Welcome to the Premiere Pro Community Digest for May 2022. We have had an exciting new release since we last checked in with you. It's Premiere Pro 22.4. There are many cool new features to discuss this month and even a troubleshooting note or two to share with you.
Let's celebrate our Premiere Pro community!
Why celebrate? We need to remind ourselves what a great community we have. I truly appreciate all you do in support of your fellow editors and creatives, so thank you! Feel free to leave comments in the thread below and let us know how you're doing and what you're up to. It's been a month since NAB, and I am still left with fond memories of meeting and sharing stories with community members once more. I can't wait until the next time when we can meet again.
We've seen you in the forums, but have you been to the Adobe Video and Audio Facebook page lately? To remind you, this is where breaking news around the community is announced. Here is the link.
Adobe Video Virtual Meetup for May!
On the Premiere Pro Video Facebook page (YouTube link coming soon!), we had a virtual meetup entitled "Character Animator: ANIMATION — NOW FOR EVERYONE." At noon PST, this virtual meetup was held on May 25, 2022. I hope you enjoyed it. For me, it was truly inspiring. Please watch!
Hosted by Product Manager Erica Schisler for Character Animator, we explored how easy it is to up-level your storytelling by adding animation. For this community meetup, we were very fortunate to have the CEO of Story Pirates with us, Benjamin Salka.
Benjamin Salka is the co-founder and CEO of Story Pirates, a media company that celebrates kids' words, ideas, and stories. Under his leadership, Story Pirates has grown from a pilot program in a school auditorium in 2004 into a multi-award-winning media organization that produces one of the top podcasts for kids in the world, four albums, a series of critically-acclaimed books, and a sold-out live national tour that performs from coast to coast. Story Pirates Changemakers, the non-profit arm of Story Pirates, is dedicated to providing life-changing literacy and arts programs to under-served populations.
Erica also announced "Starter Mode" for Character Animator, which allows you to create animations quickly. Check out this page on the Character Animator forum. You can also read this page about Starter Mode in Character Animator Beta. The following video by Dave Werner has details about how to get started.
We'll have another virtual meetup on the last Wednesday of next month (and every month), so stay tuned to the Adobe Video and Audio Facebook page for news. In the meantime, watch the replay here!

Cutting The Multiverse: Scene Breakdowns from Everything Everywhere All At Once | Premiere Pro
Making a feature film is daunting under the best of circumstances. But it can seem almost impossible to factor in the pandemic, lockdown, and a far-flung roster of filmmaking talent. Meet a key player behind the new film Everything Everywhere All At Once, a hilarious and big-hearted sci-fi action-adventure about an exhausted Chinese-American woman who is swept up in an insane adventure where she alone can save the world. Hear from Paul Rogers, editor, as he shares how they created the film through cloud-based collaboration and shared technology, including Adobe Premiere Pro and Frame.io. To borrow a line from the movie: "The universe is so much bigger than you realize," the making of Everything Everywhere All At Once proves that sentiment to be confirmed with filmmaking teams and talent collaborating worldwide.

Featured Adobe Community Professional - Graeme Bull
It's time to present our featured Adobe Community Professional for the month, Graeme Bull. Graeme has been a community member since 2007 and has written over 841 posts, with many kudos awarded by users. Great job, Graeme. Graeme is the man with a plan if you are looking for an expert on NLE editing or encoding for multimedia; or horses, as we'll soon find out. Graeme wrote to me about his work and himself. Here's what he said.
Put simply, Graeme is another one of us that wears so many hats for the purposes of creating online video content to get messages out to the world. In his case, it's about horses.
To be able to tell stories accurately requires knowing how to frame shots, grab great audio and sound clips, incorporate music and soundtracks and of course enhance it all with further graphical visuals. Taking advantage of Premiere for the editing and After Effects for visual effects and incorporating some 3D work, he has been building a thriving YouTube channel showing off how horses think and do things in their lives and how to keep them and the people around them safer.
Originally a coder though working originally with Flash and then Adobe Media Server, he has been able to use his skills in the live video industry to make the post-production process that much easier through the knowledge of post-processing and encoding. Recently though 360 video work has been a growing area and it has been a fantastic challenge bringing that workflow across the adobe suite to allow for spatial graphics and VFX.
Thanks again, Graeme! The Premiere Pro community wouldn't be the same without you. Have you ever been helped by Graeme? If so, drop him a note here if you have time and give him your thanks.
