I create a 42 page pdf and images are missing.  The error is “Version 4 ICC profiles were converted to Version 2 ICC profiles during pdf export.  Error encountered while ready tiff image.”  The indesign file is a file linked with other indesign files.  No error occurs when creating pdfs individually from each of the indesign files, so images are not damaged.Is it a indesign glitch or a acrobat glitch.  We have been creating pdfs this way for years and it recently became a issue.Is it a indesign glitch or a acrobat glitch.

I’m working on making my PDF exports more robust and accessible, and therefore including Articles. In a recent project, I fumbled through InDesign’s Articles panel (not a great experience) and managed to see the <Art> tags appropriately names and exported across into the resulting PDF. But in Acrobat, there’s also an Articles panel that shows nothing. What gives?Is there a separate, different thing in Acrobat for articles outside of Accessibility Tags? Or did I miss something to have InDesign automatically build these, too? Any insight is helpful. The past few days when trying to drag and drop text I am getting a pop up that says “in CanAcceptURL.” the only way to get rid of it is to hit the escape key, although twice now I had to force quit InDesign when it appeared. I am on a Windows 11 PC and updated my apps  last week. Has anyone else had this problem, I have been using the program since version 2.0 and have never had this happen and do not know what that message means.

This is an odd one, I double click on an indesign file, indesign and the file opens up but indesign goes to the background on my Mac, and the finder to the foreground then the Mac doc appears and stays there, I have to then click on the indesign layout to bring it to the front, the doc still stays until I click on something else on the doc then it disappears. This started when an agency sent me a brochure to work on and now it is happening with every file I open. I have searched and not found anyone with the same problem. So far I have deleted the Indesign preferences and that didn't fix it, then updated to the latest indesign and that didn't work either. Both illustrator and photoshop are working great. I would be grateful for any advice. Thank you. My set up is: Mac Studio 2023, 64GB ram, Sequoia 15.7.1, Indesign 2026.

PDF Comments panel corrupts Czech diacriticsInDesign 2026 on Windows 11 displays corrupted Czech characters in the Window → PDF Comments panel.The corruption affects:imported PDF comments, the search edit box while typing!The same INDD and PDF display correctly on other machines - but not all. Rest of UI has no problems.Verified:identical InDesign installation (hash comparison of files), identical PDF, different Acrobat versions tested, Czech and English UI tested, reinstallation of InDesign tested  identical UI fonts (Segoe family)Therefore the issue appears to be specific to the PDF Comments panel text rendering/input subsystem rather than PDF parsing.This should be á č ď é ě í ň ó ř š ť ú ů ý ž, the same changes appears in comments  

Aus InDesign soll ein barrierefreies PDF erstellt werden. Sollte das PDF Export Tag H1 im Dokument nur einmal (für den Titel) vergeben werden? Kapitelüberschriften beginnen mit H1?Also zum Beispiel:Titel - H1Kapitel A - H2, A 1 - H3, A 1.1. - H4Kapitel B - H2, B 1 - H3, B1.1 - H4 Ich habe mit Titel H und dann weiter H1 für die Kapitel gearbeitet. Das gefällt PAC nicht! :(

I am trying to create a paragraph style like the following:The problem is that I am unable to control the space between the first and second lines. Is there a flaw in the way I have set it up if I can’t control this? 

Hi, I am trying to create a paragraph style that contains a Title and Subtitle.I will ultimately create a TOC that contains just the Title.AFAIK, the paragraph style is accomplished by created the Subtitle style, then nesting the Title as a character style through n words/symbols etc. I don’t see a clear path to generate the TOC I want based on this approach.Can anybody offer any suggestions?Thanks!

I am trying to find out how to add a tint of a Pantone swatch from InDesign to a CC Library. Ex: 60% tint of 2143C. I understand that when you do this you also have to add the 100% value of this swatch as well, but when I do this I just end up with 2 100% versions of the same swatch instead of one at 100% and one at 60%.

Hello,I’m experiencing a strange behavior in InDesign that I didn’t have before.When I select multiple images and try to drag the selection, InDesign moves only one image instead of moving all selected images together. I would like to move the entire selection as a group.You can see the issue in the attached video.I’m using InDesign 21.4 on macOS Tahoe 26.3. Is this the default behavior in recent InDesign updates, or is there a setting that could cause this? Does anyone know how to fix it?Thanks!

Hello All,I am iterating text in each frame and where ever I find kTextChar_FrameBoxBreak character I need to delete that character and replace with paragraph return.But when I get the text from a frame in WideString and get the last character, it gives me carriage return (kTextChar_CR) instead of frame box break character.Has anyone tried to read this character through C++ plugin,Thanks in advance.Farzana.

I can’t believe this is happening again. We really should get some sort of discount or refund for all the time we’re wasting lately with this issue.After being solved, this problem shows up again with the last update. I suddenly lose all UNDO steps, past the last four or five, just like what happened a few months ago.If the problem is related with the History panel, JUST DISABLE THE HISTORY PANEL. We didn’t have this issue before the panel, so I guess it has something to do with it. 

How to make a script that changes one font to another in all styles (over 100 styles) in large catalogue file. Has anyone made such a script and would be so kind to share it?

Today, 27 May 2026, I updated to InDesign 21.4 and, sure enough, the Times New Roman issue has been resolved. Unfortunately, Univers Bold is now missing.I reported the problem in November 2025. Since then, I’ve had to keep updating my files converting OTF to TTF. Following a new InDesign update sometime early this year, Calibri and Wingdings 2 were also missing. An hour after this InDesign 24.1 update, Windows also released an update: KB 5089573, and now none of the fonts – TNR, Calibri and Univers – could be found. I uninstalled the Windows version and upon restarting, OS builds 26200.8524 and 26100.8524 were installed.Everything was working normally again (except for Univers). An hour later, a new Windows update with the same issue appeared, and all the fonts were missing again."This cumulative update for Windows 11, versions 25H2 and 24H2 (KB5089573), includes production-quality improvements." When inserting a table within a text frame, is there any way to ensure that the para style that the table is inserted into is always a particular style?For example, I have two para styles – Style A and Style B. Is there a way that I can ensure that an inserted table is always inserted into a Style B para, automatically? So the “container” para style, if you will, will always be Style B?Hope that makes sense!Thanks in advance.

Hi,I am using Indesign, and I have a gradient rainbow textbox. It was all fine but I then realised I needed to change my background colour to black because I had the paper colour changed to black and it wasnt exporting to a pdf properly. I fixed that issue and change the background to black but now my gradient rainbow textbox has turned brown. I dont know what happened and no one seems to have had this problem before. I have tried remaking the box and nothing is working. I also have a gradient rainbow text (just letters, no background text box) and that is fine. What do I do?Thanks,Greer
