I cant seem to get breadcrumbs working in my output anymore. In the indigo skin, the breadcrumbs are there but if you click on them, they do nothing and in the Studio skin, the dont display at all beyond heading 2. So if you have a heading 3 in your TOC, there are no breadcrumbs at all. Is there something else I have to do?
Does anyone have any experience with documenting company software, where the ribbon and menus can be customized?Example:Previously in a topic, I would've documented the navigation something like this:From the ribbon, select the Utility tab, then click the Ppr button. The Processor Front End screen (Figure 3) displays. However, that button may or may not be under that tab, and I have no idea how the client would've customized their ribbon or menu. I've placed a reminder in topics like this:Reminder! Your menu options vary according to the security settings assigned as well as your assigned role. Has anyone documented this type of thing differently, where it was well received by clients and effective too? For reference, using RH 2020.4.173Thanks so much in advance for your time!
How does version control work in RoboHelp 2019 for GIT??? In a multi-author environment, will it automatically check out and lock files that are being edited? Or will users have to manually notify each other what they're working on and/or manually merge changes when there are conflicts? Also, is there a plan - and timeline (and if so, when?) - to deliver version control via RoboSource Control (3.1 or maybe RSC 2019????) and Microsoft SCC API (for example, Microsoft SQL Server 2017 Express)?
Hello,Can anyone tell me if Robohelp 2019 includes a software version control application enabling several technical writers to work on the same project at the same time? I can find a clear answer... Thanks!
Running RH 2020.2 (currently testing .4 update). Have successfully published RH frameless web output to an internal Microsoft IIS web server, but we're looking to migrate our output to a Microsoft Azure cloud hosted enviro. Specifically we're looking at placing our RH frameless web output in an MS Azure VSTS>Storage Accounts>Blob Containers location. At the moment, I have to manually copy over/transer files (via Microsoft Azure Storage Explorer) to the corresponding Blob Container after compiling updated output. It appears there are automation solutions for transferring local files to a blob container, but I'd like to automate this with RoboHelp's Publish tool if possible. Has anyone done this, or know if it's possible?
RH10, WebHelp Pro, Robohelp Server 9First, please do not move this question to the Server forum because plainly part of the problem is happening before the output is published. After generating output and choosing FIle > View> Primay Layout, every thing looks OK except that if I click the Search button, I get the Search input box and below it, the message:Error: Failed to initialize database. If I enter any valid search term, the only response is:nullWe publish our output to two identically configured WebPro servers. After publishing the above output, the result is that on one server, the published output works fine, including searches. On the other server, clicking the Search button produces a completely blank navigation pane. These results are infinitely repeatable despite numerous server restarts, deletions of SSL folders, CPD files, all the usual suspects.SO the questions I have are:What database is failing to initialize? What would account for two different published
Hi,We have multiple Robohelp projects created and maintained in Robohelp 2019 Classic. We've been using this for a while now. However, recently we noticed that when we generate output, this line gets added to the HTML files of the Responsive HTML5 output:<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="../../template/styles/widgets.min.css">While this is not having a visible impact on our output, we want to be sure of what this line is and why is it getting added since the recent past?We haven't changed anything in the way we generate output. This line is seen on all HTMLs irrespective of whether it was updated or not.Any explanation will help. Thanks!
Is there any possible way to move the homepage ttile at the centre in the dark skin of Frameless Output ?
The hanging indent for numbered lists in my RoboHelp 2017 project do not show in the printed document output in Word. The bulleted lists are okay along with the rest of the printed document and also the Responsive HTML output. The hanging indent for numbered lists appear correctly in the review pdf that is created in RoboHelp. What am I missing? Thanks,Jose
Hi, I am wanting to have a nicely formatted output in Word. I have looked at both the online help and Peter's site for guidance and am still struggling with this. I want to have a set of topics that will end up online and in a printed manual. However, I also want to be able to output a specific topic as a stand-alone document with a different appearance. For example, if I were creating a book of recipes then I would expect pages of recipes. However, if I also wanted the option to generate a document with just one recipe, then I want the page to look different. The single recipe would have a flyer type of appearance vs a page in a book appearance of that same recipe in the full book output. Is this possible and where would I start? Another idea I have wondered about is having the ability to print a topic from one of the other online outputs and have that output printed with additional print-only content such as a different header style, the addition
Hello, I have RoboHelp 11 and have been publishing for years without issues. The last time I published the search stopped working completely. I found a discussion from several years ago that suggested I delete the .CHD file and republish. I deleted the .CHD file and that didn't do anything but break all my links. Any other suggestions? Thank you,
I had used RoboHelp 1017 for several years but I started a new job and they are using RH 2020. I've been trying to setup all my styles and I previously used the function "Style for following paragraph" when formatting styles. I can't figure out in RH 2020 how to do that. Side note I really don't like RH2020 because I'm not very savvy on html or css. The RH 2020 you really need to be trained in using the code. Back to my issue, is it possible to set the next style to follow in RH2020? If I need to put it in the code how or where would I do that. Thanks,
I want to use the Indigo skin the titles of my TOC are too long and they are cutting off in the image? Apart from shortening the text, does anyone know how to make those images bigger to accommodate all the text? Can I change those images completely?
The first line of the numbered list in my RoboHelp 2017 project appears indented (incorrectly) in the printed document output in Word. The consecutive line numbers that follow have the correct margins. Otherwise, all content appears correctly as formatted in the Responsive HTML output. How can I fix this? Thanks,Jose

Hi all,Just wondering if a RoboHelp project has a "urls" file, similar to the TOC, Index, or Glossary files? Thanks!
I am using Rh 2020.4.173. Previously in older versions of Rh 2020 I could pick the front of my text, go to Properties > General and type in the number I want to restart numbering. Now iwth version 4, I don't see that option. In the image below, I have my cursor placed at the beginning of my line of text.
Is there a way to have topics that are not included in the TOC, included in the output?
Format: FramelessVersion: RH 2020 update 4I am not able to locate where I can adjust the table of contents (TOC) in the left panel of the topic page. Specifically, when I click the topic heading (hyperlink) in the TOC the link changes color. I cannot find where I can just the “on-click” color change to select the color I want. Does anyone have any insight on where I can find this?
I updated to latest update 20.4.0 and now I cannot Select line of Text and do Tab or Shift Tab to indent the selected text. I have not been able to locate the Indent feature for selected text in this lastest upgrade. Anyone know how to do indent of selected text (within a page) not part of a Header line or a table so not appropriate to use the indent feature from Styles features.Any assitance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,Leona
So we are doing a trial of RH 2020 (we've been using 2019 for a couple of years and have recovered from the shock, mostly). When testing an import from Word to RH, everything works as expected EXCEPT the character styles and in-line formatting, which appear to be completely ignored. One problem is that the only available character style that RH seems to detect is "span." What I've tried, with no success:Formatted content both in-line and using a character style in Word.Used the template organizer in Word to confirm that my character style does, in fact, exist in the template that is attached to my doc.Saved the Word document as a template, and then applied the template to the same document (this was a Hail Mary, and it failed).Tried to import a couple of different docs.Checked Mr. Grainge's site.Read the RH User Guide.Wine.Thanks very much for any light you can shine on this issue. Here's an infographic!
Is there a way to lock a Frameless Skin or other outputs similar to how you can lock content under the Author window? How exactly does RoboHelp 2020 maintain check in/check out status and version control priority if two people are working in the same project? There have been some issues with work being overwritten or not being saved properly between myself and another coworker.
Importing FrameMaker 2020 documents into RoboHelp 2020. In RoboHelp, every paragraph in every file starts with two bookmarks. For example, the first paragraph of the first topic (the title) has the following two bookmarks:496_Chapter_465649465649And the next paragraph (a body paragraph) also has two bookmarks:496_Body_465652465652 I can understand why the title has one bookmark (the orignal FM files has a marker for the TOC), but not two. And I don't at all understand why the body paragraph has one bookmark, let alone two. The original FM file does not have any markers in that paragraph. The whole document is full of these. Is there an import setting I need to specify to import/create bookmarks ONLY for the markers that actually exist in the original FM files?
After upgrading from RoboHelp Classic to 2019, paragraph styles are missing and an Application Error appears that reads "The application has run into an error. Please save your unsaved changes and restart from menu: Help > Restart RoboHelp"Any tips as to what's going on or what was done incorrectly? Thanks.
Just installed today's update 4, and immediately ran into problems. My master page uses the Chapter Title field in the header. When I generate PDF, the chapter title does not appear. To confirm, I downgraded to update 3 (2020.3.32). Using the exact same project, the chapter title shows in the PDF.Has anyone else had this problem?
