After Effects

Current behaviour:Manual selection with Mouse = displays layer Info in the Info Panel(This is very cool)Switching to the next layer above or below with a keyboard shortcut = Does not Update Info Panel. Expected Behaviour:When a layer is selected the Info panel always shows its information. Why this matters:Cycling through layers using keyboard shortcut and the info being displayed in the Info panel is a fast way of assessing and choosing layers, especially if they do not have meaningful names ThanksTris (P.S. when will keyboard shortcut moveing the timeline to Layer In and Out properly update the timeline marker? This has been a bug for a decade!)When are you going to stop forcing me to tag and remove the title character limit!? 

I've never had this problem before so I'm a bit lost to whats caused it. When I try to use a 3D layer and I select the layer my composition displays this.And if I rotate it and unselect the layer, it becomes distorted like this I've tried to find other people who have this problem but their "solutions" don't seem to overlap with mine. I've got classic 3D on, active camera and 1 view- which seemed to fix similar issues. I'm not really sure what to do.

I've been using After Effects 25.1 recently and noticed a recurring issue when importing .mp3 files—they often get automatically truncated. For instance, a 30-second audio file might only import the first 5 seconds. Even after clearing the cache or renaming the file and re-importing, the problem still occurs. To work around this, I’ve had to re-export the audio through Audition before importing it back into AE, which resolves the issue. Is this a known bug in this version?

Hi, dear community, I'm familiarizing myself (sloooowly) with various TRACKING methods in AE.(Yes, MOCHA is by far the most reliable tool, but still ...)After running 'TRACK CAMERA', when I- draw a shape layer onto an object (frame around a monitor)- and then toggle the layer as a '3D layer' --> it jumps to the right (see attached video). I have already tried centering the anchor point in the shape; to no avail.The footage / clip in the COMP is not scaled in any way.  Many, many thanks in advance & with my very best greetings from Switzerland,Sandro 

When I import my video into AE & drag it into my composition, for some reason background sounds eg music, other diegetic sounds are audible but the actual dialogue from the scene is somehow muted. Does anyone know how I can fix this? I was thinking it could be a compatibility issue / problem with AE compressing audio as maybe the file is too large. Any help appreciated

I’m currently working in a private company as a video editor, and one of our clients recently approached us with a project for their website https://newtoki.com.co/ since this is a webtoon platform, that edit involves long vertical panels with smooth scrolling and gradient backgrounds. The issue I’m facing is unusual: gradients that look perfectly fine in the After Effects preview show heavy banding and even flicker once exported. This happens in both H.264 and ProRes, and it’s especially noticeable in soft sky tones or dark-to-light transitions. I’ve tried higher bitrates, switching to 16/32-bit color, and even exporting image sequences, but the problem still appears. What makes it trickier is that not all panels are affected some render cleanly, while others with the same settings show the banding. Since webtoon edits rely heavily on large gradient areas, this artifact really breaks the flow and makes the final output look unpolished. Has anyone else run into this

hello everyone, I downloaded a template which has only 15 secs composition time. i already extened it to 36 seconds, as long as my video is but I cannot drag the layers to the right:  I found a way on youtube to hit a layer and press CTRL+ALT+T and then I can extend it but then all the animations are very slow or dont move after 15 secs, I saw that there are keyframes where i dragged the right one to the end but now the animation of the selected layer is veeeery slow...  how can i extend all the layers and keep the settings 😕😕 i just want to have the 15 secs video/composition to be 36 secs 😞 thanks a lot

Hello, I try different effects, bu i can't found in AE how replicate the Premiere Pro conversion.The pb is that we haven't the same option to preserve saturation among luminance and others little setting ...The screencapture (sorry it's in french) shows my setting in the Premiere Pro color management panel and i want to do the same directly in AE.Is it possible to replicate this setting ?When we interprate footge in AE, we haven't got any options ...Thank you

Hi all,I'm having an incredibly frustrating issue within the AE 2025. I am trying to do a simple Audio React effect on some layers using an Audio Amplitude layer (created by Keyframe Assistant -> "Convert Audio to Keyframes" selection with the track I am using). Once I remove the Left and Right channel, and open the "Both Channels" slider that is generated, and the moment I interact with any of the slider keyframes or try to add an expression to adjust the threshhold, I get a stopwatch cursor that never goes away. I have to force quit After Effects every time. AE isn't even giving me a "Not Responding", I simply cannot click or type anything within the program. I've tried starting new files and doing the same task, and getting the same result. I've uninstalled and reinstalled After Effects, restarted my computer multiple times. No solve.  This is such a basic effect and is integral to my current project. Hi, I installed Adobe After Effects 2025 and also installed all the Cinema 4D related programs, but I still get the warning message that says "Cinema 4D 2025 must be installed in order to use the Cinema 4D renderer." How can I fix this issue?

After a few strokes using the Roto Brush tool, I get the 'AfterFX.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close' message. The clip I am trying to Rotoscope is ~12 seconds in duration, Quicktime (.MOV), and 3.6 GB. Bonjour,Lorsque je fais un "rassembler les fichiers" d'un projet. Le projet en question se ferme...et se réouvre au même endroit.Y aurait-il moyen de faire en sorte que ce soit le projet rassemblé (dossier de destination) qui s'ouvre et non le même projet (dossier d'origine) ?Merci d'avance!

I feel like something changed - in the past, if Layer A had 2 keyframes scaling from 100% down to 0 , then I added Layer B (which is defaulted at 100% scale), placed the playhead AFTER the scaling keyframes (so Layer A is gone, scaled to 0) then I parented B to A, the result would be that B would scale in tandem with A, but since the playhead was positioned after the scaling, if I went back to the first keyfram position Layer B would now start at 200% and scale down to 100 by looking at the keyframes on Layer A. This is no longer working. As soon as I parent Layer B to A, it's immediately absorbing the keyframe info and B disappears. This parenting used to depend on where the playhead was, which I found very useful.  Am I missing something? I feel like this is a new issue for me. As soon as I parent anything to a layer with existing keyframes, it's taking on the current properties regardless of playhead position

Can anyone fix this problem? Why are my colors for the layers all of the sudden dull? The red box is red but darker and the orange is orange but like a dirty brown. What the heck. I got an message about GPU and my memoery so it may have something to do with that. 

Hello,As of today, I have not been able to open AE cc 2022. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling several times and the problem still occurs. I even uninstalled my 3/9/22 Windows update to see if that would fix the problem. No luck. I have the full Adobe Package and all other apps open fine. I even tried opening AE 2022 on my laptop running Win 10 and it works fine. Not sure what else to try. Any ideas? See the error popup below. Thanks - troy 

Hi, I've been trying to make this textbox responsive but I'm stuck. I am very new to mogrts, the essential graphic panel and expressions.- The text box needs to have the exact same padding for each font size- You need to be able to change the text even if one line of text becomes 2 (and the textbox needs to expand to that new text)- When a new line of text is added the textbox need to go up, because the complete text needs to stay in the bottom left corner- Needs to be outlined to the left. (box and text) I followed a bunch of tutorials on youtube, but none of them really help me with this exact problem so please help me

Hello, I'm having an issue with the "Camera Rig" script/panel in After Effects 2025. The panel opens correctly, but it doesn't work: The camera doesn't move or focus when using the controls. I have a 3D camera in my composition. I've tried enabling "Allow scripts to write files and access the network" in Preferences → Scripting & Expressions. I've also restarted After Effects and made sure the script is in the correct folder (ScriptUI Panels). I'm not sure if this is an issue with the script, a compatibility issue with After Effects 2025, or if I'm missing a step to get it working. Could someone please guide me on how to properly configure it to control the camera? The company I work for was sold. I received a new CC license from my new company and installed Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Audition, and Premier. All the apps work except After Effects, nothing happens if you try to start Ae from CC. You get an Application error if I try to start it from Start. I will attach the error. My IT support people are telling me they can't help me as this a security issue between Adobe and Google Chrome. I am really stuck. Does anyone know anything about this and how I can get it fixed.
