I have a situation where my styles (default.css) document disapeared. I manual put a copy back into the asset/css folder. However, it still will not load when I use RoboHelp 2020 (v 2022.02.22). The styles menu is empty. Whne I click the + in the styles menu it does not do anything either. This happened at the same time the file names all changed to the document names, which I was able to fix. Does anyone have an idea on how I can fix this? 

2022.4.179 I'm trying to paste from Word into RH.I go through Notepad but after I paste into RH, the end of the lines have breaks <br /> and it makes it really hard to apply styles on the fly from within RH.How can I paste so that the text has the paragraph code at the end of each line </p> ?I accidently tag a paragraph as part of  an ordered or unordered list, and try to correct my error by clickon the the p or body style to change the list back into normal paragraph style ... and nothing happens. I go into code and have to manually remove all the list tags.Is there a way to just click back into the list and apply the CSS style to make the list a normal paragraph? Thanks in advance gang! PS: when I import a Word document it all comes in great with the paragraph tags at the end of lines. For last minute edits, with content from Word, I'm trying to make text insertion as painless as possible.

Hello,I maintain a merged project, still in RH2019 classic, target output is microsoft html helpit is composed of a main project with a 'bunch' of subprojects.In several of those subprojects there are links to neighboor compiled chm projects. this works perfectly when you open the helpfile (chm) completely. In that case all subprojects are in the scope and searchable.BUTWe use the contex sensitive help  (F1 in our microsoft solution) and this calls the right chapter in the right project. In that case it is the specific sub project that is opened and not the whole collection.And then the link to the bagage file does not function (because not in the scope of the runtime I think)How to solve this without copying the topics?best regardsOlivier 

Does anyone have a script to create a "Related Topics dialog" such as in 2019, and is not in 2022, so that a popup menu can be created for a list of topics. Ideally, the dialog would have ability to add links from the entire topic list, to an adjacent list that becomes the popup menu content. And if by chance someone created a script to convert Related Topics in the html of 2019 files to convert to 2022, that would be great. I have a very large project, and still holding off on upgrading it till I have both of these scripts. Too much work manually.

Using RoboHelp 2020.8.34 and after I selected “remove connection,” it seems that “open connection” no longer works. I don’t get any error messages, but when I make a change to a topic and check in, no files appear in the dialog for checking in files. What could be wrong and what can I do to fix it? I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling RH once as well.

Hello,We have a problem that happens like clockwork in our environment that I have been searching for a solution for.WHen we change passwords in our AD environment, we lose connection to  Team Foundation Server (TFS) through Modern RoboHelp (MRH). It is not immediate and all other connections to TFS work after re-entering our credentials on those applications. When we try to access TFS through MRH we get the message" Version Control - TFS Authentication Failed." There is no prompt to login with correct credentials.I believe the issue is that RoboHelp is hanging on to the previous TFS credentials and thus far I have not found a way to delete them. I have gone in to the Windows Credentials Manager and delete the reference with the TSF address in it. There are a LOT of Adobe cached credentials and it is impossible to tell them apart to know what they are for.After a day or two we will suddenly be prompted by MRH to enter the TFS credentials and once we do everything starts

When I create a printed document, the images in my Robohelp 2019 classic have borders, but when the document is created, the borders do not show just the images. How can I fix that?  I don't want to go into the word document and then have to add the boarders manually.

2022.4.179 Where do the MapIDs reside in a pupblished project?I know I can export the MapIDs file and hand the .ali file to developers. They should know what to do with the information stored in the .ali file?When I publish the project, I cannot see the .ali file? Is there supposed to be one when the project is published? Where does the MapID info reside?I'd like to be able to explain this to the developers in a meeting, but can only explain "my side" of the process.Thanks again in advance for all info you can provide.P.S  By now it should be pretty obvious I know next to nothing about coding 😉 

Are these bookmarks created uniquely across topics, or are they unique across the entire Robohelp project folder?

In RH2022, is there a way to remove the underscores and the .pdf extension from a PDF file once it is in the Content/ToC, e.g., FCOI_Request_User_Guide.pdf to FCOI Request User Guide ...and, as always, thanks so much for all the help you folks have given me! Lon

Hi... Has anyone encountered this issue and/or knows how to fix it? When I refresh the MS Edge browser while in the Contents tab / Index tab in WebHelp output after performing search in the Search tab and then moving the other tab, the sidebar redisplays the Search tab and search results instead. Thanks!

2022.4.179 I duplicated project by copying the entire folder contents. When I opened up the new one the Output Presets and templates were missing. So I went back to the original, selected the output preset and selected view in folder, but couldn't find it.What file do I have to either copy or import to get the exact same settings in the duplicate?Thanks in advance.

Hi, I am trying to link PDF files from one child project to another, i.e. Child 1 contains the link, Child 2 contains the PDF. When I create the link in Child 1, a copy of the PDF is created in assets >docs. This is making my project too large.Also when I later make changes to the PDF in Child 2, they do not transfer into the link in Child 1, as the link in Child 1 is actually linking to the PDF it previously created in assets >docs. Is there any way to link to the PDF directly in the Child 2 project, so I don't have to redo the hyperlink each time there are changes to the document? I hope this makes sense!  

2022.4.179 I'm new to Topic Layouts. But before I set one up I noticed that there were three discrete areas surrounded by blue dotted lines:headerbodyfooterI set one up but I can't figure out why the body area is only around the first Heading 1 and a bit of following text. Shouldn't it be around the entire body of the topic and end just above the footer area? Take care 

2022.4.179 How do I control Tile images?I want this simple image, green chevrons, to be turned into a thumbnail for the Home Page tiles. However, when I view the page all I get is a green box: I'm controlling my tiles from the TOC and under My Frameless output preset I've selected:Layout > Use template home pageand under Show Thumbnails for images, I've had no luck when selecting Create Thumbnails for Images OR Style Existing Images as Thumbnails.Any thoughts?

Is there a way to get a heading to continue (and say "cont'd") to the next page if the content is to long in a topic.  I would want it like this example below.  

Does the RoboHelp video player have an option to display captions (like from a vtt file)? I don't see it, but surely I must be missing something as then the built-in RH player would not be accessible? 

2022.4.179 Must be me, but I can't find any instructions on how to insert a Map ID for headings in a Topic.I want the Map IDs to be granular: go to a specific place in a topic, not just the topic. I need to hand some "stuff" over to the Devs.How do ya'll do it!?Take care

Is there a simple way in RH2019 to map terminology?For example:Out-of-the-box product has a section in the menu called Category.Customer A uses the term Group.Customer B uses the term Type.Customer C users the term Bracket.Customer D uses the out-of-the-box term, Category.The product is configured to reflect the clients' terminologies. For Customer A, the section in the menu is called Group, and so on. Let's say there's a hundred elements in the UI that are specific to each customer. If there a simple way to maintain the content, so that each client gets documentation that is customized to their version of the product, instead of the out-of-the-box version?

I like the topic layout in frameless skins, with the topic sub menu to the right!However, for the Home Page, how can I simplify it so that only a few tiles appear?My first thought was to break up a topic into separate topics and put under a section, but then when I click on a section tile I go to the underlying topic tile.Is there a way to turn OFF Home Page tiles or a better way to declutter the Home Page?Or do I give my head a shake and approach the Home Page in a different manner 😉 Thanks and take care

RH 2022.5 Starting to doubt our upgrade to RH 2022.5 as the number of bugs seem to be larger than expected.Just a quick check before I make yet another batch of bug reports, but I've encountered the following 2 issues: Table continuation markerTable continuation markers no longer seem to accept 'special' characters such as é or à.In 2022.3.93, the following message was successfully rendered:In 2022.5 no longer:Whitespace problemIn 2022.5, empty <p> tags are no longer outputted in frontCover page layout. Hilariously, pre-existing PDF templates do not have this bug. As soon as you change a letter in the title, though, it seems to be recognised as belonging to 2022.5 and this bug appears. 

Hello.  I am using Rh2020 V3.0.  I know I have some images that I imported in that I would like to delete.  My project is rather large and I went to Reports > Unused Files.  The downloaded report only shows the files that I have viewed on my screen.  How do I receive a downloaded report for all the Unused Files in my project without scrolling to the end of the listing?  

I have attempted to create a "list style" for some numnbered lists that we have that are pretty simple.  These lists have 3 levels.  first level is decimal, 2nd level is lowercase alpha and 3rd level is lowercase roman numeral.  See below for example: 1.     Test2.     Test        a.     Test        b.     Test                i.     Test                ii.     TestThe steps I took to create my list style is to right click on the Alphanumeric style and choose Duplicate and then name the duplicated style AlphanumericKEES.  From there, I edit the style and I setup Levels 1, 2, and 3 for both content and numbering settings by making changes to indents, spacing, line height, vertical spacing, padding, margins, if necessary.  The Preview is showing me that

Hi.  Does anyone know what could be causing my output to be showing where it's only using 1/2 the screen size (Edge).  I just installed update 5 and so now I am runnning RH 2022 5.28.  I haven't generated and viewed in a few weeks but I am 100% that it was correct the last time I viewed it.  I have not a clue what's causing this or how to resolve.  I'mnot finidng anything when I search in the way of helpful information.  See below for example of what is happening.  There are 5-6 inches of blank white space on the righthand side. .
