After Effects

Here's a screenshot of an AE sequence with only 2 shape layers and one solid with a mask. Note the amount of RAM it took. 56 GBs for three basic layers?! In a FHD project?!!! What is going on?  I made a 5 minutes motion graphics project in the previous but one version and it only took 45 GBs.

 I'm trying to set multiple linear() ramps (in this case to set opacity) at various points in a song..my expressions seem to be creating the arrays as expected... but I am not getting the expected results for the resulting post-expression graph... Pretty simple problem here, but maybe without a simple solution. I have a large collection of short (~5 seconds or less) clips (~300 in total), and need to apply pixel motion blur to all of them.The problem is that pixel motion blur creates a massive volume of cached data (several GB for a 5s clip). So I need an automated solution to: loop through each clipapply pixel motion blurrender the clip outclear the cachemove on to the next clipI could do this manually, but it would take absolutely forever.I tried to automate the process with AE scripting in JavaScript, but it seems that pixel motion blur in particular cannot be applied in a scripting environment (?)Any suggestions?

When I copy Position keyframes from one layer to another in After Effects, the anchor point on the target layer also changes to match the anchor point of the original layer. I only want to transfer the motion, not the anchor point settings.I’ve seen the same issue mentioned in a YouTube video, but no solution was provided.Can someone explain why this happens or how to copy motion without affecting the anchor point? Hey everyone,I’m running into a pretty time consuming rendering issue and wanted to ask if anyone has dealt with something similar before. I have an particle effect that uses Trapcode Particular combined with Echo to create particle trails. The look is perfect, but the render times are absolutely insane. For example 2 minute 16 seconds of a footage takes about whooping 3 hours to render sometimes even longer. Here it is basically how it looks like:  Particle trails created by increasing Wind in Particular, and Echo is what makes them dotted like this. I tried pre-rendering the particles first and then applying Echo, but it doesn’t produce the same result. I also tested alternatives like CC Time Blend etc. but none of them matched Echo’s look either. Are there any tricks to make Echo faster with particle systems? or is there any plugin that behaves like Echo but renders faster? For the record I’ve also tested the same project on friends systems (i have GTX 1650 Ti, they have RTX 3060 Ti

When linking layers to a null controller via the Parent pickwhip, the layers disappear. I'm using AE 25.6. This has never occurred in previous versions for me. I noticed similar earlier posts about this glitch and the issue was that the user was connecting to the null via the Track Matte pickwhip. I am using the Parent pickwhip. Can someone suggest why this is happening? Thanks!!

Hi!I'm trying to make a line that is marching ants from point a to point b but no matter what I do to the offset it looks as though the dotted line grows from each individual dot. See video below and notice the first few dots as it moves. I really want just a smooth constant and consistant movement. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hello, this is my first time writing a message like this, but it's also the first time I've been unable to solve this problem. I will briefly describe my task so that you are aware of the situation. My client wants us to use 3D on a phone to present the features of their application. I am purchasing the 3D from Envato. Everything is fine, but I want to put some brand elements under the phones themselves and I can't because each 3D model has a background that I can only change, but I can't remove. I am attaching screenshots, and I can upload more, but I would be grateful if anyone has done something similar and managed to solve this issue. Thank you in advance.

Is anyone else experiencing difficulties building the GPU sample on a Mac (M3 with Xcode 16) for SDK_Invert_ProcAmp?The log indicates an issue with SDK_Invert_ProcAmp_Kernel.metal.h issue the file looks incomplete, which might be related to Boost or the Python version, although I'm quite sure both are set up correctly.If anyone has suggestions in general, especially for an OpenGL workflow,I’d really appreciate your advice. hi all, i have a distorted (glitchy effect) video. (displace pro plug-in , the displacement map is taken from  a "old glitchy VHS video" resource, it alters the video by luminance/hue)i would like that the sound also be "glitchy" as well, in sync with the glitched video. want to use the Modulation effect on the audio layer, but i need a number value to link it to the parameters of the effect so the sound is altered when the video is slightly/very glitchy. so i figured - if i can get a number value from an expression that calculates the difference between the original video footage and the final glitchy video footage - i could link that number to the Modulation parameters and the desired effect would be obtained. so, can anyone tel me how to write that expression? number = orig_layer - glitched_layer ? would so much appreciate this. i mean the internet is filled with "how to make video react to sound" but not 1 answer about the other way around.ai

hey, does anyone know if theres any way to download ae 22? i currently have an ae 25 subscription but i also want ae 22 since it has the theme colorization (i know stupid reason) but theres not an option to install that version in the creative cloud app

Hello, I am having issues and it's honestly the same issue that has happened a few times this year. I don't even remember how I solved it and now it's come to a point where I absolutely do not have the time to troubleshoot this anymore.  I have attempted to fix this myself by installing different versions of after effects to see if that would help change this issue and had zero success. Here's the issue:  every time I try to import into after effects, which I will sometimes either double click in the project space window or manually select file to import or sometimes even try to hit command + i.  I've been using after effects for the past 17 years so I am a seasoned veteran.   Macbook ProChip - Apple M4 ProMemory - 48 GBI would also like to note that the company I work for uses SharePoint (sharePoint has given me many issues and I'm not sure if that is the reason why this is happening).  I even tried at one point to disconnect from

Im trying to post something to instagram in a carosel with three slides. When I export the artboards from illustrator to my phone to post on instagram it's seemless. But i want to add a video from after effects. So I upload each individual artboard from illustrator into illustrator from after effects, place the video then over to media encoder. But after i've air dropped them to my phone and try to upload to illustrator they dont line up correctly. They look fine in the preview but not on the actual post. Any ideas? Hello, I'm having trouble dragging and dropping files from file explorer to after effects. I tried to drag and drop files with the correct format but I can't import them into after effects. I've checked whether after effects is running in run administrator, but after effects is running normally, not in administrator. Now I can only import files using ctrl + i and it's really slowing me down in my work. Please help me.

I have a project where there are multiple styling layers that all share the same path referenced by a blue shape layer in this example I have an orange shape layer that has strokes and trim paths (stylization), beneath this layer there is a reference path layer that should be used on orange only as a path. Now in this exact case I can just copy the rectangle path and paste it into the orange layer (which is what I actually did) but lets say I have 100 of these stylization layers and copying the path to all of them one by one seems a little bit time consuming. And the idea of having to re-copy all of it when I make the slightest change to the reference path doesn't amuse me too. So the possible solution would be to create a path on an orange layer and make an expression likepath = thisComp.layer("REFERENCE LAYER").content("Group 1").content("Path 1").path;But if I want to do that I need to merge all my contents in the reference layer into one path. Macbook Pro 2021 14 inchChip: Apple M1 MaxMemory: 64GBmacOS Tahoe 26.1After Effects V25.6.0 I am having a green flickering and gllitching issue in After Effects which I have not had previously. I have attached an example - just moving a shape using the position tool sometimes creates a green flash/glitch. I am not using any video assets, just moving PNGs and shapes/masks with position keyframing. I have attached an example - it may be hard to see on first view but at it's worst from 00:01-00:02 and 0:11 - 0:13 and can be seen clearly when slowed down or dragging through the keyframes. I ahve also attached my composition settings.It appears on the actual composition working file, not just after exporting it. I have tried the following from similar threads from years ago and none have worked so far:- Disabled both "display > hardware accelerated decoding" and "import > hardware accelerate composition layer and footage panels"- Switched between Mercury Software Only and Mercury
