Hello, I need to create an Arabic version of a brochure. My InDesign is in Italian and I don't understand how to activate RTL because after selecting the “Adobe World Ready” composition in the “Paragraph” panel, I don't see any new icons/buttons as shown on this Adobe page:https://helpx.adobe.com/it/indesign/using/arabic-hebrew.htmlObviously, I would like to continue using the Italian version of InDesign because 99.999% of my work is in Italian.Thanks

I was writing on my text box when suddenly the content turns blank. I tried doing ctrl+z but I had hit the limit count of undoes. Even if I try to copy the text into another text box, nothing happens except for emptiness. I might have lost my text since I was writing directly onto the file.

I installed Adobe 2026 on my imac. Now undo doesn’t work. It’s permanently grayed out. ID 21.2 on a Retina 5K running Ventura 13.7.8. If you look at screen shot, I can’t undo the neon effect I made or undo the letter ‘M’ I deleted. I’m opening 2025 ID to see if that helps. 

Hi, I'm on the latest Indesign version (21.0) and my Save and Save as dialog windows are blank. It started last week, before that I did not have this problem. I am using a work-around as Save a copy window works. I already tried setting preferences to the old dialog window, deleting caches and force restarting Indesign. So far to no avail. Adding a screenshot of the Save dialog window. 

It started back in March and has persisted ever since. I have the latest, updated version of InDesign and Windows 11. I did not make any changes prior to the issue, and I have a newer desktop computer. I have been working with InDesign since it was the Pagemaker program, so knowledge is not an issue here. And, I have never had this problem in my 33 years of using Adobe programs. That being said, here is the issue:Randomly, when I edit an existing paragraph or character style, it can take 30 seconds to over a minute to be able to make that change. It happens when I choose a different setting, and also when I hit okay.  If I close ID and restart, it helps a bit, but not completely, and the issue continues to worsen as I make style changes.I have deactivated all fonts, and that did not help.I have installed and reinstalled ID, and that did not help.I have rebooted  SO MANY timesI have tried to delete my font cache, but I get a message that it is in use even after

I’m following online instructions to fix the problem of hyperlinks not working after exporting to PDF. Still, only some of the hyperlinks work (the same ones as before using Layout > Table of Contents, and configuring everything according to instructions).Should I reimport the TOC text from another document and re-style it???

When packaging a file, I would like the system to scan the linked files for other connected links and include those links in the package. Ex.) In the InDesign link, I have a PSD link that points to an Illustrator art board. 

I am working on a table figure in InDesign, and around a mounth ago I started having an issue with placing illustrator files into the table. For some reason, some of the elements in the illustration disapear once I place them into indesign. File in illustrator:Placed in InDesign:When I export the file (I have 6 of those illustrations) the R, L or both just disapear. I tried changing the font or making them into vectors so it won't be a font problem, but nothing works. The only solution was placing PNG file instead, but it lowers the quality, so it is not desirable. I tried also uninstaling and reinstalling. At the beginning the problem was fixed if I closed and opend InDesign, but now it does'n help as well. I don't know how to solve the problem. 

I’m creating book pages and I create a frame, and then in frame fitting options I select “fit content to frame”. But it’s not doing that. It’s not forcing the content to fit the frame, it’s fitting the content proportionally. Which I don’t want. Any idea how to fix this?You can see below that it’s fitting the content proportionally, not to the frame. 

Hi, After talking with customer service, I was directed hereto. I need help getting access to InDesign APIs; I cannot add them via my developer console, and for some reason, nobody can help me on how to add them to my plan, or the cost related hereto. We are exploring how to use InDesign APIs to do automated updates to .indd files in a serverless manner, such that we do not have to spin up a VM with the InDesign Server installed. Br, Katrine

In InDesign 2026, when you go to use the new “Open PDF” option, all the images open as 72dpi and in RGB mode. Is there a way to change the preferences on the images so the PDF opens in InDesign with a higher dpi and in CMYK mode?

HelloI renewed Windows for the latest version of Windows 11, and when I downloaded Adobe programs, I found that Indesign did not want to install its latest version and only stopped at version 19.5.5This is very bad and I want a solution to this problem

This is the second time this has happened with this specific client, and for the sake of professionalism, I cannot generate a new link.Does anyone have a 'magic trick' to fix this situation? Hello,I’m experiencing a blocking issue with the Package function in InDesign 2025 on macOS Tahoe 26.On macOS Sonoma 14.7, the Package function works perfectly with the same document.On macOS Tahoe 26, I tested on two different Macs and the issue occurs every time.When trying File > Package…, InDesign returns the error:InDesign could not package the document. Cannot copy the necessary linked files.  Details:All links are valid (no missing or modified files).Fonts are activated and not missing.The issue happens whether I try to package to the Desktop, to a folder in Documents, or to an external volume.Tried with “include fonts” checked/unchecked → same issue.Tried saving as IDML before packaging → still fails.This looks like a compatibility issue between InDesign and macOS Tahoe 26, possibly related to new file system permissions. Is this a known bug? Is there a workaround or an upcoming patch?Thanks in advance for your help

I’ve seen the other post with the same issue regarding the inability to package InDesign projects with files and fonts residing on a(n smb://)  server, but I contacted my IT department and they said that there are no access blocks on their end.Like others, copying all linked files and fonts to my desktop makes packaging possible, but I work with book documents with 50+ InDesign documents and hundreds of linked files. That would create hours of unnecessary extra work to locate all linked files, copy them over to my desktop, relink everything and package; not to mention having to re-relink everything when I copy projects back over to the server.I checked my System Settings and noticed that in Privacy & Security > Local Network, Adobe InDesign 2025 is allowed to communicate with devices on my local network. Yet, packaging is not possible. (I also use ID 2020, 2022, and 2023- for font purposes and imposition purposes).Everything worked fine on Sequoia, before I updated to Tahoe this

Hello, is it possible to change the indesign file name position when exporting from indesign to acrobat as pdf, as it automatically puts the text below on the left side but the beginning of the file name is cut out and I wanted to know if you can say to indesign to change the position a little bit more to the right so I can see the whole file name. Some time ago file search within main/subfolders stopped working when placing images.InDesign versions 20.5.2. and 21.2.Windows 11 Pro.It is possible that some of the Window updates broke it.

Hello everyone, I bought a new Windows 11 laptop with 16GB RAM and RTX 4050 (6GB), but Adobe InDesign isn’t working properly. Undo stops after 1–2 steps, and text or chapters disappear while editing. Tried versions 21.2–20.4, same issue. Thank you.

I was unaware that InDesign AI was now creating alt text, and even more surprised that the AI thinks this brown background image has a nude figure in it. Is AI good for anything?
