This is an oddball question but I'm working with a character who's voice I'm not able to do but would still like to livestream with. Does anybody have any idea on how to add live typed text to a sort of speech bubble that pops up? I'm also open to any outside programs that work with OBS to do this. I'm currently controlling the character via Xbox controller to MIDI so I have the full keyboard available but need more audience interaction than just character movement.
I'm super new to character animator, so I don't know what I'm doing wrong here.Basically I'm trying to make my puppet fade in an out right? But when I add the behaviour and trigger and go back to record mode, the puppet is transparent and pressing the key doesn't do anything. What am I missing here? I watched the guide to triggers and did as shown but its not working. The opacity is at 100% and if I try to do this to just one part of the puppet or to another one the result is the same - that part is invisible and won't turn back to normal. Help?
Hello to all. I really want to learn how to fully use the Character Animator program. After working with her for a while there were questions, could you help with them?First How to make objects on the head and hands with separate textures?Second. How to make head turns with a mask or glasses? (what parameters to indicate in the program)Third. How to attach an object to the hands so that they are the top layer?
I think this is a bug in 3.3.1. I wanted to check if anyone else was seeing it. I have multiple audio interfaces on my system. When Character Animator is linked from an AE or Premiere project, I often see this message "The device has changed and no output channels are present..."When I have left a project rendering, I often come back to maybe ten instances of this screen. It makes no difference if I tick the Don't Show Me Again box. I have tried changing my default system audio. It is only Character Animator and none of the other Adobe apps are throwing up this message. I am used to seeing this message in other CC apps if I unplug my USB Audio Interface - which makes perfect sense - but there's nothing like that going on.
I had been storing the PS files connected to my rig on my desktop, but then made the mistake of moving them, resulting in this. Any advice on how to re-link? Or will I need to build a new rig? Thanks!
I want to draw and animate something like the picture below. It is a set of 2 identical size gears. One of the gears has a drive shaft and the other gear is basically lose inside the gear housing. As the gear witht he drive shaft turns, it also turns the other gear and it suctions fluid from the bottom. I already know how to animate the fluid OK. But what would be the best way to animate a set of gears rotating like this?
When in Record, I only see the puppet's mouth change to a number of mouths. Neutral, smile, and surprised are the only mouths shown when I'm recording my face and I'm not sure why. Any ideas as to why this is happening? Thanks! If you need any more information please let me know. I love this program and hope to improve my puppet
Hey dev team!I know there is a Search Bar in the Rig Workspace but you can only search for Layer Titles, not Tags. I dont always remember the Title of my Layers and I simply want to search by tag. Thanks!
When I try to add a viseme on Windows, by clicking Alt and Right Click, it closes that menu. Which is a minor problem which can be fixed with another key bind. Maybe Shift Right Click?
Hi guys, I am using adobe character animater the latest version and I am facing problem whenever I go to (record), I got these pop up! " Error parsing properties list from file ..."what should I do?
Hello everybody!I have a problem with recording. I have rigged arms of a character with Arm IK and they are bending right during recording but when I play recorded animation, elbows are bending wrongly. Also when I move playhead to any frame of timeline the initial position of hands is displayed, then I press 'play' and animation starts from this initial position and quickly changes to recorded position of a dragger on a wrist. It seems like recorded tracks are not fixed cached animation but something like expressions-driven track that recalculates constantly. I'd like to know if this behaviour is right. Because if so how it's possible to record and edit arms movements? Maybe I have some errors in setup...
hi why I cannot be "wilk" walk ??
I'm fairly new to character animate and I'm getting stuck with this one thing. I can't get my characters back hair to attach to the head group. I tried following the instructions from other threads but haven't gotten anything to look quite right. Basically I have 3 groups: Head, Body, and Back Hair. I tried putting a pin near the top of the head called "Hair attachment" and setting the back hair "Attach to: Hair attachment" and while the hair is moving in the same directions as the head, it's kind of floating separately and it's clear it's not attached. I uploaded a short video that shows the behavior. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Hi there. I have been using CH for a few months and it works great. Although I have one persisting problem. The sad mouthset, which is in the alternative mouths group, is always not in sync when I am talking nor when I'm syncing it with my audio. I've done what tutorials on youtube told me to do but it always ends up not being in sync. The normal mouths group set though is working just fine. Could anyone help me to resolve this persisting problem as I'm trying to make the character look sad and then cry? Thank you.
Hi I make a lot of different scene in one file.Everytime I create new scene, I have to readjust set-up in Puppet Track Behavior. For examples, I prefer to move eyes with "Keyboard inpuy" and "Mouse and Touch input" in Eye Gaze but I have to click the red button and reset up everything all the times when I try to make new scene. So is there anyway I can make this setting as default in Puppe3t Track Behavior so it effects all the scens immediately? Thanks
Hi!First post here, so if I do anything wrong, forgive me.So I have these diferent puppets that I'm trying to make a scene with (11). I don't know why, but some, when I create them in the scene, they get their faces all weird and distorted. The mouth, eye and eyebrow tracking work fine with them, it's just... a visual glitch? Why does this happen only to some of them? I have determined that it's not because of any dangling point being misplaced and the heads origins are fine. Can someone help me? I can't seem to solve it even refreshing the scene won't work. I've put some of them side by side for comparison. Thanks in advance!
hi Does anyone know if its possible to map a cycle layer animation to a midi slider knob. For example as I move the knob to the right it would show the next image in the animation. And I can reverse the animation by turning the knob to the left. Does anyone know if this is possible or is this not really what midi knobs are used for? Thanks in advance for your help!
Let's say I want to do this: 0 seconds, position X = 01.5 seconds, position X = 210 And maintain even speed during the movement. How can I do that exaclty? Here is a video of a blend I did, but it comes pretty jumpy. Also the recording time of the movement may vary, and blending it as per the recording may not be that exact anyway. Is there another way to get those exact numbers? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i1ht-RmuQjo
I’m studying up to do my next big project next month. I have a Stream Deck XL, although I don’t do streaming—using it as an adaptable external keyboard more than anything else.If you had 32 programmable keys to work with, what functions would you put on them? I’m thinking “set rest”, definitely, and “2 frame take”. Probably triggers for left/front/right head direction and happy/sad mouth sets. What else would you recommend?
Hi Dave Werner (and whoever else might help me) Love you, love your video tutorials. Is it just me or is the character animator backup feature a nightmare? When it crashes instead of helping you open the last project file, it reverts to week old versions. And you lose days of work. Please help me to figure out a workflow to backup my projects. Saving a newer version is unworkable since it creates new copies and screws up asset locations. The saves history versions in character animator are unusable. They offer zero backup of any reliable use. This is a hellish way to work Even if you saved the night before by closing the program clean. The next time it crashes it reverts to super old versions. Spent 1 hour 28 minutes with tech support to no avail. Very nice tech guy, but no solution and I can’t find the file I’ve been working days on to perfect. Helllllllllp. Thanx
Hey guys, just stumbled upon a really weird issue and have no idea why this is happening. The puppet has been behaving fine before this project. Any help appreciated!
This is the other animation which I don't know if it is possible to do. I would like to simulate running fluid inside pipes, valves, and objects in general by changing a color advancing through a path. The paths could be in different shapes, fats, slinders, curves, straights, etc, but the fluid would need to run through them in a straight motion taking the shape of the path. Does anybody have any ideas on how I could do this with Character animator? Check out video below. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=20R-y_9iVsQ
I have a question about "Adobe Character Animator".In "Adobe Character Animator" I would like to import my recorded scene into the Aftereffects and then export it as HTML code with the "Bodymovin" plugin, so that I can use it for web applications or games. Importing a file from "Adobe Character Animator" into "Adobe After Effects" works fine, but I had a lot of trouble to export it into the "Bodymovin".Does anyone have a tip for me?
When I drag my puppet's hand, it glides into position and looks wabbly 🙂. A Stiffness Parameter would be very helpful.
