Hello,I used to be able to add markers using the * key on my number pad while listening to an audio preview that was generated when I hit the . key. Now when I create a preview the cursor does not travel in real-time along with the audio. It goes slower. So when I try to add a marker, the marker is not correctly added on the time-line at that moment I want. Another issue is that when I create a preview, it loops and loops and loops. It seams that hitting the space bar to try to stop it does not have an immediate effect like it used to. Now it takes my computer a really long time to realize that I've hit a key to stop the preview. I've also noticed that my keyboard is not as responsive as it is in other programs. When using the type tool in AE, I'll have to type very slowly, almost like 1 character per second. Hi everyone,I'm experiencing a frustrating issue in After Effects. When I'm working in the Composition panel—say, drawing a shape like a rectangle—the mouse cursor lags behind slightly. It feels delayed and unresponsive, almost like it's dragging. This makes precise work really difficult.The strange part is that I have a fairly goodPC (Radeon 6800, ryzon 5800x, 32 GB Ram)  so performance shouldn't be an issue. I've already tried reducing the preview resolution and closing other background programs, but the problem persists.Has anyone experienced something similar? Could it be related to GPU settings, drivers, or something in After Effects preferences?Any help would be greatly appreciated!Thanks in advance!

Im animated a knitting simulation. The needle needs to be obscured by the grooves and the cylinder as it rotates. But as you can see it is not. Seems like simple geometry, any ideas on how to fix? These are models that were built in blender. Im using the advanced renderer because seems like this is the only renderer that supports 3d model imports. Need urgent help please. A project file that I am currently selling in a marketplace is now BROKEN in After Effects 2024 / 2025. It was created using AE 2020 / 2023, and still works fine in those versions. I've spent many hours trying to figure it out, and not many answers. The project is essentially a flip board, with a series of tiles that have a Start set of text animating to reveal an End set of text. It works great as designed in AE 2023, but in AE 2024/2025 the text in the tiles goes all wrong: the wrong letters appear in the tiles at seemingly random times; even empty tiles that should contain no letters will show letters in some frames. Or, letters will disappear then reappear.  Using a Purge > Memory & Disk Cache seems to shuffle the problematic results. So it seems that the glitches are fairly random, and a cache purge will produce different problematic results. I've provided a stripped-down version of the project with text already inserte

Hi all,some strange problem occured recently using After Effects 25.2.2. When i try to overlay Footage (Gold Particles on black background) using add or screen mode for example., the Black part of the Footage is darkening the layers below. No 3D layers involved. Did anything change recently in how those modes work?Thanks in advance!

I cannot generate previews in both recent versions of Adobe Premiere and AE. I get 1-5 minutes of edit time, then they freeze or the window turns black, and then I get a pinwheel. Hi, I've been having a problem where I flat out can not use my 4 brush related tools in my toolbar in AE (desktop). I get no error code, it's simply when I click on either brush tool, clone stamp tool, rotobrush, or eraser tool, it will not change my cursor to that tool and doesn't work as if it is either, every other tool works. Using the keyboard shortcuts does not do anything different.  It acts as if they don't exist and clicking them only highlights the tool in the toolbar but nothing else. I've tried new compositions, updating, restarting, uninstalling, new workspaces, reset preferences, driver updates and probably more I cant think of. I'm aware that brush tools can only be used in the original layer source panel by double clicking on the clip, still doesnt work. If anyone has a way to fix this I need it desperately. Thanks.

Every time I open this one specific project it plays only half of it then completely freezes and won't preview any more, it also crashes every time I try to save. I've tried disabling my plugins, it doesn't help, and this doesn't seem to be happening in my projects which do use plugins, only this one project. It was working just fine and then it just suddenly stopped working. I've tried everything: changing my audio output, clearing all my cache's, disabling plugins, checking if I have any old ae apps downloaded, and literally nothing works so I've came here to try and see if anyone can help.Only happens in one project and it is so annoying, I'd much rather not have to redo all my hours of work. Please give some ideas on what could help, thanks! 

Specifically, the Opactiy Animator property does not interpolate/animate between selected and unselected states and vice versa. Hello,I'm working on a very large image (16,000 * 2,000 px) and I'm having a problem displaying my layers to which the "Wave Warp" effect is applied:when I work in "half" resolution everything is normal, but when I switch to full resolution, all these layers disappear both from the after display and from the exports. Do you have a solution to this problem? Thanks in advance

the program crash my tablet and after effects as well at the same time I have to reset the pc in order to keep working it does it randomly when ever I click on a value on the left side panel ( effect controls) it does not really matter what effect I'm using.

I've had this problem since the first version 25 of AE but it still hasn't been fixed and I haven't read anything about this anywhere yet, so I am wondering if this is a common problem for others or just me? If someone else has this problem, did anyone ever figure out a solution? Could it be a plugin, preset or menu option that does this? I attatched a video showing this problem. It never happened before this version and suddenly is always there.

After effects will not open. My device meets the requirments to use After effects and all of the other adobe apps I have work fine e.g illustrator,photoshop,Premier pro but one day after effects stopped working. This was nearly 2 months ago The splash screen will load then disapper or The splash screen will glitch and not allow me to close it meaning I have to use task manager to close it - photo of the second outcome attached. It gives me options to start in safe mode or reset prefernces but none of these options work and I do not have any plugins installed  I have repeatedly uninstalled and reinstalled and even updated to the latest version v25.2.2 However even switching to older versions does not work. Here are my system specs - Processor 11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-1165G7 @ 2.80GHz 2.80 GHzInstalled RAM 20.0 GB (19.8 GB usable)System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor I have even tried the Beta AE but it still will not work&n

Hi, please help!After Effects crashes on launch. Happens both on my mac studio, and on my macbook pro.See attached screenshot for error. I just updated AE to 2025.2 and opened my project, the lumetri scopes now interpret my footage with WAY overblown values. I render/composite/output in HDR on an SDR monitor and rely on the scopes to work on my content, now it is useless: I've tried changing all the settings to try and get it to display the accurate data. For the record, this is how the Lumetri scopes is supposed to interpret the same file, from AE 2024:Please fix this, I absolutely need to get this to be working right again.

I am trying to export animation as a MOGRT file. But when ı press "Export Motion Graphics Template" button this error pops up.

Pls helpIt's like 3 fps when i move my elements around. Other parts of after effects runs smooth like when i hover my mouse on the project bin, but when i hover my mouse on the main screen it stutters so bad. I just bought a new rx6600 gpu (upgraded from rx580) and it somehow performs worse than the older one. Using Camera Lens Blur with a Z-depth map causes unwanted halos or blur around edges that should be in focus.This issue has been around for years!

I'm facing this issue while opening my project, please help anyone to how to resolve this and open my project file.
