After Effects

Hello,I recently updated AE to the 2025 version.I opened a file, made some edits, previewed the video a few times (clicked space bar), it worked great.Made some more changes, clicked the space bar again, the hand tool was being selected then deselected when I clicked and released space bar.And the video stopped previewing (even when I moved the "curser" thing manually along the video or when I clicked "play" in the preview window).I saved the file (it seemed to have saved well) and tried exiting the program, when I did AE stopped responding. I force quitted it and re-opened the file it my changes after the space bar stoped responding were not made. 

Maybe I'm a fool for asking this question; nothing is at 100% in the Task Manager, and After Effects can't rotoscope and freeze-frame faster.

I have a comp with 51 shape layers & lots of expressions, which makes After Effects lag a lot (as usual), BUT it's worse in Ae2023 than previous versions.To show the issue, I've made these two GIFs, from Ae2021 and Ae2023, to show how long it takes to just deselect all the layers.The click is shown by a yellow circle under the mouse cursor at the beginning. The first one is Ae 2021, and the delay between the click and the actual deselection is already quite annoying, I've measured it to be 1.5s (I've run the test several times to get the average time)The second one is Ae 2023, the delay is 2.5s. I just can't work anymore with After Effects with this lag, it's just a no-go, and I'm going to recommend to everyone to not update if they're going to work with Duik. One just can't work correctly with that.If it lags so much for simple actions like (de)selection, just imagine how painful it is to precisely adjust any value. IMHO it is more than urgent that After Effects lags lik

Hi, I would like to come up with weird Pen tool bug I have just encountered.  I was trying to make a mask around a character, and the Pen tool didn't create mask point on the cursor location, instead it kept adding all mask points in the same spot (where I clicked for first time) and only way to extend the mask was to click and holt the mouse button.  As mentioned in the post bellow, the solution was to delete scaling keyframes - when deleted, Pen tool started to act normally again - but after adding keyframes back, Pen tool acted wierdly again. I guess it has to be a bug - I don't have any idea what would be this helpful for - and since this bug was recorded 6 years ago and it still appears, I would like to point on it, because it can be very frustrating for users that don't know the "delete keyframes solution" Here is the screen recording (sorry for the music, I had Spotify on with some Discover weekly stuff going on 😄 ) - https://drive.goog

Reloading .exr footage does not update any multipass layers. You need to close and reopen AE for the extractor layers to update.

Hello guys,I have installed Cinema 4D Lite Add-Ons, but it appears to be error when I tried to open it. I have tried:- Reinstalling After Effects 2025.1 (Including Add-Ons)- Restarting My Macbook Pro M2 Max- Adding Cineware to Layer, but it didn't work.- Checking After Effects Add-Ons on Creative Cloud app. It appears that Cinema 4D already installed. But I can't open in After Effects 2025.1.Nothing works. Please help me. I attatch some of messages error.I am using After Effects 2025.1 (newest version as per 17 November 2024) and Macbook Pro M2 Max.Thankyou so much.

I'd like to report a bug. When 3D Channel -> Cryptomatte plugin is active the Hand Tool is not working which to me is very annoying. In this particular EXR I've got plenty of objects and I'd like to use the hand tool to pan around the viewport to select the ones I need for matte. It also doesn't work when pressing SPACE. However, when click off to deselect Cryptomatte plugin, Hand Tool works so I can move around in the viewport but I feel this is an unnecessary additional step just to find the objects I'm looking for. The Preview in After Effects looks different than my actual render.  Preview:                                                                             Render:  I have a 3D-Render (EXR-sequence) imported. I changed the project settings for colour in After Effects to the same outputs as I have in Maya. So the Render in After Effects would look exactly the same like in Maya. Hello, I'm kinda desperate here ... I'm using adobe since years and it never been stable to me. My mac computer was near death and couldnt handle after effect anymore i bought 3 months ago a 6000$ computer :Processeur Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-14900KF 3.20 GHzMémoire RAM installée 128 Go DDR5RTX 4090 NVIDIA2To Cache SSD  And still as soon as i put Pixel motion AE, the project crashes immediatly, i even have Blue screen of death. Exactly the same on my mac that is 7 years old ! 3 type of crash for the same effect : - Blue screen of death- No error just crashing without a word- some error  I've tried several fix online, clean install, preference setting, preview settings etc etc none of them work. Job that should take few minutes can take days because of this. 

The program doesn't indicate the correct location of the saved file.Hi, in short – I have a file saved in the "XYZ" folder on the D drive. When I open it and try to save the file again using the "Save as..." option, it doesn't show the destination folder where the file is saved. Instead, it shows the last file opened with After Effects.I'd like to add that something must have changed after the update because it worked fine for years. Other applications like Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign work correctly in this regard. Is there any way to restore the functionality so that the "Save As" option points to the folder where the file I'm currently working on is saved?

After Effects versions 25.0.1 and 24.6.3 both have the same issue. When I put Lumetri Color to video the following error appears:After Effects warning: Invalid menu operation. Then when trying to do anything another error comes: After Effects error internal verification failure, sorry! {invalid index in indexed group} The 2nd window needs to hit ok about 50 times for get it off. The Lumetri Color doesn't work. I haven't had this error ever before. It appered yesterday. I managed to use Lumetri Color perfectly in start of November or at least in end of October.I read that this have happened before in 2020, 2022 and 2023. The solution was new NVIDIA drivers. My GPU is GTX 1080 ti and the driver is v566.14 (Nov 12, 2024), which is newest. It might be the problem this time also. I had older drivers when Lumetri Color worked. I have also updated After Effects every time it is possible. Anyone knows what to do? Or do I just need to stop working and wait for the

Steps to reproduce:    1. I opened a project I had been working on yesterday and today imported new footage.Result: After the footage imported, I began seeing the spinning beach ball any time I clicked on any menu. This freezing up lasts about a minute or two... Very disruptive. I had to force quit multiple times. Cleared my prefrences and cache... I created an intro for a client, I used this intro yesterday and did not have this issue. Its basically a template I created and I can change the videos in the template when needed. After export a strange vertical transparent white line appears down my video. I have attatched pictures so you can see what I mean. 

@DaciaSaenz  I've an issue with large distances/scales, which is often the case in Google Earth Studio. Depending on the render engines, even shape layers don’t display, and for 3D object models, I have to disable collapse transformations, then they only appear in the Classic 3D and Cinema 4D engines     Using reasonable distances/scales: Best renderer -> Advanced 3D             Using large distances/scales: Best renderer -> Cinema 4D         * For large distances/scales, I have to disable collapse transformations on the 3D object, which I don’t need to do for reasonable distances/scales.

Every time I go to launch After Effects on my MacBook Pro, it will not stay open for longer than a second and immediately closes without any crash or error notifications. I have tried many different things like uninstalling and reinstalling, launching in safe mode, resetting preferences, restarting the laptop, etc. Nothing seems to fix the problem. I have no plugins installed and have fully updated my Mac. Any suggestions would be really appreciated as I am in an After Effects class and need to get homework done, but cannot continue without fixing this issue.

When I work in Premiere and in AfterEffects making vertically formatted videos for TikTok, I have to change the size and position of the clip. Lately, when I export the video, for one frame, the clip moves back to its original position, thus creating a jerky motion. This happens for every clip in a video, so exported it looks really choppy when watching the clips in succession.I tried exporting directly from AE instead of using the Media Encoder, and the problem still persists. Does anytone know why this is happening?

When I try to animate regular English text using Animation Composer or expressions on animator properties, it works smoothly. However, when I try animating RTL text (Arabic or Hebrew), there are some glitches at the beginning of the animation, but the rest of it works fine.Also, when I reset the paragraph, the text refreshes and goes back to normal (as shown in the video).The strange thing is that when I animate the text with keyframes instead of expressions, it works 100% smoothly without any glitches.I'm using After Effects 2024.My device specs are: Xeon E5 2690 v3, GTX 1060 6GB, 16GB RAM, 256GB SSD, running Windows 11.

TLDR:This is nothing new and my intention / hope is that someone at Adobe actually sees this so this will finally be fixed. Unintended Behaviour:As soon as I run AfterEffects it creates a folder called 'Adobe' inside the user's Documents Folder.There is no way to change the location where this folder gets created. There is no reason why this should be in the user's Documents folder in the first place.This should simply be with all the other application support files, where it belongs, not where the user stores their personal documents. why this is a Problem:I spend a lot of time making sure my file system (especially and more than any other my Documents folder) is as clean and organized as possible.Yet without any way to change it this folder gets dumped into my very neat and organized folder and it is plainly infuriating.I literally have the options to:a) delete the folder every time I'm done with using AfterEffects (or a number of other Adboe apps with the exact same behavi

Unfortunately, Adobe After Effects no longer starts after the last update.
