always and always, then the PS is freezed until I have to use the Windows task manager to shutdown this PS app. I'm not happy at all.

I am a new user of PS 2025. Every time I start up my PC and open PS, it crashes, so I close PS 2025. When I reopen PS 2025, it works fine. Does this sound familiar? And is there a possible cause? In any case, I know that my internet connection is max. 65MB and unfortunately I can't change that. 

I am on Windows 11, up to date version and as of today any white in my images are now blue. I've tried messing with colorspace settings, HDR on and off, recalibrating display, etc. and it does not change at all.  Randomly earlier I had my focus set to another program, and when clicking back in focus for Photoshop the white went back to normal. But after closing and opening Photoshop it went right back to the blue tint. Images export fine and the white shows as white but not in Photoshop itself. No clue what else to do to fix it permanently.

On my work machine, the PS 2026 won't upscale using any of the three models avaialbe. They all produce a new file at the size chosen with the "Original" as the bottom layer, and the layer above that is supposed to be the upscaled version is just a black layer with a layer mask. The actual image is just a flat black color. When I try this on my personal version at home, it works as intended. What gives? 

In Photoshop 2026 there's a tutorial in the program called "Using layer masks". In it, the presenter explains how to create a layer mask on a green cup so that clouds from the image on the layer below becomes visible in the cup. Bottom layer is the clouds and above it is the layer with the teacup with the layer mask. There's a little chain icon between these two. So far so good. The tutorial then says you can even use adjustment layers on the layer mask. The presenter has the layer mask selected in the layers panel, clicks on Adjustments and selects Hue/Saturation. When she drags the saturation slider in Properties, the color of the clouds gets more intense, but the layer with the teacup is not affected. When I do this, both the teacup layer and the cloud layer are affected. What am I doing wrong? Help! My Photoshop is practically unusable. I use it all day, every day for my job and am wasting about an hour- two hours a day trying to reopen, shutting down my PC and resetting preferences in order for it to work, only for it to inevitably break again about an hour after.  I have attached a screenshot of the toolbar issue. Sometimes, my toolbar icons are just missing, and I will have to reset my preferences and shut down in order to get them back. Sometimes that doesn't wor,k and I will have to shut down my pc or close and reopen Photoshop a fair few times until they come back. After about 6-10 uses, Liquify will refuse to open, so I will have to shut down Photosho,p and usually when I reopen it I get the toolbar issue and it is all just a vicious cycle.  This last week it is has also started crashing when I try to open it, so I need to try and open it a few times before it fully loads up, Any help with these issues and i would be much appreciated

Please help me. The eye drop tool on my computer with the latest version 26.11 does not work. For example, when I select a rectangle and click on the gray color in the background, the rectangle does not change color. It happens with all objects from text to squares, circles, etc. I can only change the color of an object using the blend tool, and I have to copy the color code, but the eye drop on the blend tool does not work either.

I did this once and i cannot remember how, it is driving me nuts.I have a tshirt business and i need to create mockups of the same tshirt with different imagesI have an image of a tshirt (1500 px x 1500 px) White background (JPG).I have a folder with 200 PNG's images (transparent) all different sizes but smaller than the shirtI need to create an action and run a batch or script, so i can have all the images of the shirt and each design.I know that i did it once, I have more than 3000 images like that, we add new shirts and designs, and i need to figure out how to do it again.
