What is the reason calling it Pan Behind Tool?  

In After Effects 25.3 on macOS, using mouse scroll or Option + mouse scroll no longer zooms in the composition panel. Instead, it pans the view, regardless of modifier key. This function worked fine in version 25.2. Tested on multiple Macs with clean installs and no tablet drivers.Please restore the ability to zoom with scroll in a future update.

If you want to change the position of the anchor point you have to use the anchor pt tool [Y]. But changing the [X, Y] coordinates of the anchor pt in the timeline will not change the position of the anchor point in the graphic area. So that what is purpose of anchor pt coordinates in the timeline ? Video also attached.

I’m just getting started with After Effects and so far I have been working with short clips and graphic files stored directly on my internal SSD. I do not plan to work on long projects, most of what I will do will be under 1 minute. The videos are imported at either 1080 or 4k. 1.) Based on what I described, and assuming there are no space limitations, is there any reason to consider working off of an external drive containing the media, or should the internal SSD be sufficient?2.) I might also be working on different computers at work, some with internal hard drives. Are hard drives fast enough to work from? Some drives might only be 5400rpm.Thank you

I add 12 repeater to a shape layer. Position works but rotation doesn’t work. How to fix it?Video is attached as well.

I’m trying to create a lower third template with two text ayers the lower text layer follows the other text layer vertically and horizontally. I used the expression from this thread.It works but with some extended characters  the text layers are no more aligned correctly to the left.Though the last comment in the thread above mentioned it I found no solution to this.Thank you for your help.The T in the layer below shifts the text box to the left

Often times, we need to append the latest version to a new render. Maybe its the latest version for today, or reflecting the version from the project.For example, using the [projectName].[fileExtension] template, you get:ProjectName_v001.aep >> ProjectName_v001.movHowever, often we have many comps inside the same AEP which all need to have the version appended to the end. Creating [projectName]_[compName] places the version INSIDE the filename, and not at the end. This results in ProjectName_v001_CompName.mov. The only way to put the version at the end is manually. What would be great, is some way to append the project version to the END of the string. Even an incremental version which reads other files in the output folder and goes up 1 version. For example something like [projectVersion] or [version] or [v###]. Is there some way to approach this that I’m not considering, or some way to create incremental numbers at the end of the string?

Hey everyone,I've been using After Effects for years without issues, but lately, whenever I add a 3D camera layer to a comp, the preview just freezes solid. I have a 3D button enabled on all the layers. I have two viewports open too – one with an active camera, another with a custom 3-view camera. It throws this annoying "using processor graphics" error even though I've got a beastly RTX 5080. Sometimes it shows this message and sometimes it doesn't—just stuck the preview. This wasn't happening before—everything was smooth. After Effects keeps telling me it's using your processor graphics after I disable it on the Device Manager—there is no effect to it. It still gets stuck and won't preview at all. Super frustrating for my motion graphics work!How to Reproduce (Easy to Test) Open any project or new comp. Layer > New > Camera (make it 3D). I am trying to expand the video preview on After Effects to two separate projectors. I have a Mac with an M2 chip, and I got a Wavlink in order to expand my screen to two separate outputs, and it works, but when I go to After Effects to view the video preview, it mirrors the output instead of expanding. I’ve enabled Mercury Transmit and checked both projectors, but it’s just mirroring the output twice. Is it possible to expand the output so it can be staged through both projector screens?

The screen recording that I’m exporting into After Effects, after exporting from Premiere is losing resolution - see attached images for reference. I’m exporting H.264, high bitrate, and making sure the frame rate is the same in the composition as well. The view is also currently set to fit, so that shouldn’t be the issue. Also tried creating a composition from the file in AE, but that didn’t help. Any ideas on what could be causing this?

This warning pop-up continues to pop up whenever I load up a project file in After Effects.  At one point, I would be able to click “Ok” and it would disappear, allowing me to continue work in the project and manipulate said 3D object just fine as it would load in just fine.  However, now, I get this warning continuously, unable to click away and move on.  I do not know how to solve this issue or what I did to cause this warning to persist from now on.

i have a xclip that is in the middle of my time line. i want that first frame to be dragged back to the beginning. i can't just drag the first edge of it. how can i do it? thanks.

Anchor point of text “MOTION GRAPHICS” is at the center.  When I adjust the tracking, text adjusts from LHS. What is the reason? In my view text also should be adjust from centre. Video also attached    

I've just come across this issue for the first time. I've imported AI files into AE many times before and had no issues like this one.After importing the layered AI doc into AE, only one layer will show up. Attached is a video I recorded of what happens. If you can make sense of it, please let me know. Note: I can save out eps as separate files and use those in AE no problem.I'm working on a macbook pro retina and just did a fresh format about 2 weeks ago so everything is up to date. I've tried restarting AE and my computer. Also recreating a new AI file with different dimensions.I blocked out the files on my computer in respect to my clients (in case you're confused).

Is there any way to create a particular sound file for After Effect by using  AI [Artificial Intelligent]? 

I went to double check my auto save and realizerd that the “General” tab is completely missing from the preferences menu. I reset my preferences file and it’s still gone. I can’t find any reference to it moving. 

AE is stealing focus after rendering finishes. The AE window automatically pops in front although I'm using another application. Please fix this. This is highly annying!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Win 11 64Gb Ram, Nvidia Studio Driver 572.83. The update to AE went ok, but I am getting incredible strained lag when I use the general top drop down menus - especially if you navigate back and forward. Even in AE Safe mode and Software only. Looking at Task Manager it briefly flickers the word 'efficiency' when it freezes but not sure if thats anything. Anyone else notice this. May have to go back to an older build of AE.   Your comment has been branched into a new post by mod.

This is the screenshot of my project. You can see a basic rectangle and an 'asset' (Both imported from AI using overlord).The only effect used is CC Repetile and the basic rectangle is just one single shape, the 'asset' is split into groups within the layer contents.When using CC Repetile effect on them, it creates a thin gap in between.However it should be noted that, when I use a shape created within AE, this problem doesn't occur.I tried to apply the effect after pre-composing, but that didn't remedy the issue. If you require anything more for a deeper diagnosis, I would be happy to provide.(The same settings for effects are used for all the shapes, only that the Expand Right values  differ for each)Thankyou for taking the time to assist.

My custom file exporter plugin works great on After Effects on Windows on x86_64. But recently Microsoft asked if I’m interested in supporting ARM64, so I started working on this.Both Premiere and After Effects plugins work perfectly on x86_64. The Premiere Pro plugin works also perfectly on ARM64, but the After Effects plugin doesn’t work.We investigated together (using Procmon and TTD) but only found this in the registry:HKCU\Software\Adobe\After Effects\26.0\PluginCache\en_US\VoukoderPro.aex_74697f7d-6eaa-731e-5ba9-290933586ec3\Ignore = 1Do you know why and how this could happen? How and where can I find more information to solve this issue?

Hi everyone, I would like to know if Element 3D is still relevant with the lastest After Effects update? Can we do the same with 3D without it?   Thank you!
