Hey Eric Sorry Mylenium's post is so negative and filled with very little actual info. We all started somewhere on our quest to master AE. For your needs, you can look up a tutorial on keyframe easing which allows you to slow down the out or in of a keyframe. Once you apply easing, you can adjust the curve to make it even more pronounced. Also, there quite a bit of scripts that give even more control and can be found at aescripts.com Hope this helps, Steve

Hi Karin import your log image and put on timeline. You can create a solid color BG on a layer beneath your image if needed. There's lots more options but that's the simplest way, Steve

Hi Jason You can use the pickwhip to drive all the layers' rotation value from one master layer. Just option click on the roation stopwatch of the layer you want to auto-rotate. This will add an expression to the parameter. Then use the pickwhip to connect that to the rotation of your master layer. Thx, Steve

Hey There's a couple of ways to do this. The most common is to use the layer above to mask the layer below by using the TrkMat pull down menu. Alpha matte uses the shape above to reveal the shape below. Alpha inverted matte uses the shape above to cutout part of the shape below. Hope this helps. Steve

The easiest way is to add an adjustment layer above your footage and apply your color correction to that adjustment layer which will affect all the footage below that. Hope this helps, Steve

Hi Are you using the text templates feature? If so, You can option-drag to create a new instance of the title within the sequence and then change the text. You could also duplicate the asset in the program window and use that for your new title. Just copying and pasting within the sequence will use the same asset but option-dragging within the sequence creates a whole new asset in your project which can have a different source text. Hey Bill You can just make that new offset audio and video a composition instead of a clip. Other then just use it like you would any other clip in your other sequences. Just select the video and audio and right click to choose "nest". This will create a new composition in your project window. Hope this helps. Steve

Are you are asking is it possible to exports individual clips from the timeline? You can do that easily by using the render and replace feature where you can assign format and location for the rendered files to be output. An easy way is: - Duplicate the blue haired guy and use as track matte for bald guy. Move that duplicate above the bald head guy and make 100% opaque. Then use the track matte pulldown menu (red circled menu) of the bald guy to create an inverted alpha mask using the duplicated blue guy (the next layer up). The top layer will have the eye ball turned off because it's only acting as a mask for the lower layer. Hope this helps Steve

You can render out that clip with all your effects and motion as a lossless clip with alpha channel (transparency). Then it can be used from there on out as a simple clip that goes on a track above any video. Here's another thread with lots of info to help you out. An alpha channel is an additional set of information that resides in the movie or still that tells the pixels whether they should be transparent, opaque or semi-transparent. This allows for overlays graphics on top of other media. In your editing program, just put your main footage on the bottom layer and your media with aloha above that. If you use a alpha channel compatible format, the editing program will automatically apply the alpha channel to the clip allowing you to see through it to the lower layers in your timeline. Steve

You could import the AE comp into Premiere as dynamically linked clip which would require no rendering and would be easily revised in AE later if needed with the change updating in your edit automatically (no rendering required). Or you could render that comp out in AE and just put on top of your video layer in your editing program. Because of the alpha channel feature on the format you render out in (lossless, ProRes4444, etc.), the video will show through any transparent parts. Thx Steve

You can use the sync by audio waveform function in Premierepro. Then once you have you video clips and audio clips synced, you can nest them to create a sequence that can be edited with on other timelines just like a clip Thx, Steve

The clip itself is unique but it still links to the original media. You'll need to either render out a new clip from AE or use dynamic linking to import the AE comp. Hope this helps, Steve

It's a pretty easy process. Import your layered AI file as a composition into AE. In that comp, trim all the layers to the length you want by: - select all - go to the point you want the layers to trim to - hit option-right bracket to trim all the layers to that point - right click: keyframe assistant: sequence layers. This will put them all back to back as an animation. Hope this helps Steve

Hi JC You could easily do this by applying the tint effect to make your footage black and white. Then keyframing the "amount to tint" value from 100% to 0% (see attached) For the fade out, just apply the cross dissolve effect and drag it out to what ever length you'd like. Hope this helps. Steve

The other way to do it is to put the city layer underneath the person layer. Set the city layer to Luma Inverted Matte in the TrkMat column. This will use the luminance values of the person image to key out the city image. Steve

Hi Swan12 That can be done in AE using either overlay modes or using the image of the person over white as a luma matte. You can place your "fill" footage on top of your "actor" footage and change the mode so that it only shows on top of the darker parts. You can also see very easily in the info next to the preview image. In my attached example the clip has been used 1 time. If you click on the arrow, it tells you what sequence it's in and where. You can select that usage and it will take you right to that clip on that timeilne. Thx, Steve
