Hello,I'm using RoboHelp 2015 and creating WebHelp. The help is context sensitive and that is working. When the user clicks the help icon on a page the correct help module is displayed. However, I'm wondering if the entire TOC could display and the context sensitive module's help display as open in the TOC and the correct page still display. I'm seeing that the user has no way to get to the entire help's TOC.Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks,MDawn
Hi,Recently upgraded to 2017 and am using the new Indigo layout. I note that with more than one merged help project the browse sequence doesn’t work properly or sync with the TOC. It works with a single project or with just one merged project? As I use 30 merged projects this is a big issue. Thanks
I have set up my four screen profiles and layouts for iPad, iPhone, Android tablet and Android phone. Publishing gives me the correct sets of files but when I look at the Help on each device, only the default layout is displayed, iPad for iOS and phone for Android. I was under the impression that I didn't have to worry about this, the initial index.htm file would determine which layout to display. I've looked at previous discussions and applied the 10.0.1 update, which I did not have, to no avail. I've also read a few different discussions saying better to just use one layout which will display correctly across all devices. However, if we want the look to be different on each device, we need the different layouts, hence the question.TIA,Helen
I'm using the Responsive HTML 5 Indigo layout and have a couple of questions:1. Printing pages - there seems no way to print a page in the RH output. There's no print icon displayed. Am I missing something?2. I'm using different icons for the links on the homepage, but there's no way I can see to use my different icons on the child pages.HomepageChild pageI want to use a different icon for each product on the child page. Is there a way to do that? Thanks very much.

I keep getting a sheet that comes out of printer that says PCL XL errorSubsystem: KernelError: ColorSpaceMismatchOperator: VendorUniquePosition: 9 Can anyone help? Thanks!
When I attempt to view my helpsite after generating it, using preview after generating, or using the Primary Output View, neither of these options for viewing the site before publishing will display the topics in the internet browser window. Not sure what I am doing wrong here. Any help is appreciated.
I have some images and folder that do not show up in my Project Manager Pod. I believe that the Folder was created outside of Robohelp and the images were added to the folder outside of robohelp. Then the images were inserted into the project. The folder that the images are in does not appear under the Project Files folder. Is there any way to make robohelp "see" this folder and the images within it (without having to go through all of the topics and re-add the images)? Any assistance will be very appreciated.
We are using RH 2017 and we generate a Web Help output that subsequently gets integrated with the product build. We want to be able to identify each Web Help output that is integrated with the product, with a unique build number for traceability and bug tracking. Is it possible to insert some kind of About Help box in the top right corner of the help output?........-Tejas
Hi,I'm using RH2017, 13.0.0.257,Responsive HTML, Azure Blue layout. When users search for a term which includes the % character, for example, %WORK_DIR%, the correct search results display. However, nothing happens when clicking on a link in the search results. (%WORK_DIR% is used in our documentation and returned 92 results)The link correctly opens when selecting the link from the search results and clicking "open in new tab". However, the "Click here to see this page in full context" on the page displayed in the new tab, does not work. Also, normally, suggestions display as the user types text in the search field. When the % character is used in the search field, suggestions do not display. Using the example above, as the users type WORK_DIR, suggestions display. If they type % as the first character, nothing displays and there are no suggestions even as they continue to type. Everything's toggled on in the search setup:This happens in both IE 10 and Chrome 64.I know
Hi,Has anyone used an outside search engine, other than Zoom, on their documentation? I've used Zoom successfully for a long time and have now been tasked with finding "something better" (don't think it exists, but I try). My requirement is that the documentation is delivered inside our software, so it's not hosted on a server, which already eliminates 90% of my options. We currently use Zoom Javascript. Most research has led me to think that the RH search and Zoom search are the only options available...thank you!
Hi All,I need to change the position of back button that comes on indigo layout as per of the TOC created while documentation process in Robohelp.I have created a book under which i have created two more book and in each i have created topics like this: For which a layout is generated in indigo layout output:But i want that the back button as shown above should come after the topic names. Please help how can i change the position of this back button.Regards,Richa Arora
We are using RoboHelp 2015, and SharePoint for Version Control, so that 4 of us can access the same project. Sometimes (not every time) when we create bookmarks, RoboHelp creates these files that just add the #bookmark_names over and over until the file name is too long. When this error occurs, the only work around we have found is to manually close RoboHelp via Task Manager, delete the extra files from the local version of the project, and reopen, hoping it doesn't happen again.Does anyone have any insight as to why this happens or how we can make it stop?Images: Imgur: The magic of the InternetEdit: This problem occurs in both an old, very large and disorganized project, and a brand new created, very small project. So I do not believe the error is project-specific.Message was edited by: Jessica Mayfield
I am using RoboHelp 2015. I create WebHelp which is put in context in our company's software by Development based on URLs I provide. One of our customers cannot open one topic (that I know about, no other has been reported). That topic opens fine for me in my system. In the software, the title of the screen includes a / I made sure that the topic title did not contain the slash, but rather a space. The customer accesses the software across a VPN. I'm wondering if that's the problem, but I would expect that more topics would fail, and that's not being reported. Any thoughts on what I should look for?thanks,MDawn
Hoping you all can help. Using RH10. I have many projects that are compiled with a different conditional text (online vs print, etc). For the last release cycle, although the Project's content Conditional Build Expressions list excludes the text appropriately: That text still displays in the WebHelp output:I didn't change anything in the way the compiled help is being generated since the last release. I double checked that last release's output to be certain. This is what it should look like:Did some change in an upgrade?Has anyone else run into this? How do I fix it without rebuilding a project that has 100s of files?Thanks...Dawn
Hello community members, I need your expertise. I'm getting reports from some of my developers that the Responsive HTML5 layout (Indigo) is not displaying the search results with readable text. I do not see these results on any of my test environments.I'm wondering if anyone else is having issues like this. Could it be a plug in or something that these users might have that's causing this kind of issue? It's only a handful of users and I cannot replicate the issue myself. My results are like this:Thoughts anyone? I'm at a loss. Thanks in advance.
Does anyone know how to edit the copyright footer at the bottom of each page? I have found the line of "code" using the browser's (F12 - decoder) function. But I can't tell which CSS file contains the code so I can edit the copyright date? Thanks for anybody's insight.
I have to save Word documents as HTML in order to get the styles to import correctly into RH10 (I also tested it on RH17 with the same result). Apparently our system security messes up Word imports, so I have to convert them to HTML first. However, Robohelp only imports the HTML file itself, NOT the folder that contains the images. It creates an image folder in Robohelp, but it's empty. When I right-click the folder and attempt to import the images from the source folder, Robohelp doesn't "see" them. The images are .jpg and .png files.'' You can see from the image that the highlighted folder does not have a + sign.Is it possible to import .html files from Word? I have no problem importing them from other Robohelp projects.
Hi RHelpers! We're using RH 2017 (build 13.0.2.344). Our company is starting to make a shift from distributing .chm files to distributing responsive HTML5 outputs. This is somewhat uncharted territory for us.We will provide a public server-side help, but since not all our users will have an internet connection, we are also want to provide a locally installed fallback of the same output. Our product will try to access the server-side help first, but if there's no internet connection, it will open up the local help in their default browser. Our developers want to know if there's a preferred way to install this type of local html5 output on a user's computer. We use a Wix installer for our product. They're investigating something called Heat for this local help install, but before we go that route for all our help projects, they wanted me to ask around and see what approaches others here are using and what you might recommend.Another thing to consider. We also need to support merging other
This is a strange request/scenario but more of a question from the PM community. If we have a scenario where RoboHelp output is hosted on a cloud server and integrated with the product UI.Because it is accessible over internet/network anyone can access it even if the user does not sign in to the product. What if we want users to view the help only after they launch it from the product UI after signing in the product? And not without entering the product. Is that possible?
I've been encountering an irritating issue. I have created a small number of "external" webpages that package as baggage files with my output. So far so good. I created pages for these webpages in the Table of Contents for the project and used the TOC Page Properties box to Link to a baggage file and then chose the correct page.If I stop at one page and generate the layout (HTML5 Multiscreen in case it matters), the link in the ToC works. Great.I save my project, go home, come back the next day and open the project and--GASP--RoboHelp 2017 has forgotten that I linked those pages to a baggage file. The ToC page shows an external link icon and when I view the Page Properties, there is nothing in the "Link to" field. That would be fine if I only had one ToC page that I needed to edit each time. Annoying, but fine.BUT, I have three pages and here's what happens:- edit properties on first page, save.- edit properties on second page, save.- RoboHelp has stopped working. Crash to desktop.OR, I
Using RoboHelp 2015, I have a merged project containing two child projects. The search results only reflect the last child project that was published. I have 3 other help systems that I maintain that all merged projects with the same set-up but this issue does not exist. Responsive HTML5
I inherited a project that is years old, and the owner of the project isn't here. I haven't worked with Microsoft HTML output in a very long, long time, and can 't figure out why the published .CHM file just displays the Welcome page, with no Table of Contents, Index, Glossary, or any of that. The Welcome page is all I see when I View Output after generating and when I double-click the .chm file in File Explorer.I checked the settings in the Single Source layout. After the first output I tried changing all the Content settings to the project name, instead of "Default." That didn't work. I'm out of ideas. Can anyone help? Thanks!
Hi,I am creating a CHM by generating WebHelp and then using the WebHelp to CHM feature. My context sensitive calls to a specific topic are working fine, but I do not like the appearance of the Show link that appears at the top of the page when the help is opened via a context call. I would like to change this to "Show Contents" or "Help Contents" and I want to change the font. I am using Arial in my help project but the Show links seems to be Times New Roman and I can't see a way to change this. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks,Joy
I looked at older threads (12/2016) on this issue and it seems that there hasn't been a fix for this. I have a RH 2017 project with books in the table of contents. There are topics within each book. When the project initially is displayed in the browser, and I click on a book, it opens. As I start to click on other books, nothing happens. This is happening in Google Chrome (v 63.3239.132), but works fine in Firefox and IE. Any suggestions or work-arounds to fix this? Thanks,Andrea
