Hi all, I'm working with Audition CC 2018 on windows 10. My mix is not coming back in stereo and this is a first. Every place I look says it is a stereo mix but it's not, HELP! I have been using Audition for over 10 years.
Hi there, I am considering getting a controller to help edit with audition, I looking for something inexpensive so was considering getting the SubZero MiniControl MIDI Controller. Would this work with audition?
Having watched many videos and read articles on compression, I'm not sure I still understand it. I'm working on an interview piece in Adobe Audition. It's aimed at home listening on a CD player but parts of it may also be for broadcast. Firstly, I normalised the audio to -1db. That didn't seem to bring it up as much as I thought it would. Secondly, I applied compression (see attached jpeg for settings). Added about 3db output gain to bring it up to -1db. It was peaking a lot in the red, so I reduced it to -3db. It sounds fine when I listen back on headphones (mp3 file attached). Maybe I'm approaching it in the wrong way. I switch on my stereo system, tune to talk radio and set the volume at a comfortable level. Then I switch over to the CD, not touching the volume. The CD sound is so much lower than the radio. Should I be striving to match the CD sound with the radio output at all? It's not a very scientific approach to sound production! However, maybe som
Hi all, first time posting here. I have encountered a small issue when using Auditions.I currently run and edit a small podcast, we use a Focusrite Scarlet 18i20 2nd Gen and currently use 4 professional quality mics (looking to go up to 6). I use the standard set-up of running each mic through auditions, recording onto seperate tracks. The issue I have encountered is that, when I came to edit the next episode (recorded weeks ago), there was no audio on Track 1 on the multitrack. The cursor was moving over clearly visible waveforms, and the metre input signal was moving as if there was playback.I checked the audio hardware and mapping, as well as on my device (running windows 10). Moving the audio down to Track 5 gave me perfect playback, and when I moved audio from Track 2 onto Track 1, there was no playback. So it looks like I have a playback error on Track 1. I had used part of this same recording Yesterday, and it played back fine on Track 1 then. Re-starting the software and de
I've reported this bug on the UserVoice forum but I'm just going to put it here as well in case anyone else is wasting time struggling with it! I'm using Audition 14.2.0.34 on Intel Mac When a stereo clip is on a stereo track the clip pan envelope sets the balance between the left and right channels. If the clip pan is set to L100 then you will only hear the clip's left channel. If that stereo clip is a 2 channel clip created from 2 channels of a multichannel audio file then the pan envelope will work correctly on playback but will be ignored on mixdown. To reproduce the bug:Create a new stereo multitrack sessionOpen a multichannel audio file, select two channels of that file and drag them onto a stereo track. (Depending on your settings Audition may try to put the two channels onto two different tracks, in which case hold down option as you drag)You should now have what looks like a stereo clip.Make sure "View>Show Clip Pan Envelopes" is selectedDrag the Pan Envelope
I am mixing the sound for a short film and accidentally sent a muted track from Premiere to Audition via dynamic link. I edited a bunch of other tracks and clips before realizing this track wasn't playing any sound in Audition, so I don't want to resend the entire project and lose all my work. Audition displays the waveforms and doesn't indicate that the track is muted, but it won't play any sound. Ideas?
Hi, I'm having a problem with the brush tool selection in Adobe Audition. I want to highlight a specific area to mute it a bit, but once I select the part I want to remove and press the space bar, it plays the whole track and not the selected area! I cannot hear the selected area and therefore cannot remove the specific noise! I've never had this problem, why has it started doing it now? How can it be fixed?
Hi!Audition 2021. How do I play overlapping clips in the multi-track editor at the same time? (not crossfade) This feature could be enabled in the previous version.(2018)
I have a subscription to Amazon Music HD. They allow downloads of music files in HD and ULTRA HD. HD is defined as 44.1khz 16 bit - CD quality in other words. Just out of interest, I though I'd have a go at recording the dowloaded files (encrypted and only playable through Amazon's app of course) into Audition and see how they compare to a mastered CD. I'm using "what U hear" under MME driver on my Soundblaster E5, which is supposed to record the computer's audio stream. I find that the signal level varies depending on how high I set the playback volume of the Amazon music app, so have been playing around with this. Through trial and error, it seems the only way not to register clipping in audition's level meter is to set the app volume at 60 (100 being full). The resulting waveform looks like this: Certainly doesn't look like a mastered CD! I'm surprised to see the odd peaks, although they are very short and don't result in any audible peaks when list
I have no idea where to turn to. As the title says, I bought Adobe Audition after my subscription went out, but all Adobe did was taking my money and I received no confirmation email or receipt. Where do I go to get in contact with support? I'm using the same email as before, no new account... Everything is the same but somehow I still didn't get my subscription. I don't want to pay for it again since a one-year subscription is a lot of money. Help?
As the Subject says please help, in case this is useful I'm running on a legal version of the software, not a crack, I've opened it not too long ago so I don't know what I'm doing that much as I've only watched a 20 minute tutorial. It's on the latest version and updates. Please help.
Hi All. I'm trying to edit something and I was going to use my plugin until I noticed this. The menus inside the VST and VST3 options don't show up. Look at the picture for reference.I've clicked on them, just hovered over them, everything. They just don't open. Please help.
dozens of clicks later no User Guide. a bunch of stuff i am not interested in. is it so hard to ahve a user guide on the user guide page Adobe, are you so post-care that it no longer works to have manuals and tables of contents?!
I was editing a podcast and noticed I didn't have the option to save. (but I believe after reading this software automatically saves your work) I turned my computer back on to find the skelton of the project there (all the edits/cuts) but no actual audio. I have not be able to link re link the files as they are nowhereto be found. It crossed my mind, I may have accidentally deleted them, so I installed recovery software but was not able to pull up anything! I have read online that this happens but the tips and file paths suggested have not led me to my missing files. I tested the file path by creating a new project, recording my voice and was able to find those files and re link them. Any idea on other ways to find missing audio files?
where and how does cool edit pro save my equalizer and parametric equalizer settings which i created and saved incase i installed cool edit pro in another pc and wanted to transfer my presets?
I'm using Adobe Audition CS6 on a W10 computer to burn several tracks to CD. I've entered appropriate metadata into each track's fields in the Metadata window. I then burned to audio CD. However, upon playback, the metadata does NOT appear in the player. To check, I played the CD on a device (my laptop) which I know for certain does display such metadata properly. I checked this by playing a commercial CD in the laptop, which did indeed display the metadata. What am I doing wrong? Thank you?
I was working on a 40 min long recording that was recorded across a span of 3 days. I have opened this file many times since starting the editing process and saved many times and it was working just fine.Today I sat down to work on my project and out of nowhere I start getting [Audition has encountered an error reading or writing to disk. We recomend you save and restart Audition] when I delete small bits of the audio. I decided to do as it says and save and quit. But when I restarted and opened audition I am greeted with a waveform but the spectral audio is gone. Anything I do makes the waveform update and go away too. Is there anything I can do at all?
I recently bought a new XLR mic and M-Audio Duo interface to start voice recording. I have everything hooked in properly and I can hear myself in the mic, but when I try to record in Audition, using the waveform, it only records for a few milliseconds then stops.
Has anyone found out how to change the default keyboard shortcuts in Audition 2017? I just called Adobe Technical help line and even they don't know! The man asked me to ask the Forum. I'm on Windows and want to use the old shortcuts I had on good ol' Audition 1.5, so to toggle Record..CTL + SPACEBAR. The instructions (pasted below) don't make sense. Where exactly do I click? What is this "Shortcuts For Command" menu? Where is the "Press Shortcut" box? If it's the little blue box, once you clear the old shortcut, you press the keys you need and nothing happens. Please help as I'm a VO using these fast shortcuts all day. THANKS!THIS IS WHAT IS SAYS ON THE HELP SHEET:Choose Edit > Keyboard Shortcuts. In the Command column, select the command you want to customize. If you want to replace or remove an existing shortcut, choose it from the Shortcuts For Command menu.Do any of the following:To create a shortcut, c
I am hoping to find an answer here as I assume there are many professionals on these forums who may have run into this issue before. While editing a video I noticed a very high frequency whine that could be heard behind the dialogue of the subjects. I opened the audio file in Audition and found a narrow band of variable frequencies in the 40k hz range. While in Audition, this whine could not be heard, which makes sense since 40k hz is well beyond human hearing. I deleted that band of audio and playback was fine afterward.I don't want to stop there, though. I want to know if anyone knows what could cause this issue at all, just in case there is a way I can avoid it in the future.
Hello,I'm making a podcast and trying to insert a short separate audio clip with me asking a question into another recording (with the interviewee answering to my questions). How do I do it?
My computer hard drive froze and was unsavable. I put in my disc for Audition 3 with all the serial numbers. Now they won't give my the activation code! I paid a lot of money and don't have the resources to keep purchasing new, when I on don't need the new stuff. Audition 3 worked just fine for my purposes.
I'd love to learn to program two separate macro functions for easier beginning and end trimming.1. Delete everything to the left of my cursor selection2. Delete everything to the right of my cursor selectionAny of you already do this? Please let me know. Thanks.
