Working on Mac Studio M1 Ultra. For several weeks now, and more specifically since the 25.5 update of After Effects, even when I'm not using Mocha Pro in my projects, After Effects sometimes crashes for no reason, displaying the message“After Effects error: crash occurred while invoking plug-in ‘mocha ProAEAEGP’.”I've tried all the solutions I've found in the forums: caps lock, clearing the cache, starting in safe mode, installing an earlier version of AE 2025... nothing works. Please do something, thank you.
No plugin, I have a feeling it's related to the puppet tool.I can't continue my work and considering to finaly switch to another software, the past 2-3 years of unstability drives me nuts.
Is there any element in Effects in Presets to turn this object into glass like? What I want is to make this object into transparent to see what is inside it.
Hey, I’m trying to figure out how to make this frame effect. I know how to do the coloring and glow, but the problem is I can’t figure out how to create these kinds of pixelated edge particles. I can't even find an effect that could do it. If you have any ideas, I’d be grateful!
Sometimes, you want to sample post-expression values and then change the interpolation between them. The way to do that, is by baking the whole work-area of the comp, and then selecting the keyframes you want, which isn’t great. The best way to be a thing to only place the post expression value as a keyframe, I know that this thing is easy to be done using scripting, but having this as a built-in feature would be great!I recommend a shortcut to be: Ctrl + ‘Click on the Stop-watch’.If you like the idea, please upvote it!
I know this question has been asked a million times, even i've come up against it before and somewhow managed to solve it but with every AE update i find myself back at square one again trying to remember how to fix it again. So, for the umpteenth time... how do i stop colours getting washed out when i render out in After Effects?! Here's some results from a test i've just made of a particular colour (#FF3E24) with screenshots taken in Illustrator and After Effects and then screenshots taken from MP4's outputted from both AE via the render queue and Media Encoder. For Illustrator i always use sRGB profile, likewise the working colour space in AE project settings i also have set to sRGB and as you can see in the results the colours match between programs. When i output MP4s both via the render queue and Media Encoder however the colours wash out. Current settings are:MacOS Ventura 13.5After Effects 24.0.1Media Encoder 24.0 AE Project Settings:&
The script is able to select layers by name without any issues. But when I attempt to generate a list of layers based on their names, it only shows the last layer instead of all the layers. How can I fix this?
I’m running into an issue importing a GLB file into After Effects and would appreciate any guidance.Setup:Blender 5.0 (exporting GLB / glTF) After Effects 26 (importing GLB) Character animation includes: Armature (bone-based body animation) Shape keys (eye blinking on head mesh) What works:The GLB imports into After Effects The armature animation plays correctly If I export multiple actions, AE detects multiple animation clipsProblem:When exporting a single combined animation, After Effects shows only one animation (as expected), but: The shape key animation (blinking) does not play at all In Blender, the animation plays correctly (body + blinking together)Export settings (Blender):GLB format Animation: ON NLA Strips: OFF All Actions: OFF Shape Keys: ON Always Sample Animations: ON Force Sampling: ONQuestion:Does After Effects currently support shape key / morph target animation in GLB files?Or is it limited to armature-based animation only?If shape keys are supported: Is there a spe
I would like to request support for morph target animation (also known as shape keys or blend shapes) when importing GLB/glTF files into After Effects.Use Case:In common 3D workflows (e.g. Blender → GLB → After Effects), character animation often combines:Armature (bone-based) animation for body movement Morph target (shape key) animation for facial expressions (e.g. blinking, mouth movement)Currently, After Effects imports and plays armature animation correctly, but does not play morph target animation, even when it is properly included in the GLB file.Expected Behaviour:When importing a GLB file containing morph target animation:Shape key animation should be recognized and played alongside armature animation Morph target keyframes should be evaluated over time, similar to how they function in Blender or other glTF viewers Ideally, morph target channels could be exposed for further control within After EffectsActual Behaviour:GLB imports successfully Armature animation plays correctly
I'm trying to import a glb file which has vertex animation created in Blender.Following are the kinds of animation I tested but didn't work in Ae:- Animated modifiers like Simple deform (Bend).- Object deformed by traveling on a bezier curve.- Object with shapeKeys.
Hi, I wanted to ask, why sometimes the inserted expression is not visible? For this example, yesterday, I added expression to this layer and today I would like to adjust some settings, but I can see only TimeRemap and not the expression, even though the expression is still working. I’v tried to click on everything I could to open it, but nothing
If I create a Mask or Shape with the Pen Tool in RotoBezier Mode and after that I add any effect to that layer (I added a 4-Color Gradient effect) the RotoBezier mask changes. Deleting the effect doesn't revert the mask to the former shape. The more I move the mask handles around, the funkier it gets.
I have been using Adobe products for about 5 months and I am concerned about the question why the right mouse click to select a tool does not work? It works correctly in Photoshop, Illustrator but does not work in AE. This did not happen today or yesterday, it has not worked all this time. Is this a problem with my laptop or does it need to be enabled somewhere in the settings?System info OS: macOS v26.3.1, RAM: 32,00 GB GB, CPUs (logical): 10
By default, Layer Markers are locked to layer - it will be good to have options for - - lockedToLayer - and lockedToTime This will be great for music/VO spotting. And there should be a visual difference in the Timeline - perhaps something similar to the small strip at the start/end of a layer stem that demarcates its true start/end.
Layer & Comp Markers provide critical Timeline navigation instruments but they can clutter the timeline and even worse, inadvertently cover/hide layer in-outpoints or Work Area start/end points. Being able to control the transparency of the Container/Icon and the comment separately will be really good while also giving the app a modern look. Their settings can be placed in the Labels Prefs Dialog with 20% being the lowest, allowed selection to prevent ‘accidents’.
Buenos dias!
Is it possible to duplicate this composition window? I want to move this graphic to 2nd monitor while graphic in the main monitor is intact?
I'd like to extend my composition by basically shifting everything after a point by a defined duration... is there a way to do this? Similarly, I imagine there could be cases where I'd want to 'cut out' a range of time.
For Rectangles, we can define corner roundness, but, unfortunately for Polystars, this is not available. The Polystar features ‘Roundness’ which is nice, but something else. (add that to Rectangle!)
Proportional scrubbing and offset don’t work for properties and keys inside shape groups. Which is a shame. I use shapegroups if I don’t want to clutter my timeline or when I want to use one compound shape layer as a matte. Often these contain animated properties that would benefit mucho from the new proportional offset and scrubbing behavior. I guess this could benefit you too!
I've updated After Effects to version 25.0.1, and now the color picker/eyedropper tool isn't picking the correct colors for shapes, text, etc. It’s close, but the hex codes don’t match exactly.I'm selecting colors from the Library window within After Effects. When I change the setting in After Effects > Preferences > General > system color picker, it does pick the correct color. However, I’d prefer not to use the system color picker—I want to use the default one. This issue didn’t occur in the previous 2024 version of After Effects, where everything worked perfectly with the same project color settings and color management.Has anyone else experienced this or found a solution?
After updating After Effects from 25.6.4 to 26.0 - there is really undesirable and stopper bug with exporting shapes with color gradients through Bodymovin plugin.
When adding a light, the environment changes to just show whats lit leaving everything else in black shadow. I want to change the shadow color to a sky blue so it looks like the objects are in an infinite blue space. While still having the use of the light. What’s a good work around/solution to this? I’ve added a blue solid in the background to show what I’m going for.
I’m not very impressed with the new format. Precise dates are missing from older posts, many of my replies, and conversations are not visible. I don’t care for the partial image preview when you share images or screenshots. The create a post system requires way too many steps to create a thread, and the Category section requires a bunch of scrolling when creating a new post, and the options are not in alphabetical order. More clicks, more scrolling, and it’s not as easy to find threads you were working on. Still needs more work. I know this post is not about After Effects, but I can't find a category for the forum… There used to be one.
Hi..I have a composition that has 3d elements (OBJ files exported from Autodesk Fusion)…. nothing too complex.. I don’t think, anyway.I am working w/ three monitors. After Effects on one where I primarily have my timeline full screen.2nd screen has my 4 camera views.3rd screen is used for other stuff.. e.g., Chrome, Slack, etc. Inconsistently, but regularly, scrubbing the playhead position on the timeline will cause After Effects to stop responding… looking at Windows Task Manager, I can see that it is still plugging away, CPU <20%, memory ranges depending on what I’m doing, but changes periodically tell me that it’s still breathing.I can hang like that for minutes… sometimes a few, sometimes 20 or so.. How do I determine what the root cause is? I’ve tried various suggestions I’ve found online.. nothing really seems to make a difference… aside from avoiding scrubbing in the timeline.
