Captivate

Hello,    I made an e-learning course to include in my portfolio (google site) rather than for uploading to a LMS1.  I download the project to my device as an HMTL 5 file (not zipped)2.  The download is successful and I can view/play the "output" and see my project.3.  I upload it to my S3 bucket on AWS and the upload is successful.4.  When I click on the index file to get the URL I get this message*I tried uploading a zip file and also uploading to a different hosting platform with the same result.   Can anyone help with this?

In a project I am working on, I use a Hide Playbar action when the slide is entered.  After it plays to a certain point, I want to Show Playbar to reveal the Playbar.Is this easily accomplished? Many thanks in advance!

Has anyone else encountered an issue where the published HTML files work fine in Chrome, but problematic in Safari. The animations are not smooth in Safari and audio files are not playing. I am not seeing the same issues when using Chrome. There also seems to be loading issues and the file becomes frozen in Safari.

Hi All!I'm an animator, and I've created some training animations for a client. The idea is that the user will watch the animated video (created in AE), and then do a quiz or reflection based on the video. There will be six videos, followed by six quizes. The client will deliver the material on Moodle 3.9, hosted by them. So my question is: Would Captivate be a good tool to do this with? I need it exported as a SCORM package, and I don't have a ton of experience with Captivate. Any advice would be much appreciated!

Hello all, I am new to Captivate 2019 and I already wanting to uninstall it! It seems to have been coded in the early 2000's (maybe late 90's) and the more I use it, the more I want to remove it. Its vastly different and disappointing compared to today's modern eLearning products. I come from using Articulate 360/Rise and this is night and day in comparison. Is there anyone out there using Articulate 2019 and can relate to this or is it just me because I am new and haven't gotten used or accepted this setback? I have used many of the Adobe Creative Creative Suite products and love them! In fact, this is like a totally different product as it has none of the looks and feels of other Adobe products. Its sad because on paper, its appears to be a great product for the capabilities and features it offers but the UX is horrible - non intuative poor layout/design, no intergration with other Adobe products and crashes peridically (and I am on a late model very well spec'ed Alienware

The image below has colored lines with arrows. Any recommenation on how to most efficiently, effectively animate the arrows traleling through the lines?   Dvaid

There aren't any click boxes or buttons on the frame. We are updating an old lesson it aut advances in the old format.  We've added a theme but there aren't any buttons or click boxes in the theme.  The new lesson does not auto advance.

Hi there!I work with projects where videos are an essential part. Of course weight is an issue I have faced, so I was wondering if there is an option to link the videos to an external server? I've tried the slide video option with youtube and vimeo but that doesn't work for me, because I need my clients to be able to control the videos, but not the rest of the course (So playbar wouldn't be an option).  I would be very thankful if there's some advice in this issue. 

I develop video-based training. Each slide includes mostly video. I've been successfully embedding f4v videos into Captivate projects for some time but video quality and file size issues make it necessary to begin linking to videos on external servers.I've tried a number of options without success.I create a video event, choose the url option, and add the url from the uploaded video. The only usable server choice is the Adobe Media Streaming Service. I've tested the videos on different servers including Amazon since the troubleshooting advice alerted me that only Adobe partners servers will be recognized. The project previews and the progress bar moves as if the video is playing but only the background file is visible. I tried all the preview options - no luck.I decided to try the YouTube widget. I uploaded test videos to YouTube, inserted the Interaction widget and added the url, etc. This option results in a successful preview only when I choose the html 5 output in web browser optio

Hi there-  I have two embedded external videos (mp4) in a file I'm working in.  When I use  Preview next 5 slides or Preview Project the video plays like I want it to.  When I publish the file (HTML5/SWF) and view the file after publish, the videos don't work.  Any ideas about where to start my troubleshooting? The video is set to Auto Play. And I have it set to pause the slide till end of video.  When I view it after publish, the blank slide shows for 5 seconds and then moves onto the following slide instead of showing the video. Any assistance would be appreciated. By the way, I'm using Captivate 2017. Amy

I have this clickbox on Captivate 9 on hundreds of slides, but can't seem to automatically position it to the end of the timeline.I end up dragging it all the way, and if I exceed the drag length to greater than the length of the slide, it ends up at the start again.Is there a keyboard shortcut that I can use to move this object to the end of the timeline automatically? (not Ctrl+E)ThanksRegards

2-part question: 1 - Anyone else use or have experienace with Axis Atrixware LMS?  2 - Anyone have issues with SCORM modules created with Captivate 19 having issues as they age? I am leaning its an LMS issue but know I can get quick and reliable answers here. Issues that are not related to things no longer used (Flash, etc).  Thank you in advance for your feedback!

Hello all;I am in need of some help, please. I am working in Captivate 2019 on a Mac. I'm trying to work on a simple simulation where users need to click on a click box. If they get it right, they click to continue. If they don't: - first, they will get a box that tells them where they should have clicked and an arrow pointing to the same- then they click a continue button that clears the screen of the hints so they can try again- if they get it right the project advances- if they don't get they get another text box that says sorry, click to continue.  I was struggling with figuring a way to do this since you can't have more than one failure message on click box and I found this older post  that was very helpful in getting me started.  1. I first made it so all elements on the screen (other than the click boxes) were hidden on entry. 2. I have a question pool of 10 questions. I need all the questions to have 4 shuffled answers and it be audio narrated. I've done the slide audio and audio attached to the feedback captions which work. But the slide audio has the answers narrated in the wron order obviously.I was looking at a click or hover over to play the audio but as these end up behind the answers they don't appear to work. Anyone know if there is work around for this?

I'm used to making an LMS course as one Captivate project. Say it has 5 lessons, I would link to them from a main menu. It's easy to make each lesson accessible after the previous one is done.I'm now working on a 12 hour course, and the ISD said she usually sees this done as a multi-module project with a shell. So I think I would make a main menu as the shell, then link to each project separately. The modules have checkpoints, but no quizzes. There is a final exam, but it will be built in Homework, and linked to by the LMS when the modules are all viewed. I just need to make sure each module is viewed one-by-one in order with the final exam at the end. I'm a bit worried about how I will get the modules to be accessible after the previous one is viewed, but maybe the LMS can take care of this, right? Any recommedations on how to approach this? I'm thinking the multi-sco packager is not the best option, plus I want to have control of how the main screen looks.

Hi,I have a slide with multiple text entry boxes.The slide audio is supposed to stop after 10 sec.Once a button is clicked it should use an AA to continue the Audio and also display objects. (see image)Issue:The slide audio simply won´t stop. Even if I put in a click box that has "pause slide audio" checked...If I set the button to pause audio when "clicked" it does that though...Any idea what to do?

How do I disable choice options or the submit button until after slide audio finishes.  

It's that time of year again where we have a new macOS - and where there has been no word from Adobe whether Captivate will work on it or not. Now, I won't bring up all the reasons why you shouldnt upgrade right now, why the Captivate team seem to not realise a new OS is coming, or why they know but ignore it (even though they would have access to developer previews months in advance). Those discussions have been had with the last three major OS updates. Instead - if you have decided to give it a try anyway, or installed the new OS without realising the history - I'd like to hear if it is working for you! And for anyone wondering - generally a version of Captivate cerrtified for the new OS will not be released until December or January (or later) based on previous years.

I have no options to Close or Cancel the Assets panel. I see the assets but can't download. I can't close out of the panel and therefore can't use the app at all.  I have successfully downloaded assests/characters as recently as last week and was able to close out the panel. The problem started when my wireless connection was cut off during a search for assets. I re-established connection but don't see any button to close, exit, cancel, etc.  Getting pretty frustrated as I have some deadlines and the app is frozen right now; I really don't want to close out even though I've save my recent changes. Can anyone help me?

Hello,  I am currently having a terrible struggle with HTML 5 output of my file.  I have a shared interaction, Show Smartshape with the button turned onHide Smartshape  without button Jump to specific slide ( this also happens in other instances outside of this specific interaction) Lets say the timeline is 45 seconds long We have a transparent button appearing at 43,  square smart shape disappearing at 42. - all located at the bottom left of the screen, they function as a Next Button.  Upon starting the presentation: When we enter the presentation >  select the Closed Captions button > then press play ( As the timeline will not start until you select play when there is audio on the timeline for 508 reasons as requested). The timeline functions like normal for the first few seconds, but for some reason, at the end of the timeline we have the narrator say " please select the next button..." and then th

Hi,I am looking for a way to create a quiz slide (just knowledge check) where learners can click to confirm one or more options out of 3 answers each.Is there anything like that?

I used to be able to right mouse on a slide that required editing that is in sync in the library. I use PP 365 and Captivate 19.  When I right click and select edit Presentation, I now get a blank grey screen with the linked file name showing in the startus bar. but no view of the presentation? Any ideas or is it the compatability.
