After Effects

I've been actively working on an Ae project for 3-4 days now, and I've been experiencing a “freezing image” issue since this morning that is completely blocking my progress on the project. After the error occurred, I tried to exit but couldn't, and Ae's error message said that 3D part plugins were the root cause of the problem. Frankly, I don't know what to do, but I've already spent over 25 hours on this project and still have a long way to go. Using After Effects without 3D part plugins is impossible for me, and this error isn't my fault. Bug: On Windows, After Effects fallback fonts are broken for 5 major international character languages: Arabic, Persian, Urdu, Hebrew, and Korean.   When After Effects encounters these fonts, it uses "Myriad Pro" as a fallback font which does not contain characters for these languages. After Effects displays blank, missing text and it appears broken and empty. The text does not appear unless user manually changes to a font with supporting unicode characters. This bug is also in MOGRTs exported from AE / imported in PPro.   This bug is not present on Mac devices, and the languages correctly use the following fallback fonts on Mac: Arabic: Damascus Persian: Damascus Urdu: Damascus Hebrew: Arial Korean: Apple Gothic   The languages below display correctly on Windows with their appropriate fallback fonts: Chinese: Meiryo Japanese: Meiryo Hindi: Adobe Devanagari Bengali: Nirmala UI Telugu: Nirmala UI Russian: Myriad Pro -------------------------------------

Hola, desde hace unas horas estoy presentando un fallo en el que me aparece el aviso de error de expresion utilizando las expresiones q trae el programa por defecto, todo empezo cuando hoy cuando trate de abrir un proyecto q incluia la expresion Zoom - giro 2D y a partir de ahi no consegui manera q volviera a funcionar, ya desinstale el programa 3 veces y nada, adjunto un video para q vean mi problema--------Hello, for a few hours now I have been experiencing a problem in which I get an expression error warning using the default expressions that the program brings. It all started today when I tried to open a project that included the Zoom - Rotate 2D expression and from then on I couldn't find a way to get it to work again. I have already uninstalled the program 3 times and nothing. I am attaching a video so you can see my problem.

Hi,Every time i try to apply the advanced 3D to any layer (f.e. a solid or even text) , it says this:"advanced 3d plugin generated an unexpected exception" and then after effects closes/crashes. I tried a couple things but nothing worked. My project opened fine a few days ago, but today it gave an error and won't open at all. I think some of the issues involved installing fonts and a new version of After Effects. I'm so frustrated. I now open the project and it crashes after a while. Sometimes it crashes directly. My driver is the latest version, and AE is also the latest version. I don’t know what the problem is, so I can only come here for help.

I have my label colors set to highly saturated color because that's how I want them. But now with Ae2025, if I select the 'Dark' theme, all of these colors are darkened as well. If I wanted the label colors darker I would make them darker in the Label preferences. At a minimum, this should not be the default behavior. Ideally you should include a switch to make it optional. Please fix this!

I can't open the script Animated Typeface.jsxbin in the latest version of After Effects 25.4. However in the version 24.6.8 I was able to open the script. The message that appear says: Unable to execute script at line 215. JSON is undefined.  

In the last few days, After Effects has been horribly distorting audio on the timeline. This applies to both MP3 and WAV files. The audio renders properly. These are the Preview settings, if it matters. Any suggestions? 

\\so when i go to open after effects it gives me this and it says also gives me plugin errors so ik its about plugins but idk how to fix ive tried restaring pc, reintsalling ae, deleting plugins but its even the plugins that come with ae i get an error so please help 

Posting this incase others are having similar issues or know solutions - I utilise MacOS Applescript in an Ae product (BlenderAe) from the command line https://ae-scripting.docsforadobe.dev/introduction/overview.html#running-scripts-from-the-command-line-a-batch-file-or-an-applescript-script and some users are reporting that it's not working with Ae2024 but works perfectly fine with Ae2023 on the same machine. In my own tests I was able to replicate the issue - DoScriptFile was indeed freezing up and not reaching Ae2024 until I added it to the 'Privacy & Security > Full Disk Access'. But this solution did NOT work for the users that reported the problem, and even re-installing After Effects 2024 hasn't helped them. I'm currently waiting for them to try `sudo tccutil reset All com.adobe.AfterEffects` from the terminal. I don't have the latest mac to test personally atm, so any other ideas on fixing this would be appreciated.

After installing the 25.3 update After Effects will crash on trying to open projects. I have tried creating new projects, saving them and opening those also causes After Effects to crash. I have tried rolling back to 25.22 and the problem still persists. I have also tried completely reinstalling the entire Creative Suite and it didn't resolve the issue. Hello AE team In the c++ SDK, if there are two characters and text is set as default left to right, we receive all text paths as expected. But if the paragraph options is set to right to left (as customers working in Arabic or Hebrew are) the first (right most) path is ignored.  This affects the very popular VC Saber and a bunch of my text based plugins. Attached is a visual example; the left column is LTR, and the right column is RTL. The first image is the plain text layers, and the second image is with saber and textbox 2 applied. Note how the first column is missing the first (rightmost) character. As a temporary workaround, a dummy character can be placed as the first character but it's a hassle.  Tested on AE 2023 to 2025. Since there's only one version of AEGP_TEXTLAYERSUITE1, I suspect it goes back to whenever RTL text was introduced. Any feedback is appreciated. 

Sat down this morning to the new update. Project freeze up after replacing video footage, like replacing source footage and reloading it from the same name. After that, the project goes F'all to hell. I have an image sequence that I have reversed (CTRL-ALT-R)When I animate the position I can't see the motion path or the position of the keyframes. When I reverse the layerr again (ie back to normal) the keys and motion ttrail becomes visible. Is this a bug?

On cleaning up smart mask intepolation it stops and don't work any more i did every thing to do some thing with that but i need help 

Either a bug or a huge oversight usability-wise, but having a very annoying issue with using Essential Properties on a template that is used across a project dozens of times, and now left with having to spend a significant amount of time editing all of these across a multitude of comps, making the whole point of EP kind of moot. Expected behavior:If the text properties of a text field in Essential Properties are NOT enabled, changing the size of that element in the parent subcomp/template should be reflected across all the uses of that template.Experienced behavior:Updating the template's font sizes have no effect on any uses of it. There is no way to "Refresh" or reset those properties, the only way I've found to have those layers reflect the change is to go back to the Essential Graphics panel, enable font size properties for those text fields and then edit, individually, the font size across all the uses of that template.

Hi,Have a brand new laptop (ROG Zephyrus G16 2025 -Ultra 9 285h, 64gb RAM, Geforce RTX 5070 Ti) and have just installed Creative Cloud apps and AE. Have an open file shared by client, which I  can open and render (if  I don't make any changes), but as soon as I move one element and try and make a change, AE then freezes. I can't render, and view display doesn't react and can't even shut down AE through Task Manager... I have updated the graphics driver. Any one have ideas as to how to fix? What other info do you  need from me to diagnose?Thanks,

I've searched the internet for solutions and nothing as worked so far. I've restarted my computer (4 or 5 times) reisntalled it 3 times, tried to launch with administrator and nothing has helped. This was installed legittimentally through creative cloud, and honestly a little annoyed I spent money on something that refuses to work. Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this? I can provide screenshots if needed. I have a fully updated Windows 11, if that helps. 

Hello everyone,I wanted to share an issue I recently faced in case it helps others. Until last week, After Effects was importing .glb files without any problems. Suddenly, it stopped working, and I couldn’t import any .glb files at all.At first, I thought the problem was with After Effects itself, but after troubleshooting I found out the cause: the latest NVIDIA GPU driver update. (Aug 19 2025)With the newest NVIDIA driver installed (Aug 19 2025): After Effects cannot import .glb files.After rolling back to the previous NVIDIA driver:  everything works again, and After Effects imports .glb files normally.So the issue is related to the NVIDIA driver update, not After Effects. I have already reported this to NVIDIA so they can fix it in a future release, but I wanted to post this here in case other users run into the same issue.If anyone else has experienced this, I recommend rolling back your GPU driver until NVIDIA releases a fix.

When I bring a photo with cropped edges into AE from Premiere Pro I lose the cropped edges and have to redo them in AE. Is there a setting to fix that? And why is the "cropped" effect SO cumbersome in AE? It is a breeze in PP!!   Title edited by Mod.
