Captivate

Anyone else come across an issue where Captivate crashes when trying to add a bookmark?   I've been able to add the bookmark here but I'm now unable to move in the timeline or to another slide without the software having a meltdown.  If I click the trash icon, my bookmark is removed and I can navigate around the software okay again, as if when I add the bookmark, the software stops responding.  Appreciate any support with this,  Thanks, Paul 🙂    

 I want to develop pods for use in our online classrooms we host through Adobe connect. I know that the pods you can load in can pull information from Adobe connect. The booster game pulls peoples names. The activity tracker pulls people's inactivity. I would like to know what all public variables are there that we can access and have a published course pull so I can brainstorm pod activities that we can use.

I understand in SCORM 2004 that being able to specify completion and success criteria separately means that I can set a course so that it can be marked as completed unsuccessfully if a user has taken it but had 'deferred success' (i.e. failed ) based on slide views and/or the quiz status. It helps the instructor to distinguish completion from comprehension/superficial from deep engagement (assuming the quiz is suitably searching).I assume therefore that if I am creating a course that does not have a quiz but I want to report if it has been completed or not I only need to set the completion criteria in CP9. Is that correct, or should I set the completion and success criteria to be the same (i.e. x% slide views)? It might not make much difference but I would like to know what is best practice.TIA

Hi. Captivate 2019 still has the ability to create Rollover Images, but I can't save the file as an HTML because this is considered swf functionality. What can I use instead? Thanks.

Hello, I am using a dummy course in Captivate and posting to an LMS. I am using Scorm 2004 2nd ed. If the user clicks the LMSs Next Lesson button before the current sco is complete, they get a LMS communication error. In the Browsers Developer tools all I get after is cannot communicate with the LMS. Does anyone know of a workaround or solution?* I don't think it's a Captivate issue, because I've seen it happen with other courses.

I am using Adobe Captivate 2019 and have insertted YouTube videos into my presentation. When exported as a SCORM files, these videos will not play in Google Chrome. However, I tested them in FireFox and they play just fine. Any possible remedies to this?

I'm trying to use the "Send for Shared Review" option under "File" to share files using my internal server. When I click the check box to send an email and proceed using the "email" button it *looks* like it works, but I don't receive the email (I used a couple of my own addresses to test it out). I have my email address in the General Settings under Project Info, so it shouldn't be because of that. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

I have a bulleted list where one of the lines of text is a different color than the rest. This changes the bullet color to match the text. How do I make it so the bullet is black like the rest, but the text is green?

I have Captivate 11.5 and just started using the Creative Cloud to work with the videos. I just got my PC upgraded to Windows 11.I added closed captions to a video in Premiere. The video is over 2 hours long.I need to create a SCORM with that video.  I went to Captivate and created a 5 slide course.  The last slide is the video.Problem: I tried adding the video using the Event Video and the Slide Video.  Either way, when I preview the slide it does not show up.I made sure the last slide was the length of the video. The video is set to Autoplay. With the Pause Slide until the end of the video, I've tried it both ways (checked and unchecked).I've read some hints that said to publish it but i get an error saying the file is not found. The link shown adds extra stuff to the path ((path to video)\vr\Vi1.mp4)When I added the Creative Cloud, the Media Encoder upgraded to the latest version. Could that be causing the problem? Can I have more than 1 Media Encoder?Any help will be

I'm new to Captivate and am at a new job. My supervisor has asked me to use Reviewer to share my Captivate files so she can see what they look like when the learner takes a course. Looks like Adobe Reviewer (Adobe Air?) was transitioned over from Adobe to another company (see here: https://blog.adobe.com/en/publish/2019/05/30/the-future-of-adobe-air). Before I spend any more time than I already have trying to install it, can people even still use Reviewer/Adobe Air to review Captivate files, or is it now outdated? I believe it has been a while since my team used it. Thanks in advance!

Hi All,I have a button on a slide with an advanced action attached. I would like to trigger this button when entering the slide i.e. the button automatically gets clicked on slide entry if conditions are met (As advanced actions attached to "On Enter"). I have used cpExtra xcmndCallActionOn but it is not working as attached.

Hi, I am about to loosing it.I can't drag the handle on the text caption box in a fluid box. I just mark the fluid box. I can't get hold of the handle to resize the text box.How hard can it be??? 

Hi, the answer in my previous Discussion worked fine with a simple calculation (3 buttons), so I tried the same with 4 buttons. However, I failed... The variables for the 4 buttons have the value "1".Each button has an advanced action to change state and variable, I have added the screenshot of the advanced action für button "Druck_TF". There are many right answers:A x B = C x DorB x A = D x CorC x D = A x B... If the 4 states of the 4 buttons would set the variables correctly, and the "Senden"-Button would calculate properly, both sides of the "=" should be equal to "5" (1+4 or 2+3). Any idea what I got wrong? Building an E-learning project and attempting to publish it but for some reason, It works completely when I use the F11 option and not at all when published to a computer. Help

Hoping to find some clues about what's happening. I made two custom LMS projects for a client - custom meaning I designed stuff in Photoshop then brought it into Captivate. So I'm not using a bunch of Captivate functions, other than buttons and Advanced Actions. I have a few videos throughout. The interesting thing is the larger Module (Module 01) is a larger file size, has more assets, and has reporting at the end. And it isn't giving that error at all. It works fine. So Module 02 is the one we're having issues with - and it's significantly smaller and less complex. So I don't think it's a file size issue. On my end, I can import the ZIP output into a LMS viewer (Review my eLearning) and it works just fine. So I'm just at a loss to figure out why it's working for us, but as soon as they try to import it to their system, it's not working and giving back a generic "Bad Request" error. I'm trying to figure out why system they're using to host/upload these outputs to, but f

I'm a new Captivate user and I have an issue with a specific hyperlink. I'm on a PC using Chrome as my browser. I inserted the link by highlighting text on a slide and chosing the option to make it a hyperlink. Then I inserted the URL. When I preview the slide and click on the link, I get a 404 page missing error. It doesn't do this with other links. When I copy the URL I entered in Captivate and paste it directly into a browser it works, so I know the link address is correct. I have created a file, where the contents is available in multiple languages, each in it's own branch.  We have clients who, when they return to the training, want to fast forward and/or rewind to get to the material they want to review.  When branching is initialized, all of these controls, understandable, are disables.  Is there a way to add a button/widget, etc., to allow the user to click through the slides to get to where they want to go?

I am trying the trial version of Adobe Captivate 2019 - I have used Articulate in the past, but thought I would try this out instead.  I imported my powerpoint presentation and it appears fine.  When I try to edit it (Edit presentation in powerpoint), it says "Creating temp file", then the screen goes blank.  No film strip, no anything.  Just a grey screen.  When I hit cancel, my presentation is still there. After reading some posts, I have tried saving it as a .ppt instead of a .pptx, but it did nothing.  I have also tried opening as admin on both powerpoint and Captivate, but it didn't seem to help. I am beyond frustrated, as I have spent hours trying to fix this issue - it doesn't help that I am somewhat challenged when it comes to computer systems. I am running Windows 10 ProProcessor Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-6500T CPU @ 2.50GHz 2.50 GHzInstalled RAM 16.0 GB (15.9 GB usable)System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processorIf anyo

I keep getting this error with a project i am working on using Captivate 11.5.4.613. I already had help with creating a little test with objects of different states, that can be identified with variables (https://community.adobe.com/t5/captivate-discussions/bedingte-erweiterte-aktionen-mit-mehr-als-2-status/m-p/12031783#M291239), I hope the next step can also be done: Imagine an equation like:[A] = [B] x [C] A, B, C are objects with 3 different states (each of them: state 1 = A, state 2 = B, state 3 = C). By clicking on the objects, the states change. By clicking on "Send", the object's states shall be checked ("right" oder "wrong") - for all 3 objects at the same time. I have tried without success to create an advanced action that allows to have either B oder C in object 2+3. The equation is correct in both forms:A = B x C as well as A = C x B I am curious to learn how this can be fixed. Thanks for your ideas!

I want to create Greek TTS, I tried to install TTS voice in Mocrosoft Windows but Greek voice still not available in Captivate, could you please advice?

A brief of the current process is to:Create a base version.Create copies for each language from the base versionExport and import captions to update the caption text to different languagesImport the audio files of other languages and replace them on each slide for each language Publish as mp4Please advise if there is any better or faster way to do this.
